T420s Windows 8 Bluetooth Toggle

Hi there,
Just finished putting Windows 8 on my T420s
All seems well, Lenovo software support seems a bit on the lacking side.
Anyway - FN+F5 only toggles wifi and nothing else - Im guessing the pop up for that was with Access Connections.
How do we toggle all our adapters is this something Lenovo is working on or is there a workaround.

Howdy,
Bring up Settings charm. At the bottom it says "Change PC Settings". That looks like the title of the settings above (to me) but it's a link. Click it. Then click "wireless" on the left.
Is there a bluetooth slider there?

  • IPhone and Windows 7 Bluetooth profiles

Just picked up the iPhone 4 last week and paired with my Windows 7 HP.  No problems pairing but was surprised that there were only two bluetooth profiles enabled.   I was expecting to also see the profile for OBEX to copy JPEG photos to and from the laptop.  And I was expecting to see the AV profiles so that I can access music on the device from the laptop.   I had both of these features on the Moto I replaced this with.
Anyone else paired up with Windows and bluetooth and seeing more than just wireless iAP and remote control under the BT profile services available from Windows?   That's all I'm getting which is way less than my buddy with AT&T iPhone gets on his Windows 7 desktop and bluetooth.

The iphone 4 has limited bluetooth support.  Check out this link for full details.

The iPhone supports A2DP (audio streaming), headsets, tethering, and limited functionality for some apps in the app store.
If you are trying to tether to your computer, try reading the users guide available on your device.
If you are trying to connect for other purposes, it simply will not happen.

  • Why do I come back to a different Pages window when I toggle?

why do I come back to a different Pages window when I toggle?

In Mission Control or App Switcher?
Are the pages windows on the same desktop or different?
Playing around with it I see that if they are on different desktops, the focus changes to the document on the Desktop where Pages was opened.
If I set Pages to a specific Desktop, but move a document to another Desktop, it doesn't do what you describe.
So, try assigning Pages to a Desktop in the Options submenu of the Dock icon contextual menu. Then, move your documents around as you like and see what happens.

  • Bluetooth toggle on Blackberry 8320

    Hello,
I just upgraded from the 8100 Pearl to the 8320 Curve and I notice something not available that I really loved and used frequently on the 8100 Pearl; the Bluetooth toggle app on the applications screen.  I used that often 1-2 times a day to quickly enable/disable as the situation indicated, but now I need to use more steps to get that done.  I already have both convenience buttons set to lock the device and I really want to keep those for security reasons.
Is there any small application from Blackberry that I can load that adds the Bluetooth toggle app to the applications screen?  That would really complete this Blackberry Curve for me.
    Thanks

  • Bluetooth toggle in Windows 8.1

    Hi everyone,
I recently installed Windows 8.1 to my Probook 4530s. Installed all the necessary drivers and everything but the Bluetooth works as it should. The problem is, if I turn Bluetooth off via the Windows 8 control panel, it disappears completely. The Windows 8 toggle virtually disables the Bluetooth completely and the only way thus far I've seen to turn it back on is via the device manager. When disabled, the Bluetooth section of the control panel disappears completely and the icon vanishes from the notification area. Is this intended behaviour? If not how do I fix this.
I've installed the driver via HP's site. Oddly enough, when installing the driver it unpacks and gives no further feedback. The Bluetooth icon simply appears in the taskbar.

    Hi:
If your model uses a Ralink wireless card, see if installing this bluetooth driver works.

  • T420 windows 8.1 Manage Bluetooth devices will not turn on

I have a T40 that I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 8, and recently to windows 8.1, blue tooth device act flaxy and when I go to "Manage Bluetooth devices".  I have a bluetooth logictech v470 mouse which works most of the time and a bluetooth headset Hype (HY-91)
    I have 2 issues:
    1. can not turn on the slider to turn bluetooth on easily. - I finally get it turned on after awhile by double clicking, waiting, or just luck, not sure why it just does not just go on.
    2. I have trouble with my Bluetooth headset device the second time I connect no matter what I do unless I reboot or re-pair the headset it will work.
I thought it could it be related to two bluetooth devices, but I powered down the mouse. I thought skype was causing an issue, but I quit it and made sure it was not running in the background.
I did find if I turned off the internal speakers and internal mic only then the headset works properly.
    Any ideas?

