T61P Vista AC power status light off

Despite buying a new brick. And holding power button down for 10 seconds. Ideas? Was getting BSOD, maybe overheat.

Oh, and the computer is totally dead as well. Power switch problem? Burnt out everything? What part of the system apparently stops power from the brick from getting to the ac power status light?

Bridge Mode Status Light Off

I have a brand new Aiport Extreme that I've setup for the office. It was happy as a clam while taking it's upstream connection straight from a staticly configured gateway. However, when it was moved behind a router and switched to bridge mode, it seems to have a lot of trouble.
The Airport will function, but the status light is completely off. It will blink amber when starting up (as expected), but then shutoff when running.
It will occasionally fail to connect new clients, or will show "no internet connection" for reconnecting clients. This usually takes a full reboot to get everything working for most people again.
Finally, it will occasionally drop the usb connected backup drive, but this could be mounting/unmounting issues with the drive itself.
Is there some configuration in the upstream switch that we're missing, or does it just not like Bridge Mode?

Probably a coincidence, but the status light should always be on and green if the AirPort is configured correctly.
The light will blink amber if the Extreme has an available firmware upgrade or a setting is not adjusted properly.
The status light should never be off....unless you have the device unplugged.
Suggest that you exchange the defective AirPort Extreme for another device.

Status lights off?

On XRAID, The left bank has all four status lights as green. power, fans, tmep, link.
the right bank only has a green link light. the lights for power, fans, temp are not on at all. everything is working fine, and RAID ADMIN shows everything functioning.
any ideas?

I had this exact same issue. I powered down the XRAID and unplugged it, and powered it back on and the other bank of lights came on.

AppleTV Status Light Off

On my AppleTV 2nd Generation, the status light is always off. This just happened. It seems to function OK, but I would like the light to work for status information. I have unplugged and replugged it. I have also reset it. The light is still out. What can I do?

Could try unplugging it, leave it for 10 seconds and plug it back in.

Not sure of what you mean by this, are you able to navigate to the screen to try to do a factory restore, or does it not do anything at all. What is displayed on the tv. Could it be the fuse (Do you have fuses in the plugs in the US).
Only other thought is that the remote has got swapped with another or the pairing could have been corrupted. Perhaps a quick look at the manual about pairing and unpairing remotes might be worth a go.

Shuffle 3g status lights off when the device is playing

did the led fail in my ipod or does the firmware switch off the status lights when the unit has been playing for a while? mine is playing just fine right now but there's no little green light glowing by the earphone port. is this normal?

Time Capsule Status light is off

Why is the Time Capsule Status light off even though it is plugged in? The disc is spinning but it is not found in Airport Utility.

You have a Gen4 (look on the base A1409) that has committed ritual suicide..
Leave it unpowered for 12 hours.. then plug in again.. does the LED flash at all at start up.. LEDs on the ethernet ports.. no flash then no recovery.
It is now dead. At least the main router part is. The disk spinning shows it is not a failed power supply.. unfortunately I cannot even offer you a repair method. I did get one that failed that way.. pulled it apart and checked all the power supplies inside.. nothing was bad.. put it back to together and it started working again.. I do not know why but it has been reliable and working ever since. I do not therefore know what was actually the fault.
All I can suggest is the same treatment.. you have to pull it down and actually lift the board out.. ensure all the heat sink sticky tabs are connected and put it back together.. who knows.
You can at least recover what is on the hard disk if you need to, by putting the hard disk in a USB holder and plugging it into your computer.
If it is less than 3years old and you have applecare on a computer, you bought within 2years of the purchasing the TC.. apple may replace it.. check the rules as they are complex and convoluted.

Have 2 airport extreme base stations connected in chain. Airport utility shows slave unit without power. However, power is on slave unit, but status lights do not show up at all. Small green lights at each back port blink. Anyone have any ideas?

Unfortunately, you are describing the symptoms of an AirPort Extreme with a failing (or failed) internal power supply.
As a last resort, try a Factory Default Reset on the AirPort Extreme as follows:
Power off the AirPort by pulling the power cord
Wait a minute or two
Hold in the reset button first, and keep holding it in for an additional 8-10 seconds while you simultaneously plug the power back into the AirPort
Release the reset button and allow a full minute for the AirPort to restart
Now try to configure the AirPort again. If you continue to see the same symptoms as before, the AirPort will need to be replaced.

Apple TV v2 functioning fine, but status light permanently off

I have a v2 Apple TV, and everything seems to be working fine... but my status light is now permanently off.
I have tried disconnecting the power and HDMI cable, and experienced the issue with both Apple TV 4.1 and the newly released 4.2.
Anyone else have this issue, or know of a solution?

I'm having the same issue on a brand-new Apple TV 3 that I received this morning. Everything seems to work fine (other than some home sharing issues that I wouldn't think have any relation), but there has not been a light.
You guys are also the first people I've found who had the same issue, even if it was from the ATV 2 and not 3. If anyone found/finds a fix, please let me know.

Press power and lights up then shuts off

I have a compaq presario f700 laptop. it was working fine then i try to power it up and the power button lights up along with 2 of the lights along the front edge for the HDD and power and also the light on the track pad. and the fan goes round then it all shuts off. I have tried the remove battery and hold down power button thing and have also tried removing HDD,memory pretty much down to just the board and proccessor but still does the same press power light up and fan goes for a second then its off ..checked supply its good...this is a compaq presario f700 running windows vista ..i think it has error lights beside the caps lock and above the num lock and they dont light up ethier .Any ideas ???Thankyou

Your computer will not boot.
It sounds like you may have a problem with your board.
I’d suggest take the computer somewhere local and have them check everything out.

Repaired cfp-421 relay boards not working in a cfp-2000 System - power light off

Hi, we are using a cfp-2000 as a control system for various biology related experiments and prototypes.
The first configuration was controlling valves & pumps. I recently took that configuration apart after it had been sitting unused for a while and started to re-configure for a different application to control lights. I had trouble right off the bat, couldn't talk to the cfp-2000 controller. I sent it in for repair\replace and then went through a little work to re-setup in MAX. I got the IP connection working and I can turn on\off the leds on the cfp-2000.
Then I found that the three cfp-421 relay boards were not working. So I sent them in for repair. They came back but when I add them to the Remote System in MAX, I can't communicate with them. There is a message indicating that they are not connected (I don't have the exact wording but can get it if that will help). The Ready indicator is on at the cfp-421 modules but the Power indicator is off. I tried all three returned modules individually with no luck.
Any help is appreciated. We have spent quite a lot of money on repairs and have fallen behind on the project.

The messages are "The module or item addressed does not exist" and "The device is offline. Make sure the device is connected and its power is on".
If I reset the cfp-2000, all relays activate on the cfp-421 (the eight indicator lamps light) for a few seconds and then go off.
I wonder if something is broken in the backplane because the cfp-421
power light is off.

Usually, when you put it to sleep mode, the status light will turn off. To put it into sleep mode, go to Settings.
If you want it completely off, then I guess the only way to do it is to pull the electric plug.

My apple tv status light has gone out. How is it turned on? There is power to the unit and it was working until we were gone for three weeks and now it appears to be in a standby mode.

N96 - Unable to switch off the Status Light

I am trying to disable the illumination light for the rim around the scroll key. I downloaded the N96 user guide from your site which says that the phone has the option under Tools > Settings > General > Personalisation > Standby Mode > Status Light. When I go to Standby Mode on the phone, I only have the Shortcuts and Standby Theme as options. The Status Light and Operato Logo options are not there. Is there any other way I can disable the illumination on the scroll key?
