  • What cable(s) for audio on hp zr2440w monitor with HP 3005pr port replicator and HP Folio laptop?

I have an HP ZR2440w monitor.
I have an HP Folio laptop.
I have an HP 3005pr port replicator.
I want to use the monitor's built-in speakers.
Question 1) What cable do I need to connect the port replicator to the monitor to use the monitor's built-in speakers?
Question 2) Does the monitor have a built-in microphone?
Question 2b) If yes, what cable do I need to connect the port replicator to the monitor to use the monitor's built-in microphone?
    Thanks!

I understand you have some questions connecting the zr2440w monitor to the Hp 3005pr port replicator.
The back of the replicator should look something like this.
Question 1) What cable do I need to connect the port replicator to the monitor to use the monitor's built-in speakers?
The green headphone jack is how you would connect it to a set of external speakers.  If the monitor has its own speakers, it should have a port to match it.  This is a standard 3.5mm audio jack, so any standard 3.5mm speaker cable should work.  I will note that this monitor didn't list any audio input.  Monitors that have speakers usually have an analog audio input jack.
Question 2) Does the monitor have a built-in microphone?
This guide lists all the features of this monitor starting on page 2.  It doesn't appear to have a microphone.  You could still connect an external microphone to the port replicator's microphone jack.
Let me know if this answered your questions.

  • USB Port Replicator 2nd monitor doesn't work on restart with Vista

    Greetings wise wizards of Lenovo:
I'm helping a friend with the USB Port Replicator, who is running Windows Vista Home Premium on her Acer laptop. She has all of the necessary hardware requirements, and I've installed the Lenovo USB Port Replicator drivers with once with Vista (automatically installing the drivers), once with the CD, and finally from the Lenovo website. The problem is that the port replicator works fine upon installation, but as soon as Vista is restarted, not only does a second monitor not appear automatically, it doesn't appear at all.
Connecting the second monitor to the laptop VGA port works fine, and I can extend the desktop across both the laptop and the second monitor... it is only a problem on restart with the port replicator. I've uninstalled and resintalled three times now, once with letting Vista provide the drivers automatically, once with the CD, and once with the website download.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Zovoth

Mines not working on XP. Works fine until I re-boot then I have a hard time getting it to work. I've tried unplugging the ac adapter, usb, tried switching my monitors and still nothing. Both monitors are functioning properly. The icon for the repilicator does not show up down the clock. It's in my program files with the only option to uninstall.
Comon Lenovo, there hasn't been an answer to this question since 2008???

Sorry can you explain what you mean if the machine stands straight up in the replicator? Also, which machine are we talking about here and the model of the port replicator?

  • Port replicator and volume controls

hi - i have a new USB port replicator hooked up to my T42 Thinkpad. I plugged my external speakers into the port replicator's headphone jack. The speakers work, but now the volume controls on my laptop don't do anything. I have to make any volume adjustments using the controls on the speakers themselves. Anything I can do about this? Thanks for your help.

ok, thanks for you answer. maybe "port replicator" was the wrong term.
    actually, I have this:
I have 2 docks like that at my office. P/N I have are 0B56232 and SD20A23326 (FRU: 04Y2072 and 04W3587)
the reference (433615W) mentionned on my previous message was wrong.
I have the same port between the yellow port and the white port, and it looks like a display port (?)
and, I have just an other question about these docks: do I have to shut down or hibernate the machine before taking them off the dock (with usb devices plugged on the dock)? I think so but I'm not sure.. thanks

  • 43R8770 Port Replicator and network connection

I have a 43R8770 port replicator that I'm connecting to an SL500 Thinkpad running XP Pro sp2. Everything seems to be working correctly except the USB network adapter. Neither light on the adapter wll come on when it's plugged in and connected to the network. Anyone have similar problems? If so, how did you fix it?

I just uninstalled Access Connections, and now I can connect via ethernet through the USB port replicator.

  • 45K1610 Port Replicator and Thinkpad T510 cause Autodesk Inventor 2011 crashes in Windows 7 x64

The Lenovo 45K1610 Port Replicator driver, when installed, causes Autodesk Inventor 2011 to crash when opening files. It also crashes the Inventor crash reporting tool, with a logged crash in the nVidia driver. The latest drivers from Lenovo for both the nVidia driver and the Port Replicator do not fix the issue. Uninstalling the port replicator driver fixes the issue. This is on Windows 7 x64 Enterprise.

