T440s display question / Intel HD Graphics family

I bought T440s (windows 7 pro) with FHD WWAN screen and I am noticing that my older T430s (windows 8 pro) has a clearer and brighter display. Both have the same Intel controler (Intel Graphics 4400). Screen colors on T440s are warmer (yellowish) than on T430s which has whiter and more appealing/cleaner display/colors.
T430s explicitely shows Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400 in the device manager while the new T440s shows Intel(R) HD Graphics family only. There is no reference to to 4400 although my order information shows Intel 4400.
Could someone please clarify how this display difference is possible. Should I check with tech support if I received a less quality hardware on my T440s.
Many Thanks!

Go into BIOS by pressing F1 at the ThinkPad POST screen > Config > Display. You should see a switchable graphics option here. Make sure it is set to Optimus.

  • Intel HD graphics family deactivated blackscreen

    Hello,
I deactivated my onboard Intel HD graphic card. and since that i have a blackscreen. and cant do anything.
Now my question, is it possible to activate my Intel HD card to get my laptop back to work?

    Hi
Im wondering how you were able to do that
How did you disable the graphic card?
Did you test the key combination FN + F5 which switches between the displays (internal and external) ?
You could also try to boot the Advanced boot menu by pressing F8 at the beginning the booting procedure.
Now you can choose use the last good working configuration.
PS: What notebook model do you have and what system do you use?

  • Satellite C660 - Intel HD graphic family - OpenGL 3.1 support

I'm trying to make my Satellite C660 (PSC1LE) compatible with OpenGL 3.1, but am having trouble downloading the right drivers. The latest update was in 2011.

The OpenGL is part of the Intel graphic driver which can be downloaded from Intel driver website.
First of all you have to check what Intel HD graphic card this notebook/CPU supports.
Then you could download the Intel driver from Intel website (choose zip package)
After that you have to unzip the package and should install the driver within the device manager. In device manager choose the Advanced installation procedure. This allows you to choose the driver files which are located in the downloaded Intel driver folder.

  • HP Zbook dual monitors issue - Intel HD Graphics Family ! in Device Manager

I have upgraded to Windows 10 x64 last week and I was using dual monitors. I discovered one of the monitor has stopped working and when I chekced in the device manager, one of the 2 display adaptors has got an exclaimation mark beside it and says: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) I have tried uninstall and installing it to no avail. Anyone has the same issue? Is this a driver issue?   Thank you.

    it's as below: 17th July 2015 10.18.15.4256:

  • Mobile PC display instead of Intel HD graphics 4000 ??

    Hello
    I have Lenovo G580 notebook
Win 7 Ultimate x32 .. I install display driver (Intel HD graphics 4000)
but when I go to screen resolution it is show (Mobile PC Display)
while on the device manager / display adapter it is (Intel HD graphics 4000)
How I can use (Intel HD graphics 4000) as a display adapter ?
    Thank you

It's normal, Mobile PC Display means that it's connected to your laptop's LCD, while the other selection available for external monitors.
If you only have one display adapter(Intel HD4000) it will always use that display adapter.
If you have optimus(integrated intel vga+dedicated nvidia vga) you can change the Prefered graphic processor from nvidia control panel's global settings.
For external monitors, i'm not sure whether the external monitor port(hdmi/vga port) can be connected to the dedicated vga or not, it's probably connected to the intel vga also.
May be someone else can confirm this, as i've seen many people were having difficulties trying to use the geforce vga through HDMI (they can only gets the intel vga through hdmi) in most lenovo's optimus-based laptops.

  • Code 43 error after updating Intel HD graphics video card

    Hello.
My HP Pavilion G6 laptop consists of 2 graphics cards:   1- Intel HD Graphics Family
                                                                                                              2- Radeon HD 6470M
I opened my device manager today, and i tried to update my Intel HD Graphics . Turns out there was an update for it, and after it was done, it displayed Intel HD Graphics 3000. That was after i rebooted my computer.
After the reboot, my Intel card updated. However I re opened the device manager, and i see that the Radeon HD 6470M has an exclamation mark on it. I opened the properties and i see a message saying: Windows has stopped this device because it reported issues(Code 43) . This occured after i updated my Intel card.
I fixed it with system restore. But can someone tell me why this happened? The HP Support Assistan said that there is no updates available, so the device manager should determine that the Intel card is up to date.
    Any help? Thanks.

