T41 when starting nothing happens only fan goes
I'm working on my computer suddenly the screen shake for few seconds and then computer freeze, screen just went dark. When this happens, the fan is still going, and the hard drive light stop flashing. I have to power off, when starting again nothing happens only fan goes!!!

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like a motherboard problem...try connecting the machine to an external monitor and see whether it displays anything when turned on.

Sending by Dropbox where, To who, to what computer? As your does not start up.
You need to take at least the OS disc to a work Mac computer and create DMG from the OS install disc then restore that DMG to USB thumb drive. Then you can boot the computer from that thumb drive and install the OS. That is if your hard drive is functioning correctly.
Then you can use the App disc in the external CD/DVD drive to load up all the included Applications that come with your version of OS X. -

I have a MacBook pro late 2011 version it's not booting up so I am trying to boot from a USB recovery drive but when I select it nothing happens it jus goes to the restore options

So what you want is to be able to boot from OS X and retrieve your files
Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
Of course if it's not booting up, it's easier to fix in place

"Recovery HD" is a partition on your boot drive which you option or commnad r key held at boot time to get into and then repair the Macintish HD partition.
If you have this on a external USB thumb drive, then that's all it is, no OS X, programs or files.
If your talking a USB external drive, it has to be a OS X bootable clone made with Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper and the option key held at boot time gives you that boot option.
Most commonly used backup methods
So what your saying is you have a external clone and by holding the option key down at boot all you get is it directly going to Recovery HD?
There is no Startup Manager option to choose what to boot from?
This could mean Apple changed something, or your external bootable clone isn't one, or the wrong software used so it's not being recognized by Startup Manager as a bootable option.
What did you use to make the external OS X USB bootable drive? -
I tried to install an update on my phone and it went a screen that that said I had to connect to itunes, but when idid nothing happened and now I tried to restore my phone and it wont' activate

You could order the Full Retail Version of OS X (Black DVD with a silver X on it). Regarding always starting up in Open Firmware, in this thread a bloke had the same problem until he disconnected his peripherals before restarting. See if the entire thread helps:

Internet radio displays in library, but when "played" nothing happens
So I reguarly listen to Radio Northwick Park on my laptop using iTunes
The other week, i tried to listen as normal
I went to the website, clicked the "listen live" link and expected the file to download and itunes open and play the file
This all happened as per usual
However, although iTunes said the file was playing/streaming there was nothing happening.
I know its not the stream as I actually volunteer at the radio station and have spoken with their technical officer. As well as that my mates can listen using itunes and their laptops
I have tried it with other media players and nothing (VLC, WMP)
So that makes me believe its either a setting on my itunes, or something on my laptop?
PLEASE HELP!
PS - i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunesMy keychain password is also being requested but I don't know it

Iphone says connect to itunes but when connected nothing happens
Hi;
I am having a problem with my iphone. It was working fine yesterday and then just seemed to power off.
I plugged it into charge (wall socket) and after a while it was fully charged and the screen showed the "connect to itunes" logo.
I then unplugged it from the wall socket and attached it to USB on computer and opened itunes.
Then nothing happened, the phone screen is blank and not recognised in itunes or on the computer as a recognised device?
Anyone else seen this problem or know how to resolve it?

I have an I Phone 4 OS is 7.1.2. The phone indicates I need to update some apps. I go to the update screen select either all or an individual app. I select the update box. I am then asked to enter my PW. I do so and select OK. The update circle spins for a while the goes back to saying update. If I repeat the process the same thing happens. I know my PW is correct any ideas?
I have the same problem. I have a store ID my family all used to buy things. I have a different icloud id for me and icloud backups. Store account is setup properly, and I can download new apps. It does not ask for a password for these as the phone is signed into the store account. You can delete an app and reinstall it (using same store account) and it will reinstall no problem.
The only problem I found with this is some apps I'd previously download for free are no longer free. Once upon a time my store list would show me an icon that an app had been downloaded before (think its the cloud symbol). Now there is no indication of this.
Also seems like something is wrong with the store account. When I tried logging in to type this reply with message with my store ID it immediately gave me an error message and told me the link was possibly outdated. But logging in with my icloud ID this message will load. Try again on store ID, error message. Even though we can log into our store accounts via https://appleid.apple.com/ and manage the account...something seems broken with how its attached to our App store. (I'm at work so not able to log into itunes with store ID and see what happens) -

The download of a movie was interrupted I tried the check for rentals on settings but did't work .

A number of people have reported similar issues recently, most appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
Also check your payment details, make sure your details are exactly how they appear on your credit card statement, you might also try changing some of those details, saving them and changing them back again.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account and restarting your router.
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals. -
Mac Os 10.6.6 update start the fans goes crazy
Hi to all
Some months ago (almost a year from now) my mac start to become hot after only a few minutes it started up and the fan goes crazy but I never realize why. I made some search on the internet but the only answer I found was using some software to reduce fan speed. It didn't work. I run the Hardware test but nothing strange. I also took my macbook to an apple certified repair center but they told me that nothing was wrong. I also ask to another repair center but same thing. So I left my macbook as it was with this super fan noise all the time. A quite disturbing thing but there was no solution and for what I'm doing my machine is ok so why change it? (It was the only solution they gave me)
Last day my hd broke down so I had to replace it. I took my macbook pro a1211 model to an apple repair center they change the hd with a new one.
So I reinstall everything for the beginning. I took my snow leopard dvd formatted the new hd, installed the os, iWork 2008, iLife 2008, Mamp, CSS Edit, Espresso, Pixelmator and few other application such as Firefox, Camino, Etc...
I use the macbook with mac os 10.6, because I had to finish some work, and with my big surprise for two days the machine was super silent no fans, no hot body ..... nothing. I never reboot it and still no fans and hot body wow.
Today I wanted to install the developer kit with ios 4.2 and so I had to update the Mac os x to version 10.6.6 as soon as I made the update after the reboot the fans start again to go like crazy and after 15 minutes of work the macbook body become very hot.
The question is why?
Anyone can help me?

When I plug in my IPOD nano nothing happens!
Ive had my IPOD for about 2 years now and for the longest of time I would just plug it in and it would pop up sync. IPOD. Today I plugged it in and nothing happened it just goes to the recharging mode. Ive tried opening up itunes and nothing. Ive tried other computers and nothing wont even pop up...Can anyone help me?
I am also having this problem and it happened after I plugged it into a computer at my school and there was a 'power surge' problem.
It doesn't do anything other than going into charging mode and I don't even know if it charging it while it's doing that.

I click on the Library button in Encore (Nothing happens.)
Set: General (Nothing happens)
Toggle Display of Menus (Nothing happens)
What is going on?
Thank you.Do you have the Library files (the Functional Content) installed on your computer. When you navigate to them in Windows Explorer, are they there?
If not, they probably were not installed. This FAQ Entry might be useful, if that is the case.

Time machine does not work right since Lion install
