  • Will Adobe CS6 work on a laptop with screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels?

I'm looking at this laptop -
    HP ProBook 15.6-Inch Laptop 2.1 GHz AMD A8-5550M Processor, 8GB DDR3L, 500GB HDD, Windows 7 Professional and a 7200 RPM drive.
All the specs are great except for the screen resolution, which Adobe says should be 1280X900.  So I would love to know if CS6 would still work on this laptop.
    Thanks for your help!!
    Dalevideo

Not only is the screen resolution below minimum requirements, the rest is also very underpowered and slow for CS6.
If CS6 installs, you will not be able to see critical parts of the user interface, making you work in the blind.

  • HP Mini Ability To View Win 8 Metro Under Its MAX Screen Resolution When Released :(

This is just a question and I know it has got to be posted many, many time somewhere. I absolutely love the Mini and when I had some issues after my purchase a few months ago, the fantastic support agent even said when the actual Win 8 is released,  it will be so cool on it. Well, one major problem I never caught. While the Mini Desktop portion of Win 8 Consumer preview works great, the HP Mini ability to view Win 8 Metro under Its MAX screen resolution is not possible. Now I know HP does not support the consumer preview as of yet but am I just out of luck by the release date? Will there be some kind of patch or ability for current Mini buyers to use Win 8 Metro when released? I asked this question in a Win 8 forum and the response I got was just that Notebooks are not designed for these kinds of features and are simple in nature. I agree but that is backward having a small device that will not be able to use Windows 8 except on its Desktop and furthermore, something tells me that Minis after 2013 will?  Help....

Anyway, I know there is nothing that can be done about it-its just frustrating knowing that in about 7 months, the upgrade will not mean much to these minis and pretty much a new unit within 12 months of an OS release. I doubt MS will lower the resolution rate but the 600 is right at that line for many programs as well. I never would have thought-I am just stuck and was hoping the 210 would be compatible to an OS that is supposed to be friendly with the smaller devices-now this is ironic.

  • VirtualBox Max Screen Resolution

I've installed Windows 10 Technical Preview in VirtualBox on my Mac and everything went very smooth and fast! But I have a few problems if anyone can please help me.
    1. Guest Additions won't install. "Isn't compatible with this version of Windows" I tried to install via CMD also, but VirtualBox does not see it installed (if it did)
    2. Because of the first problem, the VM's max screen resolution is 1600x1200, while my Mac's Thunderbolt Display is 2560x1440
I've installed Windows 8.1 Preview before and it worked, so I think it's a problem with Windows.

Both of you must work with VirtualBox to resolve this peculiarity.  VirtualBox is not a Microsoft product and is not supported by Microsoft.
Oracle has sole responsibility for support of their products and the VirtulaBox website is found @

The appropriate forum for discussing this situation is in the VirtualBox forums found @

The VirtualBox Guest Additions are also the sole responsibility of Oracle, not Microsoft!

  • Screen change from 1366 x 768 to 1920 x 1080, Sllekbook-15 b050sw

    Hi!,
My screen is damaged and it needs a replacement. I was wandering is it possible to install full HD screen instead of original 1366 x 768 screen. I found appropriate screen (same size, 40 pin, will fit perfectly) on eBay but I'm not sure it's compatible or not due to resolution change. My laptop is Sleekbook-15 b050sw with 3rd gen Intel and HD4000 on board along with GeForce GT630M, 6GB RAM (2GB for graphics). I know that I can connect 1080p external monitor over HDMI and everything works properly.
    Thanks and regards.

The issue is not so much the motherboard as the flex cable.
    Your Manual
Since no 1920 x 1080 screen was offered on your laptop we do not know if the cable will carry a full HD signal. There is no other part you can use if it does not work. So it is entirely a gamble to try it.

  • Max screen resolution different under lion?

okay, is it just me, or does a 4 year old 20" imac have a smaller max resolution under lion than it did before?  it's kind of hard to tell if everything is bigger now, but without doubt all the icons on my desktop are a LOT bigger than they were before the upgrade.  of course, i went into system prefs - displays and the resolution is set at 1680 x 1050, which is the max choice.  i just can't remember what it was set at before.

Screen resolutions are determined by your graphics hardware, not Lion per se.  However, the display settings were changed on my Mac mini for the HDMI port after the Lion upgrade, and it keeps resizing all of my windows for minimum resolution on startup, so I'd venture to say that Lion has a few bugs regarding screen resolution that are in need of bug-fix updates.