Don't know what driver you have installed but the latest version is 8.882.2.0 Rev. released Jan 14, 2015
You may get this driver from here should you wish.
    http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-g6-Notebook-PC-series/5145704/model/5170...
Instead of using system restore you may right click the driver in Device Manager and Roll back the driver, makes it easier for you.

  • T440s cannot install Intel WiDi

I am trying to install Intel WiDi so I can use wireless display mirroring.
    My machine is a T440s (model 20AQ005QUS) running Windows 8.1 64-bit.
The WiDi software is available in the downloads area for my machine (from this, I take it that T440s is considered a supported system)
    http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t44...
However, when I run the installer, I am told my platform is not compatible with Intel WiDi (screenshot attached)
The link in the image goes to this page: http://www.intel.com/support/go/wireless/widirequirements.htm
According to the readme on Lenovo's download page ( http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/giw623ww.txt ), the hardware/software requirements are as follows:
    For Windows 8.1,
    - Intel Wireless LAN adapter card and driver, version 17.1.5 or higher for:
    Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260
    Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-N 7260
    Intel(R) Wireless-N 7260
    Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265
    Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7265
    Intel Wireless-N 7265
    - Intel HD Graphics Family driver version 15.36.2.64.3871 or later.
    - Intel Management Engine Components 9.5.20.11742/9.0.30.1482/10.0.26.1000 or higher
    - Intel 5,6,7 Series Chipset.
    - Intel Core Processor i3/i5/i7
    - I do have Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 with driver version 17.13.11.5
    - I do have Intel HD Graphics but the driver version is only 10.18.10.3958 (so this may be the problem)
    - I have made sure the latest Intel Management Engine components is installed (10.0.38.1036)
    - I don't know what Intel Series Chipset I have. Can someone advise me on how to confirm?
    - I have an Intel Core i5 Processor
It seems the problem may that the HD graphics driver version is inadequate. But the version I have installed (10.18.10.3958) is the latest version available from the T440s downloads page
    http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t44...
    What am I to do?
Why aren't Lenovo providing the necessary driver version?
Is it posible that some other part of my system is incompatible (even though Lenovo list T440s as a supported system)?
    Thanks

I work for a large corporate with over 5000 Lenovo laptops and am currently pushing them to get the latest Intel video driver uploaded so that their WiDi 5.1 package can be installed.
In the mean time you can grab the latest video driver direct from the Intel web site (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/24785/Intel-Iris-and-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-... and install it to to your T440s – overwriting Lenovo’s older Intel HD Video driver.
After doing that, the WiDi driver package from the Lenovo web site will install and function correctly.
In short, the setup process was essentially three steps:
    1. Install the latest Intel Wireless Lan drivers (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x1-...
    2. Install the latest Intel HD Video drivers (*manually override the old Lenovo OEM driver)  (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/24785/Intel-Iris-and-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-...
    3. Install the latest Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) driver (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x1-...
This is obviously not a process I would want to follow for enterprise deployment. Hopefully Lenovo will post the updated Intel HD Video driver package to their Support site for X1 Carbon and T440s customers.
*Note: In order to manually override the outdated video driver you need to follow the 'Have Disk' method for the new driver install.   In other words:
    1. Expand the zip file contents that you downloaded in Step 2 above.
    2. Launch 'Device Manager' > Expand 'Display Adapters' > Right-click 'Intel HD Graphics' and choose 'Update Driver Software'
    3.  Select 'Browse my computer for driver software' and click 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'
    4. Select 'Have Disk'
    5. Select 'Browse' > navigate to the folder where you extracted the download above. Look in the “Graphics” sub-folder and locate the INF file > then click “Open”, followed by “OK” and “Next”
    6. Upon completion of the installation, reboot even if not prompted to. On reboot, you’re done.

  • Photoshop CS6 unable to use due to display driver (Intel) problem

    Hi
I am experiencing problems using Photoshop CS6 (not extended version). I have recently installed Design standard and I'm not having this problem with Illustrator.
Each time I run PS, I receive a pop up with "display driver Intel HD graphics drivers for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully been recovered". PS opens but I cannot use it and I have to force end task in task manager.
I have an Asus Laptop (i7) with Windows 8.1, graphics card Intel HD 4400, it also has an NVIDA Geoforce GT 740M graphic card.
    so far:
I have installed the latest driver from Intel (10.18.10.3345).
I have re-booted in Safe Mode and can open PS - I receive the message "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled enhancements which use the graphics hardware". I can use PS in safe mode. I then re-boot and can use PS normally, however after another re-boot or awakening from sleep the problem reappears.
I have tried switching to 'Basic' or "Normal' in the advanced settings. The problem occurs again.
I connect this laptop by VGA to an external Dell monitor, however it does not just happen when connected to the external.
Any help in resolving this would be very much appreciated!

is uninstalling the graphics card the only fix for this? I'm reluctant to try this, and cause more problems..

