T400 hangs with a green screen

Hi,
I have T400 with windows XP professional OS.
Everything works fine but once in a while the system hangs with a greeen screen(vertical lines). There after nothing works. The only way out is to restart the system and then again everything works fine.
Can you please help me resolve the issue.
Let me know if you all need more information for the same.

Okay, does this machine work on external LCD?
So several repeated reboot sometimes get a working machine?
Can you get into the BIOS menu when the laptop works on odd occasions? If so, go into your bios menu, go into your 'Config' menu.
Under the display there should be option to switch between switchable, discrete or integrated. Choose integrated graphics option. Then press F10 save and exit, see whether that resolves your green screen issue.

  • Can anyone help with a Green Screen Walk Out with FLV

I have seen a number of sites that use an interactive video walking out over the website. I have final cut and can create an .flv with a green screen. The problem is I do not know how to create the player for the overlay. I think I may need CS3 but I was hoping someone might have a work around.
    Here is an example: www.thinkvacuums.com
I was able to take the source and put it into iweb as a test but I can't access the files to swap out my video.
If anyone knows how to do this with Iweb and not using CS3 please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Will

  • Why do some videos play fine on Facebook while others have only audio with a green screen?

Why do some videos play fine on Facebook while others have only audio with a green screen?

    Hi,
Green screens are almost always indicative of a video driver issue.  Could you please post the contents of your "Display Devices" section after generating a DXDiag report?
What is a Dxdiag report and how do I run one?
I suspect you might have an out of date video driver.  This FAQ can help you learn the steps required to update:
Windows: how do I update the device driver for my video/display adapter?
Finally, if the driver update does not help, try disabling hardware acceleration using the steps outlined here:
How do I disable or enable hardware acceleration?

  • Walking characters, multiple video tracks/clips with a green screen

I'm pretty new to Final Cut Pro.
    Here is the scenario:
    -I have three characters (puppets).
-Each are recorded on a separate video track.
-Each are recorded with a green screen for the background.
-They are all walking in the same direction.
Question: How do I have all three characters walk along the same path on the same video? I have layered them one on top of the other and have tried to mess around with the different settings (including: Mask Shape filter; cropping the clip). However, they either walk out of the clip or there is not enough room between them with all clips playing at the same time.
Is there some way to isolate the character and their movements?
(P.S. I need them all to be of the same opacity in the end)
    Thanks for your expertise.

    1. I have three characters moving quite a large distance. I am trying to fit all of this movement into one clip and not have the video clips overlapping (I am also dealing with puppeteers in the background, so there is a lot I still have to edit out of the background using Shake).
Good luck on Shake but creating a mask and then processing the key is easy in Motion.
    TylerC_Edit wrote:
I'm not sure what you mean exactly by "executing the keys".
Masking, tweaking, processing, rendering. If you set up each puppet as a separate project in Motion, you can successfully execute on of the keys and then apply the same settings to the other two.
    TylerC_Edit wrote:
And yes, I need to figure out what it means to export with the Alpha.
Exporting the movie removes all processing so all you're doing is stacking up three puppets moving against a transparent background. Each can be scaled, positioned, keyframed, and have interactive shadows applied to it without requiring the chromakey to be process first. Huge timesaver.

I have looked into Motion, but am having trouble even viewing the video- is very laggy. Most likely my computer is too slow...unless you have any suggestions?
Motion requires some pretty hefty graphics hardware. You must have at least a 4870. But you have not specified in any of your posts what your format is.

What exactly is wrong with it and can it be fixed?
If you have AppleCare and/or iPod Nano is still under warranty, give them a call.  If not, take the computer to your local Apple Store or AASP.  The staff will tell you what is wrong w/it and let you know if it can be fixed after it is examined.

  • I need workflow advice with my green screen project! Help please!

Hello! I just shot a music video all in green screen. There are 5 different green screen shots and it is all HD. What is the best way to work with all of these green screen tracks? Should I key out all of the tracks and export them all with the alpha channel and then bring them back in? I just want to make sure when i layer them together to do effects, that it is not going to have to render everything again and take forever. Thanks!

Since this is your first production, you may need to transcode your "HD" to a frame-based codec before doing anything else.
Since this is your first chromakey shoot, we will assume you did not have the lighting and set optimized for proper green screen or you probably wouldn't be asking this question.
As Jim says, cut your show, get it close to locked. Take the green shots to Motion with some handles. Bring them back in as ProRes4444 movies.

  • Looking for good backgrounds to use with a green screen?

Any ideas where I can ding them?

    Hi
There are lot's of Pro qualities at Pro costs.
I just got to a normal textile reseller and bought blue and green sunshade fabric
This worked greatly - to start testing and learning
    My main problems are
    • Width of fabric - it is near to impossibly to combine two fabrics to get a wider area. No one I know of can make invisibly seams.
    • Wrinkles - Tough to iron a 3m(10ft) x 3m(10ft) fabcric
    • Lighting - Lighting needs to be even
    • Support - This I need to figure a lot more about

  • How do i use my own image with keying (or green screen)

how do i use my own image witrh keying (or green screen)

Put your sky clip on a layer below the clip you want to key. One or the other will be a connected clip. Apply  the Keying filter to foreground clip (the one with the green screen). The green will be seen as transparent and the sky will show through as the BG. Adjust as necessary in the Inspector.
    Good luck.

