T5120 Jumpstart: unable to update system firmware for automatic reboot

Hi,
i'm trying to install a T5120 using the jumpstart framework. During the installation the new boot device should be set but instead i get the information that is was not possible to do so.

I browsed several boards and a huge set of websites but did find anything related.

At the first time yes, because i'm using an extra raid controller. That's because the environment 'boot-device' has to be set to a value different than 'disk'.
At the end of the jumpstart installation i have to type 'init 6' for reboot manually and the environment 'boot-device' has its default value. Thats why the server isn't boot and fall back to net boot.

Unable to update adata firmware

hi
i have recently bought a 60gb sp900 adata ssd.
it firmware is older that 582 version available on the adata website so i tried to update the firmware.
i downloaded the needed tool from its website but running as root it doesn't list any drive for me to see.
i can see the drive in gparted and its unformatted. i dont think i need to format it so the drive is recognize for firmware update right?
have somebody successfully update this ssd or have info to guide me to solve this?
my guess is that is kernel issue (only a guess) cause i have recently see more bugs in new kernel versions.
like usb3 causing kernel ops with my new seagate desktop backup plus drive.
any help would be appreciated.

A quick google search indicates that this drive has a sandforce controller. I had one sandforce drive that I too had been unable to update the firmware on. I don't know what it was and I never figured it out. I eventually gave that machine/drive to my brother in law, and so ended up installing windows back on it. So at that point I was able to update it.
I do see that there are exe files on the Adata page though. I wonder if you could just make a freedos usb and run the executables from there?

Failure with one type of optical media and not another -- even from the same manufacturer -- is not unusual. DVDs and DVD-RWs use different dies that respond to different lasers in the optical drive. There are numerous other possibllities here.
It would not be unusual if the write laser for DVDs has burned out but the DVD-RW is still working becasue they use entirely separate lasers of a different intensity and frequency.
It may be the dyes used in a particular lot of Verbatim DVDs are not quite compatible with the DVD lasers in your drive (that is independent of DVD-RWs because they use different lasers.
Because of manufacturing variations your drive may burn other brands of DVD blanks flwlessly, but just won't work with Verbatim DVD blanks.
The DVD Read/Write lasers in your drive may simply be dirty.
Changing/updating the firmware in an optical can be done, but there is a definite risk of converting the optical drive into something useful only as a paper weight.
Try another brand of DVD blank or even a different model Verbatim. (I have seen cases where discs from a different manufacturing lot from the same vendor worked when another failed.)
If you are using DVD-R blanks try a DVD+R (there again different lasers are involved.
It is tricky to clean slot loading optical drives, but sometimes simply blowing them out with short bursts of canned air will work. Be sure the computer has been powered down for a good while and the optical drive is completely cooled. Then use only short bursts of air to prevent super cooled liquid air from getting into the drive. That can easily crack the lenses if you aren't careful.
If your Mac mini is less than a year old or you have Apple Care, get an appointment and take it to the Genius Desk of the nearest Apple store. If you aren't covered under warranty a bus powered external optical drive very probably costs less than the labor charge to diagnose the issue with your drive.

Unable to update my Office for mac 2011

I am unable to update my office for mac, it says that i have to type the product key.
Afterwords it tells me that it is wrong, but i am sure it is the right one.

Although you've stated that "i am sure it is the right one", I'd like to suggest you check on this again. Verify that you are typing the product key and that you are not typing one of these other numbers:
The CD set number
The disc assembly number
The part number
A 27-character PIN
The product key contains 25 characters. If there are 27 characters, then you have a PIN and not a product key. To obtain the 25-character product key, visit the following website, and use the 27-character PIN:

Connection lost while update new firmware for E71

When I update new firmware for my E71 by OVI suite but after finished download and its step to prepare to install then it lost connection.
I restart my phone for many times, then it allowed us to process for next, when i click next then suddenly its disconnect USB, when wait for a few minutes then its allowed process next.
Mean that, its always disconnect USB when i click next to installing. please see attach file.
Please help me, what happen with this installing new firmware?

