IiPad 2 has slowed down with ios8 copy paste is not working it hangs when you try to fill up forms ,Apple engineers you need to do something fast

Apple engineers do not participate here. Have you updated to iOS 8.1 which was just release yesterday? Have you done any other troubleshooting? If you haven't start here.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
Now close all apps. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If those three things made no difference, try this. Reset all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.
If all of that fails, restore the iOS software. Backup your iPad before you restore, then restore the backup when you are done. If that still doesn't help, restore your iPad as new and start all over again. Most purchased content can be downloaded again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID and as long as the content is still available in the store.

If you didn't back up the phone to iCloud or iTunes (on your computer) BEFORE attempting the update, the data will be lost.

  • ThinkPad hangs on boot - stuck at Thinkpad screen

QuestionI have a  type 2714-CTO R500 and I am not able to get past the Thinkpad logo or splash screen. It just hangs. Pressing the blue thinkvantage button does nothing. F12 likewise. Not able to get any sort of boot menu. Bootable CD in drive lights flash, no boot.
    Have tried:
    Reseating hard drive
Reseating Dimms, swapping and plugging in one at a time
Removed battery and held power switch down to discharge
Upon examining the system, I found a broken USB socket - the orientation tab is missing and the contacts were pushed to the bottom of the socket shorting out each other. I was able to separate them everything then worked just fine when I rebooted.
AnswerThis is a somewhat unlikely cause for a hung boot issue, and might also be circumvented by changing the boot order in BIOS to ensure USB was at the end of the list, although depending on which of the 4 pins on the USB connector were shorted out.  This can occur on ThinkPad T400, T500, R400 or R500 and potentially other models if the USB ports are damaged, causing pins to be shorted as in the photos below.
So if you get stuck on this screen->
Here is an example of a damaged USB port where the tab on the port in the lower portion of the photo has been broken.  If a USB cable or device were inserted, it is likely the pins will be bent and might short out, causing the boot hang symptoms described above.
To resolve, you can carefully straighten the pins after powering off the system, removing the AC adapter and battery.  Use a small flat blade screw driver, tweezers or micro needle nose pliers to carefully seperate and reform the contacts so they do not touch.    The system can then be restarted and should boot properly.
This is a work around, as this port can no longer be used.   A complete solution requires replacement of they system board, which may or may not be covered under normal warranty terms, depending upon how the connector was broken.

Thanks for this post We had 3x T400 Laptops (out of warranty) come in at the same time with the same problem, had us stumped for a while until we found this post. Exactly our problem on all 3 machines. Kind Regards,

  • Desktop Manager Will not Load. Hangs on splash screen when loading, then crashes

My desktop manager is not loading, and hangs whenever it is attempted to load. I have done a clean uninstall, removed rim registry entries, and did a fresh download and install 3 times with full shut downs between each attempt. I am running Windows 7 service pack 1 with an HP Laptop. It is an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC. Product Number LY080UA. I hope that is enough information, but I will give more if asked and informed how to gather such info.
When I right click on the Desktop Manager Icon, I choose to run as Admin. Once it loads the splash screen shows. After a little bit (4-6 seconds) a small Icon appears in my systems tab at the bottom right of my screen. This stays for a little while and then goes away. After this happens the Splash screen hangs, and get a black border around it. If I click on the Splash screen it grey out and says not responding, prompting windows to ask me if I want to wait for the program or close. If I choose to wait, it will sit there and do nothing. If I close it will prompt windows to "look for an error" but has not yet been able to return an answer.
When I log into safe mode, Desktop Manager loads, but does not work well as only a bare bones set of drivers are enabled. If I turn off all but the non-essential services off using services.msc it will load, but again the services needed for it to run and the services for windows to be fully functional are not on at all.
I have attempted to turn off all but the Desktop manager in the start up, using msconfig, but that does not help either.
I am at my wits end here, and would really like some help with this. It loads up (desktop manager) on my Desktop, but I am unable to log that mammoth box around with me while I travel.
Thank you for your time and efforts, I will be very grateful for any and all help.

I'm having the exact same problem here! I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64. Please help! This was posted a month ago.

  • Display has white and grey lines and blocks crisscrossing it and touch functions are not working properly on half the screen.

I dropped my iPhone 5S and it landed flat on it's face (it was in a protective case).  Since then my touch screen display is not working properly. I have white and grey lines and/or blocks crisscrossing the screen both horizontally and vertically.  Screen responds to touch in odd random ways, but rarely does what I am trying to do.  Can't call or receive calls because can't dial or answer phone via swipe. Can't text or read incoming texts. All functions seem to be working except that I can't access them because the touch screen is acting up. If I move the phone around it randomly accesses different apps or functions, but I have no control over them once the appear on the screen.  Touching screen just causes phone to randomly choose something else to open.  What have I damaged?

We cannot possibly tell. Obviously some hardware inside. Take it in to an Apple Store. They will offer you the opportunity to swap the phone for $269 in the US. Prices vary by country.

  • Touch Pad, mouse not working on lower 25% of screen

Have not seen this question, yet.   When on a web page, my double tap/left click does not work on about the lower 25% of the page.  The scroll arows work, but cannot click or type on the page if in the lower portion of the page.  After scrolling up to the middle of the page, then I can click a box or type info with no problem.  My drivers are up to date.   For example could not click on POST unless I scroll the box up an inch or so.
Using windows 7 and have all service packs & updated.

    Hi Rwischmann,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read that your HP Notebook and the touchscreen not working correctly. Here is a fix from Microsoft to resolve the Touchscreen.
he touchscreen shouldn't need recalibration, but if you or another user has recalibrate it, it may affect the performance of the touchscreen.
Here’s how to check or restore the factory default calibration using a keyboard or mouse:
Step 1: Press the Windows logo key Windows logo key + S to open Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search Search charm.)
Step 2:Type Control Panel, then use the arrow keys to highlight Control Panel, and press Enter.
    (Or, click Control Panel.)
Step 3:In Control Panel, use the arrow keys to highlight Hardware and Sound and press Enter.
    (Or, click Hardware and Sound.)
Step 4:Under Tablet PC Settings use the arrow keys to highlight Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input, and press Enter.
(Or, click Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input.)
Step 5:Use the Tab key to select the Reset button, and press Enter.
    (Or, click Reset.)
If the Reset button is grayed out, your Surface touch calibration is still at factory settings and you can move to Solution 3.
Step 6:Use the Tab key to select Yes, press Enter, and then follow the instructions on the screen.
(Or, click Yes, and then follow the instructions on the screen.)
Step 7:After Surface removes recalibration data, test touch input again.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • Wi-Fi not working a few months after screen replacement.

    Hi all,
Recently bought a used iPhone, and the previous (original) owner had the screen replaced after dropping it. Apparently, the phone was working absolutely perfect after the screen was replaced, and then a few months after, the wi-fi stopped working. Everything else in the phone is working perfectly fine.
I'm guessing this is probably just a loose connection or something, but could someone give me a possible cause?
    Thanks!

My wife had the same problem with iPad 2 after upgrade to 6.0. Don't know if it was important but she had NOT upgraded to iTunes 10.7. I ended up doing a DFU restore and then restored software (still IOS 6.0) and then a iCloud restore and everything was fine with the WiFi . Restoring all music and photos now.