  • Max. screen resolution of secure desktop

    Hi there.
I have access to the notebook at my office via Secure Global Desktop. Normally my notebook has a screen resolution of 1280x1024. If I try to access it with this resolution from home I indeed can log on but I only get a blue screen (for about one second I can see the icons on my notebook's desktop).
Using a resolution of 1024x768 everything seems to work fine. But this resolution is too low to work with so that I would have to switch it every evening when I leave the office (to ensure that I could have access in case of emergency).
Is there really a limit concerning the screen resolution? Does anyone know anything about that? Or if not, how would it be possible to access my notebook with the higher resolution!? What would I have to configure in the administration area?
    Thanks for every hint.
    Regards,
    Stephan

I work with 1280x800 and it works perfectly.
One thing you can try is to increase the memory assigned to java to see if it helps.
    /opt/tarantella/bin/tarantella config edit --tuning-jvm-initial <MB>
    /opt/tarantella/bin/tarantella config edit--tuning-jvm-scale <percent>
    /opt/tarantella/bin/tarantella config edit--tuning-jvm-max <MB>
I normally set the initial to 60% of the systems memory, the scale to 150 and the max to 80% of the systems memory.
I this won't help is will make the performance a bit better if the jvm memory was set very low.

  • Max screen resolution LCD Satellite pro M10

hi, sorry for my poor english, my question is:
The max internal LCD resolution for the satellite pro M10 notebook is 1024x768? excluse te superior resolution with scrolling?
I Have read in the tecnical specific of my notebook that the internal max resolution is 1280x1024 is not really?
    thanks

    Hi
As far as I know the display resolution depends on a display controller
I found this information in the user manual. The following models are available:
    -14.1 XGA with 1024 x 768
    -15.0 XGA with 1024 x 768
    -15.0 SXGA+ with 1400 x 1050
    -15.0 UXGA with 1600 x 1200
I think in this case your unit has a 14.1 or a 15.0 XGA display controller. Well, in my opinion its all right with your notebook. Enjoy it :)
    Bye

  • Satellite A660-1FM - Max. screen resolution of external monitor

    Hi All,
This may be (probably) an easy questions to answer but I have a Satellite A660-1FM and want to use it with my Samsung Syncmaster (forgotten model) external screen. I grabbed an HDMI->DVI-D adapter, and all is well, but here is my question:
The toshiba specs page for my laptop (http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/product/Satellite-A660-1FM/1096013/toshibaShop/false/) shows an external resolution capability of:
    Max Resolution : 2,048 x 1,536
Max Refresh Rate : 100 Hz
    Non-interlaced resolution with max refresh rate : 1,920 x 1,200
But I get what I call standard HDMI resolution (not surprising I guess) when connected HDMI->DVI-D to my external monitor. I have previously run this monitor on my desktop at much high resolutions than 1080P, so the monitor is capable.
Just wondered what I'm missing here, or is it a case of the graphics card spec is higher than is possible to output from the laptop ?
    Thanks for any help
    Andy

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
As to native resolution of the external monitor - unsure how to find this - but it was running a with a lot higher res when it was connected to my old desktop (which has died and been replaced by this laptop)
R/E the adapter - My Samsung Syncmaster monitor has a DVI-D cable sticking out the back of it, so I needed to connect that to my laptop - either vga-> DVI-D or HDMI-DVI-D to make use of it.
The external monitor is currently running at 1680 x 1050 using the laptop HDMI output -> HDMI-DVI-D adapater -> external monitor.
Before my desktop died, using the same external monitor I was running at 1680 x (guessing a bit here) 2048 ish (really sure I had a greater y res, this 1050 lark is really squishy).. in any case, the Y resolution was much much much better than 1050.
But, according to the specification for this laptop, it can output 2048 x 1536 to an external device (How, the HDMI and VGA outptu cannot go that high right ?)
So, I'm trying to figure out how to get the resolution on the laptop spec onto my external monitior, which has more than handled this resolution before my old gaming desktop died.
Thanks again for the reply - I hope this makes my question clearer.
    Cheers
    Andy

  • 1366 by 768 resolution?

Can I set resolution to 1366 by 768?
I built recently a HTPC and was trying to connect it to my tv. But I was never able to get TV's native resolution. I only was able to get 1360 by 768, which cuts off menus below.
How can I set resolution to 1366 by 768?

