T410 - Install NVIDIA & Intel HD drivers, or just install Optimus drivers?

Hi Folks,
I'm entirely confused about which drivers I should install.  Do I install NVIDIA and Intel HD drivers separately?  Or, do I just install Optimus drivers when they come out?  Or do I install all 3?
thanks,
alex

I would like to share with you that you need to update both drivers, first you need to update the Intel HD and then NVIDIA graphics software of your notebook from the below mentioned web link.
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page?
After this, please restart the notebook and check if the issue resolved.

  • Powerpc error when installing on intel mac, powerpc error when installing on intel mac

Trying to reinstall some software that used to work & no I receive the following error: “Spyder3Pro_Installer” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.  This happened on another application I was attempting to install as well.

Thank you for the reply, but I was able to fix it.  I'm sorry, I guess I didn't explain it well.  The apps were not for a powerpc & the mac is an intel.  For some reason the apps thought it was a ppc, so I'm not sure what happened.  I had Mountain Lion installed & the apps were working fine until the crash.  Just trying to put everything back & I get this error.  There is another app that I get the same error on, but not sure if the fix will be that easy.

  • I have installed nvidia graphics drivers on windows 7 (bootcamp) now i can't use windows, it's just a black screen, how do i resolve this?

I have installed nvidia drivers from nvidias website for my geforce gt 650m on my early 2013 macbook pro retina 15", now i can't use windows in bootcamp, whenever i go into windows it turns into a black screen before i can see my desktop. How do i resolve this?

From the home screen, double click the home button to bring up the Recently used App list. Find the App with the problem and hold your finger on it untl the Apps start to shake. When that happens tap on the (x) on the right side corner of the app to close it.
Tap the home button again to get back to the home screen, and try to open the App again.
If that doesn't work, try resetting the iPad. (there should be no data loss):
Press and Hold the Power and home buttons until the Apple Logo shows up. Ignore any sliders that may appear.
When the iPad turns back on, try opening the App again.

  • Problem with installing NVIDIA drivers.

I don't know If I should ask this here or at NVIDIA. I'll just try here first since even HP provided drivers don't install.
I'll just let these pictures tell the story.
I also tried the driver that can be downloaded from HP download page and the resualt is:
Intel driver is installed fine. So why does NVIDIA doesn't install?
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
    Laptop: HP-15d076sr
    This question was solved.

You may want to try reinstalling windows.
If you do, do not install any other drivers or software until you:
    1. Install the Intel chipset installation utility from your notebook's support and driver page and reboot.
    2. Install the Intel HD graphics driver from your notebook's support and driver page and reboot.
    3. Install that last nVidia graphics driver I posted and reboot.

That nVidia driver should work because the hardware ID for your GPU is indeed present in the driver setup information file, which I have copied the partial contents below...

  • T540p (20BE) Intel HD 4600 Lenovo Version drivers will not install. (Fix provided)

    Hi all.
I figured I would post this issue. I recently did (another) re-install of my Windows 7 Professional OS from a Windows OEM DVD. I noticed that when I attempted to install the Intel HD 4600 Video Graphics drivers from the Lenovo site, I got an error saying "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software." I have the dual-video graphics system (Intel HD 4600 & NVIDIA GeForce 730M) T540p Lenovo package. In order to install the NVIDIA mobile chipset drivers, you must first install the Intel drivers which fails to run.
Resolution:  Download and install the Intel HD 4600 drivers from Intel's website, install, and reboot. Once installed the NVIDIA drivers can then be installed.
Hope this saves people some headaches in the future.
    Thanks.

Ok, Gyz... since Lenovo driver team has hands grown from the arses.... they manage to forget adding proper HW id to the inf file provided in the recent drivers.
My sys has id : PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0416&SUBSYS_221117AA&REV_06
    Thats what I did:
    1) Downloaded recent drivers from lenovo (sfx exe).
    2) Ran it and got error "your system is not ... something"
    3) At this point it made folder with intel crap on c:\drivers\video\
    4) I edited c:\drivers\video\graphics\ki103976.inf by adding tis line:
    %iHSWGT2UT% = iHSWM_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0416&SUBSYS_221117AA
Just find simular hw id string under "; HSW Classic" and add.
Then I ran setup exectutable and have my updates. This works for win7 x64. If u need fix for win8, go your windows/inf directory and find oem92.inf, then you can find your hw id string and add it in same manner to the proper section of the inf.

