T4xx/T5xx/X2xx CPU whining problem survey *DRAFT*

Hey guys,
First of all, I'm not affiliated with Lenovo.  Then, ff you don't know the 'whining problem', please read this thread and the links in the posts:

I'm using X201 i5-560M CPU and is also suffering the whining problem.  Personally I'm specially sensitive to the high frequency noise and the whining makes me mad.
There has been a lot of discussion online (again, links in the thread above), yet it seems that Lenovo is not willing to acknowledge this issue as a "problem".  At this point, I'm desperate about the willingness of Lenovo or Intel to provide a hardware solution.  And yes I'm a Chinese but I feel shame on Lenovo.
What I'm thinking is to conduct a massive, scientific (hopefully) survey about this problem.  I'm hoping that by analyzing the data, we can get an clearer idea that under what circumstances the whining will occur and how to minimize/eliminate it in balance with the battery life.
According to my understanding and some searching, despite the fact that it's the hardware that creating the noise, surprisingly this problem is partially related with Adobe Flash and the way how our browsers run them.  The survey below is designed to confirm (or falsify...) this proposal.
**Please note** that this is just a DRAFT of the survey and what I'm expecting is your input on HOW TO IMPROVE THIS SURVEY other than giving me your answers.  The formal survey will be posted on this forum later this month if I get positive response from you.

3. Whining
 3.1 Are you experienced the whining at this moment? If yes, is it continuous or intermittent.  Is it still whining when there is no hard drive activity (Hard drive light blinking for HD busy).
 3.2 You wireless network status (ON/OFF status of Wireless LAN, bluetooth, WiMAX(?), etc.)
 3.3 Are you running on battery or AC adapter
 3.3 Software status, please provide the answers as specific as possible, especially pleases indicate whether it's a 32bit or a 64bit
 3.3.1 What is the operating system you are using
 3.3.2 What programs are you running in the front stage (please also include programs like your antivirus software, which is running, but only has an icon displaying at the bottom right region of the screen)

hougj, welcome to the forum,
please allow me to ask the question about your motives for this survey. What are your motives?
CPU whine is not necessarily a specific Lenovo "problem", as you seem to state in your post. It is also something experienced with other manufacturers' sysems. The discussion about CPU whine started, I believe and stand to be corrected, in 2007 when C2D CPUs first came onto the market. Googling CPU whine will bring a plethora of results on this.
I also have absolutely no affiliation to Lenovo, just here to help where I can.
