T61 will not complete recovery process

I have a Lenovo T61 with windows XP that crashed and died. I am trying to get it to recover to factory install using the discs supplied my lenovo. I can get it to complete disc 6 but then on reboot it freezes when trying to load the ram disk or it loads the ram disk and then freezes on the windows setup screen.
I have tried 3 different hard drives, I have run system system checks including ram and cpu and they passed, and I have tried in bot sata and ata hard drive modes. I have done a bios update and I have tried running the recovery via a usb caddy. None of this works.  If anyone have any ideas  I would very much appreciate any help you can give me.

the discs maybe faulty, and you would need to call lenovo service, and obtain a new set of discs.

  • File exports stuck at 95% will not complete exporting process in Final Cut  X or Compressor.  Is there a fix?

In Final Cut X and Compressor 4 when outputting files the processing stops at 95%, and will not complete the job.  This happens with all of various export options except export media to a QuickTime file.  Anyone have an idea what could be causing this problem?
I have the most current iMac running the latest version of Lion.

I have tried everything, including starting threads here on the Apple Discussion Boards and on Creative Cow, etc. The 95% STALL is a bug.  What I have done is to create a hard drive with LION on it, then, when I want to use Compressor I reboot from that hard drive in Lion and then Compressor works fine.  It is a Mountain Lion issue, that is when it all started for me.
I thought the new update to Compressor, 4.0.5, would solve this and was really bummed when it didn't.
It would be great if someone (APPLE????) could figure this out......!!!!!

  • Battery removed from ipod touch, will not complete recovery

the battery died a long time ago on my ipod touch 32gb, think it is 1st or 2nd gen, when i plug the ipod in it still lights up and works but asks me to plug it into itunes, when i do that itunes says i need to restore it but when i start the restore process the apple logo reappears on the ipod then it dies and i get an error message from itunes, usually unknown error 1604 or 1603, sometimes 1611. all i want to do is leave my ipod plugged into a dock to play music without the ipod having a battery will this work, surely there must be a way if it's still showing the screen when plugged in

hi thanks for your reply, i tried all of the things on this page already and still no luck, itunes goes into preparing ipod for recovery, the screen on the ipod switches from telling me to connect to itunes, to the apple logo for about 10-20 seconds then the screen on the touch dies and the update either fails or just sticks on preparing bar
    really quite annoying this

  • Video downloads content, but then will not complete download process.

I have emailed this problem to tech support quite a few times and get crazy answers. It appears that they don't actually read my email. They look at a couple of words and send me a form email.
    Background:
    I can download music.
I have also downloaded music videos successfully.
    I use a cable modem.
I have over 15G of memory left on my computer.
I have made sure the anti-virus firewall and Windows XP firewalls allow iTunes files through.
I close all other programs before downloading, am not uploading stuff to my ipod while downloading, and am not playing music while downloading.
    The Problem:
I am trying trying to download Season 2 of Desperate Housewives. It will download an episode and add the ID3 files. I can go look at the file that is being created and see that it is increasing in memory. In the end, the video file does not save. iTunes moves on to trying to save another episode. I end up with all of these 0 byte files in the "downloads" folder that is in my iTundes music folder. I have tried deleting these files and downloading the season again. No luck. If I let this process keep running, I get an error message telling me that I have timed out. My internet does not time out...does iTunes time out?
Please help if you know what I might be able to do. The emails from tech support do not help. They just tell me things I have already done or already know.
    Gateway Desktop   Windows XP

I was having the same problem and got the exactly same responce from tech support, ( the tech support is a joke) Here is what I finally did to get mine to work, the probleml was with my company firewall,
    These steps worked for me:
    Go under EDIT
    Click on Preferences
    Click on Advance Tab
    Under Itunes Music Location,
Hit Change and write down the locaton incase the new locaton does not work for you.
Under temp hit the New Folder button
Delete the old location ( you might not need to do this )
    Type in new location
    I used the following: C:\TEMP\Itunes
Hit the ok and it will take a few minutes to move all your libary to new location
    Go back to Advance
Click on the Check for Purchased
This worked for me and I hope this helps you out
My personal opinion is that we pay big money for these IPODS and Apple cant even support us .....What a shame!!

  • Lightroom 5 (64-bit) Import from Another Catalog... will not complete.

Ok, here is the situation.  I have a LR4.4 cataloge that contains thousands of edits and all my publish services. File size is 1.2Gb.  I used the LR5 beta and would like to import the edits from that catalog as well as the edits and services from the LR4 catalog.
Here is what I have tried.  Open the LR4 catalog in LR5, tell it to upgrade the catalog for use with LR5.  This step works without any issues and the edits and services are present.  Now I tell LR5 to import from another catalog and select the LR5 beta catalog.  LR begins processing but will never complete.  Once it gets to checking for changes in duplicates it seems to hang.  Checking the Windows Task Manager reveals that LR5 is still processing, but I have let it sit for over a day and it will not complete the process.  I have also optimized both catalogs before attempting the import again, but that seemed to have no effect.
The system should have plenty of processing power being that it is an overclocked 6 core Phenom II running at 4.25GHz with 16GB of RAM, but it seems to just never finish.
    Ideas?

