T43p ATI Video Driver gives blue screen

Hi,
I have been having issues with the video driver for the ATI graphics card for Thinkpad T43p despite downloading the latest driver available on the Lenovo at:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-61503
The driver file “ati2dvag” crashes my Windows XP operating system. Would you kindly direct me to the driver to resolve this issue or let me know if I need to change some settings? My graphics card is “ATI MOBILITY FIREGL V3200”
Thank you,
Nitin

Welcome to the forum!
My experience has been that this type of issue arising on a T4x/R5x series machine with ATi GPU usually points to a failing graphics card.
This is the driver I use on my own T43p:

Good luck.

  • Satellite A60: ATI graphics driver issue - blue screen error

    Hello,
I have a Sattelite A60, and I have had it for a year, and now suddenly, I have frequent crashes. The Blue Screen of Death tells me that it is caused by a driver not working properly, namely an ATI driver.

I deinstalled the display drivers and for a short while it seemed to work. However, the blue screen of death did not reappear, but now my laptop suddenly switches itself off: immediate powerdown. Also, I have had the driver failing to work properly: this resulted in the screen resolution suddenly resetting itself to safe mode. De blue screen I got before mentioned that the fault lay in ati2dvag.dll - the windows error analysis screen that appeared after my reboot told me that the problem with this dll again caused the problem. This was before and after the reinstall of the Toshiba drivers.
Going to try and reinstall them again now. See if it works this time.

  • Audigy 4 gives blue screen during install of drivers on Windows XP SP3

FAudigy 4 gives blue screen during install of drivers on Windows XP SP3! Specs
    Asus a8n-sli
    GB RAM
    6600 GT
    Audigy 4
    LC Power 550 W PSU
I put in the installation CD that comes with the card. I want to install everything (full install), and mid-install I get a blue screen.
I then uninstalled everything and tried only to install the updated drivers from the website in safe-mode and still a blue screen. Should I get the dump file and send it to Creative?
How do get this card to work like it should? I also have a remote control that came together with the card.
Im currently using the onboard AC97 Realtek ALC850 soundcard.
Whats the whole procedure to make this work? Detailed please. How do I eliminate all traces of the audigy on my PC?

Re: Audigy 4 gives blue screen during install of drivers on Windows XP SP38 Perhaps you'd want to read this old thread of mine about my misadventures with the same exact card you are trying to use. IMHO that card was not worth the time and money I spent on it (even even less the time and money it caused me to spend afterwards to repair the damage it caused.

  • Amd/ati video drive

Question.. i'm having a problem with my AMD/ATI VIDEO DRIVE.. It has been suggested to uninstall the program.. will my laptop run properly or how do i resolve this issue.. i no longer have a warranty it is almost 4 years old...

Your graphics card(and most hardware) requires drivers to run efficiently. If you do not have proper drivers installed your graphics card may run at full performance and overheat. The best thing to do is go to the AMD website and download the latest drivers for your graphics card.
Btw what problem are you facing?

  • Satellite Pro M50: ATI Radeon Mobility 200 - Blue Screen error

    Hi,
My girlfriend has a Satellite Pro M50, she bought it around 3 weeks ago, recently it has begun freezing while in general use (playing music, browsing web over wifi etc) and then it blue screens. The blue screen only stays on for a fraction of a second before disappearing and restarting the machine.
Once it has booted up again i send the error report to Microsoft and this lets me know that it may have been the ATI drivers, i went to the ati site to look for drivers but for some reason there were none for the mobility 200m, i used the drivers from the toshiba site instead and this seemed to fix the problem for a short while, but it is now happening again, is this a software or hardware problem and what should i do?
any ideas anyone (machine specs below)?
    Toshiba Satellite Pro M50
    Intel Celeron 1.5ghz
    512mb RAM
    40gb HDD
    ATI Mobility Radeon 200m
    Win XP Home Ed
    cheers
    Rich

When you boot up the computer, after the toshiba logo goes off hit F8 until it gives you the advanced boot up options. Boot up with the Computer does not restart after a fatal error. This will freeze the Blue screen when it shows up. Once it does copy the 0x00000 code and post it here. If you have a good stick of ram try that and see if it works. If not it could be the video memory.
Or it could just be that the GPU is overheating because it is defective and needs to be replaced. Try another ram, and post the error code. If new ram has same issue, reinstall the OS and see if that fixes it. If not, could be a defective video card or even a processor. At which point I advise taking it to your ASP and have them test it to find the true cause.
Hope this helps narrow it down.

