T450s Audio Problems (Dolby Digital Plus)

Try Dolby Digital Plus off.
I do this routinely because I don't like the artificial sound, and it can add noise when boosting levels.
Hope that helps,
John

  • G510 Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio doesnt work driver problem with Windows 8.1

    Hi,
    my Lenovo G510 has Windows 8.1 64-bit.
In the system menue of Hardware and Sound I can see two entries:
    1) Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio
    2) Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio (32-bit)
Clicking on the first entry a control panel appears. Does this mean that Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio is always running in the backround? There is no entry in the systray.
Clicking on the second entry this error message appears:
Your current installed version is 7.3.2.2 of the Dolby Digital Plus audio driver. The software needs the driver version 7.5.1.1. Installe a correct combination of driver and software.
What to do with this? I searched for a solution and drivers but couldn´t find anything.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Zoori,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that “Dolby Digital plus Advanced Audio” is not working as expected in your G510 Laptop and displaying an error message to install the upgraded version of the Dolby driver in the computer, below are the troubleshooting steps to check and resolve this issue.
Open Device Manager. (Right-click on the Start button and choose Device Manager).
Expand the Sound, Video and Games Controllers section.Right Click on the Conexant Smart Audio HD item and choose Uninstall.
Still in Device Manager, click on Action>Scan for new Hardware.
The Conexant Smart Audio item will re-appear.Right-Click on it and choose update driver.Navigate to d:\drivers\audio.When that's done, close Device Manager.Open File Manager and navigate to D:\drivers\Audio\DolbyGUI and install Dolby Digital plus Advanced Audio.
That should get rid of the error message and this version of Dolby Digital plus Advanced Audio should be working as expected.
Do post us back if the issue persists.
    Best Regards

  • Need Dolby Digital Plus audio driver for C560

My volume kept going up and down regardless of the program, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the Reaktek audio driver. Now I keep getting "Unable to start the Dolby Digital Plus audio driver. Please restart the computer or reinstall the driver if the problem persists." It's no longer in the device manager, so I can't update it through that. (The volume problem was fixed, however.) I've looked for the driver here, but only find them for other machines or tablets. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

I'm hesitant to refresh my system and lose all that data. I'd rather live without Dolby.
It seems to me the easiest solution would have been for Lenovo to simply give me access to the driver. As it stands now, I've uninstalled Dolby because it seemed my computer startup was delayed while Windows looked for the driver.

  • Dolby Home Theater V4 changed to Dolby Digital Plus after Realtek Audio Driver update Windows 8.1

Hi,I'm now using Ideapad Z510. After upgraded to Windows 8.1. I'd went to the Lenovo website searching for new driver update.
But, after i install the "Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.7023", the "Dolby Home Theater V4" is not running(audio sound not playing through). And, the "Dolby Digital Plus" is running instead of "Dolby Home Theater V4".
Then, when I try to reinstall the older version "Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.6954" from Lenovo website, the "Dolby Home Theater V4" is running again.
Truly, the "Dolby Digital Plus"'s sound is crisper and louder than "Dolby Home Theater V4". But the sound of "Dolby Home Theater V4" has more bass and more function (like Graphic Equalizer, more Intelligent Equalizer etc.).
Is this an update or what?
What should I choose? The newer driver (for Windows 8.1) or older driver (for Dolby Home Theater V4)?  Thanks. (confused now) @@

    Hi all
Could you try out DAA or DHTLightweight from my link and just install the Dolby software without overriding your Realtek Driver? I am not sure whether would it work, but worth a try. I have tried on Y460, W520 and G560 with great experience.
If the older Dolby software does not work with your existing Realtek driver, you could install the DAA or DHTLightweight with their driver to overwrite and see how it goes.
    Thank You

  • Dolby Digital Plus switching to Dolby Digital

    Hi All,
I watched my first recorded movie the other day and witnessed something rather odd and annoying.  The sound kept cutting out.  At first I thought there was something funny about the connections but, it only happened whilst watching the recorded movie (Day and Knight).  I have everything plugged into my AV Receiver an Onkyo TX-NR515.  Whilst watching the movie through the TV audio there was not as much noticible audio dropout but you could tell there was something happening to the audio nonetheless.  Because it didn't happen all the time it was a little hard to find out what was going on.
Then I spotted it, the audio in the recorded movie kept switching between dolby digital plus and dolby digital, thus my receiver was also trying to switch, but because it was happening so quickly the reciever simply lost the audio, hence the sound cutting out.
Anyone know why this is and how I can fix it, never had this problem whilst watching live movies or tv shows.
    Thanks
    Craig

