T500 users, what's your battery life?

Here's my specs:
T500 2.4ghz w/ 4gb ram, purchased october 09
Battery: 9-cell
Graphics: "energy saving" mode
Life:  only  2.5 hours battery life, three if I'm lucky.
Usage: just have about 10 tabs open on chrome, no flash or anything
What are you guys getting? Other reviews claimed people getting about six hours. I did the battery gauge reset earlier today, it calculated a max of a little less than three hours as well.
My friend's t400 2.2ghz (with 9-cell) seemed to last for six hours easily, possibly more than that.

I ended up stumbling upon this thread ( http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-7-Discussion/Battery-Life-Decrease-In-Windows-7/td-p/168772/page... )and have the same symptoms of the fan constantly running among other things.
I'm updating power manager to see if it'll fix things, otherwise I'm getting tempted to cave and buy something else.

  • What is your battery life?

    After full charge, it says
    Usage: ~5hrs
    Standy By: ~1Day
    until the battery dies.
Notes: Wifi is on all the time and mostly used for Safari. Couple of calls a day. Sometimes randomly turning it on to look at the clock or just look at the menu.
Is this about right? What is your stats?

someone mentioned that the iphone will notify you at 20% and 10%. my phone doesn't do that actually I have noticed that my batter will only go down a little more than half then all of the sudden it will display the red battery saying the battery is completely drained and I can turn on the phone. My battery life is great but this really frustrates me since i can't really tell when to charge my phone. any solutions? (im using version 1.1.2)

  • To MBA 2013 i5 users: What is the battery life?

    Hey guys,
there are some hot discussions over battery life in MBA 2013 with i7. I personally own one and I can say that 12 hours is nothing close to the truth. Battery life can reach that long when WiFi is turned off, but web browsing is the most basic activity on a computer these days. My MBA gets around 7 hours of battery life when using Internet connection and I feel cheated by Apple.
I'm thinking of exchanging my model to i5 one, but haven't out whether battery life is significantly better or it's same kind of gimmick.

several reports indicate (from reputable testing sites) that 12 hours on the I5 13" are understated, and that 2 hardcore tests indicated just under 13 HOURS, or a hair OVER 13 hours
I have an I5 13", and I dont say with difficulty that batt. life is, in short, crazy / shockinginly fantastic.
My older 2011 Macbook Air i just sold, ......it literally blows my old AIR out of the water powerwise, and writing 1.1GIG Photoshop to the HD, was id say about 40% faster from full install between the 2. (old and new).
I run nonstop youtube (white noise) in the background.....(on firefox, which is a battery hog compared to Safari), and typing, and opening PDF files.........under those conditions, im getting about nearly 12 hours batt. life,  of the 2 times ive actually clocked it.
Ive compared my I5 next to my friend Stefans I7 13", i did same same testing for 5 hours, and his was 28% LESS batt life

  • What happens to battery life if alarm is not shut down?

If the ipod alarm is set and you don't notice it, what happens to the ipod? Will alarm be quiet after a few minutes? Will alarm not stop?
what happens to battery life if alarm is not turned off?

Not odd...On Verizon if it is not set up, you will hear a recording that says "Im sorry, but the party you are trying to reach has a vm box that has not been set up yet". It will show as missed if the phone is on, and will appear in the log if the phone is on. If the phone is powered off, the call does not show in the log when turned back on. It will appear as if it never happened. You will only know if you get a VM (if its set up) or if the person tells you, hey I called you!

  • 3GS Upgraded to OS 3.1.2, How is your battery life now?

I upgraded to 3.1 only to find my battery life halved to around 4-6 hrs depending on use.
I then upgraded to 3.1.2 hoping this would be fixed, but no luck.
I use this for work but it wont even last 1 8hr business day without a charge.... not impressed!
How is your battery life since upgrading to 3.1.2?
Is Apple working on fixing this some time soon, or do I start looking for a new "non-iPhone" phone?

My battery life has been just fine with all OS versions; no change with 3.1.2

Many of us have no problems with battery life. So I'm not sure there's anything general for Apple to fix -- but your iPhone may need attention. Why not take it to to a Genius Bar?

To be honest, I would only plug it in when necessary. On my older 2009 MBP, I plug it in at night and it lasts me a solid 5-6 hours, if it needs to be plugged in during the day, I usually do it with about 2-3 hours left.

