T430 display miniport problems

Hi, I have a T430 that I have been connecting to my HDTV via mini displayport to HDMI cable.
It was working just fine right out of the box, I had the image on the compiuter as well as on the TV.
All of a sudden, only sound is from computer, not on TV and image is only on TV not on computer.
I know there must be settings that I can change but I am clueless.
Appreciate any help!

If the input on your tv is not the same as the output on your computer (like image is only on TV), you may need to take some extra steps. If you have an HDMI on one end and a DVI on the other, for example, you’ll need a cable which converts the two and likely an additional audio cable (since a DVI output will not be able to output sound).

Win 8 Monthly Update - T430S WAN Miniport Problem

The May 2013 monthly update for Windows 8 leaves a Device Manager error, as well as an error message in Lenovo Solution Center. Four T430S machines receive push updates published by Microsoft every 2nd Tuesday of the month. After this month's push updates, all machines have the same WAN Miniport error in Device Manager.
2 machines were restored to before the May 2013 push updates, and the error went away. Unfortunately, out of the 13 or so updates, the one that appears to be causing the problem is a major update to the OS. However, the push updates do not cause any errors with T61Ps.
Unforutunately, the WAN Miniport cannot be uninstalled. It is part of the network stack. So far, the only way to avoid the problem is to disable Win 8 push updates on T430S machines.

The T430S machines have Intel Ultimate-N 6300 AGN WLAN cards with 3 antennas.
A few months back, there were intermittitent issues with WLAN connectivity. Oddly, the signal strength was strong, but with intermittent internet access. After r&r (removing and replacing) with a new WLAN card from Lenovo, it did not fix the intermittent WLAN connectivity issues.
The WLAN connectivity issues were isolated to weak wireless N internet access performance from the Intel wireless AGN driver. Changing the wireless N channels at the router improved performance marginally (BTW, N channels have different power requirements that affect performance.) However, internet access was still intermittent.
Wireless N WLAN performance dramatically improved when the router was physically 10-15 feet away at most. Since this was not practical, the best work around was to disconnect the machine from the wireless N network and setup a wireless G network at the router. Since then, the range has been excellent with no intermittent connectivity issues.
So far, machines with KB2836988 have not affected wireless G connectivity and performance. Apparently, if you unhide the devices in Device Manager, KB2836988 created a second WAN Miniport for Network Monitoring #2. The second WAN Miniport is the device with the error. From my earlier post, the only was to get rid of the error is to do a system restore to a point before the May 2013 push updates and manually hide KB2836988.
I plan on doing a system restore on another T430S machine to get rid of the error. This time I am going to try and hide all of the other updates except for KB2836988. I am hoping by isolating the KB2836988 as the first push update, I can get rid of the WAN Miniport error. If all goes well, the other updates will be installed afterwards.

You really have to mess with the resoluton, espescially the refresh rate, as it varies from projector to projector, monitor to monitor. Even within the same brand! Because so many manufacturers are trying so many different things to become the next cool kid on the block, and the way the formats are being configured that's now part of the game.
That's why so many professionally produced corporate shows hire a dedicated projectionist for the video presentations. Too many bugs in the honey.
Refresh & sesolution are the first things to look at.
Just so you know that colors in PowerPoint PC, and PowerPoint Mac, don't exactly match... go figure.
I forgot to mention another thing, sometimes it's the projector that needs to be tweaked.

Hi, I read the post about calibration and I probably do that a little too often TBH! As I get so little time out the battery and mainly use my MBP on my lap, usually with the power supply near by, it gets charged to full, run to empty to the point of sleep, or sometimes it even cuts out and then is recharged to full again, so I really think it's new battery time. I've seen non Apple Official ones for between £35 and £65 that have 3 year warranties and state they are around 5200mh but am unsure due to reviews.

Anyway's I have now ordered a non Apple replacement from Amazon for about £35 and it has several good reviews and 4.5 out of 5 stars so I'll see if it works and report back. If it doesn't I'll send it back and get the Official Apple one.

Macbook display color problems

macbook, mac os 10.5.8 updated, display color problem. when i try to fix it by color sync. it says:

Error 6030 caused by Display Miniport

I was getting the 6030 error over the weekend, and found that it was happening whenever I was connecting my laptop to TV using the display miniport (a square-ish port on my laptop similar to USB that is apparently commonly used on Apple products), but not when I switched to using the 15 pin VGA port. Has anyone managed to get their miniport connection working, or is it not supported by the BT sport player?

Satellite L40-14F - Display settings problem

Hi,
I have Toshiba Satellite L40-14F with Intel GMA X3100 video card.
I have display settings problem, I can't change screen resolution and color quality when video card drivers are installed, screen resolution is 800 by 600 pixels and color quality is lowest 4 bits, when i uninstall video card drivers can change it. I try to install other drivers, there are the same problem :( Please help me :)

Aperture crashes when doing enhancements crashed at thread 35 which i think is a display driver problem any ideas folks

Aperture keeps crashing every time I try and do some auto enhancements crash log comes up with crashed at thread 35 or 36 which seems to point to a display driver problem imac 2.16 intel core 2 duo 3gb ram os x 10.6.7.
This is making aperture unusable I might go back to lightroom never had these problems with it.

It was DOA (Dead On Arrival). It is obviously to see it from BIOS to windows backround. I do not think that Lenovo, a famous brand name, could not detect this error before package it.
A giant who wants to become a leader needs to have a QUALIFY first.

I'm going nuts with display driver problems!!!!

