T400 LCD Inverter Questions

Hello Everyone
I'Ve got a few questions about the LCD Inverters. First of all:
Is there a difference between 41W1479 and 41W1478? There must be, because they are different numbers, but wherein lies the difference?
Secondly, I've built in a 41W1478 card where there was a 41W1479 before. Had lots of flickering in the first try, then re-installed the card, and after that, it stopped working completely. Any idea on what i did wrong?

The inverter that was inside before didnt work (screen was all dark), the new one was flickering. Then i turned it off, re-connected the inverter, and when i turned it on again, the screen was all dark as well...
Are you sure its the motherboard? because replacing an expensive part isn't really the solution i was hoping to find, tbh

Thinkpad T400 LCD problem

Dear Lenovo Expertise,
My thinkpad is T400; 7417-CTO.
For past one wk, their is a constant "thin yellow" line in the right corner of LCD. It sometimes disappears when I press corner of LCD. But still it re-appears. Its driving me nuts.
Pls tell me what to do. Do i need to replace it ?

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone would have on hand or know where to find information on the display specifications for the T400 LCD TFT display (WXGA, LED backlight).
Specifically I'm looking for:

Do I understand correctly that you bought a complete new LCD Assembly? Do you have proof from the seller that it was working properly before you bought it?
Can you see a picture if you use a torchlight over the panel?
A faint dark picture could be a defective LCD cable, inverter/LED card or a defective LCD backlight. Since you see a picture I would rule out a motherboard fuse problem.

Inserting upside down question marks/Inverted Question marks into database

Hi All,
When I am inserting any special character into database it is
inserted as upside down question marks/Inverted Question marks.
When I am trying to display the same string throgh the application
the special characters are displaying as small square box.
NLS Parameters are as follows:-
NLS_LANGUAGE AMERICAN
NLS_CHARACTERSET UTF8
NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET UTF8
NLS_RDBMS_VERSION 9.2.0.4.0
can any body help in this?

What are any "special character" and how do you insert them?
Have you verified what is stored in the db, e.g. with select string, dump(string,1016) from table ...
What character set (or locale) does the app/os use, and is NLS_LANG set accordingly?
The square box often means that the font used does not have the proper glyph to represent (display) a character. In your case this may be a consequence of improperly storing or retrieving character data.

T400 LCD problem

hi guys, my t400 lcd does not included led backlight, and i feel it is terribly dim compare to other notebook such as compaq v3000 and hp dv2000, what is going on? i heard someone said t400 lcd without led backlight are good too, but my lcd seems dim even though i switch to screen brightness to the max, it is not totally dark but it looks dim, can you guys help me?

also do you have the switchable graphics card version? if so switch to intel by going to the power saving mode, and see whether the internal LCD still have this problem.
But what you are describing sounds like an issue with the LCD panel itself, you can get a new LCD for around 150 to 200 dollars on the net.

LCD inverter compatibility

I want to replace the LCD inverter of my laptop HP G61 420SL and I wanted to ask if I can use an inverter board of another
HP G61 laptop.Are all G61 models compatible with each other regarding inverter boards?

I think that is a serial number so no two will be alike. As long as the inverters are phycically the same, and REO is saying all G61s that have an inverter use the same one, you will be OK.

Case sensitive Inverted Question Marks

In Indesign CC I am trying to change all the inverted question marks and exclamation marks to their case sensitive versions, so that capital IQMs are in front of cap letters and cap IEM are in front of cap letters, but lowercase versions are in front of lowercase letters. The different question marks have the same unicodes, but different GID numbers (I believe the same is true for the exclamation marks). Is there a way I can use a GREP search to find and replace these inverted marks to make this happen? If so what GREP command(s) would I use? (If this can't be done using GREP is there another way to do this besides manually replacing them all, which is just not happening).

Inverted Question Mark

Hi All,
In forms 10g when we had entered pound symbol in a text item (using alt + 156) it comes exactly as pound and i am able to save and re-query it. But when the same is inserted through a insert script through sqlplus the pound symbols comes as inverted question mark.
Why is this due to. Help in this is greatly appreciated.

Nothing has been given for NLS_LANG parameter in client for Sql Plus before inserting those records.

Inverted question mark (¿) displayed insted of euro sign (€)

Hi folks,
when I'm trying to open an existing report (created and built on colleagues machine) in my Report Builder (v 10.1.2.0.2) instead of euro sign (€) is displayed inverted question mark (¿).
When I open this report with other machine, everything is fine. So it looks to me, that something is wrong with my machine - some settings.
I compared Regional and Language settings within Control Panel,in register NLS_LANG (AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252) - on both machines and it is the same.
What can cause this problem?

Yes I have, I checked character codes on my machines.
I reinstalled Oracle forms and reports (10gR2) and after re-installation it is working fine. I have no idea what causes this problem.

T400 LCD Screen has a dark piont within half year.

T400 LCD has a dark point within half year, which I bought Oct. 2008. Could I get some change or warranty?

LCD Inverter

Hello, the other day I dropped my laptop the HP Pavillion 17 notebook and the backlight went out, and due to some testing ive found the LCD inverter is broken. Anyone know if I can get another inverter or I have to replace the screen completly

Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for your model. There is no reference to a backlight (other then keyboard) or inverter for specific parts in the display assembly. You can replace the whole assembly there are instructions on page 65 for removing it.

Bulge on the upper right of T400 LCD bezel

Hi all,
Recently I notice there is a small bulge on the upper right of my T400 lcd bezel, specifically near the opening claw there. Is this normal ? I have been using for a month I jst notice it recently.

T400 LCD dim issue - Need help!!

I'm having a LCD dim issue with a T400. Have changed the LCD panel, LCD cable and systemboard but still having same issue. If i removed the lcd card, then the display is working fine. I've tested the lcd card in another working unit and it's working as well (means the lcd card is working). I use a working lcd card and plug into this T400 but LCD still dim.
I've try to switch the problematic lcd cable and lcd panel to a working systemboard and it kills the systemboard. Have try to switch a few things but still unable to find the root cause. Urgently need help on this. Any advice will be appreciated.

i suggest uninstalling your current graphic card driver, let windows install its own generic drivers and see if that makes any difference
