T61: what kind of fan should I buy, there are 3 kinds of fans?

I bought this T613 years ago, now it's very noisy, i wanna replace my fan, but I can not find that kind of fan to buy.
my lappy info is as belows:
product :766014A. S/N:xxxxxxx
And I bought in Singapore, and now the fan was very noisy, i wanna replace one, but i can not find the exact my fan, they all look alike, but not the same.
P.S. My lappy has one IBM logon the lower right corner, I guess this is the last one which has IBM logon on it.

Hi, liougehooa
If the fan is running at high speed, yet the temperature is low. Probably, you could try TPFanControl to lower down the fan speed to reduce noise.
Cheers
Peter

Buy an external drive 320G or larger (much larger is preferable). I do not recommend you use TM for this, instead download a copy of Carbon Copy Cloner and make a clone of your drive. Once this is done you have 2 choices, you can download and install Lion on your internal drive just as you planned or download and install Lion to the external clone, the 2nd method allows you to test the Lion install before committing to it. If the clone with Lion is to your liking then just clone it back to the internal.

  • What 2T external HD should I buy for my macbook pro for photos, videos and music storage?

    Hello friends!!
What 2T external HD should I buy for my macbook pro for photo, music and videos storage?
    Thank U!!

My personal preference is for the OW, http://www.macsales.com Mercury Elite Pro quad-interface drive...have four of them of the 2 TB size and they are very good performers.  The quad-interface allows you a choice of ways to connect, eSata, Firewire 800/400, USB which is very convenient.  OWC is a Mac specialist so everything has been tested and guaranteed to be Mac compatible.

  • What type of interface should I buy for Roland XP60, Logic iMac set up?

    Happy New Year guys!
I've been having problems finding a suitable interface for my set up. The guy at gtr ctr told me to buy Uno Midi to USB cable and that's not right. I still want to record sounds from my Roland and use it to trigger sounds in Logic Express. The Apogee duet seems cool but that won't help me either.
    Please HELP!!!!
    LRay

The cable should be fine but it will only record midi information into LE when you have an audio instrument selected. You can record the audio output from your Roland using the right cable to connect its audio outs to the audio in on your mac. To record both at the same time you would need both connected and an audio and midi (ie "audio instrument") track selected and record enabled.
If some of this terminology is difficult read the getting started guide and sections on audio and midi in the manual. Your Roland can be recorded as a synth obviously, as well as act as a controller keyboard and both of these functions work in different ways within logic.
You could also output your recorded midi to your roland to play back directly from your synth...
Ideally it would be good to have an audio/midi interface of some kind as you are suggesting - there are many, many, many to choose from, though in theory what you already have you should be able to get working.

  • What cat 5e cable should one buy?

    Some good info here
    http://www.howtogeek.com/70494/what-kind-of-ethernet-cat-5e6a-cable-should-i-use/
    mainly depends on your requirements...
If you are buying a lot then maybe go for cat6a which will help in the long run if going 1gb..

I came across a post asking whether people buy cheap network cables or premium cables and it was an interesting question which raised another question.
One thing that I picked up was to make sure that the cables were not CCA (Copper Cladded Aluminium) which apparently is bad.
However, the post did not really cover what what should be looking for in a patch lead.
Should it be AWG26 or AWG24.  Should one use booted or non booted or strain relief for cabinets and connecting computers to network port.  What other considerations should one take into account?
    Any thoughts?

  • It seems that my Office 2008 is incompatible with the Yosemite OS that my friend just installed on my iMac. My Word no longer works. Also, I can't access messages on Entourage. What version of Office should I buy?

My friend installed OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on my iMac. Since then, I can barely use my Miocrsoft Word 2008.  The spinning pinwheel, things freezing up, template and formatting trouble, and I can't get any Entourage messages more than a year old, which is a disaster.  I read that Yosemite won't support Word 2008. What Microsoft Update should I buy, and will that fix my problems?  I am desperate. Thank you in advance for your help.  Here is the result I got from EtreCheck. I hope this helps you help me.  BTW, your drop-down menu under Operating System doesn't work

Remove Office 2008 for Mac using Microsoft deinstall procedure. Reinstall Office 2008 for Mac.  If there are updates, apply them. Using Disk Utility, verify/repair permissions on your boot drive.
Does Office for Mac 2008 now work correctly? If not, you may want to repeat the above first sentence, and then update to Office for Mac 2011, and apply the latest (14.4.8) update which has Yosemite fixes.

  • What brand of SSD should i buy for my macbook pro 13 early 2011

im interesting in upgrade my early 2011 macbook pro 13inch ... what brand of memory ram and ssd should i buy? having in consideration speed, and quality, issues free.
    thnak you
sorry for my bad english ..