  • Intel HD Graphics driver on Yoga 2 Pro fails after Windows 10 upgrade

Yoga 2 Pro. Everything working fine under Windows 8.1. Upgraded to Windows 10 RTM version. Intel HD Graphics device failed, message in Device Manager is "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". Installed the latest Windows 10 driver for Yoga 2 Pro from the Lenovo support site (driver dated 7/15/2015). This did not fix the problem. Interestingly, the first time I installed the driver from the support site (I tried it twice), I received a message stating "I already have a newer version of the driver installed". I chose to overwrite/install anyhow, as this was the supported driver from Lenovo. In addition, the Intel Graphics Control Panel (that installed with the driver) fails to come up as well. Is this a known problem? Is there anything else to try? How do I determine exactly which version of Intel HD Graphics I have (there seems to be many versions listed on Intel web site).

Update:  I've not had stability when using the Windows 8.1 driver on my Yoga 2 Pro running Windows 10.  The Intel HD Graphics Family driver shows "Working Properly" after first reverting back to the Windows 8.1 driver and the Micro-HDMI port works initially.  At some point though, I end up with the device showing disabled and I'm also having Audio issues.   I decided to upgrade the BIOS which went OK (upgraded from Kona BIOS Version 76CN31WW to Version 76CN43WW).  Then I re-installed the Windows 10 Intel HD Graphics Family driver from the Lenovo website (Version 10.18.15.2040 showing a data of 7/15/15 on the website but 6/16//15 once installed).  However, the driver shows disabled as not working properly so I'm not happy. I'll continue to consider purchasing a support option but figure it'll only reap an apology and perhaps some information confirming the problem but I expect paying for support won't result in a working Windows 10 driver any sooner.  I'm not aware how to report a problem like this to Lenovo without paying them to hear about the trouble they're causing me.Let me stop you from wasting your money.  I too had the problem you described.  What I made sure of was that once I installed that 8.1 driver, and in my case, the one dated March 2014, I went into Windows Update and disabled automatic updates.  That is where it kept getting updated for me.  That was a week ago and still have stability using the old driver. Hope this helps.  Intel needs to make a stable Windows 01 driver like yesterday.

  • 3d picture control fail with Intel HD Graphics 4600

I bought a laptop with Intel core i7 with Intel HD 4600 graphics. I'm testing a vi containing a 3D picture control. However when I run the vi, the 3d object that contains the 3d picture control displays a conflict, since the moving object, and this leaves no "clean" screen 3d object made. Any tips?, Thanks.
Pdta: I'm using LV2012 and attached a picture of what that looks

I too am having similar issues with 3d picture control paired with Intel HD Graphics 4000. Has this issue been resolved and what was the fix?
Additional information, my lap top also has a NVIDIA Quadro K3000M card. This display adapter is used when only external monitors are used and not the laptop display. In this configuration my 3d picture control works fine. When I switch to the lap top display the Intel HD Graphics 4000 is used and that is when I see the 3d graphics issue.
I have tried to turn off hardware acceleration and not given any acceleration option as suggested in the previous post.
I have the latest device driver for the Intel HD Graphics 4000.
    I am using LabView 2012
    Thanks for the help.

  • HD Graphics Family??

Hi i just purchased an HP Pavillion dm4- 2015dx and online it says it has an intel hd 3000 graphics card (which i read is very good), but when i look it up the hardware on the computer itself it just says "Intel HD Graphics Family". Is this just like a general name for all intel hd cards or did i get one with a different graphics card for some reason?

You got the Intel HD 3000, which I would say is OK but not great or even very good. It is still "onboard" or integrated graphics, just better than it used to be. You can run a chip identifier from the intel website or dig a bit deeper into the hardware identification to get the plug and play id which will confirm what I am saying.

