T60P cannot download drivers / connect to proper wireless

I got a new hard drive for my T60P, so I am trying to install Windows XP on it. I got the computer through govconnection, so it never came with a recovery disk; now I am trying to install a clean version and install all the drivers manually, and it is not working. Specifically, for a lot of drivers, such as Intel Wireless LAN (6mwc24ww), I can download the driver file, but I can't run it as a program because windows is refusing to recognize it as such.
What is going on? How do I install these things? I have tried to install other updates, hoping that there is some OS fix to enable this, but can't seem to find it.
Relatedly, perhaps, I seem to be unable to connect to the wireless in my house. It sees the network, goes to Detecting Network Type, then com[ains that it is unable to connect to the selected network, because it may be out of range. (Obviously, it is not). It doesn't even seem to get to the step where I can enter my wireless password. The internet suggests that this is a problem with the hardware, but when I slot it my old drive with an ubuntu-linux install, it works just fine. Presumably this is a driver issue, but if so which one, and how do I install it?

I would suggest that you wipe the hard disk and perform a clean reinstallation of Microsoft Windows XP using your licensed copy of the operating system. When you are finished, connect the computer to a router on its wired Ethernet port, download and run the ThinkVantage System Update, which will locate and install of the device drivers for your T60p. After that is finished, run Microsoft Windows Update to download any missing service packs, hot fixes and patches and you should then be able to continue with installing the rest of the applications and software you use, data you are copying to the new computer and so forth. And, of course, be able to use both the wired and wireless connections.

Cannot download drivers for the HP office jet 4635

I cannot find and download drivers for my MAC. On verious support pages for downloading drivers, I enter the procuct name "HP officejet 4635" and enter and only blank pages come up and I cannot continue. It's a new printer and I am about to return it and buy another brand.
I was able to install it for my Windows machine, but most of the use will be on the MAC.

Cannot download drivers from Toshiba websites - download iterrupts

Hi all,
been using tosh and it's support site for years now.
Just recently when i'm downloading drivers from support pages every other one comes down corrupted.
Small ones seem fine but larger ones, anything over 40meg pulls down very quickly and windows reports as corrupted.
This isn't just one machine, XP, WIn7, WIn8, Server 2008, all do this, also at different sites.
We do connect to the web using a corporate proxy.
I have no problems downloading anything from homepage 200-300MB at a time or any other sites.
This is just Toshiba.
I have tried the Europe site and the Australia sites, all do the same.
Unless anyone can offer a reason or solution here then i'm gonna go poke our server team in the eye and blame them.
Is it just me?

Thanks for your replies.
Still getting 40k download speeds from any toshiba site, our server team have replicated the problem too.
They have even bumped my web traffik past the corporate firewall and it's still happening.
Can download anything from M$ at 1.1meg per sec.
Still bombing out after 1 or 2 mins and getting corrupted zip downloads.
I'll keep trying.

After I reinstalled my OS I went to support.lenovo.com ->download drivers and after I entered my model number (j100 8256g4g) it showed me the page with drivers then it redirected me to mobilesupport.lenovo.com.Help me please!

Cannot Downloading Drivers for Windows XP

I am a working on a friends laptop. I am completing a fresh install of Win XP, however when trying to download drivers I jst get page errors in both Firefox & IE 7. Is the website currently experiencing problems???

I was able to download all drivers and the site runs!! I dont know what you problem is but I recommend checking you notebook settings.

Espson stylus dx7400 cannot download drivers

I am in Europe and trying to use an Epson Stylus DX7400 series. I have the CD, but it doesn't work because PowerPC applications no longer supported. When I download drivers from epson website, ones that should be compatible with OS, it says can't install because PowerPC applications no longer supported. The Epson website re: Snow Leopard shows the printer labeled "inbox" and explains:
Drivers labelled Inbox are Epson drivers supplied with your operating system.These drivers can be installed from the Mac OS X Install DVD (under OptionalInstalls > Printer Support), and updated by using Apple's Software Updateutility (some models have software available through Software Update only).
I've just done the update utility. I do not travel with my Mac OS X Install DVD (assuming I ever got one, which I don't believe I did - not with my MacBook Air which has no DVD drive).
Any suggestions? I really need to be able to use this printer. Thanks - Linda 178

be sure to click on the relevant link for your OS version (not clear from your post since your profile states 10.6.x, but you posted in the 10.7 forum).
They include instructions on how to set up a printer. FWIW, Epson will no longer support it because the product was discontinued several years ago.