  • Z50 - Dolby Digital Plus

I am a new owner and haven't used this specific software version but hav on previous machines. The problem is that it makes no difference in audio quality whether the equalizer is on or off. chaning modes does nothing. I should be seeing the EQ bars move to the audio but they don't. Tried Youtube via Chrome, Spotify desktop app, Windows Media Player to no success. What am I doing wrong here?

Hey, so I had the same problem as all of you and I found this thread looking for a solution. I got it working again now and I thought I'd share how. Btw I'm from germany, so I might not always get the termonoly right. Oh and I'm far from an expert. I just tried out different things and got lucky with this one. I also have the Z50-70.So in the end I just uninstalled the Conexant audio driver in the device-manager and then, after a re-start, let it look for the new version and installed that. After restarting the PC again Dolby Digital Plus worked. But before I did that I tried a couple of other things and I have no idea if they where necessary or not. Just in case I'm going to share everything I did, but I warn you it was a bit messy. So first of Dolby Digital Plus didn't appear at all when I searched for it in the new Windows search panel. But it did show up in the list of all programs so I tried to use the repair function there. There I got a message saying that the file 'dolbydigitalplusht' couldn't be accessed or wasn't there anymore or something like that. So I looked for this file in the normal search panel in the folder structur. I found four files there. I tried them all and one worked and I used it to run the repair function. I think it actually downloaded a driver at that point, but I'm not completly sure. Now  Dolby Digital Plus showed up in the new windows search panel, but when I started it I got this message:"The current Dolby Digital Plus audio driver version is 7.6.3.1 and the software app expects driver version 7.5.1.1.  Please install a valid driver and software application combination."That's when I uninstalled and reinstalled the Conexant audio driver and suddenly it worked again. So again I have no idea if this will work for any of you, but I hope it helps.

Hello, since nobdy else has replied...
    Long shot, but...
Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there.

  • Dolby Digital Plus Application Equalizer not working

Having Lenovo G50 Series notebook with dolby digital plus audio software.  Application fails to perform if we select manual settings for graphic equalizer when in custom mode 1 or 2. if we scrolls one or other strip upwards,as soon as i release mouse hold, it drops down.. y is it so., Pic attached

It is literally THE worst interface I've ever come across. Basically, you have to have audio playing before the bars 'come alive'. Then it'll register your input. You can pause the audio and the bars will stay alive for a few seconds so you can change the setting without them bouncing around like crazy. However, even then, changing a bar with no music playing still jumps it up and down for no good reason. Such an aweful UI.It's like some kid stumbled onto an algoritim to react to user input for the first time and thought, "Oh dat looks sick yo, lemme turn it up to 10". If you're lucky and can revert to Dolby Home Theater V4 (the older version), then that interface has proper controls.

    hi sahilnair,
    I see now.
The Audio Driver you have is lower that's why you need a lower versioni of the Dolby because it should be in sync.
Try this Uninstall the Audio driver first from Device Manager, be sure to do it this way
       1. Under Device manager, Open sound and gaming controllers, now right click on your audio device (realtek)
Select uninstall, A pop up should appear asking to delete driver software, Be sure to place a check on the box.
       2. Restart the system and it should be back under device manager, Repeat step one and do this again until you only see High defitnition Audio under Device Manager, This indicates that you are running in a Generic Audio driver.
       3. Now to reinstall a synced Audio and Dolby driver.
    Download this driver
Realtek Audio Driver for 64-bit Windows
And this time install this all the way thru.
    restart the computer installation.
Now Open the Path that it gave you earlier, ex. C:/drivers/Realtek
Look inside that realtek folder and look for a folder named Dolby or DolbyGUI
inside that folder you will find installation files
         Dolby Advanced audio
         Dolby Theater
         Dolby digital plus
Install the one that came with your system and you should have it back
    Let me know your findings
    Cheers!

