T500 - Conexant HD Audio not showing up in Device Manager

I was recently given a new T500 that had been set up with XP for work. Upon trying to set up some audio software, it displayed an error stating no device was found. I then went and got the latest drivers, but these failed and state "no MEDIA available". How can I check that the Conexant HD Audio is present and working?

Hi,
Try this...
In Fabric Manager  File > Open > Fabrics
Verify "Use FC Alias" is not selected.

  • My wireless adapter is not showing in my device manager under network adaptors

    I have a Pavilion, model p6210f with Windows 7
I have used it for 2 years with an ethernet cable and now I need it to go wireless, however, no wireless adpater is showing in the device manager under network adaptors, only showing the LAN.
Checking the specifications for this model at the hp website, it should have a 56K Win Modem.
Don't know what to do except go buy a USB Wireless adaptor, any ideas?
Called tech support, but I was given no assistance.

    Hi:
Below is the link to the product specs for your PC.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01852858&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en...
The PC does not come with wireless networking capability - only a wired ethernet adapter and a dial up modem.
The easiest thing to do is to purchase and external USB wireless network adapter.
Below is a link which will give you plenty of choices to consider. Look at the reviews and buy one that best suits your needs. You will of course, also need a wireless networking router.

  • MS-1762 with new 770M not showing up in Device Manager

Recently I tried to install a 765M into my Medion Erazer X7817, which is an MS-1762 barebone. Since that didn't work out in the end I returned the item and bought a green 770M which was said to be compatible with MSI (1762 as well as other boards) and Alienware.
The card came today and I inserted the new card into my laptop. There was no difference in terms of startup - no resolution change, nothing. Originally, if there was no card or a dead card inside the laptop the fan would spin up to 100% a few minute after startup. But after I installed the 770M the fan is quiet and normal, HOWEVER the card isn't showing up in Device Manager. It also isn't showing up in the NVflash utility so a vBIOS flash is out of the question for now. I have reseated the GPU and I double-checked to make sure it was in correctly.
Since the card is newer than both the 670M (the card which came with the laptop when I first bought it, which has died) and the 765M (the one I bought but didn't work in the end as it was for Clevo and Alienware only) would a BIOS update make the card visible somehow? Obviously I cannot install the drivers, only the Intel HD Graphics 4000 is showing up, and that has the latest drivers.
Any suggestions? This is a MS-1762 barebone, stock BIOS:
    American Megatrends Inc.

nope this bios is not for your notebook
    because its change .1xx ==> 7.xx , ie: Win7 ==> Win8
and because its change Medion to Retail
    double cross flashing
if you flash it, it may brick your notebook
or if its not bricked it can cause a side effects like brightness wifi are not working and to such
with no option to flash back to your original one
I realized. I could have used the /x parameter in afudos to force it, but that could've made things worse.
Which bios should I use then? Does unlocking my current bios allow compatablity for 7xxM cards?

  • Graphics Card Does Not Show Up In Device Manager (Re: Installing AMD Video Drivers - Windows 8.1 (Step-By-Step Tutorial)

