T61p Windows 7 32bit. 3D Graphics extremely smooth then choppy.
Hey Lenovo / T series fellow users.
I got this T61p couple months ago. (yeah i know im a little late and outdated)
it seems to me that anything i run thats 3d seems to run quite smooth then unexpectly it will start getting choppy as if there was something HUGE that started running in the background.
This is my first laptop ever and i'm not quite great with computers..
i do not know what could the problem be..
i've downloaded windows 7 nvidia drivers from lenovo site.
then i downloaded the latest drivers from nvidia site.
i disabled the AERO theme on windows 7. didnt seem to work.
i hate quite a bit of those windows 7 gadgets, mostly just gadgets that monitor the cpu and gpu n stuff.
believe me. i dont know what it even means. it just looks cool on the side of windows.
im just wondering if it could be the motherboard thing that i've been reading about on the forums on this laptop, but those posts are like from 2 3 years ago..
i still have like another 8 months til my warrenty expires..
should i just bring it into the warrenty centre n ask them if they know whats wrong??
would they even be able to figure out the problem??
ima computer idiot.
any reply will be a great help.
thanks
you could try to get warranty department to look at it.
what sort of 3D programs are you running?

Jin Li

Hi.
My Desktop Computer(Intel P 4, 512MB of RAM, and Graphics Card with 256MB of RAM)
Also, My Desktop Computer with P 4 doesn't have any access internet since there is no network adapter is installed. As a result, I would not be able to run the pc scan utility, or Reader a web-based applet that identifies my GPU or Audio controller
and finds the latest graphics driver for my GPU, and Audio.
I have two Windows XP installations:
Windows XP SP2(32Bit) which is old and it seems it infected by some viruses.
I have installed another fresh clean Windows XP(32Bit) SP3. However, I have two devices not detected well by Windows XP.
First of all, when saying that I have multi-operationgs systems, I mean there are two operating systems installed on my PC(SP2, SP3) both are 32Bit. The first Windows SP2(NOT installed by me) has all multimedia audio card installed well,
and has SCSI and RAID Host Controller shown the device manager. However, only the VGA is not installed on Windows SP2. However, the second one Windows SP3(Installed by me) has VGA not installed, Multimedia audio NOT installed, and there is no SCSI and RAID
Host Controller in device manager.
First: Yes, my motherboard has integrated video, and integrated audio card
According to the screen shots above, then
The vendor ID of Multimedia Audio Controller is 8086 and the device ID is
24D5.
The vendor ID of Video Controller is 8086 and the device ID is
2572.
I AM EXPECTING THAT KNOWING THE VENDOR ID AND THE DEVICE ID WILL LET ME QUICKLY FIND THE APPROPRIATE DRIVER. HOWEVER, I COULDN'T FIND THE APPROPRIATE DRIVER.
Thus, could you please help me to find them?
I have tried installing a soundMAX card driver, however, I found this error.
I have checked the other Windows XP SP2(32Bit) which is oder installed, and it seems it infected by some viruses.
However, the Multimedia Audio on that Windows is installed well. As here: I only posted these screen shots to show what kind of device is Multimedia Audio Card

