phone , stuck with black screen with apple logo ..
    how can I fix this

    Greetings r1042,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that your iPhone is not booting up past the Apple logo. In this situation, I would recommend working through the troubleshooting steps located in the attached article.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
If your device gets stuck during startup
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
    Have a great day,
    Joe

Downloaded a movie from iTunes to my iPad. 2 minutes into the movie it stopped and My Videos is stuck in black screen mode. So basically rented a movie and never watched it.

The EXACT same thing happened to me last night!  Rented a movie; it had barely started and then froze.  When I touch the video app icon, all I get is a blank, dimly lit screen.  None of the other videos I own will display either.  Was your problem ever resolved?

Stuck with black screen with Apple and download bar approx 1 quarter done. Downloading Yosemite. It has completely stopped. I can't access anything. Please help

You should really read the manual.
"How do you restore from backup? "
Restore.  When given the choice, choose to use backup.
"And how can I check to see if the pics and videos are on my computer somewhere first??"
They would only be where you put them.  What program did you use to import them?  Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all.  You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

    Hi
My lumia 720 suddenly stuck and black screen with Nokia Symbol is displaying I have tried for soft reset but it doesnt work will someone help me its very urgent
    varun

You can try to perform the soft reset again. If this would fail, below hardware key reset combination is what I can suggest. This deletes all the personal content of the phone.
    Option 2: Hardware key combination
Use this option if the phone fails to fully switch on when pressing the power on key.
Note: No warning about data loss!
Nokia Lumia with Windows Phone 8
    Step 1
Make sure the charger is disconnected.
    1. Switch the power Off.
    2. Press and hold the Volume down and connect the charger, if succeed an exclamation mark (!) is shown on the screen.
    Step 2
Then input the keys in the following order:
    1. Volume up
    2. Volume down
    3. Power
    4. Volume down
    Step 3
The phone will reset and boot up automatically. Please note that this may take several minutes.

  • Can't boot to windows, stuck at black screen (with cursor)

Hi! I'll get straight to my problem: I can't boot to Windows (Windows 10 Technical Preview) anymore after installing VirtualBox (or rather, an Android emulator that installed VirtualBox) on my system. I get stuck, after the loading animation with the blue HP logo, on a black screen (I can move my cursor around) but the login screen never shows up.
    The problem.
I'm currently dual-booting linux and windows for several purposes. My laptop came with a Windows 8.1 OS by default. Some time after the Windows 10 Tech Preview came out to public, I upgraded my system to Windows 10 (so my 8.1 is gone now). Everything's going well until I installed this Android emulator (which installed VirtualBox) on Windows 10. Everything seemed fine at first but after rebooting, Windows isn't working anymore. I can still boot to linux, but Windows just won't boot properly.
    What I've tried.
I've tried A LOT of things. The problem actually happened twice already (at first I was able to fix it with System Restore but not this time around). I have a Windows 8 USB Recovery Drive at hand, just so I can access a Windows command line. It's not from my system, though. It came with a new windows 8 laptop of a friend so I just borrowed it.
1: System Restore. This worked the first time. But now the restore won't finish and throws an error, telling me that it can't restore my system.
2: Refresh PC. "There was a problem refreshing your PC. No changes were made." or something like that.
3: chkdsk on C:\. It says it changed some files, but it doesn't really fix the problem.
4: sfc /scannow. Again, something happened, but it didn't get fixed.
5: bootrec.exe to fix BCD and MBR. Doesn't work. (as far as I know my sytem is using GPT)
6: Hard reset (remove all power sources then hold power button). Still not working.
7: System Restore again. All the restore points aren't working. It reaches a "Finished" state, but then an error comes up after. It says can't extract a specific file, and the restore point is damaged or might have been deleted during restore.
8: checking and fixing bad sectors (nope, no bad sectors on my hard drive)
9: built-in component tests. It passed all of them, except the battery test (my battery really isn't surviving for any duration longer than 30 minutes, but that shouldn't affect my OS). I didn't try the really long tests since I thought it wouldn't matter as my problem is most probably completely software (since linux is still working).
10: cry. oh please. Windows isn't working. What should I do? (
    Things I haven't tried.
1: RAM and CMOS battery reset.
    2: Reset PC.
    3: Format hard drive.
4: Test hard drive on another laptop's system.
If possible I'd like to avoid getting my hard drive wiped, since I have a lot of stuff to backup (more than 300 GB of files + dozens of linux apps and ppas), and I only have a 32GB USB drive to backup all the files I need).
    Thanks for reading.

