T400s memory upgrade - right memory?

Hi,
I would like to ask you for advice. I have T400s 2808-DEG with 4GB of memory (2*2GB). I would like to upgrade from win7 32bit to 64bit and that's why I want to upgrade my memory from 4GB to 8GB as well. Even if I found in tech specs here which memory should be compatible (which aspects have to be right - DDR3, 1066 MHz) and I found memory kit here that should be working I am still just amateur. So, do you think this will be working ok for me?

I found another one: here it's Kingston. Do you think there is some difference? I can see there is difference just in price, I am from Czech Republic and this Kingston (they sell it just alone, so I have to buy two of them) is little bit more expensive.

T400s Memory brand?

i ordered a T400s today with 2GB DDR3 module. I would like to order from Newegg a 4GB SODIMM. Does anyone know the brand of memory that ships with this model, e.g., Crucial, Corsair, etc? The part number would be ideal as i could match the latency.

The brand is Elpida. On the SODIMM is:

Since the T400s uses the Mobile Intel GS45 Express Chipset that only supports 1033 (as opposed to 1333 which is Hynix H9 speed) that is the way to go.

this is the right type of ram and specification, but i am not sure you should go for the Corsair brand. I would go with other brands like Crucial, G.skill, Samsung, KIngston.

T400 graphic upgrade

Hi everyone,
Simple question for you guys:
Can I upgrade the graphic device for my Lenovo T400 (6474-CV3)??? Its currently a Intel 4500MHD and doesnt run much...
My first guess is no since most laptops have an integrated chips onboard for graphic but my BIOS lets me select between Integrated and PCI-Express for video device!!

Why can't Apple ever get upgrades right?

More a vent than anything else, but feel free to jump in.
I tried upgrading to iOS 5 tonight, and like every single other uprgade on every single apple device I own and there are a few, it fails. It fails for some just plain stupid reasons that I as an old IT guy just don't understand. To wit:
- Why does the upgrade have to talk to an upgrade server to verify things so often?
Once to verify the checksum on the upgrade file, once after it's applied. The system should never need to call back after that, everything (restore of files, apps etc) should be handled locally. No reason for Apple to verify them, in fact I should be able to do the enotre procedure offline.
- Why can I not download the upgrade on any install of iTunes vs just one?
It's upgrading, not adding or removing anything, so why do I have to clog up a system all night because the family iDevices were all connected here? But that's a whole other issue that's been flogged to death here.
- Why can't we download the files and upgrade the devices offline? See the above question as well.
I'm guessing that given the poor communication with apple's systems and the beating they're probably taking tonight with the verification traffic, someone's got to be thinking about this?
- Why does EVERY change want to delete everything on the device?
So stupid, not even going there. I have to delete eveything on my iPod to add ONE book? Really?
I keep hoping that some time they'll get it right, but now that Steve is gone (RIP good sir) I'm guessing not so much....

Even if you update a Microsoft product it too has to be verified by the host as a legitimate program that can be signed off as genuine. Things happen, though Apple's upgrading is far better than others. Getting frustrated with it only makes things worse as you can do things without knowing you clicked the wrong button or forgot to press a button.

console where only group administrator can execute some action.
Upgrade the group operator rights in a particular page of my admin consol.
I know that:
Operators: can view and modify all resource attributes and perform server lifecycle operations.
Administrators: can view and modify all resource attributes and start and stop servers.
Exemple: I want to give to my group operator the possibility to stop and start the servers
and in the same time i don`t want to add the group administrator to the operateur group.
How can i do that!

You can use JMX Policy Editor to achieve the same.. I mean if you want to give certain previledges to the the Operator which it doesnt have by default..

Yosemite upgrade, right after entering my account password, a file starts loading before my desktop appears. (I see a download bar as if a file is loading). Never saw that before Yosemite. I have a Macbook Air.

Some multiple issues since Yosemite install...working them out. But I am puzzled by this. Never witnessed loading of files before desktop since my Windows days! Is this normal? I am especially curious because right after upgrade, I had, and resolved an issue with DownLite that I did not know I had and somehow possibly got 'awakened' with Yosemite. Want to be sure all is good....

SAP BI4.0 upgrade right software

Hi - We are planning to upgrade from BO3.1 to BI4.0. I've downloaded the installation software from SAP download center. The version it is showing is SAP BI4.0 SP02 (support pack 02). Is this the right version to start the full deployment or I need to deploy BI4.0 base version. I'm looking for the right version to start with.

T400 SSD Upgrade Question Do I need a new drive caddy? My machine shipped with a 1.8" drive.

I'm planning on upgrading to a larger SSD in my T400. It originally shipped with a 1.8" 64GB Samsung SSD and I'm probably going to upgrade it to a 2.5" 7mm Samsung 840 (non-pro) SSD.
I'm not sure if the current caddy in the T400 is going to fit the new SSD, or if I'll need to purchase the 2.5" caddy. If so, does anyone know the FRU # of the caddy I'll need?

A couple issues to watch out for (x200/t400 generation)':
a) Sandforce drives (Sata Link Power managerment) issues. b) Samsung drives work well (just don't use bios disk passwords, works but confuses bios).
These are based on my experience upgrading my X200s.

2 successful Windows 10 upgrades right now!

This morning, I upgraded my work test machine to Windows 10 and everything went smoothly! All the features work and all is smooth. I still need to test our games to see which ones work right under the OS and which ones do not (Have already tested quite a few and keeping a list)
And then about 3 hours ago I upgraded a Gateway LT2030U Netbook with Windows 7 Starter. Basically I backed up my files, run the recovery disks on the unit and then stripped the unit of all it's junk. Then I went to the official Windows 10 USB download tool website and it downloaded the 32 bit edition of Windows for me. Everything installed fine and even though it's a little sluggish it's still better then what was on there before.
Now I am upgrading my HP Stream with Windows 10 64 bit Edition. This one is going to be a litle tricky. After using a Recovery on that unit, I am left with 18GB of storage space (stripping off all the unwanted programs and Start Menu titles and running CCleaner and Disk Cleanup)
Due to the limited storage space I am concerned about the unit not having enough room to work with after the upgrade. But I think it will be fine.
It's a nifty little operating system that MS came out with and I am having fun with it so far.

A few years ago I bought the mac mini and a few months later they upgraded with the intel chip. I am planning on buying the latest version and I'm wondering if anyone has heard if they're going to upgrade soon and should I just wait.
