T60 No power up with Battery pack

Hi, Im repairing a T60 1951-83S, that not power up with any battery pack, I connect the AC adapter and the Laptop Turn on, I remove Memory, Daugther card, Wireless card, CD/DVD, and the problem persist.
When the thinkpad Turn on with the AC adapter and then I disconnect the AC adapter, when I turn off the Laptop, this don turn off it just restart always, so, when a hold the ON button then turn off.
Please I need Help!, what others test I have to do???  Thank you.

Gary,
Thanks for the reply. I verified the voltage of the new battery as good (3.6v).
Still no start up once it was inserted. Then I remembered that when trouble shooting some Mac issues it is recommended to disconect from power and remove battery for 24 hrs. So Friday before I left work I did just this. This morning (Monday) I re inserted the battery, pushed the reset, and reconected to power. Low and behold the Mac started up normally. Of course I had to reset the date and time. I'm too afraid to shutdown and restart yet (got a great steaming mass of work to do), but I'll have to gird my loins for this latter in the day and let you know.
Thanks Again,
jabell

  • Cases for ipodshuffle with  battery pack in UK

I tend to use my shuffle with the battery pack and was wondering was there a special case wich fits both availible in the UK. I had the sports case but the white locks broke
    , how cruddy.

My other MacBook (Macbook 13" aluminium 2.0) in Germany still has 100% after a whole year...
In all likelihood that battery exceeded its design capacity when it was new, and hasn't yet lost enough of its original capacity to be down to the capacity it was designed to have. This isn't unusual: variations in individual cells often produce new batteries with greater Full Charge Capacities than Apple specifies for them. The battery in my MBP, for example, with a design capacity of 4600mAh, arrived with a FCC of a litle more than 4800mAh, and has never been as low as 4600. It's 11 months old now, has 63 cycles on it, and it shows a capacity of about 4650mAh lately (the indicated capacity fluctuates up and down within a range of +/- 30mAh).
A long as a battery exceeds or equals its design capacity, it will be shown as 100% healthy. I don't think you have anything to worry about with your present battery; it probably just started out with something very close to its design capacity, and has lost a little. Unless its capacity continues to drop off rapidly, just use it and don't be concerned.

  • G7 will not power on with battery at 100%

I just bought a new battery because the one that was in said it was charging but the windows app always said 0% charge so I bought a new one. It's needed  a  new one for a year, so  I put the new one in and let it charge up until windows app in the corner said it was at 97% not charging. I unplugged and it was like  there was no battery in at all. I plugged the power cord in and I was at the windows shutdown error startup.
Ain't nobody got time for that. Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi methusela,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I am sorry to hear that after replacing your battery, you are still having a problem with the computer. I will try my best to help you with this. To better guide you, could you please give me some more information.
What is the model number of your computer?
What operating system is running on the computer?
What error message(s) are you getting?
Not that you need them but here are guides for:
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Here is a document for Battery Does not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge. In here are steps to let you know if it is the power supply, system board or the battery that is not working correctly.
I hope this information is useful, and please let me know about the other, and I will be happy to help you!
Thank you and have a great day!

  • Removable Muvo battery packs powering other thin

    I was wondering...
Is it possible for you to take a Usb cable and plug into the port
of the battery pack of a muvo mp3 player, and plug the other end
of the cable into, say, another mp3 player and use it as an external
    battery pack?
I do have one of the old Muvo mp3 players where the player part of it
broke, and I was wondering if i could still make use of it.
    Thanks.

I think you're wanting to use the MuVo battery pack as an external battery for the other MP3 player. That probably would work, as long as your new player doesn't draw more power than the battery pack can supply. Also, if the new player plugs directly into a USB port (like the iPod Shuffle), you'll probably need some kind of extension, such as a USB "A-plug to A-jack" extension cable or an iPod Shuffle dock.
IIRC, the older MuVos' headphone jacks were in the battery pack; thus it's highly unlikely you can use that jack with your other player.

  • X201 crashing only if power cord and battery are both in use

I have a thinkpad x201. ThinkVantage has been telling me for a while that I should replace my battery. Late summer, my machine was crashing for no reason. It would be on and poof, dies. No warnings, no errors before dying.
I then decided to replace my battery. At which point I found out that my battery was recalled. I got a new battery from lenovo, and ThinkVantage does not tell me there is any problem with the battery anymore.
However, my x201 keeps crashing. After multiple test scenarios, I figured out the following:
    - if only my battery is plugged (no electricity), the laptop will NOT crash.
    - if the laptop is plugged into the power supply (no battery), the laptop will NOT carsh.
    - if laptop is plugged into the power supply with battery still installed (electricity+battery), the laptop WILL crash.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (64 bit) with core i7 M 620 @ 2.67 GHz and 4 GB of RAM.
Any ideas as to what I can do?
    Thanks in advance!

the repair should be covered by 3 months, if you are within that then you should be okay.
If you are out of warranty, lenovo offers post warranty warranty on your laptop, it should not cost more than 200 dollars for the basic package, and then get it fixed under warranty.