Sorry for the delay. Wasn't expecting the "road work" signs when attempting to check back with you in the AM here.
As others have already mentioned, the prompt for file systems occurs during text mode setup. Quick or Full? FAT or NTFS? How do you know what to do?
We'll start with file systems, short and sweet. Most any OS can read and write FAT volumes without fail which makes FAT ultra-portable, and the only choice if you want to let Mac OS write documents on your Windows volume. It's also more efficient on drives of 16 GB or less. However, FAT has no folder-level access control, so any file in the system can be manipulated by any user or by any system process. By contrast, NTFS is far more restrictive. It can only be manipulated under Windows, though other systems may be able to read it. Not only do you get the access control that FAT lacks, but you also get superior efficiency on large volumes, plus the power to compress or encrypt folders and files at will (in "business" flavors of Windows only--and yes, Vista Ultimate counts as "business" even though it will be supported much like a "consumer" version).
On format speeds: A quick format is very handy if you have a large partition or a single drive completely dedicated to Windows. Because it completes in 30 seconds or less, it will go a long way toward completing your Windows install. However, in some cases, volumes formatted with a quick format may have reliability issues. They must have fixed this in Vista, because Vista can only format at the "quick" speed.
A full format tests all blocks of a given volume (as opposed to testing an entire disk unless the volume itself is the entire disk) as the file system structure is laid down. Bad blocks are marked as "used" when they are found. This type of format takes much longer as a result of all the testing, but the result is a more stable volume from the start.
Get past the formatting stage, and you'll be right as rain.

  • Desktop stuck at black screen with cursor in normal mode but boots fine in safe mode after updates.

After running some updates the other night my laptop stopped loading the desktop and just gets stuck at a black screen with a cursor after I log in to the user account. The only thing I can do from there is do ctrl+alt+delete, then log off or restart.
I can't open up task manager. I tried creating another account in safe mode thinking there was an issue with the account but I still have the same issue. In event viewer I have two warnings one is
event 6000 winlogon, The winlogon notification subscriber <GP Client> was unable to handle the notification event
and event 4006, winlogon The windows logon process has failed to spawn a user application. Application name. Command line parameters: C:\Windows\system32\userinint.exe.
As well as error event id 1003, CertificateServicesClient Certificate Services Client failed to invoke the Providers in response to event 512. Error code 2147956401
and error 1001, certificate services client. certificate services client failed to load provider pautoenr.dll. error code 14001. I checked the registry and the path points to the right directory for userinit. I have tried running
System Repair but no errors were found, and I ran sfc /scannow and no errors were found either. The computer did not have System Restore enabled and I do not want to restore to factory settings. I also ran registry mechanic and it found no errors. Any suggestions
    besides restoring to factory settings?

    Hi,
We may try to reinstall Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for a test.
In addition, let us perform the following steps.
    1. Click Start, Run, type lusrmgr.msc then ENTER.
    2. Select Groups in the left pane.
    3. Double-click Users in the right pane.
    4. Click Add, and then click Locations. Scroll to the top of the Locations dialog and select the local computer name, then click OK.
    5. In the Enter the object names to select field, type Interactive; Authenticated Users (separated by a semi-colon). Then click OK.
    6. Restart the computer.
Or we can run the following commands from a command prompt:
    Net localgroup Users Interactive /add
Net localgroup Users "Authenticated Users" /add

  • Dv6 Notebook "Black Screen" following "Windows Blue Screen" error message. Caps Lock blinking!

I have a HP DV6 notebook. I left my computer on overnight and the next morning I woke up to find a Windows Blue Screen error message. It said to restart my computer. I was in a rush so I just closed the lid. When I returned I opened the lid and the screen was black. I pressed the power button to restart it and I haven't been able to restart it since. I now have a power light, a black screen and the CAPS LOCK light is blinking twice then a pause! Please help!

    Hi btgclark,
I understand that you are having an issue with turning on your notebook and the CAPS LOCK light blinks twice and then pauses. The following document 'Computer Does Not Start and the LEDs Blink or the Computer Beeps' will walk you through the steps that you need to follow. For your error code, it means that the BIOS has a corruption failure. This document will walk you through the necessary steps to get this resolved.
If for some reason this document does not resolve the issue please provide me with the model number to your notebook. I have included a document 'How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?'
Please let me know how this works out for you, thank you.