  • Just installed XP and Drivers, Now no mouse or keyboard

Alright, so I just installed Windows XP through Boot Camp and had everything running on my new iMac. As labeled in the instructions, I popped in the driver install CD after I had XP installed (at this point, the bluetooth keyboard and mouse were both working). The wizard came up and the drivers installed themselves. Everything looked all fine until the setup "ended" with an error message that I didn't get to read, because less than a second later, the computer restarted itself.
When XP came back up, I could tell that the video and sound drivers were installed because I heard the startup sound and the resolution was adjusted. BUT, the mouse and keyboard stopped working totally! I tried plugging in another wired USB mouse and keyboard, but the computer didn't detect them either.
What should I try? Just reinstall the whole thing?
    Thanks in advance!

    No problem!
    - Right after I installed Windows XP (a clean install with no other data, of course), I popped in the driver install CD.
    - When the installer comes up, close it - we won't be needing that.
    - Open My Computer from the Start Menu and find the disc corresponding to the optical drive (Titled "Boot Camp"). Right click on it and select "Open", not "AutoRun". The disc's contents should appear.
    - From there, open the folder named "Boot Camp", and then open up "Drivers". In the "Drivers" folder, you'll find a whole bunch of folders that contain all of the drivers for all of the hardware on your Mac.
    - You're going to need to manually install all of the drivers EXCEPT the ones pertaining to 'USB' or 'Bluetooth'. Open each folder (better to do them in order), and find the drivers you need to install. It may look overwhelming trying to figure out which ones you need, but it's more simple than you might think. Essentially, each folder contains all of the drivers you need, but there are several versions of them for the different versions of Windows (XP, Vista 32, Vista 64, Win 64, Win 32, etc etc etc...) Figure out which version you have (most likely 32-Bit Windows XP) and install every driver that says anything among the lines of 'Win32' or 'XP' or 'XP32' (you get the idea) (again, avoiding the ones that have to do with Bluetooth or USB).
TIP: The driver installer windows seem to pop up behind the window that you're currently using. Select them from the taskbar.
TIP 2: Some drivers may summon a "Install New Hardware Wizard" window. Just don't touch those. Don't. Touch. They will go away on their own when the device is installed. I promise.
ANOTHER TIP: When you get to the graphics cards installer folders (Either ATI or nVidia), you only need to install the ones for the graphics card that's in your computer!
YET ANOTHER TIP: Don't forget the lingering "MotorolaSetup.exe" installer in the drivers folder!
Hope this helps! If you need any clarification, please ask!
PS: All of the above is why OS X is awesome. Just sayin'.

  • Not Able To Install Nvidia Graphics Drivers

    Hello all!
This past week I just finished putting my new system together with a K8N Diamond Plus. Only major problem right now is i am not able to install Nvidia's drivers. Below are my components...
    XP 64-Bit Edition
    MSI K8N Diamond Plus
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
    BFG 7900 GTX 512MB
    1 Gig Coirsar Ram
2 Wester digital HD in Raid 0
When I try and install the graphics drivers i get the message " The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit."
I used the chip set drivers listed here: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_detail.php?UID=710&kind=1
Also I have tried the ones from NVIDIA's site: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_winxp64_x16_6.83
The graphics drivers i used are from NVIDIA's site: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp64_81.98.html
BFG Tech support guy had me look under display adapters in device manager. It only has Standard VGA Graphics Adapter listed. He said I did not have my chip set drivers installed (though i have), or the motherboard was not recognizing it. Also he said they do not support XP-64 and would not offer me any more support so long as i run it.
I just can not believe that XP 64, 7900 GTX, and this great K8N Diamond Plus can not get along.
Any advice anyone has for getting my Diamond Plus and my graphics card to jive together would be greatly appricated.
    Thankyou all!!

Thankyou guys for the responses. I was able to find drivers that worked with my card here..
    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/index.php?drivers&series=80&os=2&type=1&dir=1
Now my only current issue left is that I have no sound. It is enabled in the BIOS, installed the 64-bit drivers from MSI site, tired installing drivers off disk. Any suggestion?