  • Compact Battery Pack CP-E4 to Speedlite 600EX-RT will not power on.

I attached the Compact Battery Pack CP-E4 to my Speedlite 600EX-RT and it will not power on. The battries are fully charged. The flash works with the battries installed in the flash unit. Is there some thing else that I am suppose to do?

    Hi Tazdog!
Thank you for posting about this.
When using the CP-E4 with the Speedlite 600EX-RT, it is still necessary to have batteries inside the battery compartment of the flash.  The flash needs internal power to function and allow you to control the flash.  With the CP-E4 connected, it will draw power from it and the internal batteries to recycle the flash.
Even though internal power is necessary, you can still set the flash to draw the recycling power from the CP-E4 only by changing Custom Function 12 to [1:External power only].

  • Reliable battery pack for backup power?

I was looking at the Energizer brand battery pack for iPods, but I don't know if its "Touch" compatible since its not listed. Anyone have hands on experience with a good (safe) backup power device for the Touch? I have the 3g 64gb model.

  • Iphone 4s wont power on, im just getting a blank screen with battery charging on front screen

iphone 4s wont power on, im just getting a blank screen with battery charging on front screen>>>>becouse it is after damage water

At Apple Store, if you have AppleCare +, replacement iPhone 4S costs $50, if no +, then it will cost $199. Either your battery is faulty, the power management is faulty, or the charging port is faulty, or all three. Start with battery replacement. If still problem, then try charging port with flex cable replacement. If still problem, then it is very complex fix or no fix at all possible.

  • Laptop won't power up with AC adapter and won't charge battery

    Here is the thing.
    1) the laptop doesn't power on without a battery when directly connected to ac adapter.
    2) the light which would indicate that the laptop is plugged into the ac adapter is not on when the ac adapter is plugged in.
    3) the battery charge light is also not on, which would indicate the battery is being charged.
The battery does not charge... Laptop turns on the battery backup mode, but not on ac adapter connection. I tried connecting the battery to another compatible hp laptop (both my laptop and the other test device support same battery models). It was charging fine on that laptop. And when switched it back into my laptop, laptop was running fine, but it does not charge in my laptop. But ac adapter is fine too. So whats the issue? And what can I do to get it sorted?
My laptop is not on warranty anymore. But i replaced battery 4 months back, so its not a fault with battery or the ac adapter.
The AC adapter is fine, tested with other laptop.
The battery is also new and works fine

    Hi  ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. It is a great site for information and questions. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion g6-2004tx Notebook and issues with the battery not charging. Here is a link to calibrate and test the Battery. Calibration should eliminate this issue. Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.HP Battery Check in HP System Diagnostics for Windows 8, would give you details of charging and discharging.Testing and Calibrating the battery using HP System Diagnostics in Windows 8. At the starting of the Notebook, Press F2 to select F2 System Diagnostics. Then choose Component Tests, then battery. If the battery was purchased from HP it could be in warranty. Here is a link to check. If purchased from another source you would have to contact them. Hope this helps. Thanks.

  • Any portable battery packs that work with the iPhone?

I'll be doing a lot of "line waiting" next week and would like to use the iPhone for entertainment (internet/movie watching). I believe they're rated to last about 6-7 hours but I haven't been getting that much from mine (I'd also want something as a backup in case my battery dies on me and I'm not by a charger (or have the time to let it charge)).
I've seen portable battery packs for the ipod (that plug into the dock connector) but do any work with the iPhone?

I haven't tried one, but I think it's extremely likely that it would work. All the reports are that every iPod charging accessory - wall adapters, car adapters - works with iPhone.

they said leap year added extra day so too late out of warrenty, sorry but can sell you new one  i called apple said same , a company that big should take care of customers the origanel receipt should of said under date of purchess warrnty to end date following year,

That's strange, because no where in the iPhone's limited warranty does it state "365 days", but it does state 1 year. I think the only way they could get out of that is because of the battery, which is not covered by the warranty. HOWEVER, it is stated on AT&T's website that claims are handled from 31-365 days, which would explain why the Apple people acted as such. I know you have Verizon, but since it is (essentially) the same device, it's under the same warranty.

Many people have had stories about issues happening as soon as their warranty expires, with products in general.
I'd just consider upgrading, and selling your old one.

  • Can I use my old battery & power cord with my new machine?

    Hiya everyone,
I recently trashed the screen of my iBook bought in Sept 03 (by spilling water on it.) I've now bought a new one, and as the battery and power cable from my old machine are still fine, and as I could do with a spare of each, I just wanted to check it would be ok to use them with my newer machine.
Both machines are 12 inch iBook G4s, the only differences I can think of are as follows:
    Old machine:
    30GB hard drive
    1 GHz
    256MB ram
    New machine:
80GB hard drive (I had it customized)
    1.33GHz
    512MB ram
I'd appreciate knowing whether my old power cord and battery can be used with my new machine, so if anyone could answer my question, I'd be most grateful. Thanks everyone.

    Hi Charity,
Yes, you can use both. They have the same specs.