We are having the same problem on a Thinkpad Edge 15 0302, is there any updates?

  • OS X Tiger Loading Problem and Monitor Question

Ok guys, I have two questions for you Mac Experts.
    1. Yesterday, I was trying to load OS X Tiger, from CD onto my 400mhz Rev.2 Power Mac and I tried it about 5-9 times, and it kept giving me an error message saying that installation failed, or "Hold the power button, and hit reset". I took the hard drive out, put it in my slot loader iMac, and loaded up tiger onto that just fine, with no problems. So, it's not the CD's or the hard drive. The funny thing is that when i put the hard drive back into my power mac, it runs just fine. No problems. Do you think it is the CD Drive or what? Maybe a Logic Board Problem?
    2. I just picked up a Flat Screen iMac 1st gen. I was wondering if there was a cable that I could use to connect the iMac to my Power Mac and use the iMac as a screen for my Power Mac. The guy at the electronics store showed me some mac adaptor that would fit into my iMac, and that had a serial port at the end. Could i connect that serial end, into the serial port of my Power Mac and have it read as a monitor? If this is possible, that would be great. If not, i will stop being a cheap skate, and buckle down and purchase a flat screen monitor. Any help would be great.

Ok, let me see if this helps any.
I downloaded Dimm Memory check thing that you said, it it shows that all of my RAM is ok. All of my RAM is either pc 100 or pc 133, so no issues there.
I downloaded the most up to date firmware, and i said that my firmware is up to date. Dont know if loading it made it up to date, or if it already was.
The video card is the origial Rage 128 or something. Whatever came with the Power Mac, is in there.
I was just downloading updateds in tiger, and got that stupid error message to hold the power, and restart. I am going to try this machine now in tiger, and get back to you.
Also thanks for the link about the iMac Flat Screen. I will look into it.

  • X300 Port Replicator & External Monitor - response from LENOVO requested

Will LENOVO please provide an indication as to when the X300 and external monitor limitation will be resolved.
    I refer to http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-69755
    Extract from this document:-
    "External monitor
With a Thinkpad X300 notebook system, while in Windows XP, the external monitor cannot be set to primary. The LCD must remain primary and the external monitor set to secondary. While under Windows Vista, the external monitor can be set as primary and the LCD set to secondary. This situation is currently under investigation."

i can't speak for lenovo but have you tried the kensington SD200V driver to see if that fixes the problem?

  • IPIVR 8.0 port usage and monitor

    Hi All,
Couple of queires related to UCCX 8.0:
•- Is it possible to set an alert (email notification) if a set threshold of port usage is reached; so I can immediately come to know that the ports are about to exhaust
•- Is there any report / way to find out peak utilization of ports for given day / time interval. I know there is a historical report in Webview to see port utilization, but it gives average percentage of port utilization. So say if port utilization has reached peak for one minute in 30 minute interval; average percentage will be less than 100%.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
first, about that email alert: some assembly required.
You can do it the "polling the realtime tables" way or the "have each script check" way, or the "IP IVR Default script" way.
Polling realtime tables: write a simple script which takes a look every now and then (for instance 5-8 seconds) at the Network_Trunk_Group_Real_Time database view. There is a couple of columns to watch, for instance: AllTrunksBusyToday, CallsInToday, CallsInNow. If a threshold is met, send an email.
The second option: use an If node in your ICM script to check for the same/simliar values, from the NetworkTrunkGroup section. If a condition is met, have IP IVR (or an Application Gateway Application) send your alert.
The third option: for the Translation Routing application in UCCX, configure the maximum number of sessions to the number of ports available for that port group. Configure a default script for that application that sends an email. So any time the maximum number of sessions threshold is reached, the default script will be run and send your alert.
About historical port usage: again, take a look at the database schema. For instance, Network_Trunk_Group_Half_Hour.