Not quite sure from your post whether E71 still functional upon previous firmware and just fails to update every time that you try; if that is the case it may be easier to find another PC.

Unable to update system apps after credit card change

Hi all,
A store called (no name) an authorized Apple dealer for Thailand installed a new hard drive 1Tb on my Mac book pro (2009).
Now I am not able to update system app originally installed on my mac like iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand.
I get the message:

How can I get these system apps back to my mac?
To explain the problem:
my original hard drive started to get really slow and after a mavericks update.
All of a sudden Appstore has stopped working and wouldn't start up.
I was unable to do updates and also Pages , Numbers and terminal stopped working.
After googling what the problem could be I have learned that there might be a application causing the problem a third party app I later found out.
I went to the store and I asked if a upgrade with a new hard drive (1Tb) and memory (8gb) could solve the problem, the said yes and i agreed to do this installation!
Unfortunately the store just installed the hard drive but was unable to provide me with the memory as agreed so now i have only the 1tb hard drive.
The system incl. Pages , Numbers and terminal now is working again, not really faster but improved a bit and this also included the startup time, except the items mentioned above. ( iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand)
By the way:
I did change my CC as I am in Asia and my old card was running out of date!
I had a different Apple Id because i had purchased the Mac in Thailand and changed the store and Id to Spain (for CC reasons) but was never a problem if i had updates in the past!

I don't know if it will solve your original problem, but the Vodafone software needs to be reinstalled or removed.
Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
I never install system modifications myself, and except as stated in this comment, I don't know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find that information.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickMyMac” (a hypothetical example.) First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickmymac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickMyMac.” If not, open “BrickMyMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button. The uninstaller might also be accessed by clicking theCustomize button, if there is one.
Back up all data before making any changes.
You will generally have to restart the computer in order to complete an uninstallation. Until you do that, there may be no effect, or unpredictable effects.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" such as "AppCleaner" and the like that purport to remove software.

How do I update camera firmware for Rebel T4i?

I can't find any info on the Canon web site for the current firmware version for my camera T4i, nor how to update it if necessary.

I know I will have problems with this phone when I get a 16gb micro sd hc card because the firmware has yet to be updated! Nokia can't neglect the US customers who have bought their phones! Yes. You can't update or restore any GSM iPhone without a valid sim card installed in the phone. The sim card need not be activated, but it must be valid & present. If you want to update, you need to get a sim card.

Problem with update of firmware for 5300

Hi,
I have following problem while trying to update my firmware from version 5.51 to 7.00 on my 5300:
I am connecting the phone through usb cable to PC-suite 7.0.9.2 and the update starts normally. Works fine till it reaches exactly 15%. There it shuts down the phone and loses the contact with the phone. Now I am asked to reconnect the phone and click retry. Same thing again and again and... again........
Note that I can not start the phone untill I disconnect the cable and take out the battery!
Does any one know how to get over this point and end the update???

I had some calls succesfully already and there is no problem with calling, but I still cannot update the firmware and it showed me that "No connection to update server". I'm having exactly the same problem, though my firmware is 0141 (not sure if this is the latest). When I select the 'Firmware update' option, I'm immediately given that "No connection to update server" message (not sure if it even tries to connect to it, as this all happens immediately), and no further options (Latest Firmware / Current Firmware / All Firmware vers.") are presented. I tried to reset the base station several times, to no avail.

Unable to update 3510 firmware

I want to upgrade the firmware from 327P to 411 on my 3510 storage array. I installed 113723-10 then ran the s3kdlres which ran then prompted me to run the command: "
sccli 10.10.10.20 download ses-firmware <fn>". I inserted the full path to the SUN411I-3510.bin file that came with the patch in place of <fn> and and ran the command which produced the error:
sccli: download enclosure firmware error: bad firmware data for download.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here?

SUN411I-3510.bin - RAID controller firmware
sesfw_3510_1046.s3r -SES firmware.
You say :
sccli 10.10.10.20 download ses-firmware - donload SES firmware, but say full path to RAID firmware.
Read file README in the patch and do step by step.