    Maximum Memory
16 GB (Actual) 8 GB (Apple)
    Memory Slots
    2 - 204-pin PC-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
    I recommend buying RAM from:
    OWC
    DataMem
    Crucial.com
I would stick to SSDs like the OCZ Vertex 3, Samsung 840, or OWC Mercury 6G. You may also care to look at the DataDoubler from OWC. A bracket that lets you install both an SSD and your existing HDD in the optical bay by removing the DVD drive.

Hello. I have broken my 1280x800 LCD on T410 2518-EQG and want to buy new via eBay. There are 2 pairs of models: 42T0729 (1280x800) (1, 2) and 42T0431 (1440x900) (1, 2). Will 1440x900 model work on my laptop? Which of 2 items should I buy?
    Sorry for my English.
    Thanks.

    Hello mate,
I'm not sur the WXGA+ will work as the good part foryour model is 42T0729. Lenovo put a whitelist in the machine which generate an error if the part don't have the good FRU.
The only way to go around that is hacking the BIOS whic allow you to put any spare part you want but it will void your warranty.

  • What Mac and Features should I buy for filmmaking?

I'm going to be attending filmschool in the fall and I will be buying my first Mac(for use with final cut pro) What should I get with what features? Right now it seems like the Mac Pro is the only way to go. I want something profesional that I'll be able to use professionally after I graduate. I'll be making a bunch of shorts and a feature over the next 3 years with it. What processor speed, memory, hard drive(s), Graphics Card, Display, and other features should I order when customizing it? What should I buy seperately? (the monitor for example?) I don't want to spend more money than I have to, but I also don't want to sacrifice what I need for a cheaper price. Any suggestions? I'm looking for detailed recomendations of what setup I should get. Also does anyone know what I can use from my pc with it? Are my internal hard drives compatible with it? Oh, and I want to be able to run windows on it too, so I can run software that isn't mac compatible. Thanks for your help.

    Greetings,
I'll be attending the MFA program in filmmaking at the New York Film Academy in LA. <</div>
    Way to go... good luck
Ive heard that if I buy the monitors seperately that I should find two with 1920x1200 resolution, contrast ratio of at least 1000/1, and responce time of under 5 ms. <</div>
I really can not agree with that. I think it's a bit of an overkill. I run 20" Cinema at 1680x1050 and 17" Studio at 1280x1024 and it works perfectly. I can not imagine that video work would require anything more. I remember people editing in FCP on iMac and 15"CRT without any problems...
Also, is it a good idea to get two internals from apple and then an external for transfers, or should I just get the 250 gig and an external? How much space total will be a good place to start for school? <</div>
Given the HD prices nowadays, you can always add more drives. External for transfer is a good idea. At least 160G. Internals you could easily add another 500G later. As you know, MacPro has for slots internaly. You can easily save some for later 250G to start and an external at least 160G, and than later you can add and RAID two more 500Gs as a scratch... the possibilities are endless...
And how different from working with a pc is installing memory and other hardware on a mac? Pretty much the same? <</div>
Extremely easy. You can add memory and drives within minutes. Just make sure you follow the directions (memory directions are even printed inside of the front panel) and discharge any electrical static from your body (a simple static discharge wristband is highly recommendable). When installing memory make sure to follow the recommended configurations for different sizes.
Oh, and I might be a newb for asking this but whats a RAID, and what do I need to set it up? < </div>
RAID = Redundant Array of Independent (Inexpensive) Drives/Disks
Basically, it is combining multiple drives into a single unit, either in hardware or in software for the sake of gaining in speed and transfer OR data protection.
Search the forum for RAID, and you will find many useful information.
    Best wishes,
    H.

  • What all-in-one should I buy?

I hardly ever print or scan anything any more, but sometimes it's essential (monthly accounts, etc). I'd say I print something once or twice a week.
I need an all-in-one that works perfectly, is cheap, looks nice, doesn't use gallons of ink, has a driver that works with Leopard, and in short presents absolutely no problems of any kind and does the job without letting me down.
Is that asking too much? Aren't we in the 21st. century?
    I'd welcome recommendations.