  • Remove Green Screen with Adobe Photoshop Elements

    Hi,
I have setup a Green Screen in my home. I took some pictures of my wife with the Green Screen Background and want to remove the Green Screen and replace with a different background. I was able to do this via the Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0 but need help with the Photoshop Elements.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Sridhar

FWIW, She is really easy to select on that green screen if you use a few tricks. The screen shots are in CS3 my preference but worked with Elements limitations to show you how easy she can be selected without any filters.
My end product doesn't look as good as Mark's though. That's a tough act to follow. Thought I'd post this anyway just in case you couldn't get that filter to work in Photoshop Elements 7,
First, make a copy of the image and desaturate it to make it black and white. I prefer using Hue/Saturation from the image menu (CTRL U) and moving desat slider down to -100. Next Invert it (CTRL I), then run levels from the image menu (CTRL L) to push the image towards pure white and black...well close. It should look something like this when these steps are done.
Copy this image to a new layer. (Just in case something goes wrong so you don't have to repeat the last steps). Leave the copy in Normal blend mode. Grab your paint brush tool. Set the brush tool's mode to Overlay blend mode. You will use black and white paint to push dark gray to black and light gray to white. When done, it should look something like this:
Not perfect...I did this really fast and was a bit sloppy and didn't get all of my light grays pushed to whites. Probably not a problem for the hair edges but would need to be fixed for face and body areas as this will be a mask to make the selection.
Select mask that was just made and copy it into your clipboard. Select<All; Edit<Copy. Create and adustment layer mask that has a mask. I used the Solid Color Fill Adjustment layer. Alt click the mask of the adjustment layer you created. It will turn the document white. This is because the mask is now the focus. Now paste. Edit<Paste. This will paste the above mask into the adjustment layer mask. Now, either alt click the mask or click on another layer to remove the focus from the mask. You'll use this adjustment layer as a base to a clipping mask. See next paragraph.
The Solid color fill layer (or whatever you picked) with your mask is going to be the base on which your selection will be built. Create a copy of your original image up above this base layer. Now, hold in the alt key and move your curser in the layers pallete to the line separating these two layers. Notice the cursor changes to an odd symbol...a solid ring and a hollow ring with an arrow. Click the palette on the line separating these two layers. (Release alt key when done.) She should now be covering the mask you created. Areas that are white in the adjustment layer mask will show the original image; areas in black in the adjustment layer mask will be transparent. (Areas that contain shades of gray would be semi-transparent...amount based on the gray's brightness value.)
For the green cast on the edges, I removed that by using a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to remove the green spill over. If you only wanted to effect the girl and not a new background add it to clipping mask. (Same way...alt click the line between her image and the Hue/Saturation layer.)
Not perfect but this is what I came up with based on the above mask:

  • Live Stream Green Screen with Adobe Premiere

So at my school I am head tech for the morning news which is a live broadcast that is sent throughout the entire school. Right now we have a blank green background and my Teacher asked me to setup a way for us to broadcast the news with a green screen live. After about a month of attempts none have proven worthy for the situation is not the best:
    - The output signal that is used to broadcast to the school is old analog: it runs on a coaxial plug. However, we have a modulator that takes in s-video and RCA and converts that to coaxial
    - We have adobe Premiere on new computers but they don't have a suitable coaxial output, I could possibly install a graphics card we have but since they are new and are school PCs, I cant really do that
    - The camera is nothing fancy, put does have a fire wire and RCA output, but the computers do not have none of those inputs, however we do have a converter from fire wire to USB
    - The new computers have no RCA or s-video outputs(like I said, they are new and the broadcasting setup is old) but we still have one old laptop that we can clone the screen to the broadcast for it has an s-video output.(Possibly we could stream from the new PC to the old one and clone it to the TV?)
    - The new computers do have extra VGA outputs, so could you possibly convert that to s-video? (Cus they are both analog?)
Like I said, this is a very sticky situation. My closest idea is that we could some how stream the green screen video from the new PC to the old one that would then broadcast it, but I do not know how to do that and the camera will not register with Premiere even when plugged in via converter... I believe it is because we do not have a capture card, the only capture card I could even use though would have to be external for I cannot open the new PCs under the school policies. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas on how I could solve this enigma, that would mean a million.

  • FP 10.1 green screen with sound Win7 32bit IE

    Hi there,
I still face this issue with the green screen, which usually starts with a flickering that becomes worse and worse and ends with a completely green screen. The sound in the background works fine.
I tried disabling the HA at the beginning, however this doesnt solve the problem. Then, I have been checking my graphic cards, but the drivers are up to date (2*NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 in SLI).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Hi, if you have turned off the H.A. and updated your graphic and video drivers to the latest versions then that is all that has been recommended that I know of for this issue.
The info on this is here:

Can you see the animation here? It will also tell you what version of Flash Player you have Installed.
If you see the animation, then Flash Player should be Installed correctly and working.

  • Ghostly figure when trying to clone with green screen

So i was messing with the green screen feature on imovie by putting two videos of myself together to get the cloning effect. The only problem is that when i do this my other self looks ghostly. he seems to be transparent into the other video. So i looked up online how to fix this and people said to swap the videos but this also didnt help. now the other video looks ghostly and transparent into the other video. i also rerecorded it multiple times with the same effect. to record this i am using my isight on my macbook pro. is there a way to make the videos more solid and not bleed or be transparent into each other? and yes i did crop it and one of the videos were still ghostly looking.

When cloning and putting two figures side by side you do not need a green screen. there are many videos of people doing it on youtube without a green screen