  • Intel Application Accellerator drivers problem when installing WinXP

Has anyone had a problem with the Intel Applicatoin Accellerator drivers when installing WinXP??
I'm attempting to re-install windows on a perfectly working system (acquired some spyware/virii... want a clean install), so I don't think I have a BIOS/RAID config error.
-The board is an 865PE Neo 2 (rev1).
-I am using the same SATA RAID-0 (channel 1 & 2) which Windows was just running on (and that I have previously installed on several times before).
-Believe I've downloaded the correct Intel SATA RAID drivers (tried various versions from both MSI and Intel sites).
-Windows XP setup does recognize the RAID volume (I can format the volume).
The problem occurs shortly after the drive selection-format process, right after the setup status line reads "creating list of files to copy".  The prompt I receive asks for the INTEL APPLICATION ACCELLERATOR drivers.
This is very strange becuase in looking at the txtsetup.oem, this is the name of the drivers I am using.  The floppy disk is still in the drive, but hitting enter does nothing, even if I put in a new disk.  Strange!
Again, given that my RAID volume is recognized (and formatable) by the WinXP setup, I'm thinking I have the correct, albeit possibly incomplete, drivers.
Hopefully someone has seen this error and can point me in the correct dirrection.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Blue
    EDITED for clarity

Assuming you didn't touch anything hardware-wise or in the Bios and that your floppy drive is working correctly:
You should boot from the WinXP CD and hit F6 if you intend to install XP on the Intel Raid array(serial1&2 connectors).
XP setup will then prompt you to put in floppy with Intel Raid Driver and will load the drivers.(this is still before the drive formatting part)
Now it will see the Raid array and allow you to format/install XP. From what I remember, it shouldn't need the Raid driver floppy anymore at this point.
I would suggest that either the driver you downloaded is wrong or in the wrong format. Another thing that sometimes helps is to physically disconnect ALL drives from the computer(HDD, zip/usb drives etc...) until after XP is successfully installed. Obviously this doesn't include the floppy/CD drive/system HDD.
You can download a copy of my Intel Raid floppy HERE
It's not the latest version but it will work with Raid0.

  • Install new drivers uninstall or just install over the old ones

do i have to uninstall my old mobo drivers before installing the new one's? or just install over them??

Quote from: Supershanks on 29-December-05, 04:31:38
It's safer to just install the new ones over the old with mobo drivers. It's graphics drivers particularly if changing between ati/Nvidia that sometimes require removal b4 installing new ones.
    luck
Yeah, I just overwrite the mobo drivers with new ones as they usually only differ in small details.
For Vid Card drivers I like to use Driver Cleaner (Google for it - It's free & it will get rid of Mobo & Sound Card drivers too, if you wish) to root out all traces of a previous driver set before installing new ones. Unlike mobo drivers, different versions can vary greatly in content... if some of the old code is left over, it may not allow the new drivers to work properly.

  • Can not start x after installing nvidia 173.14.x drivers [SOLVED]

After installing nvidia-beta (version 173.14.05-5) I am unable to start x. I receive the errors:
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA graphics device PCI:1:0:0.
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Please see the COMMON PROBLEMS section in the README for
    (EE) NVIDIA(0): additional information.
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA graphics device!
I have tried the installer directly from nVidia itself and I receive the same results. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • New kernel and problems installing nvidia-legacy drivers

I just compiled new kernel, and I can't install nvidia-legacy drivers properly. Pacman installs them, but the module (nvidia.ko) goes to /lib/modules/2.6.19-ARCH, and I want it to 2.6.19.2.. It doesn't work if I just copy the module..
I've compiled kernel many times without problems when I was still using Slackware.  So, what do I need to configure to use the new module directory? I Propably made some small/stupid mistake..
I tried legacy drivers from nvidia.com, but they didnt compile.. weird, gonna try that again too..

You need to install the nvidia drivers, or any other non-kernel drivers, specifically for the kernel you are using. Arch packages the nvidia drivers to work with the Arch kernel packages, and the "Arch way" to deal with your situation is to modify the appropriate PKGBUILD to match your kernel, create a custom package with makepkg, and install it with pacman.
You can also use the nvidia installer, but in that case the nvidia files installed on your system will not be under pacman's control.

