T60 Docking Station

hello
one reason I bought the docking station for my T60 is to keep my desk clean and free of cables.  the webcam (Phillips SPC 900 SC) appears to not get enough power from the dock to operate. the solution i have found is to connect direct to one of the T60 USB, but this defeats the purpose...  Same thing with a USB hub I have connected. is this a common problem? i would have expected that the docking station would power itself thru the power cord and be able to handle the demand.. thanks

i find that hard to believe its not supported.  Webcams are pretty popular accessories (one might even go as far to say standard)  Try switching around the ports and see what happens.  If all else fails, a call to Lenovo Technical support asking whether it should work or not might help.

  • T60 w/ Docking Station DVI - HDMI 1080p problems.

    Hi,
Im currently running vista 32bit on a T60 with a docking station trying to externally display to a 1920x1080 LCD via the DVI port on the back of the docking station to the HDMI port on the LCD (Samsung N series 40").
The problem im having is when i set the resolution to 1920x1080 the output on the LCD is not crisp and there is a 1" black border around the whole screen.  If you lower the resolution right down to 1024x 7xx (cant remember exactly what it is) it fills the screen and is crisp., but everything is just mega big..
I have the latest video drivers off the lenovo support page.
I also have a T43 running vista and it displays 1920x1080 via the DVI port on the docking station fine.
Has anybody seen this before and have any ideas on how to fix it?
    Thanks, Cam

  • Docking station only maintains charge on T60

Hello all. Just a quick question if anyone can help. I have a T60 which when attached to the docking station does not charge the battery, it only maintains the current battery state (i.e. it does not discharge but maintains the current "percentage" charge). I recently changed the HD and am now running XP SP3 (used to be SP2) - but I doubt that has anuthing to do with it. Other than that everthing else is fine. Any pointers would be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance, d.

  • T60 USB ports when in a 2504 docking station

Thinking about getting a 2504 docking station for my T60.  If the T60 is docked can the T60 USB ports be used or can only the docking station ports be used?

All USB ports can be used while docked.

  • T60 Locking up in the docking station after sitting on overnight.

I have a user who uses a T60.  When they leave the machine in the docking station overnight, it lokcs up.  The user must remove the battery and put it all back and re-boot before they can start their day.
Has anyone else experienced this before?
Thanks in advance for any help.
I have already made sure the machine was not hibernating and set the power to never turn off anything.  I have also re-imaged the machine using hte same image as the other 500 T60's we have in service.

  • Hard Drive not recognized when booting from XP CD on docking station

The hard drive on my X60 failed to the point where I couldn't recover and reinstall the image. I have backups of all my data and a docking station so I didn't sweat it. Bought a new drive and installed it and this is when the trouble began.
I created an XP CD with SP2 slipstreamed in to make sure I have the latest drivers. I boot from XP CD and everything works until I try to install Windows. According to the installation CD there is no drive installed!
I reinstalled the drive to make sure and this time I booted off of Ubuntu Linux which installed flawlessly. That leads me to believe that  there is a driver problem with Windows.
I need help! I would like to install Windows on the machine but nothing I've tried works.

Standard Microsoft XP SP2 does not come with any SATA device drivers.
    You have two options:
Go into the T60 BIOS and switch the SATA controller mode away from AHCI to "IDE" mode (or pehaps its "legacy" or "compatibility" mode - I forget what specific term is used in a ThinkPad BIOS).
Find the SATA device driver for XP (it's probably in the Intel Chipset driver download) on the Lenovo X60 support web site, download it and install it using the additional driver installation option which is offered right at the start of an XP install.
If you chose option 1, remember to switch the SATA controller back to AHCI mode in the BIOS after you have installed the SATA device driver.

  • How to undock Thinkpad Yoga from Onelink Docking station?

