T500 and Sim Card

Hi Community,
Since last week, I got a T500 as my new company Notebook.
I noticed, that it has an internal HSPA Modem.
The first I did was to update the drivers and Lenovo Software. Now the Ericson driver Version is 4.50.6.0
As I try to establish a connection, it tells me "No Sim Card found". I tested it with my "3" UMTS Card and with a "Vodafone" Card from my colleague.
Hotline said there is no Sim Lock but no more Help from Helpdesk
Is there somebody in the community that has an idea?
greetings Christoph

  • I lost my iPhone 5 and i wanted to know if i am able to track it down if its connected to a matcbook or any other compare without wifi and sim card?

i lost my iphone 5 and i wanted to know if i am able to track it down if its connected to a macbook or any type of computer without wifi and sim card? i have a lock on it but i still want to know if they try to reboot it will i be able to find out theyre doing it?

If you went into Find My iPhone and sent a lost request, or you tried a remote wipe, if the device was off line, then you would receive something if it was to go online. Did you have a passcode on the device? Did you have iOS 7 installed on it? If so, then even if they try to restore the phone, they will not be able to activate it because of Activation lock. Only certain things will get you a notification, and if they cannot get into the phone, you will not receive that. Without your Apple ID and password, the phone is useless to them if they try to restore it.

I need to buy another usb, pcmcia or mini pci-e wireless card.
Can you recommend one that works well? Because I never work with wifi cards on linux.
    sorry my poor english
EDIT 21/07/09: add more information (thinkwiki):
    http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/ThinkPad_ … Adapter_II
    EDIT 22/10/09:
Finally came the expected driver, I think it's premature but it works perfectly.
    Here the driver (r8192se_pci):
    32bits: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/33927923/ … 009.tar.gz
    64bits: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34090326/ … bit.tar.gz
untar; make; make install; reboot and enjoy it
    I test it with:
    netcfg
    standar commands:
    ifconfig wlan0 up
    iwlist wlan0 scan
    iwconfig wlan0 essid MySsid
    wpa_supplicant -B -Dwext -i wlan0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
    dhcpcd wlan0
The first time I compile the module, function correctly, but after scan for available networks I haven't any results.
    Recompile and everything worked again
[b]I edit the wiki, pleased read it and help me because my English is a bit basic.
    thanks

Please note that the T500 has different hardware configurations.
Other options in wireless card (for the T500): intel 5100 - intel 5300.
This models work fine under linux

  • Address book and Sim Card

Is there a way to completely delete all contacts from my sim card?  Also, how can I add my phone numbers from my address book to the sim card all at once instead of one by one?

    Hi,
SIM Card Contacts can only be deleetd one by one.
Address book entries cannot be copied to the SIM Card except by manually adding them.
The SIM Card has 99 entries MAX, with space for a single 10 digit number and (approx) 10 character name.
The blackberry has Home, Work, Mobile, fax numbers, email addresses, names, pictures, addresses and HEAPS of other details
There simply isnt the space to copy the data across and rather than allow you to copy  name and mobile only (and Loose all the other details) it doesnt allow you to do anything like that.
You KNOW that if they gave people the option they would blame RIM saying :"I thought it would copy EVERYTHING including the pictures to the SIM Card and still allow me to use it in another phone, etc, blah, blah, blah....."

  • HP 6910p laptop with Matshita ujda775 dvd drive and SIM Card slot

    Hello everyone ,
I have an HP Compaq 6910p with Windows 7 ultimate 32bit installed, the laptop has Matshita ujda775 DVD Drive,
After a search about its specifications I found on ehow - Matshita UJDA775 Specifications that it can write to CDs  but when I try it says "Blank CD/DVD not detected " .
how can I do it, If it is true that it can write to CDs?
Another question is how to use the SIM card slot in my laptop to connect to the internet?
    Thank you.

Yes it should burn CDs. Try the fix linked in this prior thread:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-e-g-Windows-8/Optical-Drive-Will-Not-Burn/m-p/2795995...
The SIM card slot takes a WAN card that must be registered on a network like Verizon or Sprint and will give you access like a smartphone. There is a monthly charge involved.