  • Problems installing nVidia WDM video capture drivers

I have a  MSI MS-StarForce GeForce4 Ti 4600 (NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4600) video card installed on my computer and I can't seem to figure out why when I try to install the WDM video capture drivers - I always get the same error message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" Can someone...anyone please explain to me what code 10 means and why I'm having this problem?  My OS is Windows XP Pro.
I would be so appreciative for some support of any kind
    Thanks

Funny you should ask about the Vivo connector...When I originally purchased the card, Upon arriving home,  I opened the box and after reading the manual for a few minutes- I noticed I didn’t see the TV out Video 4 in one connector that the manual said should be in the box.  I unpacked the box completely and searched my house entirely and there was no 4 in 1 connector.  Well….having purchased more than my fair share of peripherals from Fry’s Electronics, I already knew that I had more than likely purchased unknowingly a previously opened box and then repackaged to look new except with one flaw….a missing video connector.  The following day, I attempted to get Fry’s to claim some type of liability and after a heated discussion with the manager - I ended up leaving Fry’s without a new un-opened box or a replacement for the connector that had been missing.
Then months later I was on the PC Club’s website and came upon a Vivo connector that I thought might work with my card.  I ordered it and two months later! Literally! It arrived. (That’s another horror story!!!) The Vivo video in/out connector arrived and to my disappointment, didn’t work with my card.
So to make a long story short (TOO LATE!)  No the card doesn’t work with a Vivo connector but rather a MSI named TV in/out 4 in 1 connector.  But since I don’t have it anyway, my plan is to try capturing video with an S video cable and give that a whirl!

Just an update- I have now downloaded the software you have suggested and plan un- installing and then re-installing the drivers you had recommended  I'll let you know

  • [SOLVED] How to install nvidia 285.05.09-3 drivers

    Hi All,
Currently I have installed xf86-video-nouveau 0.0.16_git20110829-1 drivers in my Arch Linux but I would like to install nvidia 285.05.09-3 in kernel 3.1.1-1-ARCH.
Each time I have tried to install nvidia drivers I have had a lot of problems: the worst is that once installed I reboot system and X does not start, screen goes black, etc so I am afraid to install it because then I have a lot of problems to goes back nouveau and to get X starts again.
So could anyone say me step by step how to install it with success and that once I reboot my system you ensure me X starts?
And a step by step guide in case X does not starts and I need to come back nouveau again and start X normaly without problems.
    Thx.

Did you install the nvidia 285 drivers from the repos? Have you tried https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Nv … au_drivers ?
Can you post some logs when the nvidia drivers are failing? What card do you have?
    Hi Karol,
I have just installed nvidia 285 from repos taking into account the link you provided. I follow the steps mentioned in the script to change from nouveau to nvidia and it went Ok. Now I have installed nvidia drivers from repos and at boot-up, X starts correctly (SOLVED).
I think when I installed nvidia in the past one thing was missed: (I did not do this)
    /usr/bin/sudo /sbin/mkinitcpio -p linux
    ....Maybe that was the problem.
My graphic card is Nvidia Go7600.
    Thx again

    Hi All
I download and install the NVIDIA-Linux-x86-173.14.12-pkg1.run from the nvidia web site because when I try to download from pacman

  • Unable to install NVIDIA drivers on Windows 8 (Boot Camp)

I'm running Windows 8 on a secondary partition on my MacBook Pro (17-inch, 2009).
I have, in the past, been able to successfully install Windows 8 on a second partition on this mac and get everything working, including all of my device drivers. I had to erase that partition, though, so I no longer have that installation.
I've installed Windows 8 again, but I'm not able to get my NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT or 9400M graphics drivers to install!
First of all, I tried installing both 5.0.5033 and 5.1.5621 support software. After a lot of hassle, I got 5.1.5621 to install, but only through the BootCamp\Drivers\Apple\BootCamp.msi file, not through the BootCamp\setup.exe file (the setup.exe tells me that this version of Boot Camp is not intended for this computer model).
When I install the drivers that way, they don't install the NVIDIA drivers.
Next, I've gone directly to the NVIDIA drivers folder inside the support software, and tried to install them from there. i've also downloaded newer versions of the NVIDIA drivers from their website, and with all versions of the NVIDIA drivers, I've had to go through a huge hassle to get them to go to the setup wizard (instead of telling me there's no compatible hardware).
Then, I managed to get them to start installing, but - after Windows has me confirm that I really want to install the driver, despite it's signature - the screen invariably goes black, and my computer shuts down instantly, in what I can only assume is a kernel panic.
This is incredibly frustrating, and I don't know what to do about it. I can't seem to find anyone else with the same problem. Can anyone help me?
