T410 and W510 - Charger & batteries compatibility

Hello,
I will try to be as brief as possible, pardon me for my ignorance on this topic.
My T410 is faulty beyond repair and I bought a W510. So I now have a spare AC Adapter and 2 spare batteries for T410. The batteries for T410 is the exact same size and can fit in the W510.
The details:-
T410 AC Adapter
FRU P/N: 42T4425
P/N: 42T4424
90W 20V
Output: 20V 4.5A
T410 6-cell battery
FRU P/N: 42T4791
P/N: 42T4790
NOM 10.8V 5.2Ah 57Wh
PSE 10.8V 4.76Ah
T410 9-cell SLICE battery
FRU P/N: 42T4739
P/N: 42T4740
NOM 11.1V 8.4Ah 94Wh
PSE 11.1V 7.74Ah
W510 AC Adapter
FRU P/N: 45N0053
P/N: 45N0052
135W 20V
Output: 20V 6.75A
W510 6-cell battery
FRU P/N: 42T4795
P/N: 42T4794
NOM 10.8V 5.2Ah 57Wh
PSE 10.8V 4.68Ah
With reference to the specs above, my questions are:
1) May I use the T410 6-cell and slice battery on my W510? If so, do I need to use the T410 adapter on my W510?
2) Will I kill my battery or my notebook...
a) ... if I use the T410 adapter on my W510?
b) ... if I use the W510 adapter to charge the T410 batteries slotted on my W510?
I regret for not paying attention in class
Any help appreciated.

seems like you are wasting your time.....Lenovo in their infinite wisdom have decided that you can either use a docking station or a stand, but not both! How ridiculous is that? I'm instead buying T400's that are still in stock (for a great price) and trying to source a docking station and stand from somewhere else as my supplier tells me they dont have any in stock and are unlikely to get more.
I think it is very poor that lenovo have removed this option....why would I want a stand that I coudnt dock with? This is a deal breaker for me, and I will be looking at other brands from now on due to this.

Hello, I have a T400 (2767-DR4) and purchased a Minidock 3 Plus 170W (4338), but the connectors appear incompatible.  The dock's description page at http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-76767 says its compatible with all T400s; thoughts?  Many thanks.

It is compatible with "T400s" models, not "T400" models. You need a 2504 dock, which is cheaper

  • T4i won't power up; tried 2 fully charged batteries and 2 sd cards

My Rebel t4i seems to have died after uploading photos yesterday.  Tried 2 fully charged batteries and 2 cards.  Checked the connections and it seems weird that the camera won't power on immediately after uploading photos.

The camera has a few power interlocks which will prevent the camera from powering up.  One is on the battery door.  One is on the SD card slot door.  There may also be one that detects if the memory card is fully seated.
Can you remove and *carefully* re-insert the memory card to make sure it's fully seated and in the correct orientation.  (label faces the back of the camera) and make sure the memory card slot door is able to close completely.  Also make sure the battery door is able to close completely.
Also make sure the doors are not damaged in any way (typically the doors have a tiny tab which engages a micro-switch.)

  • T410 Will not charge battery!

I have a T410 which does not charge the battery. I have installed the latest BIOS and Power Management software without any thing changing. I noticed that even with a fully charged battery if unplugged from the AC adapter it will die instantly as though the battery is dead! Could this be the system board? I'm not sure what else to try in diagnosing this issue.

    lead_org wrote:
it could be an issue with the battery. Call service support and they should direct you on what to do.
Well it appears it's not the battery or the software because I had another new still in the box T410, Type 2522-22U of which I used to interchange batteries and power adapter with. One last thing I tried was  switching hard drives with the factory fresh image on it and I found that O/S to behave the same way in this laptop. Still reports the battery at the same charge and not charging. Looks like its the system board. Apparently there is a circuit on it that regulates the charging process. That same battery in the NIB laptop charges just fine!

  • Do I get better results/ keeping the battery's life longer by charging only when it comes to 5-10% or should I let it empty and then charge it? Someone told me also to turn it off while I charge it... So help what is the best way to keep long life battery

I got the new iPad on June 2012 and I wish to keep the long life of the battery as much as I can. I always and only use the cable that comes with the product and never charge it through computer.
    Should I:
    1) wait till baterry is completely empty, pratectly dead and then charge it?
    2) charge it when it reach 5%-10%.
    3) turn off the iPad when I charge the battery?
    Thank you apple support :)

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • T410S and Linux Mint 17

    Hello,
for the past few months, I have been struggling with my T410S improperly loading my touchpad and onboard keyboard, attached is my thread on Linux Mint Forums:
    http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=173213&sid=978fb94f69bd40e470fb328e1cc35bdc
For a brief period of time I tried Ubuntu14.04.1 LTS, the driver issues most definitely disappeared but I really dislike the Ubuntu distro so I made a jump back to Linux Mint. The problem with my keyboard and touchpad persists.
I have been looking into understand if possible, to implement the drivers from Ubuntu onto my Mint OS.
So far I haven't been successful at all. I know how to fix the mouse problem after boot but it's a checkmate when my computer boots without the keyboard.
I have tried different kernel versions, apparently identical kernel did not solve my problems either.
I have spoken to a Masters student in Comp-sci and he recommended getting IBM/Lenovo module and modify the kernel which I am very inexperienced in.
Any help would be much appreciated at this point.
    Thank you for your time

I tested Linut Mint 17 out of my live USB drive when I got my T510 and W510 (similar generation as yours) and it worked perfectly.  The T510 was later running Debian for weeks without any keyboard/mouse/touchpad/trackpoint issue.
What happens if you try any other Linux distro out of a USB or DVD? Does it work? I'm trying to rule out a hardware defect

Here is some info on battery/charging for apple products.
~ They normally come 2/3 charged, so you would want to charge it right away if you want a 100% battery.
~ Keep it out of the sun because the sun will take away battery life.
    - See link below for a lot of information on Apple products and batery life.

