T400 Integrated Camera Program Help

Hi
So I did a clean install of windows 7 on my t400 but i forgot to back up the roxio program that came pre-installed with the notebook ): So after installing 7 and a driver for the camera, I am left with no program to use the camera to take photos and record videos. Does anyone have any recommendations on any cheap or free programs?
I downloaded windows move maker to try and use the camera but for some reason, movie maker isnt picking up the integrated camera. Does anyone know a cause to this?
Thanks,
John

Hi John,
Did you install the proceeding driver?:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-70479
For free program I suggest using Yawcam:- http://www.yawcam.com/
Hope it helps.

  • T400 "integrated camera was not found"

Recently my T400 camera just stopped working.  When I reinstall the drivers from the Lenovo site, I get a message "the integrated camera was not found".  The camera does not show up on my Device Manager.  There is one entry in the Device Manager for SM Bus Controller which has a yellow ? and ! on it, but I've been unable to determine that that's for -- I think it was there before the camera stopped working.  I saw where one version of Lenovo laptop enabled the camera by pressing Fn + Esc, but that didn't work for me.  Neither did multiple reboots.  I am using Windows XP with SP3.  My group uses MIcrosoft Office Communicator for IM and videoconferencing -- my camera always shows as disabled when I IM and no camer is found to enable in that program.  I appreciate your help.

    Hi freemama,
For SM Bus Controller typically Intel chipset  driver is required. Maybe if you install it then the camera will also start working again, just a thought:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70315

  • T400 - Integrated Cam suddenly gone

    Hi,
quick question - is there any reason - other than hardware related stuff - that would make the integrated camera be gone? I cannot find it in Bios OR in Windows 7. Driver install tells me no camera found, so does everything else. Nothing within device manager either.
Few months ago i had sent in my thinkpad and got the m/b changed. Could it be that they forgot to reconnect the wires? Had this before with my Bluetooth module... Is there a way for me to fix this myself?
    Thanks.

I don't know but since it is under warranty I would give them a call http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/43y6629_04.pdf page 285

    Hi,
suddenly my integrated camera is missing from my computer, i went to check in the BIOS and its not there as well

I tired the below  solutions in the forum with no use

    2. disabled USB devices in the BIOS, then check ( i disabled USB, USB boot and wireless USB with no use, i also disabled combinations of all the above)

  • T400 - 2763 - CTO: Integrated Camera cannot be detected

I have never been able to get the integrated camera to work since i got this laptop. I have tried mulitple attempts to fix it to no avail. I have tried updating the driver, bios, running the lenovo diagnostis, etc etc.
The interesting thing is that the camera seems to be functional. When I test it using the Lenovo diagnostics it comes on and pass the picture and video test!
But neither gmail video nor WebEx can detect the camera...
Device is working property in Device Manager. Driver Version is 5.8.53003.0 dated 8/3/2009 by Sonix
Any help on this is much appreciated.

I tried uninstalling the Sonix driver and installed the Microsoft Driver Version 6.1.7601.17514. No luck.

  • How to access Integrated camera from Windows 7 - ThinkPad X301?

Could someone please tell me how to start the integrated camera after installing the driver in Windows 7? I could see the device driver from Device Manager stated that it is properly installed and working fine but I had gone all the program interface to see where to start it proves to no avail. It is unlike Windows XP where it can be accessed from Accessories.

Hi and welcome to the forum jaaj!
What is the 7 character product number of your SL500? It looks like 2668-KHU and can be looked up from the back sticker.