If that doesn't work I don't know what to suggest.
If that doesn't work, Dax_Morgan can use WreckHover to recover develop settings from the troublesome catalog. Note: it won't get any other metadata nor collections etc., and if Dax already has fresh xmp, that might be a preferred option. But, just so ya know...

Thank you for your response.  I will do better next time. I will check the image size. Hopefully that will resolve the issue.

My MacBookPro (mid 2012) will not complete the boot process. Yosemite's progress widget gets about 1/3 to 1/2 way across when the logo disappears and the screen goes all white for 10-15 secs, then the machine shuts down and restarts. This sequence will repeat seemingly forever unless I shut it down manually.
I upgraded to Yosemite from Mountain Lion a couple months ago, skipping Maverick completely, and I've done any associated updates that Apple told me about. I don't recall which version of Yosemite I have, but I'm sure it is the "latest and greatest".
I've tried re-starting in Safe Mode / Safe Boot and that does the same thing as described above except without the endless restarts. Instead of restarting at some point, SafeBoot proceeds to the white screen and then it hangs until I restart it manually. (I've waited as long os 20-30 minutes with no response).
When I tried the option-command-p-r key combo I never get any chimes or other noises besides the original 1 time boot sound that you would expect to get when starting up a macbook pro.
I was using the mac quite normally (meaning I was doing work I normally do on it and there was no indication of anything wrong) immediately prior to this happening.
The machine is BootCamp(ed) with Windows 8.1 which I use from a VMWare virtual machine instead of natively so that I can have both OSes running at the same time. I also think this is unrelated to my problem. I have been using this setup for more than 2 years.
My upgrade to Yosemite was uneventful and I thought it went well and was very smooth. I don't want to lead attention away from Yosemite, but at this point my problem does not seem related to the upgrade.
    Any help is appreciated.

Install or Reinstall OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • HT204406 My iTunes Match will not complete Step 3 of the uploading process. Many songs are "waiting"

My iTunes Match will not complete Step 3 of the uploading process. I have over 700 "items" designated as "waiting." I have restarted multiple times but it stalls at this point.

I've been reading all these comments about how match is not working and people are having problems uploading all their songs.  My problem is more basic than that.  When I open iTunes I immediately get the spinning color disc of death and I can't do anything at all.  I can't go to the store.  I can't listen to a song. I can't do anything.  I just tried to sync my iPod.  I pugged it into my computer, iTunes started up, looked like it was going to sync, then the spinning disc again.  So forget match; I can't do anything, nada, nothing.   I even tried to send my iTunes application to trash, but I got a message saying I couldn't do that because it was needed for OS X.  Talk about a do loop, this is unbelievable.
Is anyone else having the problem I am having?

  • Recovery will not complete w500p

I have recently purchased a used Iconia W500P tablet. I purchased the recovery media from the Acer store. THE RECOVERY WILL NOT COMPLETE and my husband is ready to break the tablet in half. It gets to 99% on updating system and just freezes.

I have. I did a hard shut down and let it go ahead and start installing like it had completed. It then goes through installing all devices and starts doing the 35 different installations. It make it to 27/35 in cleanup and locks up again. After another hard shutdown, it will finally start, but the touchscreen does not work. It worked before I did the restore. I just wanted to start with factory settings and get rid of the crap the previous owner had loaded on the tablet.

  • Recovery will not complete. Gets stuck on Configuring screen

L505D-ES5025 Lap top. The speakers and USB ports were not working. After trying to download drivers with no success, I decide to recover the system to factory default software.  It will not complete. I left it from 4:30pm yesterday to this morning and It is still stuck on that screen.  I forced a shutdown and opened windows safe mode with command prom and ran CHKDSK, and it said there were no problems with the disk. Can someone help me?

I have had this problem L505D-LS5007for many months and have sent the laptop to Toshiba Repair 3 times under warranty and it kept coming back as hardware failure and that they replaced the system board.  Once the hard drive was replaced as well as the system board.  The last time I sent it in, it kept running for several months. I believe that the problem starts when Microsoft does an update.  I am guessing that the hardware is NOT supported by Microsoft Windows 7 out of the box software and Toshiba has used their special drivers software to configure some of the non standard Windows 7 hardware for this particular laptop version.  Probably to slip Windows 7 into a machine that they had in stock and needed to sell. When a Microsoft update comes along, the hardware is reconfigured improperly for the  L505D-LS5007 hardware configuration.  I also think that this may cause a hardware failure as the configuration is wrong and causing something to overheat. As I try to restore, the high speed fan is always on and the exhause sire from the fan is hot.  I am at a loss too how to fix this problem.  Same problem, no USB, no speakers cannot complete restore. Hardware? Probably due to a software problem that caused the failure. I wonder if XP 64 bit would work?  Anyone try that? Of course if the hardware has failed, another OS will not help. Too bad we just happened to buy a good laptop that was not meant for Windows 7 platform.

