T500 Integrated Camera Issues

I have a brand new T500 with Vista Business 32 bit installed. The laptop came with an integrated camera. The camera appears in the device manager as working properly. However, when I go to control panel => scanners and cameras the camera doesn't appear in the list. I proceed to select Add Device where the camera is still undetected. I downloaded the most recent drivers from IBM's site and attempted the "have disk" method browsing and selecting the recently downloaded driver where it never lists a device that I'm able to install. Please help!

I'm not sure why, but I think this is normal.  On my computer, when I set up Skype it found the camera right away, but it didn't show in the Control Panel Scanners & Cameras.

Were there any upgrades done to the system recently?
Has there been any dropped or anything?
How long have you had your system and how long has the camera not been working?
What operating system are you using?

  • T420 Integrated Camera Issues

I have the T420 with RHEL 6 running on the local drive and have Windows XP and a Windows 7 VM created in the Client for Linux virtual software.  I can not get the intergrated webcam to work at all in the VM's.  I've tried to load the driver but it won't finish due to the webcam not being found at all in Windows. It works just fine in RHEL 6, but no software is made for webcam chatting for this OS.
Does anybody know how to get the webcam feature to pass through to the VM's?  I have added the USB device option in the Open Client for the Chiconey Electronics Ltd Integrated Camera.
Or is this a supported opton at all? It would be very nice to be able to use the webcam.
    thx

    Hi keithrees,
Please try install/overwrite web cam driver.

Guys, try checking the power-off state of device in device manager.
it may happen so that laptop turns camera off to save energy.
So check all tabs of device in device manager to be sure there's an option "do NOT allow to turn the device off to save power"

  • T500 Win7 64 bit Integrated Camera Not Working

I have a T500 64 bit with Win7 Pro. The integrated camera in the device manager has the following error:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
I have installed the latest driver from the Lenovo site:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70600.html
And made sure after I installed this driver, the version in device manager is the same: 1.32.500.0
I have also installed Yawcam but it says no device selected when I launch it. It doesnt detect the integrated camera.
    Please help in resolving this.
    Thanks,
    Mazen

did not correct the issue for me, nor did instally easy capture as suggested elsewhere on this site... the key combo Fn-F6 has no effect the only key combination that does anything is Fn-PgUp which only turns on the camera light. Attempting to install the driver for the integrated camera fails silently (dies before completely installing without notice) so I am at a loss, I have been trying to get this working off & on for about 31/2 months to no avail and am about to give up and deal with a USB solution.

  • T500 Laptop Model 2242-CT0 - Integrated Camera No Longer Shows in Devices

Laptop is about 14 months old. Integrated camera was working fine.  I was using Skype the other day & it could not find the camera. I went into Devices & uninstalled the driver. Then the camera disappeared from Devices altogether.
I downloaded/installed the latest driver for the camera:  version 1.32.500.0 (7tca23ww.exe), rebooted, but the device list still does not show in devices (yes-"Show Hidden" is selected).
    Running Win 7 64 bit.
Latest updates for windows are installed.   I periodically get an error message popping up that "Device driver failed install", but that's it.
Attempts to run hdwwiz to install the camera were not successful, as I do not see any "Camera" listed under the Ricoh drivers section.

    Hi HLemieux,
I researched your issue and this is what I found from the Lenovo Assisted Search:
"If your webcam on your laptop is not working, try these following steps:
    1. Be sure your webcam driver is installed. (It can be found at http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/ot/en/DriversDownLoads/Drivers.html)
    2. By checking the webcam if it is disabled by Fn+Esc.
If you see the cross line on the webcam sign press to Fn+Esc to enable the webcam.
    3. If you do not see the webcam sign on the right corner of display after pressing Fn+Esc, be sure your Energy Management is installed. (It can be found at http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/ot/en/DriversDownLoads/Drivers.html)
After you download the Energy Management driver from Lenovo Website, install the software.
During energy management installation if you see the window as below “Utility” must be selected for Fn hot-key application (Utility is a software package under EM)
    4. After installation of Energy Management please perform step 2 to enable Webcam if it is disabled."
Try this and let us know how it works for you.