Cannot download drivers for my network adapter - Gigabyte X58A-UD5 Motherboard

Hey everyone, I recently got tired of my wireless connection for obvious reasons and decided to run an ethernet cable from my modem to my computer. I once I plugged in the ethernet cable nothing happened; I was confused and checked my network adapters
and my Lan adapter isn't there, no problem I'll just go download the drivers for it. I downloaded DriverTuner from the gigabyte site, and ran it found I didn't have drivers for an "Ethernet Controller" or a "Standard Duel Channel PCI IDE Controller".
So I download and attempt to install the drivers and get the error message "You have to run the 64-bit version of DPInst.exe on this machine - Contact vendor". (That's my problem and question - sorry for the story thought it might help.)
I've tired all number of ways to fix this, including attempts at running DPSisnt.exe, which I have no idea how to run any help would be appreciated, and am I even on the right track? is there something simpler going on?

Cannot download drivers for Bootcamp

i want to install Windows 7 on my new Macbook Pro '12 10.8 as i open the boot camp assitant and try to download the drivers for windows the stauts bar stucks at about 33% and nothing happend. On my old Macbook with 10.6 the assistant says that there is no software avaible at the moment
Can i download the drivers anyewhere else?
Is there a sever problem on apple´s site?

Macbook pro OS 10.6.8 bootcamp 3.0.4 cannot download drivers

Trying again:
i have spent hours searching the forums, and have even repaired disk (so clean start) no solution thus far.
Trying to install windows 7 from USB, no cd.
Using boocamp assistant, was able to partition drive.
two options: download software, or i've got disc etc.
download software does not work. error message:downlaod could not continue, windows support software not availalable.
as i do not have a cd, no further action can not proceed in BCAssist.
Have not been able to install windows.
what now?
i have Mac OSX dvd.

Then how does it fit on the hundreds of millions of DVD's that are sold with Windows on them.
1 Is this an ISO or executable file, do you know the difference?
2 Post a screenshot of the file as it appears in Finder.
3 Post the URL of the download site so we may look for ourselves.

Cannot download content and play at the same time

Hello Again,I am not sure if this is thanks to the last update but during this week I have not been able to download a game and play others game at the same time.I leaved the game downloading then went to play something (online or campaign) and a couple of minutes later the game that I was downloading appear with an error cannot download, error connection etc.I checked my network and is fine, even purchased a new router with the same results.Is somebody else experiencing this problems or know a solution for this?

Cannot download Solution Center for Off Jet 6500 Wireless since going to Windows 8.1

I get a failure message and am unable to download HP full feature software (a.k.a. the "solution center") for my HP Officejet 6500 Wireless on my Aspire E1-571-688 Laptop. The solution center was successfully downloaded when I got the laptop in August 2013. It was running fine until I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1.
When I discovered that the solution center would not run, I removed the printer and driver software beofre trying to reinstall. When trying to get the Solution Center back, I can't get past the download step because during download it "fails". I was able to download "drivers only" through the "add a printer" option, and I do have printing capability, however I am unable to use the scan function from the laptop (or directly from the 6500).
Weird that I can't get the scan function to work on the unit itself (I get the "no scan options" message when trying to do so) as I have confirmed mutliple times that the printer is successfully connected to the correct network.

Welcome to the HP Forum.
You will not have access to the full features of the printer software until you manage to install the Full Feature Software. Scanning is one of those functions.
The initial Connection to the Internet is indeed part of it -- you need a reliable, clean, consistant connection that will allow you to download the full data file. Your connection may be dropping out part way through.
You may need to upgrade your network drivers after the Upgrade to Windows 8.1 . There are other issues can can plague a system after the Upgrade, most are well documented at this point. You can check with your system's Forum to what others are saying.
Basic Drivers only are much smaller in size -- just a few MBs.
Random Thoughts..
You need to resolve the network issues so you can download the full software.
You might have a friend download the file onto his computer and transfer the file to your system using a USB stick. This does not fix your network problems but it does solve at least the issue of not being able to get a hold of the installation package.
You might try taking the computer to a friend's house -- if the issue is not within your computer's network setup, then the Upgrade may have "upset" the relationship between the computer and your home network.

We did that, but it just doesn't seem to be able to connect. So basically we tried to connect to our network and insert the password, but afterwards it does nothing. Weird thing is also that the network symbol (top right of the screen) says that it has been connected, but when I go look at the system preferences --> network, it states that it has not been connected

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion I cannot connect to my wireless router. I have 2 wireless networks in my home. One is the primary whuch all of my devices connect to. The other is for backup only. I cannot connect to the primary with my iMac but have no trouble with any of the other devices which include iphones and ipads.phones and iPads. I can however connect to the backup without a problem. I have tried upgrading the firmware of the router as well as changing the security from WEP to WPA-2, no luck. Can anyone help?

Try this, it's for information.
In Finder, open the Go menu, press and hold the option key, 'Library' will appear on the menu, click and scroll to Application Support, open the folder and scroll to 'AddressBook-v22.abcddb'. Click on the file and press Command-I. Towards the bottom you'll see Permissions, tell me what they are please.
