T510 + passive DP adapter - IBM T221 = Not even detected

Hi there.  I've got a new T510 with the Nvidia card, and I'm trying to set up my exotic IBM T221 DG-3 with it.
The T221, if you're not familiar with it, was nicknamed Big Bertha by the industry when it came out in 2001 - it has a maximum resolution of 3840x2400 @ 41 Hz through four single-link DVI cables.  It can do 1920x1200 @ 41 Hz or 3840x2400 @ 13 Hz (17 Hz overclocked) with just a single cable, and 3840x2400 @ 20 Hz (35 Hz overclocked) with two DVI cables using spanning.  With multiple cables the computer just sees them as separate monitors, but with a single cable it's no different than any other DVI monitor.
I've run it on my desktop with an NVIDIA 7950 GT, Quadro FX 1300, and an ATI 5770.  All of them could handle a single cable at max resolution fine, even though it's way past the stated max resolution spec of any of them.  The problem is bandwidth, not the max resolution - so lowering the refresh rate to just 13 Hz gives plenty of bandwidth for super-high resolutions on any card.
That refresh rate might sound stupidly slow - but believe me, for static things like photo editing and browsing the web it's fine.  Gaming isn't really feasible of course, but the bigger problem for that is input lag.  I have a Sony GDM FW-900 for that anyway.
My problem is that with my T510 and a passive DisplayPort to DVI adapter, when I hook up the T221 it doesn't even wake up from its sleep mode and the T510 can't detect it at all.  It's got its own bulit-in drivers, so I know that's not the problem.  I don't have another DVI monitor to test my DP-DVI adapter, but that's definitely something I need to do.  Still, I feel like a passive adapter is unlikely to have any problems.
So I'm trying to figure out a few things with troubleshooting it.  Is the Nvidia card for the T510 capable of outputting the DVI/HDMI signal through the DP socket?  Everything I've read says it can.
I know the stated max resolution for the single link is 1920x1200, but that assumes a 60 Hz refresh rate which I don't expect to get.  I would have figured that the display would have shown up even if that were the problem.
Can anyone help me in diagnosing the problem?
Thanks,
Ben

ben - welcome to the forum!
i haven't used a T221 in ages but you might have better luck with the mini dock+ 3 for your system.   it has two single-link DVI-D outputs and might be able to span two connections to that display to get 3840x2400 @ 20Hz.
having not tried this myself i cannot speak to its success.   it's worth a try at least -- especially if purchased through a reseller with a good return policy.   and, who knows, you might decide to keep it.
definitely keep us posted on your outcome.   i'd be very interested to know if this works.

My Macbook pro will not connect to an external monitor after moving it. It has been running on this same monitor for 8 months. I switched to a new Desk last night, after hooking it up, the Macbook Pro would not even detect the external monitor. It was only showing the Macs monitor in Display. It did not even have where you could "Detect Display" available. Is there an update that I may have missed. I have tested all the Monitor connections with another laptop they all work.

If nothing displays but you hear normal startup sounds, then it's possible this is a video issue, and you should take it to an Apple store or AASP.

Load the airport utility for windows.. it has several parts.. the key one is bonjour for windows which helps windows find apple network devices.
The TC should also be setup with names that windows can use.. ie short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
So Fred Blog's Airport Time Capsule
Is not a valid windows name.
    TCgen5 is.

It seems you have some defective updates in the WSUS catalog.
My last observation will be that this logfile is no longer sorted chronologically... which really makes it impossible to properly analyze.
To wit: These two entries are out of order, and 24 hours apart.

  • My Ac adapter Mac Book Pro G4 shorted. Got a new one and no reaction. Not even from the light. What now?  Could the laptop have gotten damaged inside?  Please,  what? KK

Hallo,  my AC adapter Mac Book Pro G4 shorted.  Got a new one, and the laptop did not react,  not even the snooze light came on. Is it possible that it got damaged inside?  Which part, in that event, got damaged,  and   where do I look inside the laptop for which part to replace?  Did anyone of you had similar experience?

If you keep getting a 'red' message it means that the HDD is faulty and will have to be replaced.  You will have to format the new HDD in Disk Utility>Erase and then install the OSX and your data from Time Machine.
    Ciao.