  • 3rd gen iPod will not complete the RESTORE process with new Hard Drive

I have an 3rd gen iPod and I have replaced the hard drive with a newer MK2006GAL. The drive formats fine with a USB cable, formating Mac OS Extended Journaled. It will not complete a "restore" when connected via FireWire in iTunes or with any ipod updater utility. this happens on any mac (we have several). It will not even see the iPod updater when connected via USB and it says MUST CONNECT WITH A FIREWIRE CABLE. It will not format with Disk Utility when connected with the Apple FireWire cable only USB. This is the second new hard drive I have tried. I thought the first "replacement drive" was bad. Turns out it must be something else. Does this sound like a bad battery or motherboard or bad FireWire cable to you? The connectors look fine (under magnification). other problems, while this iPod will not Restore properly, it also will not turn off.
Would like to know if anyone else has seen this trouble.
    thanks.

  • When I plug in my iPhone to sync, it starts but does not complete the process and several pieces of data are not being transferred to my iPhone from my MacBook Air.

    Problem:
When I plug in my iPhone to sync, it starts but does not complete the process and several pieces of data are not being transferred to my iPhone from my MacBook Air.
Any help that you can provide in helping my iPhone accurately sync with iPhoto and iTunes will be greatly appreciated.
    Symptoms:
    1)   Sync:  It’s not completing the sync.  Below, I’ve provided all of my settings from the iTunes Summary tab so that you might tell me if I’ve selected any incorrect options.  I prefer to sync the “old school” way – by connecting to the computer – as opposed to syncing over the cloud. Perhaps this is what’s causing the problem? Here is a list of the steps displayed in the iTunes window as the sync progresses:
waiting for sync to start (step 1 of 7)
backing up (step 2 of 7)
preparing to sync (step 3 of 7)
determining apps to sync (step 4 of 7)
preparing apps to sync (step 5 of 7)
importing photos (step 6 of 7)
waiting for changes to be applied (step 7 of 7)
syncing apps / copying 1 of 4 (App name) (step 7 of 7)
    canceling sync
    apple icon
    2)   Photos: I've selected only certain of my iPhoto albums to sync to my iPhone.  All of the albums are correct/complete in iPhoto.  All of the albums are listed on my iPhone, both before and after the sync, but the albums are empty (no actual photos) before and after the sync. Perhaps this is tied to the fact that the sync isn’t completing, but because “importing photos” is one of the steps that the incomplete sync displays, I don’t know.
    3)   Apps: When I launch iTunes and click on the Apps folder under the Library listing, then click on the Updates tab, iTunes searches for any Apps needing to be updated and provides a list.  If I click on Update All, the Apps are successfully updated in iTunes.  But, when I plug in my iPhone so that the updates will transfer to the apps on my iPhone, the updates don’t transfer to the apps on my iPhone and those apps still reflect that they need updating on the iPhone.
    Other Potential Pertinent Info:
The flash memory hard drive on my MacBook Air recently died (perhaps a month or two ago).  Apple had emailed me about a known issue and literally the next day, my MacBook Air crashed.  I installed a new flash memory drive and re-installed everything from a backup off of an external hard drive.  Everything seems to be working fine; it recreated accurately all of my software and data, including iPhoto and iTunes, the pictures and songs (respectively) for which are stored on that hard drive, as opposed to being on the flash memory in the MacBook Air itself.  However, I don’t recall if the start of the sync problem described herein started happening at the same time that I replaced the flash memory drive.  All I know is that the computer is working perfectly in all respects and that even as the sync is failing, it at least says that it’s doing the right things and looking in the right places (e.g., the list of albums on my iPhone matches the list of albums in iTunes, etc.).
    Settings/Status:
    MacBook Air
    OSX v. 10.9
    iPhoto ’11 v. 9.5 (902.7)
    iPhone iOS 7.0.4
    iTunes v. 11.1.3 (8)
    Summary Tab
    Backups (This Computer)
    Options
Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected
Sync only checked songs and videos
    Photos Tab
Sync Photos from iPhoto (429 Photos)
Selected albums, Events, and Faces, and automatically include (no Events)
    Albums – 9 are selected

You need to download iTunes on your computer. iOS 6 requires the latest version of iTunes which is 10.7.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