  • Windows 7 on Boot Camp stuck at black screen with blinking cursor... starts up fine in Parallels desktop

    Hi,
Recently my dad's Windows 7 (Ultimate 64-bit) on his Mac Pro has stopped working. It gets stuck at a black screen with a blinking cursor. I've waited at least five minutes and it doesn't do anything, I have to power it off.
However it starts up perfectly fine and intact in Parallels desktop. If I insert the original installation DVD and boot from the Disc that says 'Windows' it will boot into the partition and work fine, unless I press a key to boot from the DVD.
I find both these things to be strange. The partition is backed up, which is fine, but I'd rather not have to re-install it if possible.
I have booted from the DVD and tried to repair the disk. It said it found a problem with something related to startup and that it needed to restart to repair it. I clicked yes, and then held alt/opt and (I think wrongly) booted back into the disc rather than the Windows partition. However it now says that it can't detect any problems.
In the repair my computer section when booting from the DVD, it detects the OS as Windows Vista Business. I followed these steps I found online:
Fixed! Peroblem was I think using OEM, which Bootcamp advise against using... they advise to use retail only. Fixed like this:
    1. Put the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start your computer.
    2. Hold down Option key till all available disks are displayed and select DVD. Press a key when you are prompted.
    3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then 4. click Next.
    5. Click Repair your computer.
    6. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
7.In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.
    Type (these commands are safe)
    Code: Bootrec.exe /FixMbr
    Code: Bootrec.exe /FixBoot
    Code: Bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd
    *Press ENTER after each command.*
    *Restart your computer.*
    Done. Rockin'
FixMbr was successful, as was FixBoot. However RebuildBcd reported that it found no Windows installations.
Does anyone know what could be wrong here? I should note that recently I removed the drive Windows 7 is installed on and put it back in. Also Windows Updates probably have been done by my dad. Not sure if they could be the problem.

    Cult, welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you have a failing power supply unit (PSU).  This will cause the symptoms that you describe.  If the computer isn't getting enough power, it can cause numerous problems.  You can try disconnecting any unnecessary components to see if it will boot.  Here is a guide to help you troubleshoot the problem.

  • Iphone is stuck in black screen white apple logo.Help!

I had a notication to update my IOS so I let the update run from my phone. Now my phone is stuck on black background with white apple logo. It has been this way for about 45 minutes. I tried connecting to itunes. Trying to restore my phone. Tried turning it off and on. Nothing is working. I have it plugged in right now and I am holding down the power and home buttons, it goes black for a couple seconds and then the logo pops right back up. Any advice?? I can't get the phone out of this screen.

You may have to place the phone in DFU mode and restore to factory condition using iTunes. Search the web for the procedure.

My Macbook Air has black screen, I can hear the apple chime when power is pressed but is stuck on this black screen.
Also had beeps, 3 beeps was able to stop doing command/alt...
    What is going on???

3 Beeps on POST usually indicates a memory problem.
You will need to take it in for service, as you can't even so much as re-seat the memory on an Air.

  • Videos show up as black screen on burned blu-ray

I've just created a blu-ray project with about 20 timelines.  I created an 35GB ISO file which I burned to a dual layer BD-R disc.  Everything seems to work fine when I play it back on a blu-ray player except for 6 videos/timelines.  They play as a black screen and it seems to freeze up the player for a few seconds as I can't press the menu button to get back to the menu for a while.  All the files were created in Media Encoder with the exact same settings, so I don't think it's a compression settings problem.  All the files are different formats so I know it's not a format issue -- the black screen videos are 1080i, 1080p, and 480i, and the videos that work are 1080p, 1080i, 480i, and 720p.  I'm recompressing the offending videos at the moment hoping that something went wrong there, but between that, building the project, and burning, a new disc won't be ready for a few hours.  Does anyone have any advice in the meantime?
On a related note, I've recently started getting an internal error 11 on some of builds, but I don't remember what file it was having trouble finding.

The navigation is a simple list with buttons, each one linking to a single timeline.  All timelines except for one have only a single audio and video asset.  The videos themselves are an assortment of formats, 480i, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, but the ones showing up as black are not a single format, so that can't be the issue.  All were compressed in Media Encoder with the default Blu-ray H264 setting (I also checked render maximum depth and use maximum render quailty on them all).  The original sources are quicktime reference files from Avid Media Composer.  Encore says that none of the files need to be transcoded for blu-ray, and they all play in Encore's preview.
I've been creating a BD disc image so far.  I did try to create a BD folder, but that was when I was getting the error 11.
    Thanks for any help...
