T400 with 5100N intel wireless only getting 72 MB max speed.

I have a Airlink 101 150N router that works at full speed (150 MB) with all my other N adapters except my new T400 that has a 5100N wireless adapter.  It only gets 72 MB rate max at full signal strength.  Any suggestions?

Found the problem.  Under Device Manager/network adapter/5100, deselect Value/Use default value (20mhz) and set to Auto.  Works MUCH faster now and says 150 Mb.

  • Why am I only getting 0.24mbs download speed on my ipad over my wifi when my Microsoft laptop is working massively faster?

Why am I only getting 0.24mbs download speed & 0.47mbs upload speed on my ipad over my wifi when my Microsoft laptop is working massively faster?
I have a EE BrightBox wifi router and other devices in the house are working perfectly only problem I have is with my Apple products.

    Hi,
Don't have a Mac, using new ipad,  iPhone 5&4s both with ios7 but it's soo slow, Microsoft laptop is working fine over wifi so it has to be Apple devices that have the problem. Have tried all of the suggested fixes on forums but still no joy.

  • Problem with 5.1 sound, only getting stereo [Geforce GT 610]

Hi, this is going to be a bit long, but bear with me.
    HARDWARE
    HTPC:
    - Corsair VX 450W, PSU
    - Gigabyte GA-EG45M-DS2H, motherboard
    - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, CPU
    - Kingston HyperX DDR2-800 4 GB (2×2048), RAM
& - Asus Geforce GT 610 (installed today)
    SOUND SYSTEM:
    - Samsung HT-TXQ120
    HISTORY
I have an old HTPC build I want to use again (been in storage for a year while living away). It was previously running Ubuntu, and was connected to my (also old) Samsung HT-TXQ120. The audio connected to the HT-TXQ120 via SP/DIFF and HDMI directly to my HDTV. Back when I first configured this the intel drivers were buggy with both audio and video on HDMI at the same time therefor the SP/DIFF. This setup worked fine for years.
Fast forward to today, and I want to get the HDMI audio/video working.
    - The intel g45 sort of works, but the audio drops a few seconds every 2 minutes. I have not managed to get this working.
    - I was a bit fed up, so I researched for recommended video/audio card for HTPC and saw that Asus Geforce GT 610 was recommended and cheap. I bought that, and installed it. Uninstalled all intel drivers, and installed nvidia ones. So far so good.
    PROBLEM
The new card will not output 5.1 sound to my HT-TXQ120. 5.1 surround output shows up in the sound preferences, but when I test it I only get sound on my front left and front right channel. The rest is silent. I have tried with speakertest, test in audio settings, VLC, mplayer, XBMC and Plex.
Any help to get for this issue? Is the only solution to go back to using HDMI for video only, and sound through SP/DIFF?

    Two things to check:
    1) Open the "Sounds and Audio Devices" control panel. On the Volume tab, click the "Advanced" button. Is the speaker setup "5.1.."?
    2) Open the quicktime control panel. On the "Audio" tab, check that the Channels is 5.1.
If you changed either of the above settings, restart the application you're testing with and try again.
If that doesn't work, try checking the "safe mode (waveout only)" box in the Quicktime control panel (audio tab). Again, restart the application and try again.
    Hope that helps,
    Rob

  • 3702i only getting 10MB/s transfer speed

I am in the process of configuring a 3702i access point, but I am running into an issue where I cannot get over 10MB/s. I have the access point plugged into a gigabit port and have a power adapter plugged into the 3702i since I do not have a POE+ capable switch. I only get around 5MB/s on 2.4GHz radio and 10MB/s on the 5GHz radio which is not any faster than our old aironet 1100 AP. I have tried messing with the data rates but it does not make a difference. The properties on my wireless card show that the connection speed is 217Mbps.
Below is the switchport settings and I attached my configuration file if that helps at all.
    4506-2#show run interface gi6/48
    Building configuration...
    Current configuration : 213 bytes
    interface GigabitEthernet6/48
     switchport access vlan 95
     switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
     switchport trunk native vlan 95
     switchport trunk allowed vlan 94,95
     switchport mode trunk
     no cdp enable
    end

After changing the channel width to 80MHz I get an average of 17MB/s transfer speed and it shows that my connection speed is 405Mbps which should give me around 50MB/s.
Wired I get an average of 100MB/s-112MB/s for my transfer speed

  • High speed expanded internet t only getting 0.38 upload speed

I need at least 0.60 upload speed for my new job so i switched isp to Verizon for the expanded highspeed which was supposed to cover that speed (3.84 - 7.84 kpbs they advertise) i need for Hd live stream. when i first set it up it was high enough  but now  it is consistently down to 0.39. I have spoken to 3 robotic online techs who try and tell me this is the fastest i can get in my area and that is a good spped and it is not- on speedtest.net my upload speed of 1.29 mbps and 0.39 mpbs rate a grade of F!
Fios is not available in my part of l.a  yet but they have it the next neighboorhood oover in snata monica.
No one will help me fix the problem. When i spoke to billing they said it looked like there was some kind of problem blocking my line but these techs i spoke with can't find it and just go through the script they are taught i suppose.
can anyone help? my laptop is only a year old and i connect directly to ethernet cable. i defragged and clean computer but no change.
Help or i am going to have ti try and switch to ATT U verse. My modem is an Actiontech.
    HELP

