T530 Webcam light

Hello,
I have a problem with my webcam light.
The LED next to the integrated webcam flashes when the laptop is off, not very quick, just once per minute or so.
It stops when I turn the laptop on.
I noticed it just now and it freaks me out a bit, please help?
I have a new (August this year) thinkpad T530

Adobe Reader does not turn on or off a web cam.
Perhaps you inadvertently turned the web cam software on.
Or, perhaps, you have malware in play.

Hi, I have seen my webcam light turn on, many connections with netstat, and Resource Manager shows that they are from Skype.exe. What is happening? My green webcam light will not turn off, when I go into photo booth, it says my webcam isn't connected

My webcam light will not turn off. It's been on for days, even when I restart and shut down my computer. It also will not allow me to use the webcam, it says that it is not connected.

I have a similar problem. The caps lock light stays lit. If I accidentally hit it, I won't be able to type anything for a few seconds, like the keyboard is frozen.
Strangely it doesn't seem to cause me to type in all caps. The light's on, but it doesn't cap lock.
Also strange is that this started happening recently, after upgrading to 10.5.7.
Any answers welcome - thanks. I think these may be related issues.

Webcam light remaining on after a call

I was in a call earlier and after I left I noticed my webcam light was still on. I unplugged the webcam and plugged it in again to see if the light would switch off, but the light remained on. Is this something to do with skype or my webcam?

I think it's more on your webcam.

Webcam light on Qosmio F60 blinks between blue and red

Hi guys, I have a Qosmio F60. The problem I think I am facing right now is that the webcam light blinks between blue and red for a while and goes back to blue. And it gets kind of hot behind the webcam on the cover of the laptop.
Is it supposed to get hot when I make video calls?
And what could be causing the blinking of the led light for the webcam.

Dont know exactly what the blinking led could mean but Ive got one question;
Does the webcam work properly? Can you use this as supposed?
If yes, then I would not be worried
By the way the cam should not get warm I think the FL inverter which is placed behind the screen is warm but this is ok.

IMac in standby modus but webcam light is on?!

Recently I noticed, that the webcam light on my imac is on but the screen was in standby modus and black... I know that this light is only flashing, when the camera is on, too. I've never noticed that before and I think it's quite unusual?! Do I have to be worried now?

When I boot up my Macbook the green light by the webcam comes on and stays on. When I start up ichat or photobooth nothing comes on the screen. Is my laptop defective?

The light will be ON all the time. It's a indication of the WebCam receiving power from the USB port.

What I meant is that when I am using the webecam, only one light adjacent to the webcam is on. The light on the other side of the webcam is never on. Is there a way to do it?

My webcam light it on but not showing an image. not working in pre installed programmes or skype.

1) Click start in search type Recovery Manager then click on it select Yes on User access control then select I need immediate help then select Driver & application recovery select the Webcam driver and install it then restart the unit.

Is the iSight (webcam) light operated by software or is it hard wired

With the NSA revelations, I am seeing more and more people putting tape on their MacBook iSight camera.
I would like to know if that makes sense or not.
I am wondering how the iSight light, which indicates the camera being active, is operated. Is it switched on by software? So would it be possible at all to use the camera without the light lighting up? Or is the light physically connected to the camera, something like: The camera could be attached to electricity flowing to and from the camera and would therefor necessarily be working when the camera is working.

No.
Some computers (not Macs) have similar cameras with separate hardware controlling the LED, such that the camera can be powered on while the LED remains off. No Mac that Apple has ever built has the ability to do that. With Macs, LED off = camera off. The NSA can go pound sand.
Technically speaking it's called the FaceTime camera.

Webcam won't start anymore

I'm using HP Mini 210, Windows 7 Starter. The last time I used the built-in cam was 5 days ago. I used it to record a video. No update has been made ever since, but now that I wanna use it again, it won't start. It doesn't show any image when I open the default webcam software, "HP Camera". Even in sites such as webcamtoy, it only shows up blank. The light near the webcam lights up, the cam doesn't seem to work.

This seems to be issue with the webcam and may have to be replaced. Yes, it is also a good idea to get the cable checked by a local technician.
Though, BIOS does not play any role in functionality of the webcam, you may still try to reset it to default settings.
Power off the computer
Restart the computer, tap ‘F2’ key on the Dell logo
This will take you to the BIOS screen
Try to reset BIOS to defaults.
Press ‘F9’ key once, highlight ‘Yes’, press ‘Enter’
Press ‘F10’ key once, highlight ‘Yes’, press ‘Enter’
Restart the computer and check the functionality.

Hp TrueVision HD web cam does not work. The light will come on but no image appears in the window.

I have an HP Pavilion dv7 6178us Entertainment PC I just bought it last week. My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 64 bits.
The problem I have is that yesterday I install Skype in the computer and realized that the HP TrueVision HD web cam does not work. The light right next to the web cam will light up but no image will appear on the screen.
I have checked the software that I have in the computer for the webcam and the program is CyberLink YouCam BE version 3.5.
But the web cam does not work. The light right next to it will turn on when I activate Cyberlink, Skype or Messenger but no actual image will come out in computer screen. The computer is fully updated BIOS, Windows 7 and HP.
But the web cam is not working. Could you help me fix this problem?

I have a pavilion dv6 notepad. it's about a year old.
about a month ago internal webcam truevision hd stop working.
Called hp tech. they sent a box for me to ship the laptop.
they hp tech attempted to correct the problem via internet
did not work.
wanted me to do a restore to factory setting i stopped him there.
Webcam detected in device manager.
the webcam light come on but no image.
I actually see the back drop through the image space.
running windows 7, fully updated.
I found many comments on the web about the webcam connector disconnecting.
But if it was the case with my computer, the webcam would not be detected.
Many other comments suggests to do a restore to factory setting but \i read also that
does not work often.
I read many comments where disappointed clients believe hp should update
the software but the driver is actually microsoft dating back to june 2006.
Is it possible it's a hardware problem, ie webcam is burned out.
I have received a box to sent it and know they will do a system restore.
Don't feel to go that way.
Many comments refers to hp making an effort to get a driver update.
ps I decided to purchase a logitech webcam, works perfectly.
What else can I do to fix this problem.
Can hp send me another internal webcam.

Qosmio F60 - No picture on webcam

Have just purchased a new Qosmio F60 and the webcam was working, it worked for a day or two and now the webcam light comes on but no picture. I have audio when I do the settings but I cannot get any picture.
Have tried everything my limited knowledge allows, including updates and re-installing the drivers but still only audio, no picture.

Do you use the webcam with Camera Assistant Software or another program like Skype? If you use another program like Skype you should close the Camera Software. You cant use two programs at the same time they access the webcam.
If its not working you should update the webcam driver. You can download the newest version here:
