T430 Recovery Disc

I am in need of the recovery Disc for a Lenovo T430 (QH6-2349) that I've recently purchased. It comes with Win 7 Pro 32 bit, but I would like to run 64bit Windows on it without loosing the "Lenovo" Windows.
So, it would help if someone with a similar or anything close enough that could provide me with the image of the recovery dic.

Got the answer.

  • Windows 8 Recovery Disc not working

    Hi everbody,
    I have purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad T430.
This laptop came with pre-installed Windows 7 Pro.
However I want to use Windows 8 which I have a recovery disc for.
I built in a SSD instead of the optical drive. So I don´t have a optical drive.
On this SSD I want to run my OS.
With a software from Samsung (manufacturer of my SSD) I was able to copy the Windows7 OS on my SSD.
As I mentioned above I bought a laptop with installed windows 7 pro and a Windows 8 upgrade disc.
Therefore I got the "Operating System Recovery Dis Windows 8 Pro. (OEM Activation 3.0 Required)".
The problem now is that I have an upgrade disc but no optical drive.
So I created an image of the upgrade disc and with this image I have created a bootable USB stick with the following program:
    http://www.chip.de/downloads/UNetbootin_34673960.html
When I boot my laptop using the bootable USB stick everything seems to be working until to the point where I have to accept the EULA.
So I chose a  language, and clicked on "I accept the agreements".
When I want to click on "next" I got a error message "recovery failed".
Please have a look on the following picture taken with my smartphone.
The language used in this picture is german as i live in Austria.
    Link to image
Do you know how I can upgrade to Windows 8?
Can you tell me why the upgrade disc is not working?
    Best Regards,

Dear Phisto, from your description i cannot tell you anything more about the disk apart from the obvious, that it seems to be incomplete without the other 11 disks of the set. Did you buy this disk from Lenovo, from Microsoft, or is it something that came from unofficial channels? If it is the latter maybe you should not try to install it...
Now for cloning the SSD back to your HDD. The software that came with your Samsund should be able to do that as well. If not, then if your HDD is a Western Digital you can download and use Acronis WD edition from WD's site, it's free and will do the cloning. Otherwise you should use a free tool, Clonezilla is one of them and of course there are more.
As for the location of your various drives, I would suggest to keep things really really basic if you want to troubleshoot effectively, so the best thing would be to return the system to a "factory" condition, of course with the SSD in place of the HDD. You don't know which parameter is causing you trouble at this point. So, of course it would be easier to use an external DVD drive (and you should try it!), butif it fails as well you should try also the other approach.
    I hope you solve this.

  • Recovery disc from Lenovo

Hi all.  I have a T500 ThinkPad, and my hard drive failed the other day.  I never got around to making any recovery media, even though I have had the machine for almost a couple years.  I have read on the Lenovo support page that I can get a recovery disc from them.  My question though is whether this includes the OS.  It would seem that it would, but I just want to make sure.  Thanks.

Yeahh, recovery media you can order for your model, completely recover your laptop to state of your first switchining on of your machine. It creates hidden recovery partition on your disc and of course system partition C with operating system and all drivers and applications. The first step should be eavch time firstly to burn your Recovery Media, if you did not do it, unfortunatelly it will cost you some money, i have paid for recovery media about 30 EUR.

Try to find the the program RRmedia.exe with windows search.
Click it to start and create your media. You´ll need more than 6 CD´s or 2 or 3 DVD´s.
In my system (XP) you´ll find  RRmedia.exe in: "C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\Lenovo\spi\RRMedia.exe"

  • Vista with XP Downgrade and no recovery discs - how do I create recovery discs?

Interesting -- I also purchased the Windows Vista Business (sticker that says so on the bottom of the T61) with the pre-loaded downgrade to Windows XP Professional.
I created Product Recovery discs, as the OP was advised, but didn't notice any indication during the creation process whether these were for the Windows XP Professional that was preinstalled, the Windows Vista Business (which is licensed and has a sticker on the bottom of the T61), or both. Anyone know?
And if it's only for XP, then how does one get Windows Vista Business media to which the license applies?

    Hello awolfe63,
Your are not alone, some members of thinkpad-forum.de also have the same experience.
No Vista, just XP recovery options,
either from R&R Cd´s/DVD`S or hddpartition.
One member asked his retailer in regard of this problem, cause Lenovo Hotline tells they won´t be able to
ship Vista recovery disks, the retailer said, that we´ll have to wait for an answer,
    from Lenovo.

When I had problems creating recovery media for my T60p I called Lenovo to ask for assistance. After giving the CSR a description of the errors I was encountering and what I tried to do about them, he decided it would be easier for both of us if Lenovo sent me a set of media. YMMV.

  • T61 - Unable to create recovery discs

I'm trying to create a set of recovery discs for my Thinkpad T61, but when I run the Create Recovery Media software, the CD drive never shows up as an option to select as a recordable drive.  The dropdown list remains blank no matter what I do.  I have tried various types of media and nothing seems to show up for any of them.  Am I missing something, or is there something else that I need to try?

what´s up, when you try to burn a disc with your sonic recording software?
Is Sonic recognising your blank dvd?
May your DVD drive is faulty?

  • Lenovo T61p - Product recovery disc creation fails

    Hi,
I tried creating a set of product recovery disc, the process started decently to extract the information/files. Then the process abruptly stops and gives a msg saying "The process has encountered an internal error."
    Pls Help.
    Rgds,
    Sumit

As  lead_org  says, call Lenovo and explain the problem you have encountered, especially the error message, "The process has encountered an internal error." If they don't offer to send you free recovery media, politely explain to them that it's not your fault that you can't make the media on your own. If you're firm and persistent (call back later and try another agent) they will relent

  • X301 - Problem creating Product Recovery Disc

    Hello,
I recently purchased an X301 laptop and have been trying to create a product recovery disc but to no avail.
Shortly after I begin the process, I get a message saying "Drive is not ready or is busy performing another operation."
Can anyone please suggest what might be the problem?
    The DVD burner is a Mat**bleep**a dvd-ram UJ-844 and I am using a SONY DVD+R DL disc.
    Thanks.

    machdeuce, welcome to the forum,
which OS do you have installed?
I have noticed that, using Vista, that the Vista "autoplay" function interferes with creating recovery discs. It sort of "takes over the drive". When required, insert the blank disc and click on the OK button before the Vista " autoplay has a chance to run. The autoplay dialogue field will come up and show the usual; copy files to disc etc., but you can then just close it without worry as the R&R has already received it's "orders" and will continue without problems.
    Hope this helps

  • T430s Recovery Media

Hi all. I've been having some issues with my latpop lately and figured I'd just go ahead and return it to factory settings. I opened up Rescue and Recovery and followed the directions starting on page 61 of this manual. I followed the on screen instuctions after booting from the newly created disc, clicked restore to factory settings and all. After about 10 seconds a popup says "Please insert Applications and Drivers Recovery Disc 1 into drive D:"
I was never prompted to create those discs from R&R. I can't boot back into Windows now and have to clue what to do. Can someone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks a lot.

How many discs did the Create Rescue Media procedure produce?
I have a total of 4 discs, one bootable and 3 data discs. Although I've never had the need to test it, at the "Please insert Applications and Drivers Recovery Disc 1 into drive D:" I'd insert the first of the 3 data discs. Is that what you did?

Have you been calling using a mobile phone?  If that's a toll free number it may be being blocked by your service provider.

  • Can not create recovery discs on satellite C875D-S7330

Can not create recovery discs on satellite C875D-S7330. Drive runs and appears to be doing it thing, then aborts saying it has error to check disc for scratch or dust on media. Error code: OEO1B5-26-2AO3OC 00 . Tried 3 new discs all same results. Tried a 4th disc trying to continue on with disc 2 of recovery discs, got another error on this one. Error code: 020150-20-00000000.
Anyone have a fix for this? Had this machine less than 24hrs.
    Thanks
    Don B.

Personally, I would get a 16gig USB thumb drive and put your recovery on it.  It eliminates having to swap disks during recovery and it's easy to store.  I've used mine several times and it's worked perfectly every time.

  • Satellite U400 Impossible to create recovery DVD with Recovery disc creator

    Hi,
I have a Satellite U400 (few years old), and I never created the recovery DVD.
Now I want to do it, but for some reasons, when I launch Toshiba recovery disc creator, nothing happens...
The partition with the recovery files is there, as well as the folder HDDRecovery. I did add some files to this partition, could this be the problem ?
    Thanks for your help.

It is big problem now if the Toshiba tool cannot find the files.
How it works you can read on http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=140985
    Check it out please.
What you can try now is to check if HDD recovery installation will start - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm but Im afraid the same problem will occurs again.
To be honest you should install Win7 32bit on this small Satellite notebook. It works perfectly. Forget original Vista OS, Win7 works better.