I will look around for more information on this.

  • Lenovo W510 Charger.

    Hi,
Lenovo W510 comes with a charger ( AC Adapter ) which gives out 135W  and 20V [ Output : 20V  and 6.75A ]  and this charger is bigger in size and it is heavy to carry around.
I have a  lenovo T61P's Charger which gives out 65W and 20V [ Output : 20V  and 3.25A ] , but this is smaller in size and easy to carry around, Can this T61P's charger can be used for W510 whenever I carry laptop outside.
    Regards,
    Vijay.

    >How come Lenovo techs don't read them.
They do sometimes, but this forum is not a official support channel.
    >I bought a 510 thinking I would have EXTRA adapters
    >I believe this will be my LAST lenovo product.
No offence, but you cannot blame Lenovo for buying the wrong product. If using the old power is that important to you then T510 would have been a better choice and you should have made a bit more reseach before buying the computer. The information is easy to find using google, visit a forum, visit the Lenovo homepage or stop by a Lenovo dealer. You cannot expect computers to keep the backward compatiblility for ages and still include the latest technology.
W510 is the most powerful Lenovo 15.6" laptop so they require a lot of power as well. If this product require more power than the 90W adapter can provide it's a better option to create a new power adapter instead of sacrifice what is the whole point with the W series which is to create the most powerful laptop. I'm pretty sure that the customers that need/want the most powerful laptop available would prefer new and faster components/technology instead of making sacrifices just because Lenovo choose to stick with the old power adapter so the customer can save a few bucks. It's not like a power adapter cost a fortune either. It's like if i buy a car with two seats and later blame the manufacturer of the car because there are no room for my kids. In that case i can only blame myself for buying the wrong product.
The IT industry develop very fast and there has to be some sacrifices to be able to implement the newest technology. This is not unique for Lenovo and you will find the same for any laptop manufacturer if they want to keep up with the newest technology. If they don't their products will be outdated pretty fast.
I'm not sure what kind of bay adapter you bought, but the current one been available for pretty long now.

  • Think Pad 390 not charging batteries

My 390 is not charging batteries. I tried several known good batteries.
The power supply in the computer 'sings', I can hear it switching. Computer runs OK.
My power adaptor puts out 16 volts, is that correct?
Lowering the DC input voltage to 14 volts and I do not hear the 'singing".....

    > The FRU listing for the RTC battery is RTC ASM: 02K 6522. The old battery was a standard CR 1220.
That's correct. See e.g. IBM Thinkpad RTC Battery - 02K6522.
You can buy this battery inexpensively from FocalPrice providing you're willing to wait a couple of weeks for it to arrive from Hong Kong.
A CR2022 (I think that should be CR2032 or CR2016) won't work because the dimensions are different. With CR coin batteries the number iijj means ii = diameter in mm and jj = thickness in mm/10, e.g. 1220 is 12mm dia and 2.0mm thick.

  • Battery 0% and Not Charging

The battery in my mid 2010 13" Macbook Pro was getting low so I grbbed my 85W power adapter and plugged it in, but there was no light. I tried unplugging and reconnecting it in different directions but still nothing. I figured the power adapter was dead so I purchased a new 60W adapter and it won't charge the computer either. On both adapter the Battery Condition reads Normal and Battery is Not Charging. When plugged in with the 60W Power Source is Listed as the Power Adapter and when plugged into the 85W it is listed as running on batery. My battery is now at 0% and Not Charging. I have tried resetting the SMC but it didn't help. What should I do now?

After restoring to factory settings/new iPod you will then have to restore from backup
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • I recently downloaded a  bunch of songs an ringtones from Itunes on my phone. I synced up the phone to my computer to back up the files and to charge it and afterward all the new music and ringtones are gone?! Checked iTunes and they're not there either!

I recently downloaded a bunch of songs and ringtones to my iPhone 4 and when I synced my phone to my computer to back up the files and to charge the phones the ringtones and songs were gone. They disappeared from my phone and from my iTunes as well. I checked my my iTunes for downloadable items and there was nothing there. I went onto iTunes and tried to download the same things that I had previously and when I did it said I had already downloaded them? iTunes only gave me the option to purchase the music and ringtones again.  Does this happen often or is there something wrong with the software on my iPhone?

    Hi,
Did you have the music in your iTunes library on your computer when you signed up for match? How did you transfer the music from you iPhone to your computer? Do you have a back up.

Should have I let it to get discharged in order to fully charge it ? Somebody told me I should have let it discharged and then to fully charge, but I didn't do it, my iphone is working very well, the battery too but I'm worried if the battery lifespan is gonna get worsen soon if I didn't abide by the rules and procedures of battery charging.
I had problems on my previous iPhone 4s, it died because I didn't replaced the battery with a new one because my battery never worked well and I never knew it , the battery used to overheat my iPhone and it caused to damage my processor completely to death. Who does the replacement of the iphone processor?  I need help how to maintain with the iphone battery. And also let me know if I did something wrong that I should get worried about or not ?!?!

Apple does not fix the iPhone 4S, they replace the phone. If not covered by warranty, called an out of warranty exchange. Cost is US $199. Make an appointment at any Apple store.
Be aware, Apple does not sell iPhone parts, thus there is no legitimate source for genuine parts.
