T440p [20AN] TrackPoint cursor jumps to upper right and closes programs

I have a new T440p [20AN] running Windows 7 pro sp1 64 Bit
The TrackPoint cursor randomly jumps to upper right corner of the screen and closes programs.
I have updated the Bios to LENOVO GLET69WW (2.23 ), 4/25/2014. I have updated the UltraNav driver to version 18.0.7.40.
The problem occurs with all trackpoint/touchpad settings that I've tried including the default settings. Currently I have disable the touchpad functionality and set it to use "Classic TrackPoint Mode Only" and have disabled Gestures and the jumpy cursor still happens (see screen shot).
Is this a hardware issue or is there some other fix?

I saw this issue years before on my R61
cursor will move to the top of my screen automatically.
A workaround is just leave it for 20s, then it comes back.

I have to admit I am baffled. I understand and have seen the issue happen on laptops before, but for the issue to be happening on a desktop strange. I can even understand a wireless mouse, however yours is wired.
Microsoft has a tool called Mr Fix it. It scans the problem area and attempts to fix whatever is wrong. It's worth the shot in this case to see if it helps resolve the mouse issue.

How do I keep iMessage from going to the upper right and out of sight?

Imessage in Mavericks at random, on sleep, and when minimized, goes to upper right on the screen and I cant get it back. Even Mission control can not access it. I have close iMessage and restart. How do I keep it from going to the upper right and out of sight?

I think a Screen Shot will help.
Use the CMD+shift+4 and then decribe around the area when you see the cross hairs.
To Post here use the Camera icon in the reply screen and then select/navigate to the Screen Shot (normally on your Desktop) and select it.
Then use the Insert Image button.
I don't use Sleep so I can't speak to that.
Minimise should put it in the DOCK.
Do you mean coming out of Minimise ?
Actually where is your DOCK (mine is at the bottom and I nearly forgot other people have it in different places)
If it is on the right is the Finder icon top of the icons ?
If the windows of an App are minimised then it does not appear in Mission Control (some of this is mixed with normal behaviour).

When I close Firefox (3.6.10) by using the x in upper right and then try to start it later, I get message FF is running, you must close first..which I thought I did. Cannot start without using Windows Task Manager and closing process. What is wrong?

See original question. Firefox apparently doesn't close when using the x in upper right corner as when I try to start it again I get a message that FF is already running and I must close it first. I thought the x would do that. Is something set wrong or corrupted?

Satellite P300: cursor jumps to different positions while typing

Hi All,
i have a Satellite P300,
I am having trouble when i type.
When i am typing using the keyboard, the first couple of words are ok, but then the words start typing in the wrong place, eg back further into the middle of the sentence i am typing.

While typing the cursor jumped to different positions and I was not able to finish one sentence.
I though there could be something wrong with the keyboard but finally I have notices that I have touched the touchpad surface accidentally while typing ?.
I have disabled the touchpad using the Fn+F9 and the issues has gone

When I begin typing in the upper right search box, after a few letters are typed, a menu drops down with choices. When I click on a choice it doesn't appear in the search box and I have to type everything myself.

When I use the search box on the upper right and begin to type a word/words when the menu of possible choices appears and I click on the one I want, nothing happens. It doesn't automatically put it into the box like it used to and I have to type everything out.

Didn't work for me. Got the drop-down but still won't transfer to Google box.

Cursor jumps

Sometimes when I'm typing on a message board on the web my cursor jumps around, deleting text and/or moving it to another location without me touching anything other than the keys I'm typing. I have no idea why this happens sometimes and not others, but when it does happen, it happens frequently - every few words! Please help

Mouse jumps upper right corner clicking

Around July 15th my mouse started to jump to the upper right corner and performing a click. I think its something to do with synaptics .I've read lots of old tricks to fix it but it may work few hours then comes back. Such as changing mouse options. Uninstalling synaptic works the longest then comes back in 5 to 8 hours later. Anyone can help?

LinuxWacom - Cursor jumps to right (Dual Screen) (SOLVED)

I have this problem. I have been at it for some time now and haven't found a solution.
I have a Wacom Cintiq 21UX2. Problem is that when I draw on it, the cursor constantly jumps to the right for short moments. This makes it impossible to draw and hard to click buttons.
I don't have this problem in Opensuse or in Mint, just in Arch-Linux.
I installed the "wacom-drivers" (0.11.1-2) package and the "kcm-wacomtablet-git" (20110517-1) from AUR at the moment. I tried several combinations, but nothing seams to solve the problem.
I cant find a solution via Google either.
I don't know what to do anymore. Anybody got a solution or idea?