Well my problem is now solved, both devices are bricked, Apple Store replaced both devices today, After talking with my daughter had the iPad mini was charging and it updated iOS8.1.3 and then bricked, tried all the things you suggested with both devices.  Yes, I agree about not letting my devices die, this was the first time my phone had died in 5 months but I firmly believe iOS 8.1.3 was the cause of both devices demise.  Apple checked both devices and promptly replaced both in about 30 minutes.  I hope this is not the way Apple is planning on continuing with software updates.  I have 10 apple devices and have been a strong supporter of their company, but these kind of half done updates are the reason I removed all Microsoft products from our household 7 years ago!

  • T420 & Windows 8 Issues.

    Greetings to the community.
I would like to write out some of the issues I am facing after installing windows 8 on my T420.
I purchased the laptop in august with windows 7... then somewhere around early november I upgraded to Windows 8.
I have come accross other threads that directed me to updates for windows 8. I have installed all I could find for windows 8.
However the followin issues continue to remain.
    1. Mic mute button does not work.
    2. Fn + F2 does not work
    3. Fn +F3 does not work
    4. Fn + F5 does not work
    5. Fn + F6 does not work
    6. Fn + F8 does not work
    7. Fn + PrtSc does not work
    8. Bluetooth stays on all the time with no way to disable it on right click. Yesterday I downloaded an update through system update for bluetooth, but the problem remains.
    9. Thinkvantage doesn't do anything.
Could someone help me identify what could be causing these problems and how I could find a solution for the same?
Any help with be appreciated much!
    Thank you.

  • Wifi toggle & Bluetooth toggle app

    Hi,
I love my iPhone but after coming from windows powered phones etc I really miss the option to easily toggle the wifi and Bluetooth on and off.
I use Bluetooth for my car kit but really hate having so many menus to navigate trough to turn bluetooth on, as I always keep it off to preserve battery life.
Same with wifi I use it a lot but at times of the day it's not needed and would love a simple app on my home screen just to toggle them on and off quickly.
    When will one be available???
    Regards
    Scott

    Hi, Scott:
I'm wishing there was an app like you described, too. After having many excessive battery drain problems, I'd like to be able to simply toggle Bluetooth "On" or "Off" from a Home screen. Wi-Fi would be good too. In searching today for such an app, one doesn't exist except for jailbroken phones, and I don't want to deal with the incessant tweaks required for that.
You know that you and I aren't the only ones who have thought of this. I see Web posts going back at least two years about it. Coupled with the many user problems I see posted about battery drains on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, I'd say the reason Apple hasn't released an app for this boils down to money. Apple would makes more money by draining batteries and charging to replace them than by doing a sensible toggle app.
As a company, Apple seems to forget that we're paying them for a top-of-the-line product, rather than them trying to make us feel like they're doing us a favor accepting our money.

  • Re: Can't reinstall windows 7 bluetooth driver

I have a new Portege T210 laptop. Bluetooth was working and then stopped, saying it wasn't enabled when it was. I am using the in built bluetooth.
I did a System restore and now when I turn on bluetooth, windows 7 home premium prompts me to install the bluetooth driver. However when it starts the progress bar it stops a little way in, and just stays there saying please wait.
I have tried several times, including rebooting machine.Thelongest I have waited is more than one hour, it just sits there saying it is installing the driver.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
I really don't want to do a system recovery.

I appreciate the input but I have already doen two system restores for other reasons. I have too much setup now to go back to square one. Windows 7 is causing me no end of problems. I can't install any anti virus sftware except Windows Security Essentials, email pop 3 software doesn't work and peer to peer software (VUZE) doesn't work either. All the programmes can't contact the server, Win 7 seems to be blocking everything except its own programmes. Email programmes I tried are Thunderbird, Eudora, Outlook and the Win 7 one.
This machine is starting to look like a lemon.
A system recover seems ridiculous, the machine is 2 weeks old and the shop where I bought it alrady did a system restore back to their OS installation point, then Norton didn't work at all and I can't uninstall it. I have always found Norton to be hopeless and would never install their software. That may be the problem I guess.