  • X220 integrated camera Windows 8.1 not showing up

    Hello,
Im using X220 with Windows 8.1 Pro.
Under Fn + F6 i have TouchPad, Wireless, Battery, Audio
    I installed:
    - Lenovo Power Management Driver 1.67.04.05
    - Lenovo Settings Dependency Package 2.2.0.28
    - Lenovo Solution Center 2.4.003.000
    - Lenovo System Update 5.06.0016
    - On Screen Display 6.71.00
    - Ricoh_media_driver_v2.22.18.01
    - ThinkPad UltraNav Driver 16.2.19.14
    - ThinkVantage Active Protection System 1.79.00.03
    And from Microsoft Store:
    - Lenovo Settings - which run when i hit fn+f6
Non of driver updater find the built-in camera, same with Deviace Manager.
Lenovo System Update dont download any camera related software.
I understand that somekind of driver need to be installed to be able to turn on the camer.
But non i found activate it.
From what I read it should be in Lenovo Settings with Audio settings, but sadly nothing there.
When I start the build in app "camera" from Windows, it tells me there is no atached camera.
Those are the Lenovo x220 related installed application that showed up in Add/Remove Software.
Sadly the only camera driver from Lenovo page which is: Integrated Camera Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), XP - ThinkPad , dosn't help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thank you for confirming.
Here's what I get for your MTM:
    ThinkPad X220 (4291-TGY)
    i5-2540M(2.6GHz), 4GB RAM, 320GB 7200rpm HD, 12.5in 1366x768 LCD, Intel HD Graphics,
    Intel 802.11agn wireless, WWAN option,Bluetooth, 1Gb Ethernet,UltraNav, Secure Chip, 6c Li-Ion,Win7 Pro 32
I notice that there is no mention of a camera. Are you sure your X220 has the physical device installed?
If you use your MTM and your serial number here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/ibasepartslookup
you should get back a listing of the components installed in your machine at its build. The list can be somewhat cryptic, so please feel free to post it back here and we can dig further.

  • E430c laptop can't read driver for integrated camera

    Hi Everyone,
I have a Thinkpad Edge E430c running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and it can't find my integrated camera.
I've downloaded the driver from here http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds028647
When I click through to install, a warning pop up with the words "No Appropriate Driver to be installed".
I've tried clicking on the setup and it says "Can not find the device, Abort install!"
The camera doesn't appear on the list in Device Manager.
I've tried downloading the driver again and rebooting to no avail. I've been trying to solve this problem for many hours, and would appreciate any help.
Tired and close to giving up,
    Cam

Good day and welcome to the community.
    Sorry you're having difficulties.
One thing to check... Boot into your BIOS, select the Security tab, select I/O Port Access and verify that the Integrated Camera is Enabled. Note that the screens/labels may be slightly different, though, as I'm looking at screenshots of the E420 BIOS.
    Regards.

  • W510 Integrated Camera Doesn't Work

I've got a W510 43192NU and upon receiving it I replaced the 32 bit OS with 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate.  I had to go grab the camera driver from their website but initially everything was working ok.  I was having issues with my blue USB 3.0 ports, so I tried to upgrade the firmware of the USB 3.0 controller which worked perfectly, except for the minor problem that my integrated camera no longer works.
I contacted support and they were pretty dumbfounded and the only suggestion they had for me was to do a fresh install of Windows.  This was probably about 6-7 weeks ago, I hadn't had an opportunity till tonight to try their recommended solution.  I decided to take a day off of work and get this camera thing straightened out, as I'm starting to need to do video conferences more frequently.
Lo and behold after doing a full reinstall of the OS, and installing the minimal drivers necesarry, I still have the same problem with the webcam.  The driver looks like its installing ok, but doesn't actually run to completion and ask me to restart.  My co workers that also have the exact same model don't have any issues with their machines, but they also haven't installed the updated firmware for the USB 3.0 controller.
Has anyone else had this problem and been able to find a resolution?  Is anyone aware of any way to downgrade the firmware on my USB 3.0 controller so I can get my webcam back?
Thanx in advance for any help/suggestions.

I have a similar recurring problem; my camera keeps dying. Every program I run sees it fine and says it's working, but I never get anything but a blank screen. I sent the laptop (a W510 as well) in for repairs and they replaced the mobo and that fixed the problem for a while, but now it's happening again. I feel like it must be something I'm doing, but I don't know how that could be if replacing hardware would fix it temporarily.

