T430 2342CTO - SanDisk 16GB mSATA Target Read Test Fail

Hi all, my Lenovo Solution Center (LSC) told me that my mSATA had a targetd read test fail. I ran the test myself and it had the same issue. Read some threads and tried the LSC test but only tested the SSD, and it passed all tests when ran this way.
Went to the IBM Electronic Service Call website and entered the details and they sent me an empty box to ship my laptop back for repair. This seems overkill as I'm sure I could just pop in a new mSATA if that really was the problem, I don't want to give up my PC.
My T430 seems to run fine. Wondering if this is a software problem with LSC? Here is my error code:
LENOVO HARDWARE SCAN ERROR: RESULT CODE: WHD01V002-UI8VYJ DATE RUN: 1/26/2013 - 14:52 DEVICE: SANDISK-SANDISKSSDU10016GB-123659310730
(don't get this error when I test the SSD by itself, only if SSD is tested right after the primary HD)
Is it worth sending back to Lenovo? Or does LSC have a glitch?

I'd like to hear the answer to this as I'm on my second drive in 2 months of ownership. No symptoms other than that it failed this test.
Replacing the drives create a lot of work after because you have to reload all your programs, files and configure everything as you would for a new computer. They seen to want to keep throwing parts at this fix on mine.

Sounds like a failing SSD, but there have been reported one too many false positives of this nature...
Download and run HD tune to check the condition of the drive.

New Computer's 16gb mSATA caching drive not working

I bought a new custom HP ENVY 700xt Desktop pc with Windows 8.1 .  I got two, 1tb hdd's, and there was an option to addon a 16gb mSata ssd for caching, so I decided to get it.
 
I wanted to know for sure if it was working so i obviously googled the hell out of it and came to the conclusion...it's not working. 
 
I called HP's tech support only to be told that they don't troubleshoot 3rd party software (ExpressCache), which is needed for the 16g mSATA to work.
 
The disk is installed correctly and can be seen in disk managment.  
 
Basically there is a test your supposed to run as administrator in the cmd prompt, which is, " eccmd -info " .
That test should reveal how your mSATA cache drive is working. 
 
I get the message : "Product is not licensed to run on this system". 
 
I've searched all over for the error and how to resolve it, but can't find anything.

Probably not a good idea to share case numbers here... I had the admin remove it, but I have it and will follow up.
Lets not get into RAID here - this has nothing to do with RAID.
ExpressCache is not an executable, but it runs as a service. The only way to see if it is running is to run the eccmd -info command and if you got Product is not licensed to run on this system... then we have a problem with the licensing and that needs to be fixed. This is a supported product both HW and SW.
I'll look up the details and get back with you as soon as I can.

T430 2342CTO slow to open applications

Hi Mate, I am new to this lenovo community and not so good at computer as well, I need your assistance on my laptop, I have purchase same configuration for T430 (2342CTO) but what I am finding is laptop is very slow and browsers and application takes ages to open. Are you exprience same problem or do I need make some changes on laptop? its very unusal with having so high configuration its behaving like this. I have exprience with another laptop with lover configuration that works faster than this one. As we have excatly same configuration, I have not exprience hot on left palm.

Out of the box, I reformatted my T430 and did a fresh install on the SSD - so I'm not sure my experience with the machine was the same. I do not remember having any issues with slow response in programs, but there are some things you can check.
1. Run Lenovo System Update and look for new drivers/bios/critical/recommended updates
2. Run Windows Update and install all Critical updates and look for optional driver/software updates
2. Uninstall Lenovo Solution Center, ThinkVantage Access Connections, ThinkVantage Communications Utility
3. Goto Control Panel > Power Options > Click the expand arrow underneath "Balanced" and select "High Performance"
If you are not too techically savy, that is where I would start with troubleshooting your problems. I only experience the hot palmrest when I'm using the CPU/GPU for intensive operations.

X230: 16GB mSATA Solid State Cache Drive not found

X230, Win8, 16GB mSATA SSCD installed (0B47309).
However, during software installation of "lenovoexpresscache.exe" 1.0.94, installation aborts because it cannot detect the Cache Drive.
Is it a driver problem or should I return the CacheDrive? (The CacheDrive is obviously not detected by the system but I'm not sure.)

The software is only intended to be used on the mSATA SSDs that Lenovo sells.
It is not intended to be used on your own mSATA SSD that you buy elsewhere. If this is what you are trying to do, nobody can help you with that.

16GB mSATA SSD Cache

     I recently purchased a new HP Envy 700-300z desktop computer. All is well except for the following. With the purchase, I had the 16GB mSATA SSD Cache disk installed to speed up the computer. I could not locate any info in the instructions and was looking for third party software that was attached to this drive, like scandisk or conduit the owner of the software. Was there a software installed and if so where is it located or any other info that you may have.