  • Yellow Tint in Integrated Camera Picture

I have a T61 and a T500. The integrated camera on the T61 produces a yellow tint, the one on T500 works fine. If you pass a sheet of white paper infront of the T61 camera, it fixes the issue, but I'd like a permanent fix. Does anyone know why it does that? Is it older hardware (camera) or would a software update fix the issue?
P.S. There is no plastic film on the camera

They were done after the latest updates : GDR3 and Black.
The results are the same as before : GDR or Black didn't improve things.
    Btw.
Here is one of the pictures in my PDF file that I corrected with Paintshop.
The paintshop version is how the scene really looks like.

  • What is the reason that the integrated camera does not exist in the hardware configuration?

When I start Face Time, my integrated camera doesn't work.
I check my hardware configuration, but, the camera doesn't exist.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Does it happen with other applications that use the camera, like Photo Booth? If so, I recommend you to reset the PRAM > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379 Then, reset the SMC > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
After resetting the SMC, start the iMac and see if you can use your camera. If not, hold Command and R keys while your computer is starting and reinstall OS X through OS X Recovery > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
If it doesn't work, it's a hardware issue, so make a backup of your data and take the iMac to an Apple Store or reseller

  • ThinkCentre E73z integrated camera cannot be used in Skype

    Hi,
I have just finished the complete updating of the preinstalled windows7 professional on my new ThinkCentre E73z. This is the first use.
I'm very disappointed. When I installed Skype it says that Skype can't detect any Webcam. They offer to buy one.
When I opened up the new computer package there was "Brief user noctices" paper and it indicates that there is an integrated camera in the front. Is it an error, and actualy ThinkCentre E73z does not have a camera built in or this camera is not equivalent with a webcam?
This is my first Lenovo. Maybe I should take it back to the shop and ask my money back. What is going on?
Lenovo preinstalled this windows 7 professional. They built in a camera but forgot to install a driver for their hardware?
Really? The customer should install the driver? And which one?
    I'm puzzled with it.
I came across with this camera issu first, what else, more serious things can I expect later?
Anyway, can you give me your advice what to do?
Using Device Manager in Win7 how can I find out that there is a camera there or not?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    The situation is worse.
I just realised that the microphone is not working too. Nothing can be done to get it work.
It seems the whole panel in the front top of the monitor is out of order.
No microphone, no camera, no camera indicator.
    I have a suspicion.
I asked the seller in the computer shop to replace the DVD drive with an SSD. (www.digiprime.hu)
They might have made a mistake. When replacing the DVD with SSD drive they disconected the panel containing the camera and microphone. Wired them off and forget to connect them again.
    Is it possible?

  • Samsung Integrated Camera not working with Skype

    Hi,
I have a Samsung ES7000 series TV with an integrated camera.  When using the Skype app, this initially works for approximately 1 minute but then a message appears on the TV saying “Connecting USB Camera and Mic”. This results in getting disconnected from the video call.
I have contacted Samsung on a number of occasions and after performing a number of checks without success to fix the problem, they suggested that this is probably a Skype app issue and I should contact Skype.
Could you please help resolve this issue?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I wonder about the message, which is "Connecting USB Camera and Mic".
Did you have a software upgrade for TV?
At that time, did you unplug the power cable by force?
I recommend "please do a upgrade software of TV"
The upgrade is through the Network.
You can see the upgrade button at "Main Menu --> Support --> Software Upgrade --> Online".
    IMPORTANT.
After upgrading TV, it will be automatically reboot.
Please, Don't power off until finishing upgrade by force.
    I hope your success!!
    Thanks.