  • Improperly ejected external hard drive is not displaying on computer...not even in Disk Utility

My external hard drive has been repeatedly ejected improperly and now it is not displaying on my computer, not even in disk utility.  How do I re-mount this external hard drive?  In the past when this has happened, all I had to do was go to Disk Utility or use DiskWarrior to fix the issue but now it won't even show up in either of these apps.
    Any help would be appreciated
2008 MacBook Pro 10.9.3, WD My Studio 1 TB External HD

    From the menu bar, select
 ▹ System Preferences ▹ Energy Saver ▹ Power Adapter
and uncheck the box labeled Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible, if it's checked.
If the drive has more than one interface (USB, FireWire, Thunderbolt, eSATA), try one of the other interfaces.
Check that the data cable is securely inserted at both ends.
    Try a different cable.
If you're connecting the drive through a hub, connect it directly to a built-in port on the Mac.
If you're connecting it directly, try a different port.
Disconnect all other devices on the bus, or as many as possible.
Test the drive with another Mac. Test another drive with this Mac.
If the drive is bus-powered, but has an AC adapter, connect the adapter.
Start up in Recovery mode and launch Disk Utility. Is the drive recognized?
Start up in Safe Mode and test.
    Reset the NVRAM.
    Reset the System Management Controller.
If the drive doesn't work under any of the above conditions, and if another drive does work with the same Mac, then the drive has failed. You may be able to salvage the mechanism by removing it from the enclosure and installing it in another one, or in a drive dock.

  • How to Create and Use MQ Adapter(IBM MQ Series) in BPEL

    Hi,
I am using Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.3.
I am very new to the Usage of MQ Adapter(IBM MQ Series) in BPEL.
what is the procedure to create our own Message Queues(i.e., MQ Series)?
It would be great if anybody share the idea of how to create the MQ and usage of same in BPEL Workflows.
is it mandatory to install websphere to create the MQ?
If possible, share the related docs for the same.
    Any suggestions/views will be great.
    Cheers,
    Balaji
    Edited by: user580285 on Nov 4, 2008 5:44 AM

    Hi,
Kindly refer to the BPEL Dev Guide and in that please refer to the Appendix which contains MQ Series Adapter.
For this you need to provide the details like: -
MQ Server Host, port, queue manager name etc. Also you need not to install IBM Websphere MQ, you can work on it remotely as well.

  • Lightning to 30-pin Adapter IPod Out Not Supported?

I like many people on a speaker dock and to put it bluntly it wasn't cheap. I can't see myself getting any money for it and it's probably not even a year old (though manufactured in 2010). Anyway I was hoping while not cheap itself the adapter would allow the iPhone 5 I plan to buy to function with this dock but the terms iPod out seems to refe to audio so am I correct in assuming they won't be compatible?

The ipod out feature is where the phone renders a video of the music library to be shown on an external display like the navigation screen of your car.
Since there is no video output on the adapter this feature fails.  It's all about VIDEO not being supported.
A simple dock that needs audio will work fine.  The adapter will work for any application that doesn't involve video output from the iphone.
Ipod out compatible car kits and home theatre integration is extremely rare.  Very few devices implement it.  Those that do may still function for audio output and charging the phone but you will not see anything on the screen anymore.

  • I'm sure your'e going to tell me I just need a new phone but maybe there is hope for my iphone 4.  It will not charge past 66% (it's not the charger), it turns off when unplugged, and it will not even let me turn my wi fi to the on possition.  Help!

'm sure your'e going to tell me I just need a new phone but maybe there is hope for my iphone 4.  It will not charge past 66% (it's not the charger), it turns off when unplugged, and it will not even let me turn my wi fi to the on possition.  Help!

    Hi there 8472kck!
I have some information for you that can help you troubleshoot this issue a little further. That information can be found right here:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
and that information comes from this article:

  • Sender SFTP Adapter channel is not polling for files

    Hello All,
Couple of SFTP sender adapter channel was failing in Developent system with u201Cdirectory listingu201D error. All SFTP sender channels stopped polling for the files in Developent system  . We were unable to find the reason for adapter failure, Hence we restarted the j2ee server and adapter started polling files. Later we are facing the same issue in Quality system. THe adapter cahnnel is not polling files in Quality system even.
All lean tool adapters were showing the u201CHost key was not accepted erroru201D on 27th of Feb . As per the other channel trace, the time stamp of last successful polling and error time stamp of lean tool sender channels are exactly same
Eventhough two communication channels access the same SFTP adapter, one communicationchannel is getting 'Host key was not accepted error' but in other communication channel, files are getting picked.
Please let me know the solution if you have come accross this issue previously
    Regards,
    DilipKumar

    Hi Mike,
    Thanks for your reply.
Its not a standard SFTP adapter rather its a C-BURGER SFTP adapter.
Sorry I did not mention this in my previous post

  • FTP adapter Batching is not inserting records in to  multiple tables

    Hi,
    Env : 11.1.1.5
We have a scenario where we are reading file with the FTP adapter. As the file can be huge, we are using batching option with a batch size of 2000 records. The records in the file is in the Order and Lines format. In Bpel i am inserting those records in database. I have one Db adapter having two tables Orders and lines with a 1:M relation.
Now in the positive test case scenario, Bpel is able to read the file , split it in to batches and successfully inserts the records in the tables (Orders and Lines).
Now when i am testing a negative test case, i have violated the Primary key constraint in one of the record. Now ideally the batch which encountered the issue and failed, none of the records should get inserted in the Orders and Lines table, but that is not happening. In our case, no records are getting inserted to the lines table (which is as expected) but few records are getting inserted in to the Order table of the failed batch.
F.Y.I : Number of Records in the batch can be less then Batch Size.
    Any clue on this?
    Thanks.

