T5740 disk space is full

I have 5 HP thin clients that are out of memory space as the winsxs file is eating it all. I can not run the dism command and cannot update to the next version that allows you to fix this issue as there is no space. There are no personal files on the thin client. I have 3.81GB of space and the winsxs folder taking up 2.41GB of that, or 1.62GB compressed. I am having many issues with these thin clients. Can anyone advise me on how to completly reset the thin client and start from fresh or how to get rid of the winsxs folder with out any issues?

Sorry.. I meant this link.

  • How To resolve "disk space is full" issue when downloading the apps in Creative Cloud Packager

    Hello All!
I have recently started using Creative Cloud Packager and have started my first package.  I have instructed it to download to my Local D Drive (which has 200GB free) and it has started successfully however about a third of the way through it stops and some of the apps have a warning icon and the error "Disk Space is full, please clear some space and try again".  However my D Drive still shows 200GB free which implies that it is not downloading to there at all and also that there is space!
Is there a download cache location which could be full or should it download straight to the folder I instructed?
Can anyone advise on the best way to troubleshoot this please?
    Thanks,
    James

    Hi James,
The cache folder is set in the preferences, under the drop-down 'Welcome' menu.

  • My hard drive is getting consumed as I sit and watch.  I don't have much on my computer, but it tells me the disk space is full.

I am getting a message that my disk space is full and when I check on the hard drive capacity, I can watch it going down.  I don't have much stored on my hard drive, so I don't know what's using up all the space.

If you can see it disappearing before your eyes, it is likely to be some runaway process. Possibly a log filling up.
Open the Console application and click to system.log and at the bottom, see if there is some process repeating endlessly.
Post the last several lines of that log if you think it is relevant. Don't post the entire log though, just the end bit.

  • My disk space is full.

I have barely anything on my computer. Two movies, a handfull of books, no music, and maybe two thousand pictures. I have only basic apps like pages, numbers, ibank, maybe 20 total. Should my disk space really be full already? I have been deleting stuff to try to make space but I am at a bare minimum here. I am not a very advanced user, but it seems like I should have a whole lot more space???

Here's how to find and remove large files:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10677
Do you have TechTool Pro on your machine (a fairly common diagnostic program)?  If so, it's fairly often configured to set up a "sleep" file that can be huge.

  • Disk space is full, everything is starting not to work.

My computer has been saying my startup disk is getting full for some time. I deleted basically every file, since I didn't have much on here anyways. I have my pictures, my itunes, and only a few word documents. I had thought that maybe my itunes was taking up all the space, even though I don't have nearly enough music to do that. I then checked the storage through the "about this mac" option. It is showing that the majority of space on my computer is being taken up by movies... which makes no sence because I have no movies on this computer. Now I am not sure what to do... is there a way to delete these unknown movies it thinks I have on my computer?

First start by reading these two links and executing some of the suggestions:
    http://pondini.org/OSX/LionStorage.html
    http://pondini.org/OSX/DiskSpace.html
An excellent tool to use is OmniDiskSweeper,  Download it from the Internet (free) and open it.  It will show all of your files and the respective sizes.  Delete or transfer to an external HDD that you do not want on your MBP.
    Ciao.

  • Keep getting errors that Disk Space is full when it is not

This past week I have had problems with my mac.  It started last week when it stopped letting me save files to my hard drive along with running very slow.  I still had around 100gb left on my drive at this time.  I checked my disk through disk utility and all was fine.  The problem persisted and because I have projects due this week I went ahead and backed up my important files and wiped my drive and reinstalled OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.5.  The problem still persists and applications are hit and miss at opening.  When I try to save a file I occasionally get the disk space error.  When I try to install bundled applications such as Illustrator or After Effects they always fail.  I installed clamx to see if there was any vicious malware, clams would not update its virus definitions and would always fail when attempting too.    I finally got it to update and the scan found nothing.  I went to disk utility and when I verified disk I got "Problem with EFI partition"  I repaired the disk and still issues persist. The Macbook Pro is only a year and 3 weeks old.  I had to use a friends computer to post.  Any help would be greatly appreciated here.

If you purchased Apple Care before your one year standard warranty expired, call them.  If not, call Customer Relations.  Let them know that you are just 3 weeks past your standard warranty.  See what they can do for you in getting your computer fixed for free.

If you haven't already run disk cleanup and be sure you get the temp folder as well.
    Now defrag the drive.
Also, is your drive formatted in FAT 32?
If you have XP you can switch it to NTFS without endangering your data.
    Now try again.

