T500 - - Fn + Spacebar - Full Screen Magnifer

How does this feature work?
I currently have an external 19" monitor designated as the primary display, and the laptop 15" as the secondary.
When selecting Fn + Spacebar, a window displays that asks:
"Woud you like to move the active window from your primary display to your secondary display / projector?"
with Yes and No buttons.
When I select Yes or No, I can't see any result.

this is a user to user support site, so i guess people don't know how to solve the issue that you mentioned.

  • Spacebar full screen zooms into 800%

When I do a slideshow Ctl+L or just hit space bar after selecting a thumbnail and then left click on large image, it zooms to 800%.
Any way of getting it back to 100% like CS4? to check sharpness?

    Thanks
Just update video card driver but it still zooms into 800%.
    Never used to in CS4

  • Full-screen (spacebar) preview quality testing

[For background story, please read http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1056763 but be warned, it's very l-o-n-g!]
In brief: some people have noted that Bridge full-screen (spacebar) previews (FSPs) don't accurately reflect the sharpness of a photograph. Sometimes this can be explained by individual configuration problems, but it's clear that this is a common issue amongst people using Bridge to assess/score photograph sharpness, without having to build/examine 100% previews for every image.
[It's worth noting that one common reason why FSPs aren't very sharp is because the Bridge advanced preference "Generate Monitor-Size Previews" hasn't been ticked, as this produces a higher resolution image cache.  Another cause of very fuzzy previews is random and unexplained, but can usually be solved by restarting Bridge and/or clearing the cache for the selection.]
This discussion concerns the lack of sharpness seen only in FSPs.  It can be described as "a subtle but significant loss of detail and sharpness, similar to a slightly out of focus photograph"; imagine a photo with a little bit of blur filter, or a Photoshop PSD at a non-standard zoom setting.  This "softening" of the image is caused by Bridge asking the graphics processor to resize the image cache to fit the display.  If you select the Bridge advanced preference "Use Software Rendering", you can improve a poor FSP slightly, at the expense of speed, by bypassing the graphics processor.
    The test
Visit this web page and download the last image ("2362x3543 pixel, 4.5 Mb") to your computer.
Browse to this image in Bridge, and view it full-screen by pressing Spacebar.  Take a screen capture, and save it as a TIFF or PSD.
Adjust your slideshow settings (Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-L), picking "Scaled to Fill", then click on "Play".  Save the screen capture, as above.
You now have two screen captures: one FSP, and one cache JPEG reference shot.  Examine them side by side at 100%, or layer them in Photoshop and use the hide layer button to flick between images.  Pay particular attention to the two left-hand photos, the sharpness check text, and the converging lines.
Make a note of your computer's operating system, graphics processor and driver version, as well as your largest display's pixel dimensions.
Post this information below, together with high quality (10) JPEGs of both screen captures, labelled FSP and REF, and any observations, so we can all see.

OK, it usually takes me a while to let the penny drop, especially when it comes to maths...
I also am busy with the transition of my new Mac pro but with al this here are my results. I include several screenshots but due to upload limit of 2 MB per image in here I downsized the original screenshots a lot, but hopefully it will be clear.
For full screen screenshots I have the asked FSP and REF but also the 100% preview in Bridge with space bar and click. Don't know what your file size is but using EOS 1Dx with 18 MP CR2 files (converted to DNG) it does take me about 1,5 - 2 seconds for both loupe and FSP to build a 100 % preview, and I seem to recall this was not very different behavior on my previous (6 year old) Mac Pro.
You are right (of course... :-) ) regarding the difference between FSP and REF, when studying closely there is a significant detail difference between the FSP and the REF. However, only the 100 % preview matches the original jpeg. The FSP file is on closer look not so good with details but the REF file is only slightly better, both are not correct and therefor the 100 % is still needed.
    Here is the FSP screenshot:
    and here the REF screenshot:
also the 100 % preview in full screen screenshot:
and finally a composed file with details from original, 100 % REF and FSP:
As said before, at first sight I can't spot significant difference between all options and the full screen (as the preview panel HQ preview) let's me spot the vast majority of unsharpness issues, hence my multiple rounds of sorting and incases of doubt the 100 % option.
So while your theory is correct I'm afraid I  (still) doubt the usefulness of this all. If neither the FSP and the REF (although the latter does show a bit better result) can match the results of the original but the 100 % does it well I don't see an easy solution for improvement.
I agree with the quality from the screenshots Curt provided, but Curt also uses the embedded thumbnail instead of HQ preview option. Depending on his needs and hard ware availability it would be nice to see new results with the HQ and monitor sized previews options enabled.

