T430 Optimus keeps going into powersaving mode

While I'm using my T430 I'll hear the Windows "device disconnect" sound and all my displays will go black. A second later, I'll hear the "device connect" sound and the screens come back with all the windows rearranged and I'll see the attached image. I've already tried installing the latest Nvidia drivers, changing Lenovo Power Manager to High Performance, and uninstalling Lenovo Power Manager, but it doesn't seem to have helped. Any ideas?

In Lenovo Power Manger? All I see for Multimedia settings is "When Playing Video [Optimize video quality, balanced optimize battery savings]". I have it on Optimize video quality already.

Just reset your phone:
Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.
This should let you use the phone normally, no restore needed.

I understand you are using a cellular iPad 2 and since upgrading to iOS 8 (and 8.0.2) your iPad drops the cellular connection and says, "No Service".
So you have done step 5 in this list, but please test the other steps.
If you see No Service in the status bar of your iPhone or iPad
If you're in your carrier's coverage area
Follow these steps, testing after each.
Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Restart your device.
Remove the SIM card. If the SIM card is damaged, worn, or bent, or if it's too big or small for the SIM tray, contact your carrier for a new one. Then reinsert the SIM card.
Check for a carrier-settings update: Connect to a Wi-Fi network, tap Settings > General > About, and install any available carrier-settings updates. If you can't connect to Wi-Fi, connect your device to a computer that has iTunes.
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
Contact your carrier to check for any network or account issues.
Restore your iPhone.

Try to start Firefox in [[Safe mode|Safe mode]]. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works find in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.
A few other basic trouble shooting things you can try is this:
Run all Windows Updates, install all needed service packs, etc.
Update your graphics driver (Firefox uses your graphics card for some rendering, and an out of date graphics card driver can cause problems. [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers].

Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. [http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/]. This helps check that there are no viruses on your computer causing issues. you can uninstall this program after you clean off any infections.

My phone keeps going into a zoom or huge text mode and I cannot get it back to normal. I also have an iPad that I send and receive messages on so not sure if that is causing a problem, it never was a problem before this upgrade.

OS X Yosemite is for Macs, not iPhones. Perhaps you meant iOS 8.
Try tapping twice on the screen with three fingers.
And/or go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom OFF.
It has been this way since iOS 5.

This is usually a sign that your iPod's headphones are not plugged in all the way. Make sure that you cannot see any of the silver still showing from the headphone's plug. You should hear a sort of popping/clicking noise when inserting the headphones letting you know that they have been fully seated.

Is the phone jailbroken? Was it hacked to unlock it? Has it been physically damaged? Did you get it wet?

Mac Tower Pro 10.8.5 keeps going into sleep mode

Purchased from Apple, refurbished 2012 Mac Tower Pro. At the same time, purchased a new Dell U2713HM, 27" monitor.
Have been operating on this new system since about the first week of December 2013.
Issue:
The computer has constantly gone into sleep mode after a few minutes of no activity. I can have iTunes radio playing, but the system still goes into sleep mode. As I am typing and moving the curser, the machine stays awake.
This has caused much frustration because when it goes into auto sleep mode, it quits all programs that I am in, and when it does this, I lose all the work I had accomplished. It litterally closes everything and goes to sleep in about 2-3 minutes of no activity.
BTW: the computer and monitor have all its new OEM cables that came in the box, when I purchased the units.
Solutions attempted:
System Preferences — Energy Saver: computer sleep and display sleep set to "never" and unclicked the box "Put hard disks to sleep when possible."
Dell settings: Turned off all energy savers.
Results:
Nothing. Problem persists.

I apologize for the angst. The problem has cost too much money in lost time and material because when it would automatically shut down after a few minutes, all my work was lost.
I misunderstood the terms of the warranty. Thank you for your input and patience. Much appreciated. For the benefit of others that experience this with a new Mac that auto shuts down. Check the following:
1. Go to System Preferences.
2. Click on Security and Privacy.
3. Click on Advanced (bottom right corner)
4. If the first line is checked (Log out after 5 minutes of inactivity); uncheck it and then click OK button.
5. Be sure to click the lock before existing Security and Privacy.
Now the machine will cease shutting down programs to go into sleep mode as soon as machine is inactive for a few minutes.

New LG Monitor Screen Image Keeps Shifting a few pixels left and right / goes into power save mode

I just purchased a new LG Computer Monitor from Best Buy today and hooked it up to my PowerMac computer. Shortly after setting it up, the entire screen image started sporadically shifting left and right a few pixels. And then, at seemingly random times, it'll shut itself down, going into power save mode. I checked the cables to make sure they were secure and they seem to be. Could there be some sort of interference that's causing it? Or would it be the graphics card? My computer is only a couple years old. Please help!

Do you have another computer you can plug the monitor into to test?

TV is going in cycles with initial set-up everytime it connects to my internet and says connected successfully. after it tries to update software and tv restartssame initial set-up screen again i tried keypad button on remote and it took me to tv. i was able to see tv that way but whenever i start tv, it goes back into initial set-up again. any solution for this?

IPhone restarts and keeps going into searching....

My iPhone 4S keeps going into searching.... mode, sometimes every couple of minutes or so, but mostly constantly throughout the day, it often does it when I'm talking on the phone which is really annoying. It has been doing this since I bought it and took a long time to search for the network when I bought it at the shop and the sim card was first put in.
It also keeps restarting itself when I'm using it, the screen distorts then the Apple sign comes up and I have to wait for it. Yesterday it did it for ages and despite rebooting it wouldn't turn back on, so I pluged it into my netbook, which is where I sync and back it up and it finally started up again. I can't use the camera at all at the moment as every time I open the app it just restarts. It started doing this about a month ago and has got steadily worse since.
I only bought it a couple of months ago. I have restored it a couple of times and have the latest iOS version.
Is there anything else I can try?

Downloads don't prevent ML from going into energy savings mode

Since installing ML (clean install) most of the downloads (no matter what program) I do cannot be left unattended because as soon as I leave the computer alone, ML eventually goes into energy savings mode, causing my downloads to cease.
Any idea how to prevent that (other than switching the energy saving off)?

None of the available setting suit my needs. I could turn the settings to "off" anytime I want to download something, but I never had to do this before on my Macs.