  • What is default contents of smartcard and SIM cards

    hello
plz tell me what is the default data on smartcards.(smartcard unique number and whatelse..)
what is the difference between SIM card and SmartCards other than physical size.
what is the default data we find on SIM cards.
    thanks in advance

    hi,
To answer the first question, what kind of smart card you are talking about ?
A credit card, a SIM card, a SAM card, a ID card, a cash card ?
Smart card is a generic name to define any plastic card sized as a credit card and embedding a microchip. For more information about what is a smart card, i advise you to google or read ISO7816 standard.
Your second question is answered above.
For the data that you can find in a SIM card, i will advise you to read GSM 11.11 specification that you can find for free on internet.

  • Synchronising phone contacts and SIM card contacts

    I have a 5300 music express.
Incoming calls or missed calls from contacts recorded on the SIM card are displayed as "no Number".
Unknown calls display the number, and it displays the name for contacts recorded on the phone.
How do I get the phone to stop displaying "No number" for the SIM card contacts?
    regards
    Will

I think that you misunderstood, none of the contacts are synced with Google and only one is stored on the sim card. The contacts were imported from Backup Assistant when I got the new phone.

  • Unlock code and sim card

I just received an unlock code from AT&t for my iphone 4.  It says that the original sim card needs to be in the phone when connecting to iTunes.  I don't have the original sim card.  I am unlocking this because the person I sold it to wants to activiate with another company.  What do I do? thanks

Well if you don't have the original sim and if it is required to unlock the phone, then you can't unlock it.
Either way contact AT&T and see what they say -

  • 3G-WIC and SIM-card

We are investigating migrating from ISDN to 3G/UMTS access for a couple of remote sites and think the 3G-WIC will be a good substitute. According to the documentation you have to authenticate to the service provider through PPP to get IP-access. This seems straightforward and IOS standard. What we not have found in the documentation is how to enter the PIN-code of the SIM-card, which remains locked without a PIN-code, and will not register in the umts-network.
Is there anyone having practical experience of unlocking SIM-cards on the 3G-WIC? Is there a IOS command for this?

thanx, i've just found it using the search-string "Hwic 3g" :-)
Can you tell me, if there is an antenna included? The Dynamic-Configuration-Tool doesn't worry about configuring it without antenna-option!?
it's correct, that the "Dipole Omnidirectional " is included? (This is the default antenna. Multiband faceplate mounted dipole antenna. This antenna is included with all faceplate-mounted 3G wireless WAN HWICs.)

  • VPN settings and SIM card ?

    1) There seems to be a bug in the VPN setup. When you setup the password in the network setup screen you can access the full keyboard, but if you have it ask for a password when it connects only the numeric keyboard comes up. Also if you have it save the password in the settings, it really doesn't seem to save them.
    2) Can the SIM card be used in a different AT&T phone?

You can't use bluetooth to connect to a computer. The iPhone does not have that BT profile.
I'd suggest plugging the iPhone into the computer and do a restore in iTunes.

  • USA DENMARK AND SIM CARD

I want to know if a friend by the Iphone 5 in the US and bring it to me in Denmark, if the phone will work normally here in Denmark or if there is any incompatibility? I also want to know if it is possible to buy an iphone5 in the USA without a SIM card?

The iPhone 5 is not being sold as officially unlocked and probably won't be for another month or so based on when the iPhone 4S was released a year ago.
The iPhone 5 uses a nano-SIM card, so your carrier in Denmark would need to provide you a nano-SIM card.
LTE with the US iPhone 5 may not work there. If the iPhone is sold officially by Apple in Denmark, Apple will probably sell an LTE iPhone 5 there that can be used with the official carrier or carrier's LTE network in Denmark, which may be different from the iPhone 5 sold in the US.

  • BB 9630 and SIM Card

I have a Tour 9630 from Verizon and I am wondering if it was possible to save the contacts onto the SIM Card?
    DJ
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes, you can, if you have a SIM card in the device (CDMA devices don't require a SIM, but often come with one for the GSM frequencies).
I am not sure why you would want to do so... the SIM will ONLY save a one number per name, no addresses or emails, etc.

waiting for an answer, thanks for the help!

You should call customer service and ask for the global support group. They can assist you in getting the iPhone 4S unlocked so you can use a local SIM card in France. You need to call them before your trip.