  • What is your battery capacity loss?

    Hello people.
I'm just wondering what is your battery capacity loss ? Mine is about 16% after 14 months, so about 1.14%/month. I've been moving my laptop quite frequently

  • What is average battery life everyone is getting for the Zen Mic

I just got my Zen Micro last Thursday. I'm concern about the battery life. I haven't fully tested the battery yet, but I'm estimating that I will only get about 6-7 hours for it. The advertised time was suppose to be as much as 2 hours. Now I know that depends on your usage (e.g. volume, bitrate of the file, play mode, etc.). What are other people getting? Thanks.

My last test, I tried to be as natural as possible. That is: back light is on; shuffle mode is on; eq is on; volume is normal (at 4 to 6); I skip or go back to tracks; I fast foward; the contrast is at 50 percent; average bitrate (from 28 to 360); smart sound off; and other minor things that I can't remember. That test gave me only 7.5 hours.
I think that is pretty modest usage. Any average mp3 user would do the same thing. Yet, I only got 7.5 out of the possible 2. I don't like the sounds of that.
I'm running another test right now with the same conditions above, and I'll let you guys know what I get.

  • HT4623 Are other IPAD 5 users experiencing problems with battery life?

The battery on my IPAD is quite disappointing in terms of its longevity.  I am using the iPAD in my studies and am surprised that during a lecture day I am normally having to charge it at lunchtime.
Are other users experiencing similar issues?

    FYI
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Another very good set of tips to extend your battery life

    ALL,
From any screen press and HOLD the Home Button until the Task Manager appears.  Then touch the words Task Manager.  At the top of the next screen you will now see 4 choices.  Lightly slide your finger from right to left and drag the entire 4 choices to the left and you will see Help...touch it.
Wa-La, there it is, Tips to Extend Battery Life.
Hope you like it and that it helps you.  I particularly like tips 1 and 4, how about you.

  • Give me your battery life specs

Got the iPhone 4, not quite as happy with it has I had expected to be. Considering switching to the TB. I hear mized things about the battery--both that it is poor, and also that there are ways to significantly increase battery life. Please give me your specs--how heavily do you use your TB and how long do you get out of a single charge?

Everyone's usage is different. For telephone calls only, it is "OK." As a media player, the stock battery is just "OK." Add Internet access, it gets challenging. You can significantly extend the battery life by (a) turning off 4G, (b) spending more money as was probably planned by getting the extended battery which should solve most battery issues entirely. If you turn off 4G, people report life similar to that of a droid x.
While there are people that say the phone lasts them through the day, make no mistake, the battery is very poor. HTC plays a regular game by seeing how low capacity of a battery it can put into the phone (this 4G battery actually has 10% LESS power capacity than the 3G Droid X). Like a bullet to the brain that this wouldn't be a great idea.
Despite all of this, if I had a choice between the iPhone and the Thunderbolt, I wouldn't even consider it a choice. You don't always need 4G but having it is beneficial. If the iPhone isn't for you, I'd say that you'll love having all the neat stuff for Android and not dealing with iTunes, DRM and Apple's limits of the OS for transferring files. If you like the screen size (I do) for text entry, etc. then it's an easy choice right now.
First, how can you turn off 4G? I thought there wasn't an option for that?
4G isn't an issue for me---I don't need it. If I could easily turn if off, it would make the TB a lot more appealing to me. I guess what I am really trying to decide is do I:
    a) get the TB and deal with poor battery life, even though the phone is really more than i need
    b) get the Samsung Fascinate even though it is very buggy
    c) cross my fingers and wait until the end of the month until the Incredible 2 is released.
To do option (c) I would have to return my iphone, revert back to my previous plan and reactivate my bb, and wait another few weeks. Certainly doable but also a hassle.

  • What about this battery life???!!!

Has anyone come up with an optional battery. Even with the Advanced Killer, my battery doesn't last an entire day. And I don't talk on the phone much at all for it to go dead like it does..Help!

The great one strikes again! I love my HTC extended battery. Not like we have tons if accessories to purchase with this phone. May as well enjoy life like me and not worry about battery life. I'm a heavy user on WiFi mostly. This battery will get my heavy use to the end of the day plus a pinch more. Just in time for Mr Phone to charge when I get my charge sleeping.