  • Bridge won't show me full screen view when pressing spacebar?

This has been happening for a while now.  I've had this mac and cs4 for a while with no problems.  Then one day, I was looking through a recent photo shoot, I pressed space bar so I could view the image in full screen view, and the dashboard disappeared as well as the menu bar at the top for Bridge itself. ??
I did all updates, as well as un-installed Bridge and re-installed.  Still having the same (ANNOYING) issue?!
Why would Bridge just ONE DAY start doing this?  Is it some setting or something I clicked?  I don't get it.
If anyone's had this problem before (and figured it out!) I would be SO GRATEFUL for some help!

I pressed space bar so I could view the image in full screen view, and the dashboard disappeared as well as the menu bar at the top for Bridge itself. ??
Not sure I understand your problem, Bridge by default shows only the image at full screen with a grey background bordering the parts that don't fit to the screen ratio. Clicking with the mouse in the image shows that part at 100 % and having used rating (cmd + . or cmd + , ) for in- or decreasing rating brings the rating and filename bottom left in view. Has always been this way to my knowledge.
For good sharpness of the full screen image select the option to generate monitor sized previews in Bridge preferences advanced tab.

  • Is this possible? View photos in full screen and navigate using cursor

Recent convert from PC. Love the mac thus far but this is driving me crazy. What I am trying to do is to view pictures (in a folder) in full screen and be able to navigate either using the left-right cursor or some kind of buttons on the screen. Here's what I did:
    1) Intuitively, I double clicked on one of pics. It brings up Preview. So far so good. Able to view full screen but wait! There's no way to go the the next or previous pics. Ok I get it Preview is supposed to 'simply preview' a doc/pic. It is not a full fledge image viewing application.
    2) Few Googles later, I learned about quicklook. Easy enough, I pressed the spacebar and can see the pictures. Left-right cursor works! But wait! It stops when you view the last picture in the row (i.e. it doesn't go the next row). Huh?
    3) Few Googles later. I learned about using the 'tab' instead. Very nice...I can now browse pics on the next rows...BUT...how do I go back?
    4) Few Googles later. I learned about using the 'shift tab' to go back (now this is getting annoying). Fine, now that I've nailed navigation 101, how do I view the pics in full screen? Quicklook only utilize like 50% of the screen. I don't think it is possible....so back to square one.
    5) More Googles later. I learned about "command a" to select all pictures and then "enter". This will open Preview with all the pictures and presto the left-right cursor works, a left-right icon appears and voila the "full screen" icon is available.
Can some expert/genius please tell me if I am too stupid to use a Mac or that Windows 7 is indeed a more superior os.

Thomas thanks. I think we (mostly I) are beating on a dead horse here. I guess I had figured out the answer from the get-go but is simply ranting. Windows may be a crappy os but when it comes to picture viewing, it is more intuitive.
Now that I've figured out that the "solution" is to select all and then open in preview. Another question came up...what if I want to start viewing and navigating from the middle of the pack? Assuming I have a 100 pics, and I "open" pic 50. Using preview on a single pic wont' let me navigate as you had mentioned. Quicklook allows tab/shift tab but not full screen. The "select all then open in preview" won't cut it since it will start from pic 1. Selecting just pic 50 to 100 then preview works but won't allow you to view pic 49 and before.

  • Problem with full screen playback

Everything works fine until I go to preview in full screen. I hit the space bar to play the viewer and nothing happens. If I move the mouse over to where the play button is in the viewer window before the screen goes full and click where it was, it will play.
The spacebar works fine when not in full screen mode. Any ideas?
Im running FCE 3.0 in a PB 1.5 ghz with 2 gigs of ram running 10.4.8. I have not changed anything about my system that i know of (except the normal updates) since i did my last project last year and the full screen worked fine then.
    Thanks for any help.
    John

By previewing fullscreen on your Powerbook, you're stretching video that is 720x480 to fit a 1280x854 screen. Recipe for ugliness.
I'd recommend just setting your Canvas to 100% and viewing it at native resolution.
I saved a different window layout for this on my Powerbook. It has a keyboard shortcut assigned to it, so I have one layout for basic editing, and another layout to blow it up to 100% for viewing.