  • T530 Win 8 64 w Intel HD Graphics 4000 display 'dims'

I have a problem that is similar to others listed in the forums but the listed solutions either don't apply or don't work for me.
    Configuration:
    T530 2394CTO
    Windows 8 64 bit
    Bios G4ET96ww (2.56)
    Issue:
When the screen is largely dark, the display 'dims'. I have a dark desktop image so, for instance, if I minimize active windows, the display dims. The brightness setting is not changing so on the brightness setting it still shows full brightness. When I then switch to a mostly white window it then takes maybe 4 or 5 seconds for the white to change from off-white to bright white. As long as there is significant portion of the built-in screen that is light colored it stays that way. As soon as the majority of the screen is 'dark' it dims again.
It is not the Intel HD Graphics Drivers as suggested here.
If I check the drivers with Lenovo System Update they show as up to date. There is a more recent version on the Intel site but if I try to install it it says my computer does not meet the requirements.
It is not the adaptive brightness settings as suggested here and here.
On my version this setting does not show up in the Intel Graphics and Media control panel but there is a setting in the advanced power plan settings and I have disabled the adaptive brightness there.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Dali99GRT,
I see you have several questions today. I will do my best to help you with them.
The difference between an Integrated and a Dedicated Graphics card are as follows: (information from Top Ten Reviews)
    Integrated
An integrated graphics processing unit (GPU) doesn't use its own RAM; it utilizes the system's memory instead. So, if you have a computer with 4GB of RAM, the video card can use anywhere between one and five percent of the available memory for graphics processing. Of course, this percentage varies depending on the size of the task, especially if you're multitasking or playing a game.
    Dedicated
A dedicated, or discrete, GPU has its own independent source of video memory, leaving the RAM your system uses untouched. If you have a GeForce GTX 680M video card with 2GB of video memory, for example, that memory is completely separate from your computer's 8GB of system memory. Dedicated cards are perfect if you are into serious gaming or are a professional graphic designer.
As for the Approx. Total Memory this is the video memory of your graphics card. Your Intel Graphics card, is an integrated graphics card, that is most likely shared memory. This means some of the video memory is taken from your RAM or system memory. That being said, Windows 8.1 may not use as much of the video Graphics to run as Windows 7 does.
And the detailed information for the External VGA card, I am at a loss. Your best bet is to check out some websites like Amazon or CNET for this. I did find this information on How good are USB video cards? that may help you with your decision making.
I hope this information helps, please let me know.
Thank you and I hope you have a great day!

  • Lenovo B570e Intel HD Graphics - nVidia Display Driver

    Hi Guys
Iv got a small problem, and I'm struggling to get my head around it! Im installing Windows 7 pro 64Bit from scratch. I normally do chipset drivers first, then i move on to the others and finnish of by doing a windows update.
My problem is when i come to install the nVidia Optimus Display Driver the install appears to fail, windows message pops up towards the end and says something like "hasn't installed propley would you like to try reinstall the recommended way"
Am i right in thinking the nVidia Optimus Display Driver should install the intel drivers too?
My Next step was to try install the Intel HD Graphics (Integrated) from the lenovo site, after installing the machine wont boot back into windows. Had to remove the driver package with safemode.
Iv tried all kinds of combinations and driver packages with the same result.
Anyone else come across this, i welcome as much help as possible.
    Many Thanks
    Giles.

  • ThinkStation E30, built-in Intel HD Graphics and 2560x1440 display

I'm setting up a ThinkStation E30 w/ Intel HD Graphics and connecting it to an EIZO CG276 display.
The EIZO display supports 2560x1440 but I'm only able to get 1920x1200 from the built-in graphics (Win7 64bit).
Since the display only shipped with a DVI cable and a DisplayPort-to-mini-DisplayPort cable, I was provided a DisplayPort to DVI adapter by our IT dept.
Is the DP-to-DVI adpater limiting my resolution?
Is the built-in Intel HD Graphics capable of delivering 2560x1440?
If the built-in graphics isn't up to the job, my next question will be compatible graphics cards that deliver...
    * 30bit color (10bits/channel).
    * 2560x1440
    * At least 2 x DisplayPort ports.
    Thanks,
    Terry

The MacBook Air is also power a much lower-resloution panel for its own display, so more of the GPU power can go towards an external display. The 15" Retina MacBook Pro is powering four times as many pixels as an Air.

Remove all video drivers including your NVIDIA. Disconnect from internet.Get the appropriet driver for your Intel HD from here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ Install it and restart, then try installing the NVIDIA one. If you face any problem, it's with the NVIDIA driver.