  • (Resolved) Windows 8 - Recovery Discs Do Not Work With New Hard Drive

    Update:
I decided to buy drive cloaning software.  I cloned my drive, that resolved the problem of installing the OS on the new drive.  Too bad neither HP's Restore disc's or this support fourm could help with this issue.
    Origional Post:
    Product Name:  HP Pavilion G4-2235DX
    Product Number:  C3Q50UAR#ABA
    BIOS:  Insyde F.26, 2/21/2013
    Processor: AMD A6-4400M APU w/ Radeon HD Graphics, 2700 Mhz, 2 Core(s)
    BIOS Mode:  UEFI
    SMBIOS Version:  2.7
    RAM:  12GB
    Operating System:  Windows 8 - 64bit (6.2.9200 Build 9200)
Situation:  I purchased this computer new as a refurbished model from a retail store.  I created system restore discs after initial setup using the HP Recovery Media Creation Utility.  This system has a 500 GB hard drive.  I purchased a Western Digital 1 TB hard drive to upgrade the drive in this notebook.  After swaping out the drives and trying to load the recovery onto the new 1TB hard drive in the same computer, an HP dialogue so states "This PC is not supported by the System Recovery Discs. You will not be able to continue to recover this system with these discs."  It gives a code (doesn't call it an error code) 0110-C3150UQ43#ABA underneath and only option is okay, the system reboots and follows the same pattern again and again.
I have upgraded drives in the past on Vista and 7 the same way using self created HP recovery discs with no issue, I do know what i'm doing.    I've seen discussion mentioning BIOS issues and other such problems.  I did try updating the BIOS to the one on the HP Support page (2013-03-01 , Version:F.26, 7.76M) and the recovery discs still will not work.  I found the CyberLink Recovery Discs Utility thread, however this solution/software has no support for Windows 8.  I have tried to run the utility and it fails, tried with compatiabity and it failed.  Why is this happening and what can be done to resolve this problem?
I tried using chat support but it won't let me get through to anyone, claiming my warranty is expired.  I just bought this computer 3 days ago and was assured a 90 day warranty.
    Please help, Thanks.

    Information on the warranty:
Refurbished computers are often erroneously marked as out of warranty, but it is simple to fix, and a phone representative could have corrected that for you. All computers' warranty start dates begin on the day they leave the factory. HP knows that there will be a period where the computer will sit on a shelf (for days or months) at the retailer. With refurbished computers, their 90-day warranties begin on the day they are refurbished. HP has no way of knowing what date the customer will buy the computer so the warranty start date stays the same until the customer registers the computer providing the date of purchase for the warranty system to be updated. If the registration process fails for some reason (rare, but it happens), phone technical support has a process they can initiate to have the warranty corrected. They only need a copy of the receipt showing the date of purchase.
I hope this information helps! Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks again for you post!

  • Recovery discs do not work with new hard drive

Hi I have come here desperately seeking help as I am not too knowledgeable with the workings of computers and I have spent an incredible amount of time just trying to get my laptop to some level of functionality.  I purchased a HP Envy and it had a corrupt hard drive which would not work from day one, laptop was new.  After a year of constant pressure on HP they finally decided to replace it and let me choose any laptop so I went with the Beats Envy 14 as it was the best one offered from the selection.  Low and behold the thing would not work properly from day one, again my brother who is much more of an expert said that there was definitely a hard drive issue so for the past 3 years I have put up with a computer that constantly crashes with BSOD, where I have lost data on numerous occasions (only so often I can back up), that I have had to constantly reset the thing using HP recovery discs, and that generally cannot cope when performing multiple tasks.   HP are most certainly shocking builds from my experience.  Then just last week the hard drive just craps itself and the laptop no longer will boot up.  I took it to a guy to get it at leYst working again so he has installed a new hard drive but with an old version of Windows 7.  I want to go back to the Windows version I was akin to on the HP recovery disk , and essentially have it all set up as before except for now having a workable hard drive however I get the message:  "This computer is not supported by the System Recovery Discs. You will not be able to continue to recover this system with these discs.Error: 0100 - 3385 - 3078" I also tried out of interest to load my old Windows 7 disc I had and XP but had no success.  Tried booting from startup etc and various things suggested on help forums.  Please tell me I am not stuck with this version of windows.  Whilst the discs included Windows 7 it was a totally different version, this home premium one is terrible. Any help/advice would be gratefully received. Thanks

no they were both 500gb. I read about that already, I heard about creating a partition for recovery etc but this is all a bit above me , as I said I am not very technical when it comes to the working of a computer.  These discs worked perfectly before but now with the new hard drive will not load at all.  I essentially hate the Windows Home Premium verions the guy who fixed it put on, whilst the discs had Windows 7 on them the icons were way smaller, the desktop neater, the buttons different, everything was a lot more modern and I was used to it.  This version looks like something from the 90s, have to constantly adjust size of Mozilla when browsing as it is huge.  I have my own version of Windows 7 on another disc but the hard drive will not let it load either........considering waiting for Windows 10 but again unsure if this new hard drive will even let that update Thanks