I joined the forum some time ago but I can't get back in so I logged in with a new ID.(Pain)
I have a problem that I hope someone can help with When I place any of my work or a photo into CS5-Ext. I can't do any work on it? No matter what tool other than the paint brush I use, as soon as I click on the picture / work it disappears and will only re-appear if I click on it again. I've tried all sorts and it's driving me nuts, Can anyone help?---PLEASE---

That sounds like a display driver problem.
What OS are you running?
If Windows, you can often visit the web site of the maker of your video card and download/install an updated driver.
If OSX, you need to look to Apple and their OS updates to get updated display drivers.

HP Envy X2 (32-bit) upgrade from windows 8.1 to Windows 10 has a display compatibility problem

When I attempt to install Windows 10 on my machine I get an error screen that say's: "The display manufacturer hasn't made your display compatible with Windows 10." The display manufacturer (which is my HP with Intel(R) Graphic Media Accelerator), has a display compatibility problem with Windows 10. Does anyone know what I can do? Actually it's H partition that hp drive encryption is decrypting 5 days now (without % sign). I have only my dropbox data there. I could format that partition and downlad the data from dropbox again (it would take 1 day to download 60 GB of the data again from dropbox). D partition is HP recovery partition but I don't have any problems with it yet (i made a letter mistake in first post). I also made HP recovery media on USB stick. Will hp drive encryption automaticaly update the status of H partition from 'Decrypting' to 'decyrpted', if I format the H: partition? Will drive encyrption login window (WinMagic’s Pre-boot UEFI) (before the windows login) automatically be removed, if I format the H: partition? Will FilterBootOrder (FBO) variable automatically be removed, if I format the H: partition?I imagine this is automaticaly done via decrytion of all partitions/disk in HP client security (which doesn't work correct at my computer). Maybe afterwards the H: partition is formated and HP drive encryption status updated, I can then uninstall hp drive encryption and hp client security and install win10. This is another option.

It depends. If your still within warranty and the display failure isn't your fault you just back up your phone then go to any apple retail store and they'll give you a new one for free. If it is your fault I would still back up your phone and go into the store. Then they'll charge you about £150 and will give you a new one. But you must have your phone backed up. That will be the first thing they ask you.

MBP Display Lines Problem

Hey everyone, I just bought a MBP 15' 2.2Ghz last wednesday and am now seeing a display line problem. I see a green dotted line that extends from the top of the screen to the bottom approximately 2 inches from the right of the screen. The color of the line seems to change slightly depending on whats on the screen. For instance, I had the ladybug wallpaper and the line was almost complete all the way down (stil dotted with a missing section) and the color was bright green. With a different wallpaper that had a night sky and a green figure, the line flickered green/blue in the night sky area and steady green in the green part. My question is whether this is software or hardware related. I read many many other posts and many had display line problems but not the same as this one. Should I get this repaired? Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thanks

Hey man, sorry to heard you have a display problem too. I have a line at the bottom of my display which extends across horizontally. Fortunately, its just a clear, bleached looking line which I can mask with the dock. I dont think I could tolerate the line in which you have described.
I would bring it to the apple store that you bought it from and have one of the apple guys check it out. I would demand a replacement. They will try to repair it. You shouldnt be repairing a defective purchase.
I am on my 2nd MBP. My first was kernal panicing all the time. I got it to KP in the store and he immediately offered a replacement. Apple care is pretty good, so dont be afraid to bring it in and demand a replacement.

T430s Display Port resolution

I have a T430s connected to a Lenovo mini dock station running Windows 7. I have just purchased a 27" monitor which supports up to 2560x1440 resolution. When connect to the monitor using a display port to DVI cable Windows will only allow a maximum resolution of 1680 X 1050. However, if I connect via the VGA adapter I can achieve 2440 X 1440 resolution. Why would this be so?

I have å Lenovo T430s produced late 2012, most expencive Version, type 2356LPG. Intel Graphics 4000. I have three 27" monitors. One so called Display port or Mini Display port or whatever the different makers calls it (!!).
Monitors: 1)Samsung 27inch S27B970D Series 9 2)Asus PB278Q. Of course the monitors doesnt have det same input/port type as the PC (Grrrr!). Of course you need a converter (Grrrr!). When you Connect the dual-DVI cable from the ASUS Monitor to the Lenovo T430s, the ASUS Monitor shows an error Message "Cable Incorrect, please use Dual Link". SO, either the Output Mini Display port is not supporting 2560*1440, or the adaptor doesnt. Adaptor to HDMI same problem.
Either way - This is crap! What shall the customer do?!! Try out all the 10'000 adapters on the marked, to find one that Works?! If it will ever work, without a docking..... I have been trying to find information on the mini-display port from Lenovo. I find this forum, with incompetence, but no information.
With so many 27" monitors comming on the marked, all with more or less the same input plugs, why the heck are the produsers of the PC's so far behind!?? Not even information....no adaptors following the Product..... I also have Asus and Samsung PC's - all With different plugs.... Shall I shop an arsenal of adaptors.............?!?! And hope the best cause noone knows if it will work......... IS IT 2013 ALSO IN CHINA??

Downgrading T61 from Vista to XP Display Driver Problem

Hi, We have recently downgraded a T61 laptop's OS from Windows Vista to Windows XP SP2 using the recovery CDs provided by the vendor. After the downgrade, all the factory default applications and drivers were installed properly, except for the video driver. I have downloaded and installed the available display driver from Lenovo web site (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/license.do?filename=mobiles/7ld150ww.exe) but whenever I try to install it, it gives me the following error message: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software. Setup will now exit." I am confident that our laptop meets the minimum requirements: It has 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD etc. Any idea how to solve this problem. Many thanks in advance! - Cris