I used the search but I couldn't find the answer to my problem, so here it is:
I've got a Thinkpad Yoga and a Onelink Docking station but I can't figure out how to safely hot undock.
I cannot find any option to undock and just ripping of the onelink cable doesn't feel to be quite safe ?!?
    Thanx for your help.

    Welcome to the forum!
Even if it were physically possible, you wouldn't be able to use both Ethernet ports at the same time, because the motherboard doesn't support more than one connection at the time.

  • T60 Docing station problems with PowerPoint 2007

For some reason when i am editing powerpoint slides (specirfically resizing or moving pictures) the power drops out on all USB peripherals for a matter of seconds and then comes backl... which makes the resize quite difficult! Im using a Lenovo USB mouse and Keyboard that came withthe docking station.
If i use the laptop it doesnt happen, and if i use the USBs on the machien itself it doesnt happen...
it is leaving me very confused....

With my T60 (2007 CTO) in the dock....When i run PPT 07 and try to resize any graphics, the mouse is erratic and the USB sound goes on and off...also the "battery" icon flashes....No such problems with graphics in word 07
If I plug directly into the usb port on the machine (while docked-no problem).  Also works fine undocked.
my R60 and T43 are fine...any thoughts anyone??
    thanks

  • T42 & T43 Thinkpad Keyboards not working after taking from docking station

I have a t42 and t43 thinkpads, both are having the same problem.
The keyboards appeared to be disabled, I have uninstalled, reinstalled drivers etc.
Reseated keyboards physically and they still wont work.
    The glide pads work.
The only way I can get a keyboard to work in via the docking station.
    Power buttons doesn't work either.
    Any ideas?
It's almost like the keyboards are disabled, but I have checked every setting possible.
Is it possible to disable the keyboard? If so, how to reverse?

    Welcome to the forum.
Have you considered the possibility of keyboards going bad? Improperly connected? A non-functioning ower button is pretty much a dead giveaway for one of these options...
It is not possible to disable an internal keyboard, BTW.

  • Does anyone have/use their docking stations?

I was wondering, does anyone have one, or use their docking stations? I just got one. It is brand new, and I like it. I have an A31,R51, and an R52. I love being able to dock them and use them as a "desktop".

    Hi,
I had a dock with my X40 whose screen got broken during an accident, so only then I used it for a good amount of time as a desktop replacement while docked in the station and connected to an external monitor, I quite enjoyed that experience.
I would love to buy one for my T400 as well

  • Docking Station 2503

Can anyone tell me what laptops the 2503 docking station supports?
    Thanks!!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    According to ThinkWiki: ThinkPad Advanced Dock 2503-10U is compatible with R60 , R61 , R400 , R500 , T60 , T60p , T61 , T61p...
IIRC it's also compatible with x400 x500 series, where x is R, T, L or W however Lenovo's support site no longer contains info about this dock.

  • User misplaced key after locking 2504 Advanced docking station

My company employs lots of remote users, one user in particular has locked her T60 notebook onto her type 2504 Advanced Docking Station and 'misplaced' her key.  The machine won't boot now and I need to be able to get to the battery in order to begin to troubleshoot it.  It won't power on if I have the power cord plugged into the docking station.
Can anyone give me any pointers on how to undock this notebook so I can get her initial problem solved?
    Thanks,
    Eric O.

The canned answer is order some new keys.
A locksmith might be able to turn the lock barrel.  A toolsmith might be able to bust the machine out of there without damaging the base cover of the ThinkPad but maybe not without damage to the dock.

  • Compatible with Type 2877 docking station?

    Greetings!
I'm trying to figure out whether my pre-existing docking station (Type 2877, with American power cord) is compatible with the new members of the X-series of Thinkpads? (I'm probably leaning more towards a 13.3" laptop, so it's also relevant whether the SL300 is compatible)
    Thank you in advance!

The last generation of ThinkPads that can use this dock are T4x, R5x and X3x units. All of them utilize Pentium M CPUs.
Please note that not all R5x machines support docking.
    Hope this helps.