  • Replicator and shapes question

Does anyone know of a way to import an Illustrator (text saved as an outline) file into Motion and be able to use it as a "Shape Source" under the "Geometry" setting of a Replicator. Basically I'd like to use the outlines of a text object in the same way that you can create a bezier shape within Motion and attach cells to its edge. Picture (if you will) a sign with lights traveling along the edge of each letter. Thats what I want to create. I was able to do this using the Bezier shape tool but I was hoping for an easier way. If I try to import a PDF file the replicator wants to use the edge of the object not the edge of the outlines. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

Hi, thanks for the link. I took a look at this script a while back and whereas I'm sure it would work (because the Shake tracker to Motion script works) unfortunately I'm still using Illustrator 10. I think I even tried this script before and it wouldn't work with version 10.
    Anybody else?

  • Lenovo USB 3.0 Dock / Port Replicator (0A33970) and ThinkPad T430

Purchased a 0A33970 port replicator and having issues getting it working.  Cannot display to an external monitor.  Trouble shooting suggests bringing up the GUI but I don't see options for managing or troubleshooting.  The CD would not autostart, mouse does not seem to work, really not impressed so far and had to disconnect everything to get some work done today.  Who has gone through the process of standing up an A33970 and getting it to work right?  My T430 was just built in September of 2013 so it is fresh and should be compatible with the A33970.

  • Lenovo USB 2.0 Port Replicator Freezes Issues and Problems

Okay, I have THREE of these port replicators in my office, and ALL THREE have the exact same problem on various laptops(X1, T420, Edge 13) with various kayboard/mice.  I've been through all stages of the port replicator drivers on the various systems, and the issue is always there.  All laptop drivers are updated.
Here is the issue: working away, and then bam, mouse and keyboard don't work.  I'm working in a external monitor only display setup.  I go to the keyboard/touchpad on the laptop and they don't work...however ctrl+alt+delete works on the laptop keyboard(not the regular one).  Then the touchpad works...but I can't click on any of the settings EXCEPT sleep.  When I press a button to wake it up, everything works fine.  Basic external keyboards/mice, no need for different drivers.
The other thing that fixes everything is unplugging the USB connection from the port replicator and plugging it back in to the laptop(or unplugging the power to the port replicator).
The weird thing is that I took the keyboard and mouse and they are plugged into the laptop itself, NOT the dock, and I still get the same issue with responsiveness.  This happens on ALL the docks, so it's not a keyboard/mouse driver thing.
The one thing that's occuring to me is that maybe it's a weird display issue?  I haven't tried actually using the external or laptop keyboard to run commands while it's frozen...and I also haven't tried unplugging things from the port replicator one by one (such as unplugging the display cable from the port replicator, then the printer, then the ethernet).  I'll keep you updated if I get any further.  It's been like this for months, and my users are just doing the workarounds.  one thing is for sure...
I'M NEVER GOING TO SUBSTITUE THIS PORT REPLICATOR FOR A NORMAL DOCK AGAIN! (although i have no choice with the X1).

Hi skrasher, welcome to the forum,
could you please try the following to see if it changes the behaviour of the USB ports.  In Device Manager, with the port rep attached, disable the ability on each of the USB Root Hubs for Windows to disable the device in order to save power, restart the system and see if the problem still occurs.
Let us know how you get on.
    edit; for clarity

  • Port Replicator (45K1610), x301, and resolution help

I have a x301, a port replicator with model number 45K1610, and a Dell 22" wide screen monitor.  When I connect the monitor directly to the laptop I can get the max resolution of 1680x1050 out of the monitor but when I plug the monitor through the port replicator I can only get a max resolution of 1440x900.  We have some customers here that what to run the monitor through the port replicator and have it mirror the laptop with the resolution of 1680x1050.  I have not been able to find a way to do this and according to the specs of the port replicator it is capable of pushing a resolution greater than the 1680x1050.  Anyone have any idea on how to get this to work?  Thanks.

I am having the same issue. For some reason, mirroring will only match the max laptop resolution on the external display. I have a 24" monitor that can display 1080p. I need to get the external display to AT LEAST 1600x1200.
I understand the you can extend to the external display, but I am unable to set the external display as the primary monitor (move the start button, taskbar, etc) to the external.
