T61 battery is dead, just one night!

I just bought a T61 for one day, I just charge the battery for a whole night. The second day, the battery is dead. I can not charge it and use it any more. I just want to know what I should do,I got one year warranty.where I can get the warranty and which email is customer's service email.

because issues like yours first need to be diagnosed, phone is the only way to go. email might be more convenient but it saves support staff from having to bounce 10 emails back and forth just to diagnose something that might only take 5 minutes on the phone.
it's usually a quick and painless process. the new battery can even be expedited so you'll have it on friday.

Battery damaged after just one year of use

I am a medical student residing in hostel.I bought my Lenovo3000N100 notebook in feb'2007.After just one year of very minimal usage, the notebook battery has failed and now requires replacement.
How can such a company as lenovo's battery expire after 1 yr of use of maybe just 1-2 hours of running time per day or even less???
Even companies like ACER n HP have given better performance of their batteries which my roomates are using 3years n 2 years running n still working fine without any complains to date.
This battery problem has created a negative publicity for lenovo in my hostel and now nobody in my hostel or acquaintance wants to buy a lenovo product seeing my condition.

Could the battery be dead after one year?

Without any warning my one year old Ipad 2 won't power up. Shouldn't the battery have stopped holding a full charge before that happened? I have not dropped the iPad or had any accident with it. So I'm very surprised that it has stopped working.

You know anything is possible right? And not all iPads are capable of living for 2 - 9 years.
Have you tried charging it while starting it?
Have you tried contacting the "Apple"?
Have you tried going to any nearby Apple Store and check if your iPad needs battery replacement?
If all of these suggestions does not work, well it's bad news for you buddy.

Mmy first suspicion would be that you have, perhaps inadvertinantly, setup some app that is continuing to run in the background. Check your battery usage by app in settings (Settings, general, usage, battery usage).

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Here is what happens, and I've tried out several Apple chargers.
Unplugged, the battery charge icon shows only a tiny red bar for a charge, but it will come on.
The battery icon then displays a charging "lightening bolt" symbol showing charging when connected to any charger. But after a minute or two, the battery icon then changes to a "plugged in" symbol and the phone will no longer take a charge. I can recycle through this same sequence by unplugging and plugging back in the phone to a charger, but after a minute or two, that's it.

I had a recent loss of my iphone. i had purchased another iphone, and had all my info transfored onto the new one . i have either lost,or some one else has taken it. if battery is dead and the phone is not activated how might i still locate this phone????

Unfortunately no. Due to privacy issues Apple does not trace devices (if it could) based on serial numbers. That's why Apple provided the Find My iPhone service to help find lost devices. But in your case, a dead battery defeats the service. All you can do is contact your carrier to ask that it block your service and inform the police. Do you have insurance for the iPhone?

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

I have a MacBook Pro and I know my battery has been slowly dieing for a few months now. I recently had a new hard drive installed and the tech said it's done. This is the second one I've replaced. But my question is, why won't the laptop work without my battery charging properly? I just ordered a new battery but I'm now wondering if it's a bigger problem. Any advice?

If the problem is only a dead battery, your computer will work, it might slow down a little to prevent your MagSafe from being overloaded, but even if your battery has juice left enough to hold a few minutes it will run as new. Also, as you're ordered a new battery, everything seems just fine.
Just a reminder, calibrate your battery for best performance, at least once or twice a month.

Z61t Battery is dead after 1 1/2 year

Hi guys, is any of you have problem with Z61t battery being dead after 1.5 year? At 1 year mark, my extended battery only lasted 1 hr of use instead of 3 hrs when I first bought it. Now it totally dead, so when I unplug the AC adapter, it shut off. This already happened to my friend with the same model. I didn't pay attention when he told me until now. I couldn't believe this is happening b/c two of my previous laptops(different brands) were working fine. I sure won't buy another lenovo product again in the future. This is so disappointing.....

Welcome to the wonderful world of these sub par batteries now.
I have a T61 that is slightly more that a year old, and the battery is rated as Fair (can only hold 78% of it's original charge) - with only 3 cycles.
Very dissapointing considering my T41's battery is more that 3 years old and is rated as good and can hold 105% of it's original charge - go figure.
However, what seems to be key here is what power supply you use. If you use the wrong one, your battery life will be compromised.
Go to eBay and buy another genuine battery, but make sure the cycle count is low and make sure you are using the correct power supply.

MacBook Battery seems dead

Got an Intel based MacBook (black) on 11/2006. Always worked very fine, no problem.
10 days ago, while working on the Windows XP side through BootCamp, the battery came to a sudden end. I shut down the computer and forgot about it since I've been traveling ever since.
2 days ago I got the magsafe charger connected, but the light would stick to green and no battery charge whatsoever happened. The Macbook works only when connected to the power source through the magsafe.
I tried all suggestions I could find on the Apple support blog. No success. I believe the battery is dead.
Still it looks quite strange: no warning came before the battery died. The Mac just suddenly quit working, after which I just closed the lid and left it alone for more than a week.
Any idea anybody? I'm convinced I gotta get a new battery. I have no Apple Care service, so think I'll have to buy one myself.

Just started having this problem with my girlfriends 1.5 yr old MacBook (purchased Jan 07). X in the menu, battery not recognized. Must be a dead battery because it works when I use the battery from my Macbook. Don't believe it when people tell you that apple will replace your battery for free. She was on the phone for about 1.5 hrs getting double talk from apple. Apple will not replace the battery for free but they will sell her one. Looks like they cost $129 from apple. The firmware update corrects an error that may occur, however the techs would have checked the condition of the battery prior to installing a new one. If the battery was questionable, the firmware update was really not too important.
You can check the battery condition by going to the apple, left side of the menu bar, About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Power and see what it says about Cycle Count, Condition, Capacity: Condition anything but Normal needs to be checked and may need to be replaced.
The cycle count of 1,000 charge cycles is the typical life of a Lithium-Ion battery, the point at which the capacity drops to 80% of the as built capacity.

hi i dont know if this will work for anyone but i had not been on itunes for sometime but today i went on to watch a new episode of walking dead but it said i still had to wait 36 days out of the 90days , i managed to get my episode to download load by clicking my apple id in itunes going to account and at the very bottom off the page there is a button that says reset all warnings for buying and downloading i pressed this then it let me download hope this works for you worked for me
