T61 & Bluetooth missing AVRCP Profile

I'm running Windows 7 on a T61 (type 6459) & ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate.  Driver version 6.2.0.9000.
Problem is the driver seems to be missing AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).  Basically I cannot control playback functionality of bluetooth devices from my computer.  If I take the same devices and put them on older ThinkPad R50 also running Windows 7, the profile is there.
I can only infer a few things:
1)  This is a 64-bit edition of Windows 7, perhaps the 64-bit bluetooth driver/stack is missing features the 32-bit version has
2)  This is a different ThinkPad Bluetooth chip than what is in the R50, perhaps the driver features are not bound correctly to the newer hardware
3)  Another Dell computer with a Rocketfish Bluetooth 2.1+EDR USB adapter (also a broadcom Chip, like the thinkpad) has AVCRP in the 64-bit Windows 7 driver.
Any thoughts?

I fixed the problem by installing the Bluetooth driver from the T400 series, v6.2.0.9600.
What doesn't make any sense to me is why isn't this driver released for the R/T series?  According to the release notes, v6.2.0.9600 is the first version that supports Windows 7:
Version 6.2.0.9600
(New) Added support for Windows 7 32-bit, 64-bit.
Version 6.2.0.7900
[Important] Ended support for the following models.
ThinkPad R60, R60e, R61, R61e, R61i
ThinkPad T60, T60p, T61, T61p
ThinkPad X60, X60s, X60 Tablet, X61, X61s, X61 Tablet
ThinkPad Z60m, Z60t, Z61e, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t
ThinkPad Reserve Edition
Note:
For those models, use the old version, 6.1.0.5100, of this package
Lenovo supports Windows 7 on most of those models.  Why does Lenovo kill "enhanced" bluetooth support for those models under Windows 7?  It makes no sense to fully support older ThinkPads with offical WIn7 drivers for every other component except Bluetooth (and the 4-in-1 Memory Card reader, which is another gripe).  It's also not optimal for Lenovo to recommend Win7 users to download a driver package that wasn't created with Win7 in mind; especially when the appropriate drivers exist.

  • Bluetooth adapter for itouch w/ full avrcp profile???

I read somewhere that the Jabra A125s (with internal ipod BT switched off) gives you the full AVRCP profile abilities, not just play pause stop and volume but also next/previous song.
Can anyone confirm this for an ipod touch 2nd gen with firmware 3.0???
    thanks

  • Bluetooth a2dp/avrcp

Ever since a week after the first Iphones were released (when I bought my first one), I've been waiting for Iphone to support bluetooth a2dp/avrcp.
I bought a 3G-S yesterday. I have 3 different a2dp/avrcp products I've paired it with: my Sony car stereo, a Motorola MOTOROKR S9 and a 3rd device (I forget the make/model). All three seem to play the music via a2dp fine. But I cannot get skip-to-next-track and skip-to-beginning-of-track ( |<< and >>| )to work on any of them. Play/pause works on the 2nd and 3rd device, but not on the car stereo. On the car stereo when I hit pause I hear a split-second pause and then it continues playing.
So my question is, does the Iphone 3G-S not support the avrcp protocol or is it buggy?

The iPhone 3GS' Bluetooth profile does not support forward and back, only pause and play via stereo Bluetooth. I had this issue as well, and had to dig around the apple site to find out the supported profiles. My car stereo has the capability to transfer the phonebook contacts to the stereo so you can see a name rather than a phone number; however since the iphone's profile does not support file transfer or sharing I cannot use this feature on my stereo. I hope Apple updates this soon as well as the forward/rewind Bluetooth functionality so I can keep my phone secured in my purse without having to take it out to change the song or see who is calling me while driving.
    Go to this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647
it lists the supported profiles. Pay close attention to the * toward the bottom. It states only pause and play are supported.

  • Missing user profiles in mysites

I have a question about missing user profiles in our Mysites. We have an SP2013 environment with a number of site collections and sub-sites and occasionally, we are finding that some users are missing their profile. If we click on their user name, in a link
on a page or library, we are directed to a plain page with some very basic information, not our typical user profile page that looks more like SP2013 styling.
Even though the profiles are missing, I find that it is easier to add them from PowerShell, through a script, than to go into the central admin and add them manually, however this brings up a question:
Is there a quick and easy way to determine if a user has a profile?
Currently, I run a script that cycles through each user of each group of each web of each site collection, and checks to see whether that account has a profile. The problem here is that this is a very time-consuming process and many accounts get checked
more than twice if they exist in multiple groups. If the user does not have a profile, I create one.
Is there a faster way to determine if a user has a valid profile, rather than running a check on each user every time? With thousands of users, this script will take a long time to run and create a higher than desired load on our server.