  • Aspire V3-572 dolby digital plus stopped working

Description of the issue: Dolby digital plus is no longer working as it used to.  Description of actions:I had two chrome windows open, and I was watching a show in one. I paused it to watch something in the other window, and when I went back to the show, the sound was back to the low quality heard when dolby isn't on. I pulled up dolby, and saw it was on. However, the equalizer scales weren't moving to the audio, and the sound quality was still poor. Upon further listening, there is a minute change when dolby is turned on, but it's not the incredible difference I'd been experiencing earlier.   What I've done to muddle through the issue:-Restarted the PC, hoping the switch between browser windows had confused dolby. No luck there.-Checked Windows update to see if a driver or update had gone through recently-nothing.-Looked at the the drivers. Seems there's only one speaker driver, RealTek High Definition Audio, ver. 6.0.1.7300. It dates back to July, which I'm assuming is when the laptop was packaged. Weirdly, that's also the latest update from Acer, though Acer lists it as being updated November. Muh laptop:Aspire V3-572-51TR, purchased a month ago, most non-critical Windows updates ignored, not much else done to it. Edit: Now it's working on some things but not others.

Hi... It seems to be something with the audio driver. The dolby software is included in the factory shipped audio driver. In order t o fix this issue, you may try reinstalling the audio driver on the laptop. Here are the steps: Press and hold the Windows key and then press the C key to open Charms.Click on Search and type "Recovery".Click on 'Acer Recovery Management'.Select Reinstall Drivers or Applications.Select Content and choose the audio codec and proceed to install it. In case you are unable to install this driver, you may go to Device Manager and open "Audio, video and game controllers" and uninstall the current audio driver. Then follow the above steps to install the audio driver. It will work..

  • Dolby Home Theater/Dolby Digital Plus not working

Update: Issue gone today. Dolby working properly. Still using same drivers. (Win 10 64-bit). How? I don't even know. edit: I think turning off "Hey Cortana" fixed it for me.

    MattSharp ha escrito:
Dolby Digital Plus has miraculously started working, though it looks very different to the last time I used it (it used to be a lot smaller and said Home Theater rather than Digital Plus) but its better than nothing.Hi, DDP is not DHT, dolby provides a separate software for each and thats why it does not look the same.I read on the net that DDP was not as good as DHT, but I don't know... Anyway I´m on a V5-552G and I have had these problems before with a clean install of 8.1 and again this week with the upgrade to W10. Let me tell you what worked for me but before we begin just let me say that Dolby Home Theater has always given me problems and will sometimes just turn off and other times the icon in the taskbar would go away or just not respond. I´m hoping it's more consistant on W10 though I dont see why it would be. The only driver that ever worked properly with Dolby was the driver for windows 8 (not 8.1). the new driver on the Acer site for winodws 10 did not work either. So the one I´m using and I´m listening music to with DHT while writing this is: Audio_Realtek_6.0.1.6878_W8x64_A To get dolby to work: 1. Uninstall the current driver, and any software related to it (the dolby software) 2. restart 3. Install the driver for windows 8 (in my case it never installs dolby automatically, I´ll explain how to do it manually below) 4. Restart twice (yes, I always had to restart twice after the install otherwise manually installing dolby would not work and I got an error when trying to run the install) 5. In the driver folders you downloaded and unzipped go to the folder "PCEE4" and run "DolbyHomeTheater.msi" 6.If you dont get the "Install PCEE" error, restart and you should be able to enjoy dolby (when its not acting up). If you get the error then you may have not followed the instructions properly. Go back to step 1 Good luck guys

  • Audio lag (dolby digital) and reciev

I'm noticing a very brief lag in the audio for my Audigy 2 Platinum Pro, and I'm just wondering, is this to be expected in all recievers? When I say recievers, I mean devices like the Platinum Pro and external recievers used in home theater systems. Do all Dolby Digital decoders have some sort of delay in any circumstance?

Well, in particular the problem that I have is related to playing the XBox with the optical audio support. But since the audio is streamed and there is no way really of 'preloading' a sound, it takes a second, for example, for the audio to kick in when I shoot a gun. My question is, is this to be expected on ALL home theater systems?