  • Windows CP Bluetooth problem

I upgraded to Windows 8 CP from Windows 7 but bluetooth connection with my phone is not working after the upgrade.
Sending files from phone to PC is not possible with the error message "Unable to connect" though the PC 'sees' the presence of the phone. Any bluetooth driver available for Windows 8 yet?

Yeah, I am having bluetooth problems with an M5-481PT laptop.  I can get it to work, but it's klugey. I also have Qualcomm Atheros (nearly 3 years old) and I suspect the Qualcomm Atheros since bluetooth speaker connection was always wonky in windows 8.1 as well. Acer promised to mkae the following link live on launch date.  As of this posting, it's still not up. http://www.acer.com/windows10now.#_ga=1.45153831.286910687.1437418497

  • Bootcamp Windows 7 bluetooth mouse not working

From my macbook air with bootcamp windows 7 my bluetooth mouse is not working.  It was working before and it still works fine under mac os but I don't know why it's not working anymore under Windows 7.  I also tried to find bluetooth from control panel or device manager but bluetooth is not showing.  Anyone can help me to solve this problem?  Thanks.

getting blue tooth device to work after install
iMac 21.5 inch OS X Lion (10.8.4), Bootcamp 5 install of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
At the end of my install, I noticed that Bootcamp was not available from Windows (e.g., no hidden taskbar
icon). Other issues with missing USB drivers. Magic mouse worked ok, except the trackpad-like swiping
features were absent. Ran setup in the BootCamp folder of the thumb drive (not the setup in the thumb
drive's root directory), which indicated it was a continuing install (guess somehow the first one stopped
prematurely), installed all the special Apple etc. drivers for the Bootcamp interface with Windows.
After restart, all the troubleshooter warnings for USB devices had cleared, but Magic mouse was not
    communicating with system.
Attached a standard Microsoft optical USB mouse.
Then, in Windows control panel > devices and printers:
right clicked the magic mouse's icon (was labeled apple-username's mouse)
    selected Services tab
(Bluetooth Services refreshes, then shows checkbox for Drivers for keyboard, mice, etc (HID))
    check the checkbox
Windows installs the driver and the magic mouse works with all its features in Windows.
incidentally, noticed that had lots of internet cutouts with both wi-fi and lan connected. maybe an issue
with my ISP, don't know, although issue only apparent in Windows, not Mac OS X.

  • T420s Windows 7 Offline Files Not Working

We have a new T420s laptop and the Offline Files feature in Windows 7 does not work consistently on this machine.  The issue was specific to this laptop, we could run offline files on the same users on other computers which ruled out network permissions.
The Offline Files service would continually be turned off after a re-start and after hours of fighting with this machine we found that the Lenovo HyperW7 service was the cause of the problem.  This service can be disabled using MSConfig or remove the Rapidboot software which initiates this service.
Lenovo technical support was absolutely useless in resolving this issue, not sure if we will be buying Lenovo in the future.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

We were able to confirm a bug within RapidBoot that affects even the latest version of the software, 1.11
At this point I would recommend to uninstall RapidBoot from all your Lenovo systems that need to use offline files, because there is not currently any solution to this problem.
Very sorry for the inconvenience caused by RapidBoot.

  • Please help... Problems with windows and bluetooth

    Hi,
My computer has been working without a hitch for the past 3 months but just recently i bought a bluetooth mouse to use with mac and windows. But then I noticed that there are some major issues now.
I have a Bluetooth devices icon in my control panel (actually two of them, i dont know how that happened) but in the device manager, there is no apple bluetooth kicker. No bluetooth hub at all. So I dont know if the driver actually installed or not.
Then, I try booting back up the macintosh drivers for windows cd to use the uninstall, but it can't uninstall. It only installs. I tried uninstalling through add or remove programs and it still just installs over again.
Please, somebody help me. I'm about to rip my MBP a new one.
    Thanks,
    Phong

Installed new boot camp drivers. Works perfectly now.