I bought a Cannon MP530 several years ago for my home computer and was so impressed with it I bought another for my office. Like you, I infrequently need to color print, scan, photocopy or fax anything (maybe once per week), but when I need it, it has worked flawlessly. It’s also dirt simple to set up and use. That’s especially good because my memory isn’t as good as it used to be, but this all-in-one interface is so user friendly, I’ve never had a problem, even if it’s been weeks since I last scanned something.
I had my assistant (who is strictly a PC user) make scanned copies with my Cannon using a Mac. Within a half hour, she was back with the several dozen scanned copies. Like that Geico caveman commercial says, ‘It’s so easy, even a PC user can do it.’
A colleague bought a newer version of the Cannon MP series and he really likes it too. I think mine looks pretty good, but the new one looks even better. And I think the newer one is even easier to use than my older ones.
I don’t think there are many cheap inkjet cartridges for any type printer, but I’ve replaced each of my color packs only once and I think I’ve replaced the black cartridges twice in each of my all-in-one devices.
Both my Cannon machines worked flawlessly with Tiger and when I upgraded to Leopard.
This is the only all-in-one I’ve used so I can’t give you comparison information. I selected this one based on a Consumer Reports recommendation.
From what I’ve seen on these forums, a lot of people seem to have problems with HP devices using a Mac. The only glitch I’ve had is that the phone line is shared with my home phone and if someone calls, the fax feature answers it. So I leave the phone line to it disconnected until I need to fax something or I know someone is going to fax something to me. I think the manual tells how to share a phone line with the fax, but I haven’t bothered to read it yet.

  • What type of server should I buy?

I currently have a Windows SBS 2003 server.  I am a health care provider with 25 computers.  We have used an application that has been a DOS based program for years.  We are getting ready to convert over to a cloud based practice management
system.  We will still need to run our DOS based program for at least two years.  The DOS program runs on a 32bit not a 64 bit.  We have 8 computers running XP.  So I have asked my local IT guy of 20 years what he thinks we should
go to next.  I also got a quote from a different IT company.  Of course they are recommending two different things I do not know what I should do.
My local guy wants to install 8 new computers with windows 8 (which my boss does not want) and all my other13 computers have Windows 7 Professional. Then he wants to install for my server SBS 2011 Standard for emailing we would use Exchange 2010.
The SBS 2003 server is an exchange server but he never set up the email portion.
This other IT company wants to install windows server 2012 standard edition R2and he would install Vmware esx 5.5 virtual server platform so that I can have 1 computer in my office that  would run an Opto 32 bit server and then use a
different "server" to run my new practice management system which is a cloud based system. Plus file share anything else I want to setup.  Then he wants to install Windows 7 pro on the new 8 workstaions that we need.
The quotes are about the same but I feel that I am getting more for my money with the new guy and the ability to grow. As well as maybe better security and reliability. HIPAA wants your system to have bitlocker disk encryption software.  Not sure which
    system has that.
Please advise I know very little about computers so when my IT guy talks he wants to talk me out of the virtual platform and I think it is because he doesn't have that much experience with the set up.   Virtual server is not a hosted virtual server.
    It is just the platform

    Hi Alexandre,
Seems like digicert ucc certificate is costly. Earlier I used them for a year then switched to Godaddy. Its time for renewal as godaddy certificate expires in few days. Recently one of my customer referred me this cheaper price UCC certificate
    at https://www.ssl2buy.com/comodo-multi-domain-ssl.php
I checked list of recommended certificate authorities by Microsoft and comodo is there, so I don't have any question about compatibility. I found this ssl2buy is comodo reseller and offer ucc certificate just for $45 discount price (regular price is $60).
I reviewed this reseller reputation and it seems good and also contacted their live support and seems everything legit.
I tried their product and it seems 100% compatible in exchange environment. I used .local domain names to add in UCC certificate but later I recognized (advised by their support team) that CA/B forum depreciated .local names in SSL.
Do you recommend we should stop accessing server with .local and hostname?

See this page for the official minimum system requirements for Premiere Pro.
See this page for the official minimum system requirements for After Effects.

    As David and Hal said
One thing to consider is that you may also want SATA capability (which you can do with G5 towers easily, the dual cores have cards available or will shortly) and also shortly (fingers cross) for the MacBooks (there are cards for PowerBooks.)
The only possible fly in the ointment is if you are going to hold onto these computers for awhile, with the Intel Chips the non-Intels will eventually have less support and software. Though for the short term (particularly if you are relying on non-Intel native apps and need peak performance) the Quad G5s are great.

  • What audio interface (portable) should I buy?

    Hi,
Going overseas to record a singer. I have MIDI files on computer, haven't recorded live audio yet.
Which has best sound? Or should I just deal with decent demo quality sound? Portability seems great... though, need something I guess I can record with at home (piano, drum set)...
    Suggestions? Thanks! Happy New Year!

Metric Halo is also worth mentioning if you're interested in HiEnd stuff. I've been using their interfaces quite a bit and they are really solid and sound good. Overall a really good value. If you look at these be aware there are versions with and without onboard DSP, which can change an interface's cost by $400-$500 or so on these units. 2882 has mid range preamps and uln 2 has great pres, conversion is the same.
