T400 doesn't hibernate after sleep (battery power)

t400 2765-A49 doesn't go to hibernation from sleep during battery power. When it's time to go to hibernation a click is heard and notebook stays in sleep mode. There's no problem during AC power. It goes to hibernation from sleep mode successfully.
I tried with Vista 32-bit and 7 64-bit. BIOS updated to the lastest one. Power Manager 2.42 and the latest 3.30. Please, tell me what other settings can I check/adjust to solve this problem?

  • M3800 Developer Edition: wifi doesn't work after sleep

I have an M3800 Developer Edition (2015 model). Ubuntu is factory-installed 14.04, with hardware enablement stack installed. Recently (past 1-2 weeks) wifi doesn't work after sleep (lid closed or open doesn't matter), and only rebooting gets in back. Tried rmmod and modprobe with no success. Has anyone else seen this, and/or are you aware of any open bug(s) for this?
    Relevant ouput:

rmmod the above, then modprobe iwlwifi. Does not fix problem, only rebooting does:

After Sleep, and power off, Lion Crash Totaly!
    I`'ve buy a iMac core i5, July 15 2011, 500gb, 4gb (upgraded to 8gb Ram).
Transf my MBP with Snow at first iMac power on, after tranfer Snow, I buy the Lion, install and use until 2 weeks. After the first Sleep, turn Lion power off to change place. When power on, the Lion was Crashed the computer in some way that was impossible to recover or do anything. even go back the timemachine with Lion or Snow, trey clean PRAM, DVD Boot, nothing works.
So, I put a Ubuntu LiveCD, REMOVE COMPLETE THE GUID of iMac Disk, also clean the PRAM (cmd+opt+ P + R during boot), so, the iMac was Clean and I Install the SNOW (sure).
I just Lost the money and download time that spent to get with Lion?
How can I have a Lion DVD for when Apple fix the LOT OF PROBLEMS?
Have apple schedule for fix problems?

    Hi @Ahmed-Aslam
I understand that you are have problems with hibernate and sleep on your notebook.
I would review the attached document. I realize from your post that you have tried some of the things listed, but just check it and see if anything there was missed, perhaps the section on malware issues.

You can also try using system restore to roll back to before the software update to see if that resolves the issue.

  • Wifi doesn't work after sleep

I'm having an issue where my wifi will stop working after sleep.  This isn't the same problem where the network had to be manually reconnected--
The "radar" will be grayed out, and I can see the networks if I click on it, but I cannot reconnect, disable wifi (make the radar the pie shape).  The only thing I can do is do a hard reset holding the power button until the computer shuts off.
In fact, if I select 'Apple -> Restart,' nothing happens.  I have to hold the power button down.
    Any thoughts?

  • Sometimes my laptop doesn't hibernate when its battery got empty

    Hi,
    First of all:
I might be facing this issue if the battery is old and also if the Power Settings are corrupt.
    The details of my problem:
Although the  low battery notification is ON, and Critical battery level is 5%, low battery level is 10%, and critical battery action is 'hibernation', as this screens shot below, but sometimes my laptop does neither notify me with low battery level/ critical battery level  nor does hibernate.
But with the same settings, some other times, it notifies me with the  low battery level/ critical battery level, and then it hibernates if I don't plug it in.
the Power Settings are  OK if we look at these screen shots.
This is strange, I am almost always used to using my laptop on a battery and with plugging in to the main supply power. But sometimes I forget to turn on the socket of the main supply power. And then, when my computer battery exhausts its charge,  my laptop shouts down suddenly (without warning).
As a result, I loss all my data.
When I turn it on again after shutting down due to its exhausted battery, I see an error message that my computer shout down accidentally, and several options ranging from starting in safe mode to start up normally. Then I start it normal.
Sometimes, I've seen this notification while clicking on the icon of battery in the system tray. Although my battery was charging,  in the notification in the screen shot below there's a cross mark on battery indicating to me that the battery needs to be replaced, which means the battery is corrupt.
In fact, I was advised that it is OK if I run my laptop on both battery and plug in. Thus, I have been used to running my laptop on both battery and plug in. However, I really noticed this destroyed my battery over time since it was lasting about three hours. However, it now became lasting an hour after it got full charged. I have a HP laptop (OEM). But the term(OEM) is really a misnomer because OEMs are not the original manufacturers; they are the customizers.
I don't think it is OK to run a laptop on both battery and plug in, do I?.
Thus, I don't know which type of battery I should buy if necessary.

    Hi @cooperator ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I will do my best to assist you. As there are many models of HP, I would need the model number. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Please respond with which Operating System you are running:
Which Windows Operating System am I running?
Here are some links that might help improve your battery performance.
Calibrating the battery on your Notebook. I would restore the defaults that are in the first screen shot you provided.
Please let me know how things go.
    Thanks.

  • T400s Problems with screen after reconnection power.

I am happy for my T400s but is some times has screen issues when the power is plug in and it wakes up from sleep. I have some pictures of it.
    Image 1
    Video
    Video of the problem
Is there a problem with the computer ?

