T420 - I really want one, but why the 16:9 HD screens in a business laptop?
As title, really.
Since I was able to break away from HP and choose my own laptop I've had T43 & T61, both 14" 1024x768 screens.
I need to change again but I'm really dubious about the HD screens, and not just the resolution - reports say the screen quality isn't very good either.
Why can't business users have the option of good 4:3 screens with a reasonable resolution so that email and other docs can be viewed without eyestrain at the screen's native resolution?
I just bought a T420 with the HD+ (1600x900) screen and personally I have found the 16:9 screen to be really (and I mean really) vertically cramped...
16:9 is generally just an awful aspect ratio for computing as productivity based programs utilize vertical scrolling.
Personally I'm not planning on watching any movies on my laptop, just editing photos for clients while I'm on the job... (I also have problems in Photo Shop with large images as I have to do a lot more scrolling while I'm editing)
for web design it's the same story...
Overall if Lenovo ever reads this forum... I would personally advise them to ditch the 16:9 format... It really doesn't belong in a business computer...
EDIT: also I think the bezel looks really dumb since they obviously didn't redesign the chassis with the 16:9 screen in mind...
Also, as an extra, more interesting note, the ratio of 16:10 is just nearly congruent with the golden ratio (φ=1.61803...) only differing by a factor of ~.012 thus I think that mathematically, 16:10 is a more perfect screen ratio...

Where is the bookmarks stored?
I Install the Firefox once again since I upgrade my computer.
And I try to move the bookmarks from the old computer to the new one.
But I can't find anyone of them.
Is there any folder just like "favourite" to store the html file?

If you don't care about saving your current bookmarks, you can skip creating new profile (Firefox does it by itself at first run anyway).
I'd might suggest you to install addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2410/|Xmarks Bookmark and Password Sync]. It is a free web service which synchronizes bookmarks and (optionally) passwords with central server, and then to other computers, if you installed it on more. You may treat is as a backup too. -
Is there a way to turn the wireless capabilities off on an AirPort Express? I have an AirPort Extreme as my main router and use the express to just extend it. I only really want to you use the express for hard ethernet connections. For whatever reason when I have my express extend my wifi at home the download speed from just the express is absolutely terrible, drops to about 1.5 mb compared to when it's on the extremes part of the network the speed goes up to 50-75mb. These terrible download speed really only affects the iPhones as my MacBook Pro usually gets the good speed no matter where it is. I don't believe there is anything wrong with my phone because if I am in the part of the house that uses just the extreme the download speeds on the iphone goes up to 50-75mb. As a note I have an AirPort Extreme on the top floor of my house (second floor) that's where my modem is located. On the first floor that's where one airport express is located. I also have another airport express in the basement that is accessed by my landlord. Any thoughts on how to fix this would be helpful.

It appears that your networking goals with the AirPort Express is to use it as a wireless Ethernet bridge instead of using it to extend the wireless range of your AirPort Extreme. The latter requires that the Express Wi-Fi radios be enabled.
If you intended to use the Express as a wireless bridge, you just need to reconfigure it to "Join a wireless" network instead of "Extend a wireless network."

In an extended network, the placement of the extending base station is critical as it can only extend the wireless network at the bandwidth at which it receives it.

You can only be signed in to one Apple ID at a time. Sign in to the one you want and ignore the other.

I record some information to some slides but the presentation doesn't start from the 1st one but from the one I started the recording. What should I do?
Also, can I use music as backround to some of the slides, not to all of them as I'd like to play videos on the others?I have reinstalled the drivers. I watched it install the realtec and cirrus drivers. Hovering the mouse over the speaker icon says 'speakers: HP'. They are actually 'Creative'. 'Properties' indicates 'IDT High Definition CODEC' and 'This device is working correctly'.
Driver details gives 'c:\Windows\system32\drivers\dmk.sys'.
There is still no sound, although the little level meter on the control shows a green bar rising and falling.
Obviously, it thinks it's working, but there's no connection to the speakers. They're not muted, either. I checked that too.
Any other ideas?

I have 2 email accounts for 2 people. TB will download mail for one but not the other. It can't authenticate the password. Passwords are both the same. Worked fine until today.
The amount of information makes it somewhat hard to give a specific answer. I could only recommend:
* Can you log into the account using the webmail service from your provider?
* Have you verified the settings for the account to be correct (protocol, port number, password encoding)?

I have 2 older iPod touches and 1 computer. It will reconize one but not the other. How do I sync music on both?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.
