T61 - Did using the SATA ultrabay corrupt my XP install?

Detailed explanation follows, but the executive summary version:
Can't boot from the HDD in the machine if the CD bay is inserted. With the SATA ultrabay installed instead, I can only get a normal boot from the SATA bay HDD, not the normal drive. Are there are any known issues using 2 bootable XP HDDs in the machine and in the ultrabay at the same time?
I bought a new Hitachi HDD, installed it in the TP61 and have spent lots of time tweaking, configuring, removing and installing apps. Was almost ready to do a backup (of course!) and remembered some downloaded file data I wanted on my previous Seagate drive. I swapped out the CD ultrabay and booted from the old Seagate in the SATA ultrabay, copied the data to the new Hitachi and rebooted which I had done before in this process...BUT, this time I forgot to reinsert the CD ultrabay before rebooting so the TP61 booted from the Hitachi with the Seagate present in the Ultrabay. It booted with a partial desktop but appeared to hang on installing drivers for the new "found" hardware which I think was the ultrabay.
I finally got the machine shut down, replaced the CD bay, but the Hitachi would not boot just getting the blue boot screen, play the Win login sound, then play the win shutdown sound and just loops through playing this login/logoff sounds process (I had autologin set via tweakXP) until I power it off. Found web references to login/logoff boot loops but no solution worked. A retail XP CD booting from the ultrabay with repair option can not find a hard drive. It won't boot into safemode. If I reinstall the SATA HDD bay again and select it to boot from, it boots fine from it and can see the Hitachi drive. Rebooting with the Hitachi again selected as the boot device will now boot if the Seagate is present, but it seems to get a "mix" of the XP installed on the Seagate and the XP installed on the Hitachi
Each machine is partitioned with a primary for the OS, and extensions for the apps and the data i.e. C, D, & E along with the hidden recovery partition. When I boot with the Hitachi I see the desktop as configured for the Hitachi, but the C boot drive is really from the Seagate. Using diskmgmt, I see Seagate is disk0 with C, G and H drives while the Hitachi is disk1 as the D, E, and F drives.
Whew, did that makes sense? Short of reinstalling from scratch again, is there a way to get the installed Hitachi HDD back as the C, D, and E drives? Is it completely toast or is their some boot/configuration setting that could be tweaked to make things good again? Perhaps a registry entry that got hosed? I'm out of ideas. Thanks much

I really become desperate with this one. I know, it's mentioned hundred times in the web, and it really works when you use a force deployment, but my simple question is: Why?
To explain my issue: We have several SharePoint 2010 solutions which we want to deploy to SharePoint 2013 with Visual Studio 2012 running on Windows Server 2012. Site solutions work. But farm solutions just don't. I get the error (you
guessed it): A feature with ID 15/... has already been installed in this farm. Use the force attribute to explicitly re-install the feature.
And it does really work with the force attribute, but why on earth do you have to use the force flag? Something has to be different, and if there is an already installed feature with this ID, then why can Visual Studio not uninstall or
deactivate it by itself first? This error never occurred with SharePoint 2010 and VS2012, although features are already installed.

The built in Maps apps requires a data connection to download mapping data. So, if you want to avoid data costs, you need to purchase a navigation app that stores the data locally on your phone.

Why would you want to spend $1700 on a SATA enclosure
and then be "cheap" on the SATA host adapter to run
it? This expensive 5 bay uses FW800 or SATA. Why not
use FW800 if you don't have a SATA host adapter.
I'm not trying to be cheap here. As I said, I have no PCI slots available. I use Pro Tools HD3 & all my slots are full. I will use FW800 if needed, but speed of SATA would be great.

This might be a duplicate-I neglected to click submit-so am trying again.
Since I upgraded to v. 31, my location bar makes me type the address in exactly, or else it says not a valid address. I guess somewhere the awesome bar got lost. Also, my search box does not have any search engines listed at all. Back around v. 29 I added the classic theme restorer addon, but did not think that would have affected the location and search bars as it upgraded. Any help you can give me will really be appreciated. I have worked on this for days. At one, time the location bar was gone completely.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

I cannot install itunes from the apple site .. it keeps saying the software is corrupted and cannot install correctly.. help!!!

I have tried to install the software from several sites including the apple site and they all say that the software is corrupted and did not install correctly to delete and reinstall. this seems unlikely as it has been weeks since I have been retrying the sites with the same results...is there an apple download that will check my pc for any errors that may be keeping the itunes from installing.. or is there anything else i can do to fix the issue.. its unlikely that itunes could stay corrupted for so ling without noticing it and fixing the issue..thank you...

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I used to send photos from my Lumix Tz-40 camera directly to my iPad using the camera's WIFI. It was all working well until I installed IOS7. The connection no longer works. The camera still keeps the iPad in its connection history. The camera's wifi network still appears when I select a WiFi network from the iPad but the Wifi status icon never appears on the iPad. So the connection is never made.
Anyone got any ideas. I have already installed the latest version of Panasonic's Image App (1.7.1)

You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.

Yes, you can use an external drive. To upgrade, however, means:
Purchase Snow Leopard DVD then update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8.
Access the App Store with your Apple ID and purchase and download Lion.
Your computer must meet system requirements:

Mac computer with an Intel processor
1GB of memory
5GB of available disk space
DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.

Black retail disks work on other Macs but grey disks supplied with Macs only work on that model.
With a grey disk you may be able to install on the correct Mac and clone it to another Mac with Carbon Copy Cloner.

I am trying to install after effects, but no matter what version I try to download, there is always a different error not allowing me to open or use the program after I have already installed it.

I have recently repurposed an iMac from late 2009 as an editing machine, and have been trying to install preferably After Effects CS6. When I install and try to open it for the first time, the program quits unexpectedly and continues to do the same every time I try to reopen the program. After no luck experimenting trying to fix the problem, I attempted to download the trial of After Effects CC 2014 to see if the problem was with the computer or with the application. After installing CC, there was another error when I attempted to open it. My final attempt was taking After Effects CS5 from an old hard-drive and attempting to open it on the iMac. When I open CS5 I am greeted with another error message telling me to reinstall After Effects. After reinstalling I get the same message.
I am confused to whether my computer can handle After Effects, or there is another error occurring.
Any help would be appreciated.

It's not really a matter of licensing in this case. The SQL server installation is not "Included with" Configuration Manager as a Primary or Central Administration site requires a full version of SQL Server. This link can give you a bit more info

Mavericks 10.9.2 crashes when using the latest version of FF. Installed twice.

My machine literally crashes within a few minutes of starting the latest version of FF. I deleted the installation and re-installed and the behavior repeated itself. The machine does not crash immediately upon starting FF. I can't tell you exactly what I do that causes the crash because after the 8 the time, I don't really want to restart FF.