This tutorial is a step-by-step tutorial on how to "fix" issues of a new graphics card not appearing in Windows 8.1 Pro, or not appearing (as a device) in Device Manager, or it's not being detected by Windows 8.1.
This is the "second part" of a Step-by-Step Tutorial on how to install AMD Radeon graphics card drivers in Windows 8.1 Pro.
GRAPHICS CARD IS NOT DETECTED AND DOES NOT SHOW UP IN WINDOWS 8.1 DEVICE MANAGER
This problem can appear if the video card is not installed properly in the PCI slot and as a result the card is not detected in device manager. Check the physical connections again, reinsert the card properly in the PCI slot, check the connections (including the power cables going to the video card, and ensure that the fan on the graphics card is spinning and the card does have power and is properly seated/inserted) and then install the drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
If the video card is in fact installed properly, but the problem of the video card not being discovered/found by the operating system persists, then try these following methods below to check if this solves the problem.
    Method 1:
First, I would suggest you to run the following Microsoft Fixit to get the problem automatically detected and fixed. This Microsoft "fixit" App checks if the device is currently disabled or turned off or the driver is not installed.
Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows.
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us
    Method 2:
Sometimes, some devices in device manager are hidden due to corrupt or missing drivers.
Follow the steps below to show hidden devices in the device manager and troubleshoot accordingly.
Press the Windows key + X
    Select Command Prompt (Admin)
Type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 and hit enter
Type Start DEVMGMT.MSC and hit enter.
Once in Device Manager hit the View menu and select show hidden devices.
From here, remove each instance of the AMD or Nvidia card you see as well as each unknown device. Exit Device Manager and reinstall the latest drivers you can find for your graphics card.
After you install the drivers, reboot and see if you get any different results.
If the above solved your problems and the Graphics Card is now working and is now being properly detected/displayed in Windows Device Manager:
If your graphics card is now being detected by Windows 8.1 in Device Manager, but has a "yellow exclamation" mark (or video drivers are not found or not properly installed or the device is disabled) then install the latest graphics card drivers and proceed with this Step-by-Step Tutorial on how to install AMD Radeon graphics card drivers in Windows 8.1 Pro.
    Method 3:
If methods suggested above does not help, I would recommend you to contact Apple/AMD/NVIDIA to get the latest chipset, BIOS, graphics card drivers installed properly.

  • URGENT Lenovo g550 webcam does not show up in Device Manager and all drivers cannot be installed

Hello everyone. So my lenovo g550 webcam stopped working after I did a clean install of windows 7 home. When I go under device manager I do not see any unknow devices. When I also go to show hidden devices it is not there. Could anyone give me information about how to fix this and if the cable to the webcam might be broken. If so, is there a way I could convert the webcam's pin outs to usb to test it. I have split an old usb cable into four colored spots. Not sure if i want to test it though. That would be my last resort. If needbe, can you tell me the pin outs for the webcam. It has five connectors. The reason I know this is usb is because my older installation on windows 7 detected it and said that the usb could be faster. Thanks.

Sorry about that. I've only been a member for a few days. I will remove the post with all Capps. Have a nice day!

  • MSATA not showing up in Device Manager

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T420 running a Samsung 830 as the main drive.  I purchased a Crucial 64GB mSata drive so I can backup files from my main drive, to the Crucial drive.  I installed the drive, it shows up in the Bios but I don't see it in the device manager or disk manager.  Is there anything else I need to do to get the OS to see it?  I am running Windows 8 x64.

    Hi fowen,
That's strange.  I have a Crucial mSATA SSD in my T420, but I was doing a Win 7 install - so not the same situation.
I wonder if Win 8 or one of the installed components (or the BIOS) configuration is combining that SSD with the HDD as a cache device?  BIOS in RAID mode?  Disk driver doing something odd?
Have a look at the 2nd post in this link and see if it gives you anthing to try.  (This is a total WAG on my part.)

  • Wireless adapter not showing up in device manager

    Hello all,
I am having a particularly frustrating problem. I was playing around with the memory timings to overclock my computer and all of a sudden, my wireless adapter ceases to exist to my computer. It does not show up anywhere in device manager (including no unknown devices or anything), only the Ethernet shows up. I have tried a system restore, turned off all OC and my BIOS is updated to the most recent version. Is it possible that trying to overclock my computer caused the wireless adapter to burn out? The motherboard I'm using is the msi x99S gaming 9 ack.
Any help would be very appreciated, thank you all in advance for your time to help out!

remove power cord from the PSU and >>Clear CMOS Guide<<
if the wifi card is removable, try to reseat it
also install latest killer drivers from:
    http://www.msi.com/support/mb/X99S-GAMING-9-ACK.html#down-driver&Win8.1 64
[try older version as well if needs]

  • Wifi card sometimes showing sometimes not showing up in device manager

Recently on startup my wifi connection sometimes does not appear and when i go into device manager it does not seem to be there at all. Through some research it could be that my inbuilt wifi card is dying? I might have to reboot my laptop 6 times before it miraculously seems to work. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Do i need to buy a new wireless card? Thanks.

    Hi there ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome! This is a great site to get answers and ask questions. I have looked into the issue you are having with your WiFi connection disappearing on your HP Pavilion DV6 6B00 Notebook with Windows 7. Have you tried to connect the Router directly to the Notebook? Here is a document I found called HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide. In this document it will show you where the Wireless Network Card sits and how to reseat the card. Sometimes this can help reset it with the Notebook. The other document that I found for you is called Troubleshooting Your Wireless Network and Internet Connection for Windows 7. I am also attaching a link to update the Drivers for your HP Pavilion DV6 6B00. This link is from the HP Website and there is an updated Intel Wireless Drivers for Microsoft Windows 7 driver available.
Please follow these provided troubleshooting steps, re-post and let me know how everything went.
Thank you! Have a great day!

  • T61p - IEEE 1394 (Firewire) port does not show up in device manager in Windows 7 x64

I have a T61p.  On the front, in the left corner, right next to the wireless on/off switch, is a IEEE 1394 (Firewire) port.  However, if I plug anything into it, it's not recognized by Windows, and if I go into the device manager in Windows, there is no IEEE 1394 host manager or ports or anything listed there.
I have rebooted and gone into the BIOS, and I don't see anything in there about 1394 either.  Is the port there, but the hardwire inside is missing?  Do I need to enable it somehow?

Let me clarify that.  I have something in the device manager called "SD Host Adapters", and under that "SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller".  That thing has a Microsoft driver.
However, under "IDE ATA/ATAPI contollers", I do see "Ricoh Memory Stick Contoller", "Ricoh SD/MMC Host Contoller", and "Ricoh xD-Picture Card Contoller".
I also have "PCMCIA adapters" that has "Ricoh R/RL/5C476(II) or Compatible CardBus Contoller".
So, it would seem I have the right drivers for the card reader, I'm just missing anything for the IEEE 1394 contoller...

  • Zen Stone not showing up in device manager

Before you send me to some link... I have hit quite a few?Currently I have been trying to use the Muovo driver; it flashes that it has detected something then it searches for about 2-5 minutes (it does not detect the player) and shuts down? When I use the Zen stone driver I get the Semaphore period timed out message?Yes I down loaded and ran the Recovery driver from Packard Bell....(however there is no questions asked it just runs and thats it)?Using Windows Media 0?Currnetly the zen stone shows up in USB mass storage device(but not on)Sometimes it shows up as recovery class device...but will not be detected??So any ideas?

There is another possible cause - which I found from this board - if you ever had an Iomega driver loaded on your PC e.g. from a Zip dri've, but there are other Iomega drivers around too, this can causes this problem. (Don't ask why............). If you can find a Iomega driver on your PC, you need to delete it. This worked for me - and I had a similar problem to you before I deleted the Zen driver. Honeyrose

  • U330 wireless not showing up in device manager after reinstalling OS

    hi,
my wireless doesn't work anymore. I've made sure the switch is on, and have pressed fn+F5. I've installed the drivers from here: http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_show_279.html
i've tried to search for new hardware, deleted all the hardware that wasn't installed correctly and rebooted. I also rebooted and pressed f2 to get to set up and checked under advanced that wireless was enabled.
For some reason my computer doesn't know that my wireless card exists.
what next? any suggestions? wireless card worked fine before restore so my guess is it's not a hardware problem, though truth be told i don't know how to check the hardware so i have no real way of knowing if that is it.
    thank you!
oh - my OS is Vista 32 bit.

Was the reinstall a Restore, or installed from a Windows disk?
Some things to check, if you have not already.
Is the wlan driver installed? Look in Uninstall a Program
section of Control panel for the Intel driver.
Does the driver install in a "two step process"?
Some older drivers extract to a folder on your hard drive,
usually C:\drivers\* and then you must run the Setup
    file from there.
The way to check if it is hardware is install a different card,
not always a simple thing to do if you don't have spare cards
    laying around!