  • T530 Lenovo Integrated Camera not working, Lenovo Camera Settings does not Display

Hello, I have a new T530 with Windows 8 OS. I am having trouble using the integrated camera. It functions neither in the Windows camera app nor in Skype. In both cases I get a picture with a gray background and a camera with a line through it. In Device manager, the camera does appear, is enabled, and the drivers are up to date.
After looking through other threads, I tried checking whether the camera was plugged in and indeed it was. When using Skype and I set the camera to on (Skype did detect the camera), I still got the gray no camera image, but the green light on the camera itself turned on.
I also tried using Fn+F6 to check settings. Lenovo settings opens, but the when I click the camera settings Icon, the screen loads a blank page that says "Camera" in the top right and has a back button (left pointing arrow) in the top left hand corner. The back button does not seem to work and I must change the window to something else in order to exit/close settings.
I tried manually installing both camera drivers and "power management" ("energy management"?) drivers. Neither of this solved either of these issues.
Please help me to resolve this problem. Thank you.

    Hi, euterpenc
I would make sure that the BIOS is up to date in the system. The current BIOS for your system is 2.07 and can be found here. Also, I would ensure that the chipset drivers are up to date, and those can be found here.
Hope it helps, and let me know how it goes
    Adam

  • Thinkpad Yoga integrated camera is not working

    Hi there,
I have a problem with integrated camera in my Thinkapad Yoga. The camera doesn't work. In manager device there is no such thing like camera. I have installed the newest drivers from Lenovo website but is didn't help. Lenovo Solution Center is reporting about unknown device which is not installed but i can't figure it out what is it.

    Hi,
Camera is a USB device. Try updating the USB hub drivers. Update BIOS to the latest version as well. Now try installing the camera drivers.
If it didn’t help, it sounds like a hardware issue with your camera. The cable might have got unplugged or the camera itself would have gone faulty. I would strongly recommend you to contact our technical support for assistance.

  • X220 integrated camera Windows 8.1 not showing up

    Hello,
Im using X220 with Windows 8.1 Pro.
Under Fn + F6 i have TouchPad, Wireless, Battery, Audio
    I installed:
    - Lenovo Power Management Driver 1.67.04.05
    - Lenovo Settings Dependency Package 2.2.0.28
    - Lenovo Solution Center 2.4.003.000
    - Lenovo System Update 5.06.0016
    - On Screen Display 6.71.00
    - Ricoh_media_driver_v2.22.18.01
    - ThinkPad UltraNav Driver 16.2.19.14
    - ThinkVantage Active Protection System 1.79.00.03
    And from Microsoft Store:
    - Lenovo Settings - which run when i hit fn+f6
Non of driver updater find the built-in camera, same with Deviace Manager.
Lenovo System Update dont download any camera related software.
I understand that somekind of driver need to be installed to be able to turn on the camer.
But non i found activate it.
From what I read it should be in Lenovo Settings with Audio settings, but sadly nothing there.
When I start the build in app "camera" from Windows, it tells me there is no atached camera.
Those are the Lenovo x220 related installed application that showed up in Add/Remove Software.
Sadly the only camera driver from Lenovo page which is: Integrated Camera Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), XP - ThinkPad , dosn't help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thank you for confirming.
Here's what I get for your MTM:
    ThinkPad X220 (4291-TGY)
    i5-2540M(2.6GHz), 4GB RAM, 320GB 7200rpm HD, 12.5in 1366x768 LCD, Intel HD Graphics,
    Intel 802.11agn wireless, WWAN option,Bluetooth, 1Gb Ethernet,UltraNav, Secure Chip, 6c Li-Ion,Win7 Pro 32
I notice that there is no mention of a camera. Are you sure your X220 has the physical device installed?
If you use your MTM and your serial number here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/ibasepartslookup
you should get back a listing of the components installed in your machine at its build. The list can be somewhat cryptic, so please feel free to post it back here and we can dig further.

  • Z61m Integrated camera disappeared from Device Manager

Within the last two days the integrated camera just disappeared from Device Manager.
Uninstalled and reinstalled software, tried lenovousbwebcam.exe (including removing vsnp2std.exe from C:\Windows folder.)
(Kind of redundant since the hardware is simply missing...)
Updated BIOS to 2.27 in the hope that wouls fix it. - Did not work.
Surely it is possible this is a hardware failure. (I really hope not.)
Does anyone have the same issue or a possible fix for this?
    Thanks for any comments.
    Model: Z61M-9450-39U

Did you press Fn + (key assigned to turn on your webcam)?