In SharePoint 2003 and MOSS 2007 the user profile was created the first time a user accessed the site, but with 2010 that does
not seem to be the case. It either needs to be created through synchronization, programmatically using the API or PowerShell, or it can be created when the user clicks the profile or mysite the first time
If you want to auto-provision the MySites for a the missing users in your case you will need to do this with custom code as
you said you are writing a power shell script more ever it is one time activity so that is good way as well.  You would iterate through the list of users and call either the API, web services, or stsadm if this is a command line script, to create the
    site collections.

  • Missing *.icc profiles

    Hallo,
I've a question to  *.icc Profiles and Adobe Lightroom 3.5. I saved 10 *icc profiles for different types of printing (for example on acrylglas, different photo papers, on aluminium) wich I got from an online printing service. But if I want to select a specific profile for an jpeg export I just got a selection of 6 profiles; 4 profiles are not shown. Any idea why?
    With kind regards
    F. Oerters

    Thanks for Your reply.
I checked the directory - all correct. No profiles under "include" display profiles2
I took another look at the *.icc files - the four missing files are the biggest ones; all 1.830 kb. All other files's size is max. 1.449 kb. Maybe this is the reason that the files are not shown by LR 3.5; maybe they are just to big ?
When I take a look at the  "More like this" Section on this webside - Missing printing profiles seems to be an known problem in LR and PS ?
    Frank
    P.S. (one minute later...)
Searching the forum I found this for a similiar question:
"Those are probably cmyk profiles. Lightroom only supports RGB profiles."
I looked at the details of the *.icc profiles and really all the four missing profiles are uses the CYMK  Gamut.
    I think that's the reason.

  • Missing ICC Profile

Where do I locate missing ICC profile?  Printer will not print photo without it.

You simply reinstall your printer driver. Other than that that could be permissions issues where the profile is not accessible. Still, most printers wil lhappily print without profiles, so I'm certain your printer will, too. you have some reading up to do on your printer settings and color management...

    I'm sorry, I didn't understand your answer.
I've installed the above server driver on PC1.
Additionally, I'm written a Bluetooth MAP client on PC2.
How can I send / recv data from one to another, using this profile?
    Thanks,

  • Does iOS 5 support the Bluetooth Message Access Profile (MAP) for interacting with text messages in Ford Sync?

I'd sure love to take advantage of Ford Sync's ability to read aloud and let me interact with bluetooth text messages by voice.  I had heard rumours that iOS 5 was going to support the Bluetooth Message Access Profile (MAP) like other phone manufacturers, but in my latest update I received while testing and reading other non-Apple sites, that appears not to be the case.
Is this something I'd have to upgrade to the iPhone 4S to otherwise get?
It's not Siri I'm interested in, just this particular feature to allow the phone to interact with my vehicle.  If there's a 3rd party app out there that helps I'm open to that idea too.  Thinking about what my next smart phone's going to be with LTE, and this is weighing in on my decision, lots of enterprise users out there with Ford as their company fleet vehicle too (hint hint!).  A nice way to save lives too for those who refuse to not read/reply to texts while driving (I'm not in that club, but many are).
    Kind Regards,
    Brian

For the public record, here's the feedback I submitted based on Allan's suggestion.  Thank you both, guess I'll just cross my fingers and hope others share their feedback in a positive way to Apple too.
I'd sure love to take advantage of Ford Sync's ability to read aloud and let me interact with bluetooth text messages by voice.  However it requires phones to support the Bluetooth Message Access Profile (MAP) like Android and other phone manufacturers.
Humbly requesting this is something that gets added to a future iOS update.
It's not Siri I'm interested in, just this particular feature to allow the phone to interact with my vehicle by using the vehicles embedded voice and heads-up display commands.
    Advantages:
    (1) Gives one less reason for Apple people to stray to Google
    (2) Saves lives too for those who refuse to not read/reply to texts while driving
    (3) Keeps drivers behaving legally (outside of common sense, many provinces and states have enacted laws to try and protect people against themselves)
    (4) A critical enterprise feature if Apple is attempting to continue to break into that market, most fortune 500 companies that have employees using fleet vehicles use Ford, but frankly other manufacturers coming to market with these features too.
Thanks for consideration around this feature.  If you'd like to understand the use-case more or be pointed to threads in the discussion forum and 3rd party websites begging for this feature, happy to discuss.
    Kind Regards,
    Brian R. Kneebone