Chances are slim if you're in a Verizon area that AT&T U-Verse would be available. AT&T and Verizon typically don't overbuild on each other except in very few, specific circumstances. Besides, I personally wouldn't order U-Verse due to their 300GB/m data cap. DSL Resellers are always an option, but whether or not they can deliver the desired speed is up to the line, up to their equipment or more often than not, up to Verizon.
For this issue, you may have been "optimized" if you saw the speed you desire earlier. Would you be willing to supply your modem Transceiver Statistics? If you're not sure how to get this, please let me know what your modem make and model is.

  • Problems connecting on Wireless 802.11n with my T61 with Intel Wireless AGN

Hi, I live in Thailand and have a similar problem as others with my Intel Wireless AGN connection as others.  I have a D-Link Model DSL-2740B Rangebooster N ADSL2/2+ Modem Router. It is supposed to support 802.11n draft wireless connections of up to a maximum of 270 MBPS versus 54 MBPS for 802-11G wireless. Of course, I don't expect it to reach the maximum transfer speed, particularly here in Thaiand, however I would expect it to produce results better than the 54 MBPS rate for 802-11G. I first tried it on my ThinkPad T61 which incorporates Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN. When connected, it shows a speed of 54MBPS (802-11G) instead of higher wireless 802-11n speeds. I've upgraded my router to the latest firmware and have tried different configurations with no improvement in performance. One think I have noted is that when I make an on-line configuration change to my router configuration then select "apply", immediately my ThinkPad rate changes to 150 MBPS momentarily then my connection is lost (to be expected as the router changes are being implemented), followed by reconnection of wireless signal only to return at 54 MBPS again. I also have an older ThinkPad model without built-in wireless capability so I purchased a Belkin wireless 802.11n USB adapter to connect to my router. Again, the maximum connection is at 54 MBPS. When I repeat configuration changes to my router as I did above, my ThinkPad connection momentarily changes to only 1 MBPS instead of 150 MBPS as in my other T61 ThinkPad then reverts back to 54 MBPS once the configuration changes have been completed. Has anyone successfully used wireless 802.11n successfully at the higher transfer rates (above 54 MBPS)? Is it possible that my TOT Goldcyber connection speed is artificially limited? I notice that my rated speed for my desktop computer connected to my same D-Link DSL-2740B only indicates a rated speed of 100 MBPS. I use Vista Home Premium 64-bit on my destop, Vista Home Premium 32-bit on my ThinkPad T61, but us Windows XP Professional on my older ThinkPad. I feel that my problem is either with my ADSL carrier (TOT) or compatibility with my D-Link DSL-2740B Modem Router and my ThinkPad T61 internal wireless card and/or Belkin wireless n USB adapter. IT-City is letting me swap out the Belkin USB for the D-Link Rangebooster n DWA-140 USB adapter next week when they restock. The only other think that I can think of is that wireless n just doesn't work in Thailand and that maybe I should just stick with wireless G and go with a higher powered wireless USB model such as the business rated EmGenius EUB 362 EXT. Has anyone used this model and had good success with it; I've heard that it is a long range model and has the capability of reaching 108 MBPS through some sort of magic? Looking forward to reading your replies and possible solution.

    Hi!
Intel Wi-Fi cards support full 802.11n speed of 300 Mb/s working at 5 GHz range only. Your D-Link DSL-2740B works only in 2.4 GHz range. So to get 300 Mb/s you have to get another wi-fi router that supports 802.11n in both 2.4 and 5 GHz, for instance Lynksys WRT610N or Apple Airport Extreme or whatever.

    Right, sorry.
Anyway, I got it to boot with that, but now I've realized that's not what I needed, I have an Atheros card.
Thing is, I can't get it to work during the setup.

Hi, the company I work for is running Senforce 3.2 (the old name for Endpoint Security). It is conflicting with the Intel Wireless drivers in a batch of new laptops (both trying to start/stop the drivers at same time).
Would like to know if anyone has seen similar behaviour, or what a possible solution might be.

  • T61p Intel Wireless Wifi Link 4965 AGN driver upgrade

    Hi,
I have T61p (XP 32bit) with wifi Intel Wireless Wifi Link 4965 AGN. Recently I tried to upgrade driver to version 13.xxxx but after installing the driver the wifi card doesn't work. To make it work I had to revert the driver to version lower then 13. Has anyone experienced this problem?
    Thanks

did you download the Lenovo driver, or did you down load the driver from Intel?
Lenovo writes alot of their own drivers for things like wifi cards, its possible that by downloading Intel's driver, it isn't compatable with thinkpads.