I am sorry I know this is probably most frequently asked question, but I have no idea what I should be searching for.
I looked up the error above to see if i could find a solution, but unfortunately I did not.
Right Let me start of with I am a Total Noob.. well it terms of having to install Oracle 11g myself.
In my University they hosted a database, and assigned us a User & pass thats how I have been using SQL Developer,
but since I am not longer a university student. I need to use Oracle Database.
So I downloaded Oracle 11g Enterprise Installed it on my laptop that i don't use much.
Name the Database: Rudu
It did all the installation, and seemed to have succeeded, I went on to the https://localhost:1158/em (Though am not sure why em? whats the deal with that? I thought it would be https://localhost:1158/Rudu) anyways....
Logged in using the System user.
Went to Users and created a user called: RUDUHR
Thought yeah its working... went on to my other laptop opened up SQL Developer.
Created Connection with the following Settings
Con Name: RK
User: RUDUHR
Pass: TEST
Con Type: Basic
Role: Default
Hostname: 192.168.0.8
Port: 1158
SID: Rudu
It don't work though Why is that??????

It is because you don't read documentation.
1158 is the default port for Enterprise Manager
1521 is the default port for Sqlnet.
Your port number is incorrect.
Needless to say, you can create your tables in EM too.

I'm a bit confused about optimal/correct set up for L530 ThinkPad equipped with 16GB mSATA SSD cache drive and 500GB HDD. ExpressCache is installed and works properly.
- Should I disable RapidBoot Shield in CP?
- Should I uninstall (or disable at start up) RapidBoot HDD Accelerator (FastBoot)?

Cannot transfer photos and videos from sandisk micro memory card reader to i photo in mac book pro. The photos were taken on my samsung phone. The chip was then placed in the sandisk and plugged into laptop. They appear in finder window but I don't know how to get them into i photo.

A SMART Test Failed on the Drive

Computer won't start load Windows usually. During Diagnostic, I received the following message:
ERROR CODE: BIOHD - 7
Error : A SMART test failed on the Drive
Testing: st3750528as (9up2y6fc)
Does this mean my hard disk is failing or is it a software problem? Will doing a disk recovery help?

This error message means that your hard drive is failing. If you get it to boot, you should make a backup of your personal data. You should replace the drive with one as large or larger for the System Recovery media to work.
For future reference, when requesting help you should always include the make/model (i.e. p6-xxxx) of the computer and/or monitor. This information is necessary for us to review the specifications of them. We would be able to furnish you with guides to help you Recover the system after the drive is replaced.

Color LaserJet MFP M476nw Fax Test failed

I bought a new LaserJet M476nw, but my fax test fails everytime through the laserjet setup and HP utilities software. The Laserjet is connected on a network and using Vista.
I have a dedicated fax line connected from the jack to the icon with the jack on the back of the laserjet. I can hear dial tone on the fax line when connected to a phone. I have called the fax line and it is rings normally and no answer. I also tried connecting a phone to the laserjet phone icon, while the fax line is connected to the laserJet, I can hear the dial tone from the phone.
I do not know what else I should do to get the fax test to pass, so I can start faxing on this new machine. Any suggestion is appreciated.

Actually this problem is now solved.
It was a brand new machine, so since I really didn't have any data so I did a restore default. It rebooted and now it passes.

Pavilion G6-1203ey: Hard Disk Test FAILED, but can still boot into Windows

I have HP Pavilion G6-1203ey laptop. After installing Windows (7 ultimate, 64 bit) and some drivers on it and after several restarts, it hanged at Windows logo and I had to turn it off with power button. Then after turning it on, it gave me the option to repair problems which are preventing it from starting up, from there I let it to restore the computer to an earlier restore point and after a restart the Windows was working again. After that I decided to do a hard disk check just in case.
The Hard Disk Self Test ended up with a message: Hard Disk 1 Full (305). Then I installed HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) Support Environment and did hard disk from there. I chose the comprehensive test from the options, but it finished fairly quickly (in ~1 minute) with the following output:
Testing Drive: 1
Hard Disk SMART Check : PASSED
Hard Disk Short DST : FAILED

The previous owner told me that the original HDD was faulty which is why he replaced it with this one last year. He said that other than that there has been no problems with the laptop. The Windows is working right now and this HDD is quite new so I would not have expected any problems with it, but the results from the previously mentioned tests seem troubling. Is there a reason to worry?

I read your post and looked into the failure ID that you posted regarding the failed Short DST test. That error is indicating a hard disk failure meaning that if it hasn't failed it might soon. If everything is working I would considering backing up your data on a regular basis just to be safe. You could have a local technician take a look at the hard drive to see how close it is to full failure.