  • Aluminum imac 2.4ghz bluetooth missing from system profiler

Now used to have my phone a nokia e61 paired with my imac a few weeks ago i transfered photo across but recently that the bluetooth icon in the menu bar had been grayed out and the system profiler doesn't have any bluetooth info, i've don't a firmware update recently but I don't think that disabled the bluetooth, ideas or help would be much appreciated.
    thanks Ade

As Eustace says, it's likely a hardware fault, although the following suggestion worked for me when I helped my neighbour who lost all BT connectivity on his iMac a while back.
Apart from the Magic Mouse what keyboard do you have - wired or BT?
To do this you might need to use a wired mouse/keyboard just in case you lose your limited BT connectivity and end up not being able to log in. In Macintosh HD>Library>Preferences, do you have this file:
    com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
If so, move it to the desktop and restart. If BT does come back to life this is where you might need the wired mouse/keyboard to get your BT devices re-connected. If this works you can dump the file you moved to the desktop.

  • ICS and Bluetooth AVRCP Profile

I had to flash back to Gingerbread due to the USB tethering wi-fi hotspot issue.  Prior to doing so with ICS I got artist, track and album info displayed on my car stereo when streaming via Bluetooth.
Well that is GONE now (w/ Gingerbread) and I am using a new Sony car stereo I got just after the ICS update in order to have this feature!
SONY MOBILE WHY ARE YOU NOT MAKING ANY COMMENT ON IF THESE ICS BUGS WILL BE FIXED?  These are NOT the performance issues which we were 'warned' about when updating.

  • Windows 8.1 Bluetooth missing from Device Manager

It appears after the latest round of windows automatic updates my native bluetooth device went missing.  It is not visable in the device manager or the control panel settings.   I have downloaded and reinstalled the latest wireless and bluetooth drivers, however I am still unable to view the device.  This is a Yoga Pro 2 (64bit) running the most current Windows 8.1 updates.  The latop has a native bluetooth adaptor which had been working with no issues. I have run services.msc and restarted the associated BT services and they are running. Would appreciate any help.

Are these the drivers that you updated?

  • Bluetooth missing in preferences 10.8.4

when updating my wife's macbook pro 13" mid 2010 to 10.8.4 from 10.7.5.
after the install the blue tooth prefrence is missing within system prefrences.
the same upgrade was installed on my macbook pro 15" and works fine.
I tried copying my system prefence contents and replacing the 13" macbook pro's system contents severl times with no change in the missing bluetooth
prefrence. is this perhaps a module issue or ?
what might be the best way to address this issue ?
p.s my wife loves her bluetooth track pad...
    thanks in advance

The built-in Bluetooth adapter isn't working, and that's why you can't see the preference pane.
There's a slight chance you might be able to fix it by resetting the SMC:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
Otherwise, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.

  • Removing Photoshop Elements 9 caused missing lens profiles in Lightroom 3.3

After my trial on Photoshop Elements 9 expired I removed it from my Windows Vista system.  The next time I started Lightroom 3.3 I tried to apply a Canon lens profile to some new images and the profile was missing, not only was it not on the list, none of the 862 images taken with this lens had the profile applyed to them anymore.  I tried to repair the installation and it failed saying I was missing components.  I then tried to upgrade to RC 3.4 & it failed with the same message.  I finally thought it might have been caused by the removal of Photoshop Elements so I went to the restore point that it did prior to removal.  Now I have the lens profile back that was missing the Canon EF28-135mm profile as well as to the other 862 images.  My question is should there be anything else I should look for to see if it is missing or damaged?  Thanks - Larry

    Larry,
The common part between LR and PSE is the Camera Raw part (ACR). It's settings are contained in 2 different locations:
    1) General ACR configuration files:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw
This directory contains lens and camera profiles installed with LR
    2) User related configuration files:
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw
    This directory usually contains:
    Downloaded/created lens profiles
ACR defaults (like ACR cache size, any defaults set in LR)
    Downloaded/created camera profiles
You might want to check the content of those 2 locations. One other alternative would be to uninstall and re-install LR, which should take care of the factory supplied profiles.

  • Canon 60D w/ EF-S 15-85 IS USM missing lens profile in Lightroom 4

This is a Canon kit combination and it seems odd that it's not included in the Canon profile for lens correction.  The EF-S 10-22 IS USM is there which is not a kit lens and quite expensive.  Am I missing a step or do I have to download additional lenses from Adobe?  I'd rather not get into downloading someone's guess from the profile creator if I can avoid it.

It is included, but it's a raw-only profile.
There are also two on the downloader, one of which I produced.  It has nothing to do with guessing.