A resolution of 1366x768 can be made to work on a Nvidia card with Nvidia's proprietary drivers by copy-pasting the following into /etc/X11/xorg.conf :
    Section "ServerLayout"
    Identifier "Layout0"
    Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0
    InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
    InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer"
    Option "Xinerama" "0"
    EndSection
    Section "Files"
    EndSection
    Section "InputDevice"
    # generated from default
    Identifier "Mouse0"
    Driver "mouse"
    Option "Protocol" "auto"
    Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
    Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
    EndSection
    Section "InputDevice"
    # generated from default
    Identifier "Keyboard0"
    Driver "kbd"
    EndSection
    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Monitor0"
    VendorName "Unknown"
    ModelName "DFP-0"
    HorizSync 28.0 - 67.0
    VertRefresh 50.0 - 75.0
    ModeLine "1366x768" 85.50 1366 1440 1584 1792 768 771 777 795 +hsync +vsync
    Option "DPMS"
    EndSection
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "Device0"
    Driver "nvidia"
    VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
    BoardName "ION"
    EndSection
    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "Screen0"
    Device "Device0"
    Monitor "Monitor0"
    DefaultDepth 24
    Option "UseEdidDpi" "FALSE"
    Option "ModeDebug" "true"
    # Option "ExactModeTimingsDVI" "true"
    # Option "ModeValidation" "NoWidthAlignmentCheck, NoDFPNativeResolutionCheck"
    # Option "ModeValidation" "AllowInterlacecModes, NoTotalSizeCheck,AllowNon60HzDFPModes,NoEdidMaxPClkCheck,NoVertRefreshCheck,NoHorizSyncCheck,NoDFPNativeResolutionCheck,NoVesaModes,NoEdidModes,NoXServerModes,NoPredefinedModes,NoMaxSizeCheck,NoVirtualSizeCheck,NoMaxPclkCheck,NoVertRefreshCheck"
Option "ModeValidation" "NoWidthAlignmentCheck, NoDFPNativeResolutionCheck, NoVesaModes, NoEdidModes, NoXServerModes, AllowNonEdidModes, NoPredefinedModes"
    # Option "UseEDID" "False"
    Option "TwinView" "0"
    Option "metamodes" "1366x768 +0+0"
    SubSection "Display"
    Depth 24
    EndSubSection
    EndSection
If this xorg.conf does not work with a VGA cable, it can be fixed by adding to your current xorg.conf the line,
    Option "ModeDebug" "true"
If your xorg.conf is the one from above, it already has this line. Then looking at /var/log/Xorg.0.log for the polarity the monitor expects. It should be something like this:
    [ 1554.700] (II) NVIDIA(GPU-0): H/V Polarity : +/+
Then editing the modeline with the polarity. For example, if the polarity the monitor expects is,
    H/V Polarity : -/+
You would change this part of the modeline:
    +hsync +vsync
    into:
    -hsync +vsync

  • How can i get 1366 x 768 resolution (720p) from t42 laptop?

    Hi,
I'm trying to connect my thinkpad t42 laptop using a vga cable to my samsung lcd tv. my lcd tv has a native resolution of 1366 x 768. However, when i go to display properties in my video setting, i can only select 1024 x 768 for my lcd tv  (basically i only get 4:3 resolution options, i dont get any 16:9 resolution options). i've updated all my drivers - dont all windows and thinkvantage updates but absolutely cannot get the output resolution via vga cable to my lcd tv to be 1366 x 768.
Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone had any luck solving this issue?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Did you check Samsung's support web site to see if the provide a device driver (it may be called a monitor profile information file) for your Samsung LCD TV with 1366×768 (720p) resolution?  If so, did installing that help?

  • Howto get quad G5 to recognize 1366 x 768 resolution?

    hi,
for a project we're using the panasonic PT-DW7000U-K projector, which has a native resolution of 1366 x 768. sadly our G5 doesn't show this resolution in the display preferences.
how would i go about having the G5 to display this resolution?
or is it also related to the graphics card?
    thanks

  • Satellite Pro A30 - 1024 X 768 screen resolution only

My Satellite Pro A30 will only run at a screen resolution of 1024 X 768 can I increase this ? I did not see any options in the display settings or the BIOS

    Hi Carl,
I believe that 1024 X 768 is the maximum availavle screen size for your A30. You can, of course reduce this to a smaller value if you wish but you will not be able to increase it.
The value is set in the deisplay properties available from the control panel, or by right clicking on the desktop area and selecting 'properties'. The value is set by the slider in the lower left hand corner of the window.

If you are using the MS client, v2, you should be able to size the window correctly in the settings/preferences. But, you are correct that the MBA screen is true 16:9 vs. the Windows which is probably 4:3

  • Screen resolution and published output

    Hi Gurus
I am recording content using 5.5 using a laptop with resolution of 1366 x 768.
Created a blank project with resolution of 1024 x 768.  When I publish this and then select Yes at the prompt "...Do you wish to view the output?" it requires quite a bit of scrolling down to see the Playback Control (as you might expect).
Created a blank project with resolution of 800 x 600.  When I publish this and then select Yes at at the prompt "...Do you wish to view the output?" it requires less scrolling down to see the Playback Control (as you might also expect).
Here's the bit that I don't get.  When I open the .swf files directly, they both "size" to fit the browser window and no scrolling is required to see the Playback Control.  The only difference, of course, is that the lower resolution capture has less screen area covered.  I am using IE7.
I had expected that the output when opening the .swf files would be the same as when I view after publish - kind of threw me there for a while.
Can someone kindly shed some light on this?
    Thanks
    Lynton123

Viewing the published files by launching the HTM page that has the SWF embedded will display the SWF at a fixed height and width that is set to the same height and width found in your project.
Launching the SWF directly by double-clicking it will cause it to be displayed in the web browser but it will maximise or shrink to whatever height or width is available.  This is just the way that SWFs work in browsers when not embedded in a HTM wrapper.
So why wouldn't you want it to always work this way?  Well, just launching the SWF is NOT going to give you all the functionality you need in many cases.  For example, any functionality like SCORM or right-mouse-click that depends on JavaScript will not be available to you unless you launch via the HTM file.  Secondly, resizing the SWF content to a different height/width ration than what it was created at will inevitably sacrifice some crispness in the output.  This is especially evident with software screenshots for tutorials and simulations.