Hi. It's been a while, but I finaly solved it.
On the wacomlinux site I found that it was a problem in xorg-server. I installed a newer version from AUR. That solved the problem. I had to reïnstall the nvidia driver to. I did the one from AUR, but maybe the binary version was sufficiant. Not shure about that.
My Arch-system is usable to me again.

I thought it was current when using the git-version. Isn't the git version updated automaticly? I also used the git version strait from the site, on different distro's. Every time I used a up-to-date distro I would have this problem. Then I found this solution on the site from linuxwacom.

Trackpad click makes cursor jump right. How to fix?

When clicking on my trackpad (newish Macbook Pro) the cursor jumps right about 1cm. It can take bookmarks with it for example, drasgging them out of the tool bar, or just fail to action the clicked link. The second click is fine. To clarify, the first click either jumps right, away from target click area, or takes an item with it. I have been using a Mac since 1984 so I know how to click!!! This characteristic is irritating. Please read this whole message before doing anything. This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it. Step 1 The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.” While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin. Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)? If you have another pointing device installed, remember that the Mac uses "all sources live". You can literally use two or more mice or two or more keyboards at once.
Your trackpad, if that is what you are using, must be very clean. Any debris may be seen as another "finger".

Spry Menu Bar jumps off screen-right in CS6

Frustrating little glitch I'm experiencing. When in a NON-LIVE mode in CS6, I have a Spry Menu Bar that I've placed, customized and is functioning properly. It is precisely in the right location in BOTH live mode and in a browser preview, however, when I am editing the site the menu bar jumps off screen right to where I have to scroll right to locate it. The only thing that pops it back in to place is by tweaking a setting like "Float" from right to left then back to right. But once I begin to edit the site again it will jump off the screen. This isn't a massive deal since it remains in place in live and preview modes, it's just annoying for layout purposes while I'm editing. It sort of screws up the aesthetic of the layout. Has anyone found the same problem? Below is my layout.css and my Spry Menu css.

Design view is not reliable. Learn to work in Code View or Split View with Live View to check your layout.
Spry menus are not responsive so they will not work well in a Fluid Grid Layout. Find a better menu system.

When I open an email, my computer won't go to the link listed, or when I am doing research the same thing, then I see a ALLOW in the upper right hand corner of the screen and I have to click on that. What happened and how do I fix this?

Somehow my settings have changed. When I open an email and there is a link, my computer won't allow it, also when I am doing a search, my computer won't allow certain links to open.
What I see is "ALLOW" in the upper right hand corner of the screen, and I have to click on that in order to continue my email or do a search. How did this suddenly happen and how do I change it back to being able to roam the Internet without having to click on ALLOW all the time?
Also, I set up Google as my home page, but it won't list Email or any other options. I have to type in Google in the Google box, then Email appears. How do I get the right Google set up as my home page so I can access Email without jumping through hoops.

I have a Macbook Pro (2009) and the tool bar in Safari keeps disappearing. There's a small diagonal arrow on the upper right that I can click and the bar will appear temporarily, but then it disappears from view. "Hide Toolbar" is greyed out in VIEW

My 2009 Macbook Pro's Safari doesn't show the tool bar anymore. I can click on a diagonal arrow in the upper right corner that appears when I put my cursor there and the tool bar will show, but then it disappears again. Also, when I get an email and click on an internet link the Safari doesn't open full page like it used to - it opens as a small little box and I have to click the diagonal arrow in upper right corner for it to open full screen. Any ideas how to correct this - it is so annoying. Thanks for any help!

Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.

Running 10.9.2, out of the blue I can no longer minimize e-mails in Mac mail program. I have to put the cursor on the upper edge of the screen to show the tool bar that allows me to scroll down to quit mail to get out the of the program.

Recently my mail program has changed itself and I can no longer see the red, yellow and green dots allowing me to close minimize and enlarge. To get out of mail I have to put the cursor on the top edge of the toolbar expanding to another toolbar that will allow me to quit mail. This is a real pain right where my mother never kissed me. How do I get the dots back?

Move the mouse to the far upper right corner of the screen. You should see a blue box with two arrows pointing inwards. Click that blue icon. Sounds like you put the Application into whats called Fullscreen Mode.