  • EA6500 - 50mb Internet Connection only gets half

I've got an EA6500 and I've got a 50mb internet connection, but when I connect tru the EA6500 I only get half of the speed but if I connect to my isp router I get the full speed

Yes, I{ve done all those tests, the isp is comcast.
I{m using wireless mainly, so If I connect to the EA6500 I only get half of the speed no matter what, ethernet or wireless is the same, I even changed the WWM configuration and its off now.

  • UP to 20mb only getting 5mb. Lied to YET AGAIN by ...

The 10 day period is now over (it has been 21 days) and I am only getting a constent pathetic speed of 5.5 MBPS. I was given a quote of 'up to 20mb' by the sales representative. As soon as my BB went active on the 28th November I was immeadiatly told by a forum mod that I am only able to get a maximum of 10MBPS. This raises several issues as follows:
-- THE 20MB QUOTE WAS GIVEN BY:
    1) The sales person I spoke to on the phone.
    2) BT speed checker before I bought the broadband.
    3) Online when I brought the broadband.
    4) In BOTH of the 'thanks for choosing BT' emails I was sent for me order.
Below is a screenshot of the relevant part of one of those 2 emails. Please see highlighted quite clearly in red the part saying that it should be 17mbps (I was quoted up to 20mbps but estimated 17mbps).
    Your broadband starts on:
    07 Dec 2011
    Your username is:
    ********.****.*******@btinternet.com
    Your password is:
    Your speed should be:
    17Mb
Your actual speed might be between10Mb and 19.5Mb - depending on how far you live from your exchange, your home's wiring and a few other things.
Find out what can affect your speed atwww.bt.com/yourbroadbandspeed
    When your service starts
Your service can start at any time up to midnight on the day it's due. We'll let you know when it's ready.
I have just re-run the BT speed checker on my line. Although the speed quoted is lower than I was initially quoted, it still says 6.5 - 15mb, with estimated speed at 10mb.
There are quite clearly 2 main issues here:
    1) I was quite clearly missold the 'up to' speed of 20mb.
    2) The broadband speed I am currently receiving is even lower than the NEW low speed estimates.
Please can you investigate this further for me because not only was I seriously messed around by BT for a month getting the broadband installed, now I find out that I am only receiving a QUARTER of what I was originally quoted.
PLEASE CAN A FORUM MOD PICK THIS ISSUE UP FOR ME AS DO NOT WANT ANY CONTACT WITH THE INDIA CALL CENTRE AGAIN AFTER MY BB SET UP FIASCO!!!!

  • Getting 1/2 the speed I'm paying for & in too much pain to be on phone for hours--HELP

My children do a Cyber school and have been getting disconnected from class for months now.  I'm also having losing the internet at random times on my desktop. A friend told me how to check my speed (since I know so little about computers) and I found out I'm only getting 1/2 the speeds I'm paying for!!!!  I've called Verizon customer service in WHATEVER COUNTRY 6 times now but I have to hang up after any longer than 35 minutes because of chronic pain!  Tech makes me turn off my router, check my speed, (when I know they can see the speed right in front of them, after 1 rep told me the speed without my asking) and computer share.   Nothing gets resolved, I NEVER GET THE CALL FROM A SUPERVISOR THAT WAS PROMISED, and Verizon closes out the problem after 72 hours!!  Seems  like EVERYONE ELSE HERE GETS THE SAME RUNAROUND AND LACK OF RESPECT!!  One billing person offered me a refund for the difference in speed for only 1 month and offered me to upgrade!!  I can't afford to upgrade and the Cyber will work if I would only get the speed I had when 1 started with Verizon in 2002!  I said UNACCEPTABLE and am having to call back once a week (because that's all I can handle)  to try to get a Supervisor!  Can anyone tell me how to get help without the exhaustion of being on the phone forever?!
All I know is I'm paying for 1.1-3 mbps but only getting .439-.864mbps download and 0.08-0.09 upload speeds and I have a Westfall 327W 8 year old modem.

Thank you for replying and sorry it took so long to respond.  Now I can't get into my Verizon email so I didn't know I had a response on this site. I was also physically unable to sit at my computer.  Here is the info you requested:
Transceiver Revision: 7.2.3.0   Vendor ID Code: 4   Line Mode: G.DMT Mode   Data Path: Interleaved     Transceiver Information Downstream Path Upstream PathDSL Speed (Kbits/Sec) 864 160 Margin (dB) 20.5 31.0 Line Attenuation (dB) 44.5 29.0 Transmit Power (dBm) 3.3 11.1
on 8/15 I had the slowest download speed yet of 0.17 mbps! I am paying for 1.1-3mbps.  My modem is 6 or 7 years old.  I'm not sure if I mentioned the last 2 sentences before.

    Retail Leopard disc looks like this;
(The disc itself has the same logo). If the one you've got is grey it simply won't work.
Given the retail and second hand prices of Leopard (usually some on Amazon MP), you'll probably find it cheaper to go directly to Snow Leopard, although there could be software updates and printer driver problems that could nullify the difference.