  • My hard disk space is full

my external hard drive is almost full.I have a lot of mac games which I do not want to delete them to make space. I have already transferred music and pictures to external hard drive. Unfortunately I don't know how should I have to transfer my games to external hard drive. Would you please advice me what should I have to transfer my games to external hard drive? Also do you think my games will work from external hard disk. Thanks

my external hard drive is almost full.
    Do you mean internal HD?
If you do mean the EHD then purchase a second EHD and move files from the 1st EHD to the 2nd EHD.
If you mean interenal HD how much free space do you currently have?  A minimum of 10-15 GB is recommended for optimal system and application prefornamce.
You can move your iPhoto and iTunes libraries to the EHD and run them from there.  That will release a lot of space on your internal HD.
You games probably need to be located in the Applications folder and on the internal HD if their installer installs other supporing files in the system folders.  Not being a gamer is can't speculate further.
    What system are you running?

  • Start up disk space is full

How do i remove old files to make Space/room on start up disk for new files

Drag items you don't need to the Trash and empty it. If needed, move items such as the iTunes or iPhoto libraries to an external drive first.

  • Scratch disk space is full error

I'm using Elements 6 on a 10 year old iMac.  Great results until recently receiving message stating "Scratch disk (or startup disk) is full.  Remove files to make more room.  I get that and manual and iMac help only say this can be done, but doesn't tell me how.
Message title was edited by: Brett N

Plug the drive in and when it shows up on your desktop, drag things (photos, documents) to it. When you're sure the files got copied, then you can delete the originals from your main drive.
Incidentally, just FYI, you can't back up PSE that way at all. If you ever need to reinstall you will need to run the installer. Trying to migrate PSE only creates problems, since the installer strews stuff all over your hard drive, in a lot of places you and the migration assistant wouldn't think to look.

  • My Macbook Pro keeps on saying that my disk space is full (startup Disk space) how or what do I need to do to resolve this as it is preventing me downloading all software updates?

    Can someone help?

it actually says this "You need 5.34 GB of available space to download and install the updates. To increase available space, remove files from your startup disk, and then try again."
Don't even know how to do what it is asking me to do, can I get some direction?

  • Disk space almost full

I have a G4 imac running Tiger. Since my son was born last December I have increased my iphoto library by about 4000 images. Subsequently I have only 1.5GB left on my hard drive. I have backed up approximately 6000 images onto 6 DVDs (2 copies of each 2000 image DVD) and I also back up to a 120GB external disk. I would like to remove the 10GB of images, but I want to take the albums associate with them also. My hope is very soon to upgrade to the new iMac later this year and look towards a 500GB hard drive. I want to know the best way of backing up and transferring so that when I get the new Imac I can load everything back to Iphoto and it would be like nothing happened. Can anyone suggest the most anxiety free way of doing this?
    Thanks.
iMac G4 (800MHz)/1GB/60GB (old but working)   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Ian:
The best solution would be if you could get everything on an external FW HDD, and then when you get your new computer with larger HDD you could just clone everything, or just the Users folder containing all your data, images and all, using SuperDuper. If you are not able to get everything on your external HDD, back up all you can, then when you have your new HDD, first restore from the external HDD, then from CDs, DVDs, or wherever.
Please post back with further questions or comments.
    Good luck.

  • Disk space is full and I need to move and back up some movies to clear up space--suggestions?  I have a time capsule, but am afraid that if I delete the files from my laptop, they will subsequently be deleted from the time capsule.

I also don't want to have a single copy of the movies.  Is buying an external hard drive for my movie files the only option?  Can I then use the time capsule to back-up the G Drive?
    Trish

You can't depend on a Time Machine backup keeping copies of files that you've deleted from your Mac.  For one thing, those would be the only place those files were kept.  If the disk in the Time Capsule fails, you'd have lost them entirely.  For another thing, Time Machine will eventually delete those files.  See item 20 of Time Machine FAQs.
A locally-connected external disk would be the best place to move those movies.

  • Problem with hard disk space

I don't know what the problem of my macbook pro mid 2010. When I erased a program or files, my hard disk spaces become full but when I installed program or download files my hard disk space diminish. My mac running OS X Maverick 10.9.2.

    Pranyana,
do you regularly make Time Machine backups? If so, then the apparent discrepancy could be explained by the behind-the-scenes creation and deletion of local Time Machine snapshots.