  • Problem with full screen Quick Look preview

With multiple images selected, I used to be able to hold down Option-Spacebar to get full screen previews in Quick Look. Now with Mavericks, I only get the full screen look at the first image in the batch. The rest do not view full screen. Any ideas why this is happening?

    RobbyBoy wrote:
But why would I have to keep holding the Option key after the initial Option-Spacebar to get the full screen previews? Shouldn't all the images I originally selected be full screen? It used to work this way in Mountain Lion. Maybe a bug in Mavericks?
I guess we need to define "full screen" and "full size" so we're sure we're talking about the same thing.
For me, full size means that the image is shown in its true pixel dimensions, and full screen means that QuickLook takes over the entire screen, displaying full size images on a black background. Further, images that are opened in full screen QuickLook can be zoomed in upon to fill up the screen either vertically or horizontally, depending on the image's format, in relation to my screen's dimensions.
When I QuickLook images (one or more) in full screen by pressing option-space bar, the image (or, the first image in a group) appears full size on a black background that fills my screen.
When I press the right arrow key, the next image in my selection opens full size on top of the same black background.
When one of the images I have selected is open on the black background in full-screen QuickLook and I press and hold the option key, that image is zoomed to fill up the screen, and when I let go of the option key, the image zooms back out to its full size.
Alternatively, and if this option is enabled in System Preferences > Accessibility > Zoom, I can hold the control key down and use scrolling gestures to zoom in and out of images open in full screen QuickLook.
That is, as far as I know, QuickLook's expected behavior.

  • Bridge cs6 why do the photos have poor quality in full screen preview ?

    Hi
    windows 7 64bit , bridge cs6
well i load 20mp or 22mp pixel photos , raw and jpg
i select the images i want to watch and with the spacebar i go in full screen preview
but in fit to screen they look bad  , i mean with no crips , no details
but in full screen preview 100% the photos look great
    why ?
is there an option to watch them in fit to screen , full screen preview with a great quality
    thanks

    mantralightroom wrote:
why is it this option disabled? do the generate monitor sized previews increase a lot the cache a lot!
Potentially, yes. The standard Preview is 1024 pixels, longest size. Some people (like Omke) have displays 2560 pixels longest side, potentially increasing file size by over 500%.

  • X800-XT Mac Edition and Photoshop CS2 in Full Screen Mode

I recently installed a new ATI X800XT AGP Retail card into my Dual 2-Gig G5 Mac. I have (2) Sony CRTs connected to this card - a 21" Artisan and a 24" GDM-FW900. So far I have only found one problem and this involves Full-Screen Mode in Photoshop CS2 under a certain condition.
All of the following conditions must be met to reproduce this anomoly, but it is at least consistent and happens 100% of the time. Here are the conditions:
    (1) Open any image in Photoshop CS2
    (2) Zoom in on the image until the image area exceeds the boindaries of the screen.
    (3) Go into Full-Screen Mode (without Menu Bar showing) but hitting the "F" key twice.
    (4) Hit the Tab key to hide toolbars (the image should now fill the screen and extend off all four borders.
    (5) Now - holding down the spacebar to get the hand tool - pan the umage around the screen with the grabber hand. You will notice that the image will not refresh properly.
    (6) One other condition must be met - you must perform this while on the main monitor which normally has the OSX Menu Bar present. Note: changing the menu bar to the other monitor causes this problem to migrate to that monitor only.
    Can anyone else reproduce this?

Post this over at the Adobe forums to see if it's just a CS2 problem.

  • How do I pause a full screen slideshow in Reader?

Is there any way to pause a full-screen slideshow in the latest version of Adobe Reader?  All of the information I can find about this says to use the Spacebar (or Ctrl-Spacebar) to do this, but this just makes it advance for me.  I see this on more than one system, and I've read a few other posts from people saying they have this problem.  Somebody on the Lightroom forums just confirmed today that it didn't work for them either, so it's not unique to my system.
My slideshows were created in Lr.  The Lr documentation says that the duration and fade rates set in Lr will be ignored in the pdf slideshow, but just as a test I tried both enabling and disabling this feature when outputting the pdf slideshow.  It made no difference.
Is this a bug in Reader, or is there perhaps a command I'm unaware of to pause pdf slideshows?
Thanks for any help with this,
    Larry

  • Full Screen mode - file Name

    Hi
Is there a way to display the file nane in Full Screen Mode.. This would speed things up for me.. we take 2 or 3 shot
of every kid.. We rename all the files. So going back and for trying to pick the best one and delete the others. We are making the switch to Mac and we are used to ACDSee on the PC..