I have this too. I believe it has to do with a changed power state (or however you call this) since the moment of suspension / hibernation. I think it's even reproducable:
    1. Have your PC plugged on AC (respectively not)
    2. Suspend / hibernate your PC
    3. Unplug (respectively do connect to charger)
    4. Resume & login, voilà!
So what I started doing is e.g. first unplug my laptop before I suspend and leave home... You can imagine.
    A graphics driver issue?

  • Rmbp 13" 2014 won't turn on after sleep battery drain

    Hi peeps,
Today, my rmbp 13" from 2014 failed to start after it's battery ran dry while it was sleeping.
I have let it charge for a while (about 15 minutes) and then it wanted to turn on again.
My question is: is this normal behavior? I found another thread with kind of the same question but it was irrelative due to other issues being present in that particular thread.
    Best regards,

  • Safari doesn't connect after sleep

The last few days after the computer has not been attended (sleep), Safari will not connect to the WAN. It will however, connect to the LAN where I can see my printer, other computers and the router.
Along with this, iTunes will not connect to their store.
FireFox will connect to the WAN and LAN without any problem.
    I have tried the following:
    1. Restart Safari - doesn't fix it.
    2. Clear Cookies - doesn't fix it.
    3. Trash .plist - doesn't fix it.
    4. Log out Log in - doesn't fix it.
    5. Restart the computer - guess what? it fixes it.
I don't particularly like having to restart the computer everyday, I'll try a few other things like quitting all active programs before leaving the computer to sleep.
I'll go ahead and file with Feedback Tools and see if I get any response from Apple.

Carolyn, read the bottom of the page for the description of my computer.
MacPro as in fire breathing, 4 HD drives, taco warming behemoth.
I don't use AirPort to connect to the network with, I use an Ethernet cable directly to the router which is an AT&T fiber connection w/wireless and hard wire capabilities. This device also feeds 4TV's. The Airport Express is downstairs connected to my entertainment system. And come to think of it, it doesn't work either when the rest of the gyrations are going on with the connection. But the TV's still work.
The Network Utility shows normal activity when things don't work.
Once I get the can't connect msg. on Safari, I continue with the inspection of the network and come up with a final no problems present, working just fine.
I haven't tried my back up drive, 'cause its only a week or so old and might have the same ruckus going.
This is not a major hassle, its just one I haven't seen before.
    Thanks for your reply though.

  • Laptop doesn't wake after sleep mode after Windows 10 update

I usually lower the laptop lid when i want to put it into sleep mode; after the windows 10 update, this stopped working. I tried putting it into sleep mode from the start menue. This causes the screen to become black, but power to remain on ( I can see this from a steady light from the power button whereas sleep would have a flashing power button). The laptop's fan also increases in speed. When I try to wake the laptop, nothing happenes; I have tried to use ctrl+alt+delete, however this also does not work. I am ususally forced to resort to a manual shut down via holding the power button for a few second and restarting the laptop. I have tried updating the display adapters, restarted the laptop, and still no result. Does anyone know why this is happenning and how I can fix it?

I was having the Exact Same Issue. The reason I decided to go back to windows 8 was because since upgrading to Windows 10, when my computer goes into sleep mode, I cannot wake it up. I have to press and hold the power button to shut it done and restart. Even if I close my laptop, and reopen the lid, it wont start back up and I have to press and hold the power button and shut it down and restart.  After trying to restore my HP Envy Laptop from Windows 10 to Windows 8, it got stuck in a Repair PC Loop and I could not even access the desktop, I tried the restore option to an earlier date and that failed and all the repair options also failed. The last option I had was to do a full PC Refresh, and that one worked. It took about an hour but no data was lost, and only a few of my downloaded apps were removed. An html url was left on the desktop that showed a list of all the apps that were removed. So all I did was download those back and now im back up and running Windows 8.

  • G4 won't start after sleep and power disonnect

    Hi,
I recently put my MDD G4 to sleep, then inadvertantly cut the power to the machine. Now it won't start up. I push the start button, it lights up as long as I'm holding it (firmly), but nothing happens. No fan, no screen, nothing. I've tried unplugging. There are no devices connected other than display and keyboard.
    I'd be grateful for suggestions!
    Thanks,

You could also have a bad PRAM battery. I would check it. When mine went, I had no response from my Mac at all; just a light on my power button; absolutely no boot at all.
Check out things in Texas Mac Mans tutorial on the subject. His tutorial is a little dated (don't believe it even mentions G5's) but the info in it, except SMU not being included, still applies. The PMU reset is discussed in there too.

  • Bluetooth doesn't work after sleep mode wake up

Okay, so my computer goes to sleep while in Windows XP and I wake is up. I have my bluetooth mouse and keyboard hooked up to it and I try to wake them up. My mouse doesn't reconnect. I notice that my computer also says that it's not connected to my wireless network, but the my web browser and messenger still connect fine. I check my bluetooth preferences to find out that nothing is connected and when I try to reconnect it doesn't work. This never used to happen and it just recently started when I reinstalled windows this past week. The only way I could get the devices to reconnect was to reboot and even then when my computer goes back to sleep they still disconnect.
Anyone else have this problem... or better yet, an answer?

How did you actually solve your problem ?
I have this too on a macbook 2.4.
any help appreciated, this is very annoying.
I installed all latest updates to windows/bootcamp. Did not help.