  • Videos cause a blue screen in XP Pro

Hello all, I have been led to this site after hours of google searching and reading similar problems. the only thing I noticed is that most of the people having the same problem are from 2005 or 2007! The other thing I noted is the lack of any solution so I thought I should start a new thread myself...
Every time I try to import any video into my itunes (latest version) for my ipod nano (latest software update) I get, 90% of the time, an instant blue screen that references win32k.sys
I do not have any other program on my PC that will do this.
I have noted however some strange things about itunes in general.
I used a program called prism video converter, recommended to produce great ipod compatible video by a friend, I set it to convetrt about 6 video files, all to the exact same settings, same bitrate/size/etc and they came out fien.
I can even play them in windows mediaplayer no problem.
now, I open itunes and go 'import from folder' and select the folder they are all inside.
    first try: Blue Screen.
Second try I did them one at a time through the add files way.
Wow! Video 01 appeared in itunes and no crash!
So I try adding the next one...
Itunes seemed to freeze a bit on doing this, maybe cos the video is a bit longer (only 3 minutes though) and then it displayed no change!
the first video was still there but it had not added the second.
I tried again with the second video.
    Nothing appeared.
Why would this happen if the videos are technically the same??!
    So I tried video 3.
    It appeared in itunes!!
    I tried video 4...
    Blue Screen!
The worst of it is that usually, whatever I try I will get itunes throwing my PC into a blue screen error whenever I am dealing with these m4v, mp4 or mov (or any other apple video file!) and trying to put them into itunes.
I am so sick of this problem and I would not usually come and ask like this as I pride myself on using google etc and fixing my own PC problems but this one is just a bit too much asd there is no apparent logic to it and nothing I try gets me any closer to a solution!

    **** there.
Let me first make this really clear: It is most definitely nothing to do with the Prism Software. I know this as I have tried converting with many programs before this but usually just got a bluescreen whatever I tried, as soon as I tried to import a video file into itunes.
the thing about prism is that this seems to be the only time I have actually managed to succeed in importing a video file into itunes! So if anything it is faring better than anything else!!
I am usually really good with video on a PC. I have created and encoded and converted so many in the past that I am usually able to work it out if there's maybe a compatibility issue or a codec issue. This time ... nope!
I do think it may be related to some codec or the way XP is handling these itunes compatible video files. They seem to just cause errors.
Ironic: I just dragged and dropped one of the video file sinto a quicktime window and I got a bluescreen.(Thank god for firefox session manager, saving what I had typed so far).
Anyway the result is that these files are also able to throw the same blue screen if I drag them into firefox.
I have converted to ipod format from many apps and, whatever app I use, whatever bitrate I use, if it is a file format as described above (Ie. the type it has to be to play in itunes/ipod) then it will/can/usually does give this blue screen!
Please be clear though: Prism has nothing to do with it. Also, I am confused what the criteria is for itunes to accept video files anyway...why is it that it will accept some and not others that are in essence, exactly the same?
    Any help is greatly appreciated

  • Video Hardware Error Blue Screen

This started about a week ago, first day was July 23 when I first got the problem. I logged out of WoW and my computer blue screened saying a Video Hardware Error. I have had the error come up several times but without a blue screen of death but now again just maybe 15 minutes prior to me posting this I got the blue screen of death again when I log out of WoW. I don't know if it happens with other games, I don't play much else at the moment on the computer, I usually play other games from my consoles so I will try others on this comp over the next few days or so and see what happens but I have had this computer for 3-4 months now, I have had Windows Vista Ultimate x64 installed right since day 1 as well and I have not had this problem until recently and I don't know why. I can't update my video drivers as Nvidia says it won't allow me to update it can only be updated through my laptops manufacturer. I have a MacBook Pro 2.5Ghz, 4GB ram, 512MB GeForce 8600M. Why is this all of a sudden happening? The problem reports show for the 2 BSOD's shut down unexpectidely with:

check if there is any upgraded driver version available. If you have the latest version, report to Sony. There is nothing you can do to fix a driver crash.
Is there any reason you are not using DirectShow? VFW was made for 16 bit Windows and you got a device that supports WDM, there is no real need to go through the VFW-to-WDM mapper which is for supporting existing VFW applications only.

  • Macbook will not boot. Locked hard drive. Blue screen when booting

Hi, my little brother decided he wanted a few files off of my mac book, so he went to settings>sharing>file sharing and added my only hard drive to the list and tried removing everyone but his name and password thinking it would only effect people trying to log into my hard drive, not actually me on my computer alone trying to boot mac osx from it.
He came crying to me telling me he paniced because he saw a locked icon on my hard drive and couldn't do anything, so tried to restart the macbook and now i just get a blue screen and nothing happens when i try booting it.
Right now i'm thinking i gotta archive and reinstall from booting the osx disk, but i'm affraid it'll just apply the same settings again and keep me locked out. I need files off of my hard drive since i'm in school and have several assignments that i have not backed up at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

after searching the forums deeper i found the solution. it's now working. you may delete this thread.