Is there a way to display the file nane in Full Screen Mode..
Yes Bridge displays file names in full screen mode but strangely enough not
when having opened the files with hitting spacebar the first go. You have to
rate one and after this all the files will appear bottom left including the
    star rating.
I'm kind of used to this but glad you remind us again, to my opinion it
should be there in the first place, viewing full screen is not the same use
    as viewing a slide show.
Again strangely in slideshow you have the option to set caption in some
rudimental form but for full screen preview I'm not aware of such an option.
But as said, the workaround is to select files in Bridge, hit space and use
the shortcut cmd+. (dot) to increase the rating with one star.
Now all the filenames and ratings / labels do show permanently for this
    visit to full screen.
Decreasing rating is also easily done with cmd+, (comma). Hitting this
decrease option first to none rated files sets them to reject, again hit
cmd+. And the rating turns back from reject to zero.
It is a very easy and useful way of selecting and rating, all the keys you
need are close to each other

  • Can I watch a project's finished video full-screen without exporting?

I wonder if I can manage my polished videos in FCP 7's projects and watch them in full screen mode just as I have done in Aperture 3 without having to export them first.

You can watch them full screen using FCP's Digital Cinema Desktop mode ... under the View menu, choose Video Playback > "Digital Cinema Desktop Preview - Main" ... and then press Cmd-F12 (keyboard shortcut for View menu > External Video > All Frames)
Press the spacebar to start/stop playback (same transport controls as usual) and then press Esacpe (or Cmd-F12 again) to toggle turn it off.
Note that this mode is not offering a broadcast quality preview, but just a reasonably good fullscreen proxy of one.

  • Quick Look full screen mode won't move to next image?

When I highlight the first image in a folder full of multiple images and then press "Space" quick look opens and shows me that first image. I can then move on to the next image by simply pressing the down arrow.
But if I enter quick look's full screen mode it won't move to the next image unless I first select all the images in the folder before entering full screen mode?
Why? Why would functionality SO simple (move to the next image) not be included in the full screen mode of quick look? It renders the full screen mode essentially pointless, who wants to look at ONE image in full screen? Of course everyone wants to browse the images, but why should I have to select all of them, why not just let me move from one to the next... exactly as I can when NOT in full screen mode?
    C'mon apple...

I remembered that there had been a slight bug in the Leopard Quicklook, so that if you went to full-screen QL, then used Command-Tab to switch to another program, then Command-Tab back to Finder, you would be back in QL Full Screen, but you could now navigate with the arrow keys. At first I thought this had been fixed, and started mucking about with other key combos and accidently got it going again. Took awhile to figure out exactly what I had done, but it works like this:
    1. Select your file, hit spacebar and click the full screen arrows
    2. Command-tab to some other program
    3. Mouse click the toolbar or sidebar of the open folder with your file in it
    4. You can now navigate with the arrow keys
Although I don't really see how this is better or easier than opening the folder, hitting Command-A, then bringing up QL....

  • Is there a way (script?) to force 'not full screen' ?

I have a lot of content that viewers use in full screen, but links to Portfolios that themselves then try to open in full screen cause problems as follows:-
v8 Packages that try to open full screen as a v9 portfolio crash Reader.
v8 Packages that try to open full screen as a v10 portfolio in Acrobat X cause a 'bad parameter' error (don't open).
v10 Portfolios open at a strange magnification with no screen controls visible.
So; I need to make sure that these files do not open full screen.  As some users will already have left full screen and others won't, its no good using the usual 'toggle' command / tick box either on the source or destination files.
Hope that is clear enough!!  thanks.

Many thanks 'Try'...   adding that as a page open script has done the job.

  • Using Full Screen view zoom slider

If I zoom all the way in by dragging the zoom slider all the way to the right (or clicking the icon at the right of the zoom slider) am I displaying the picture at 100% or greater magnification?
    Thanks.

    Hi Michel
I think it's 200%. When you're in full screen view, tap '1' to view 100%, '2' for full zoom (200%?) and '0' to return to the unzoomed image.
    Hope that helps, Rich