  • X1 Carbon integrated camera working but not showing any image after Windows 8.1 upgrade

Good afternoon, sundely after I upgraded Windows to version 8.1 64x my integrated camera stopped sending image to any program that uses it, the green light goes on but there is no image. Before worked just fine.I have tried to uninstal and install again camera drivers, installed Lenovo dependency package, etc....no solution. Please help? Thanks Sergio

I resolved my issue by going to device manager selected View then View Hidden Devices.
    Expand System Devices
Found two IWD BUS devices and one had the yellow triangle. I uninstalled that item and restarted my Carbon X1 and the error was gone. The original working IWD BUS remains active.

  • Integrated camera driver

So I was attempting to fix my camera and I was told by the self help on this website to uninstall and reinstall the driver device software however it did not say where to save this new software to and after uninstalling the software I realized that when I installed the software it did not save to the right location and now my webcam "doesn't exist" on my computer which is quite frustrating does anyone know where to put the device software to fix this problem?

    bump
Maybe this year someone will know.
In Vista the camera works, but the sound does not work with Skype. The Skype test call service records sound fine, but when I'm on a Skype call, my mic does not work. I have unmuted it in the audio controls.
However, as stated before, I'm looking for the integrated camera to work in XP. If I must run Windows, it will not be Vista.
[edit] I have once again removed the Integrated Camera, this time through it's entry under
Start > All Programs. When I did, Windows automatically installed software for it listed as:
     USB Video Device
with a driver version 5.1.2600.2180 from Microsoft.
The camera now works in Skype. The Skype test call works, but I have not raised anyone in Skype to test actual video and sound with yet.
However, now there are 5 items showing up through Device Manager under:
    Sound, video, and game controllers
which have exclamation marks. I've posted a screenshot to one of my websites here:

  • T500 Laptop Model 2242-CT0 - Integrated Camera No Longer Shows in Devices

Laptop is about 14 months old. Integrated camera was working fine.  I was using Skype the other day & it could not find the camera. I went into Devices & uninstalled the driver. Then the camera disappeared from Devices altogether.
I downloaded/installed the latest driver for the camera:  version 1.32.500.0 (7tca23ww.exe), rebooted, but the device list still does not show in devices (yes-"Show Hidden" is selected).
    Running Win 7 64 bit.
Latest updates for windows are installed.   I periodically get an error message popping up that "Device driver failed install", but that's it.
Attempts to run hdwwiz to install the camera were not successful, as I do not see any "Camera" listed under the Ricoh drivers section.

    Hi HLemieux,
I researched your issue and this is what I found from the Lenovo Assisted Search:
"If your webcam on your laptop is not working, try these following steps:
    1. Be sure your webcam driver is installed. (It can be found at http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/ot/en/DriversDownLoads/Drivers.html)
    2. By checking the webcam if it is disabled by Fn+Esc.
If you see the cross line on the webcam sign press to Fn+Esc to enable the webcam.
    3. If you do not see the webcam sign on the right corner of display after pressing Fn+Esc, be sure your Energy Management is installed. (It can be found at http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/ot/en/DriversDownLoads/Drivers.html)
After you download the Energy Management driver from Lenovo Website, install the software.
During energy management installation if you see the window as below “Utility” must be selected for Fn hot-key application (Utility is a software package under EM)
    4. After installation of Energy Management please perform step 2 to enable Webcam if it is disabled."
Try this and let us know how it works for you.

  • Samsung Integrated Camera not working with Skype

    Hi,
I have a Samsung ES7000 series TV with an integrated camera.  When using the Skype app, this initially works for approximately 1 minute but then a message appears on the TV saying “Connecting USB Camera and Mic”. This results in getting disconnected from the video call.
I have contacted Samsung on a number of occasions and after performing a number of checks without success to fix the problem, they suggested that this is probably a Skype app issue and I should contact Skype.
Could you please help resolve this issue?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I wonder about the message, which is "Connecting USB Camera and Mic".
Did you have a software upgrade for TV?
At that time, did you unplug the power cable by force?
I recommend "please do a upgrade software of TV"
The upgrade is through the Network.
You can see the upgrade button at "Main Menu --> Support --> Software Upgrade --> Online".
    IMPORTANT.
After upgrading TV, it will be automatically reboot.
Please, Don't power off until finishing upgrade by force.
    I hope your success!!
    Thanks.