    Hi Jaap,
    thanks for your reply...
Sorry for being a little unclear ...
I have followed the instrunctions in the on-line help of OWB , and :
    1) have imported four code tables into a source module . The tables are in an Oracle RDBMS 10g .
2)I have created manually a table - using the OWB client tool - which consisted of some of the columns found in the four tables .
3)I have inserted a Join Operator in order to correlate the four table columns with the columns of the target module.
4)I have defined the Join condition of the the four table columns. In my first post , unintenionally I have written that I removed the Join Operator. I meant the Join Condition in order to make sure that the join condition isn't the reason that the records are not inserted....
5)I have validated and generated the mapping without any errors - not even warnings.
6)I have selected Project->Deployment Manager and I selected the OWB_RUN user - which is the Runtime Repository owner.
7)I have selected the objects to deploy - the mapping , the one table I created in the target module. The deployment has succedded , and the table was created but no records are found in it.
Now , is there a possibility that this problem is caused by absence of the privileges to insert the rows...?
How can I check that the source tables are filled on the registered location of your source module?
    Another basic question...
I have created a Runtime Repository owner - called owb_run- using the Runtime Repository Assistant . I use this user in order to deploy the mapping and the new table. I want -and it is created- that table in another schema (user his_dw) - even another database in the same server. Should I run the Runtime Repository owner in this schema (his_dw)???
    Thanks , again a lot
    Simon

  • Linksys WIP330 does not even see Airport Extreme

    Strange thing:
every device (even some cheap siemens sl75 wlan phones) does see my new airport extreme wlan.
except the new voip linksys wip330. this device does not even see the network.
SSID ist visible, tried different modes, setting channel manually etc.
any hints? it's really strange. linksys support isn't able to help.

Make sure the Extreme is using a wireless name that is SMB compliant.. ie short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Start with no security on the Extreme.. can the linksys adapter see the wireless now.. this is a brief test..
No luck test on fixed wireless channels.. 2.4ghz .. try channel, 11, 9, 6.
Still no luck it is not compatible.. it is often a driver issue so download the latest available.. make sure XP is sp3 and fully updated.
No luck.. well it is end game.. there is nothing else you can do to fix it. Not all wireless works with all other wireless.
Get an express.. and use it as a wireless bridge for the XP computer so all it needs to cope with is ethernet.. !!
If it works at any stage.. immediately put security back but WPA & WPA2 is probably the best you can do.. do not use WPA2 personal..
Make sure any password is pure alphanumeric mix of case and numbers.

I'm having problem with the AQ adapter (ADT) sample that comes with the SOA 10g install.
I am running 10.1.3.4 on XP, using Oracle XE.
I can use the sample sql script to enque and deque. However, when I deploy the sample ADT (BPEL project), I see errors in the opmn log. The BPEL instance is not even created.
I see another post with similar question, Re: Debugging BPEL when using Oracle AQ but no answer.

thanks for the reply. I did look into that post, and couldn't found where to set that option either.
However, my PC was rebooted a few times today (I didn't change anything with BPEL), and I just re-ran the test now, that problem disappeared! It is working fine now.

  • Help please, the leds my t61 turn on though not even the BIOS appears on the screen

The title says all. After installing (dont know if it really have something to do) a modem usb and shutting down the laptop, the case, to transport it, i open it and the leds where turn on but no image appears. Then, i decide to force the reiniciate of the laptop, turn it off, and then push the power buttom, but, again, only the leds turn on but no image appears, not even the BIOS.
Can someone help me please? Googling i've find two possible answers:
    i) whether the motherboard is dead. (Though, that will be totally unexpected, it was totally fine, and the laptop only have 1 year and a half. And yes, i have updated the BIOS, but that happent 2 weeks ago, and everything went fine)
ii) i have to reset the bios (dunno exactly how to do it. But i keep the live cd of the BIOS which i use to update it. That means that i should use it?
Further information: The fans are working, i can hear them.  No beep code.
    Thanks in advance.
    HELP!

Just found the solution.  It was justa matter of performing an electro static discharge, pushing the buttom 10 times in a 30 sec gap. Now sounds silly but im sure will work for someone. Just remenber to unplug any power alimentation to the laptop first, pushing the button in the right intervals (i had to try for half an hour to perform the right pattern) and when you first time boot it after doing these plug in the AC adapter, without the battery (it took me another half an hour for these)
    cheers.