Creating instance oracle 10.2.0.4 on Windows 2008 32bit
Hello,
I'm trying to install oracle database (10.2.0.3 with patch 10.2.0.4) on Windows 2008 32bit.
I first installed the Oracle software, and then started to create the instance. But the dbca gives me following error:
ora-12560:TNS:protocol adapter
and instance creations fails. Also trying to create the service via the oradim fails.
Then I found this:
Install Oracle 10.2.0.3 (Vista/2008 version) on Windows 2008 Active Directory Controller.
When trying to create the database, around 2% completion, the error ORA-12560 will occur.
This Problem does NOT reproduce on a Member server. Only the Active Directory Controller.
Cause
This is currently logged as Bug 7263061.
Solution
Currently, the only workaround is to Install the software on a Non-Controller machine.
You can try demoting the Controller machine to a Member machine.
Perform the install, create the database.
When everything is setup correctly, you can promote the machine back to a Controller.
However, be aware you may have to go through these steps whenever you create a new DB.
DIM-00019: create service error
O/S-Error: (OS 1388) A new member could not be added to a local group because
the member has the wrong account type.
WORKAROUND:
None
so workaround none? or you make that controller machine to a non-controller, but this doesn't seem to be a good solution if that server is already in production???
Is there possible another solutions to get around this?
This means that I can't install Oracle on a Windows 2008? Customers will be happy, maybe I can switch them all to Linux? ;)I care about low-budget shops, too. It's one reason you won't find me extolling the virtues of (for example) solid state hard disks, which are still not cheap enough for mass deployment.
But come on! A shop that can ONLY afford one server and one Windows license? And yet they want to install Oracle?? Really??!
I think instead of banging your head against an installation brick wall, you should help your clients and customers cut their cloth according to their means. If they want to run Oracle, then they should resource accordingly. For about AU$2500 or less, they could purchase an additional, quite capable server, install Linux on it (OEL for $99 per year, or Centos (say) for absolutely nothing), and have themselves a dedicated Oracle server running perfectly fine in a mostly-Windows environment. (The OS the database runs on is irrelevant to anyone making use of the database's capabilities, after all). If they can't spring for even that sort of money, encourage them to adjust their standard to be more realistic: a cheap desktop PC can be purchased for mere hundreds of dollars, have a free OS, and have Oracle installed (unsupported) on top of that. If even that is a step to far, I'd suggest using MySQL or Postgres instead of Oracle.
So whilst I'm certain you're not the only one encountering the problems of working in low budget environments, I'd say this is going to extremes. If someone wants to run Oracle, and if they've stumped up the several thousand dollars necessary to purchase it, it seems utter madness not to come up with a few hundred dollars more to get it running on a dedicated machine. It would be like me being able to afford the Ferrari, but not the cost of the petrol to run it on!
A suggestion I made to a lawyer friend of mine recently: purchase an Asus EEE Desktop (cost: AU$499, for 1GB RAM and 120GB HDD), replace its Windows Home Os with Ubuntu, install Oracle XE (cost: $0), attach 1TB USB drive as backup mechanism (cost: AU$210). He now runs a dedicated Oracle database server for less than US$500. I wouldn't exactly recommend that sort of thing for mission-critical environments, but it will do the job he needs it to do! The point, though, is that you just have to be realistic about it, and create an environment that matches your requirements -without picking a fight from the get-go with the installer! -
Oracle XE 11g on Windows 7 32bit GUI won't start
Hi there,
i have installed Oracle XE 11g on Windows 7 32bit - Services are running - entries in the start menu are present.
When i try to start the graphical user interface (Browsing: http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/f?p=4950), it doesn't work. A hint was to install a Microsoft Loopback adapter in the network properties. I did - it didn't help.
Any suggestions how i might get this running?
Cheers
JanHave you change your PC name since the install ?
if you have the change the lsnr file in network, XE folder.
Make sure that service Oracle MTS Recovery is not running.
can you connect to Db in cmd dos window sqlplus?
also check your hosts file in windows 127.0.0.1 might be resolved somewhere else. -
MSI AMD FM1 A55-P33 - won't install windows 7 32bit
Hi there,
we have board the MSI AMD FM1 A55-P33 motherboard but for some reason we cannot install windows 7 32bit on it.
What does install flawlessly is:
All Windows7 64bit
Windows 7 Starter 32bit
We ( and also the local supplier here in South Africa ) have test the following components:
Power Supply
Ram
Ram Ports
Alternate Ram Manufacturer
DVD Writer
Hard Drives
Graphics Card
Onboard Graphics Alone
Board is running latest bios update.
and it still does not install.
They supplier has ordered in and tested the same model motherboard and it still does not install.
For me that means it could be the motherboard model or the cpu ( which is still being ordered in so an alternate can be tested )
When i say doesn't install, it installs until the very end where the installation restarts and goes into the installation one last time to finalize things
and then it throws a error and you can't complete the installation.
The local supplier has had the computer for 2weeks now with no success,
I was hoping someone here could assist us with a few suggestions.
Thanks to any advice given .what is the exact error received?

Need all Diver for windows 7 (32bit) on my HP 14-r017tx
i have pre installed windows 8 and complete driver from the store i got this lappy. but apps at my office only run in windows 7 32bit, so i downgrade to w7 32. the problem is then i cant get any apropriate drivers for my lappy. even in this site
so please can anyone help me where i can get them?
thank you for helpHi:
HP does not support consumer notebooks for 32 bit operating systems.
You can try the W7 64 bit drivers from your PC's support page, except the graphics.
Most of the 64 bit driver files should also have the drivers for W7 32 bit too.
If those don't work you can try the W7 32 bit drivers from the Probook 450 G2 except the graphics.
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=6943827&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4053
Graphics will have to be gotten from the hardware mfr's websites.
1. Install the chipset installation utility from your notebook's or the 450 G2's support page first and reboot.
2. Install the Intel HD graphics driver and reboot.
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24349
3. Install the nvidia graphics driver and reboot.

Please help to get all drivers.Hi:
See if this works for the graphics:
1. Install the Intel chipset driver and reboot.

3. Install the nvidia graphics driver and reboot.
http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/80914/en-us
For the rest of the drivers, try the ones from the HP Probook 450 G2. Do not use any BIOS or firmware files from this model.

My Windows XP 32bit Wireless quit working on my 2008 iMac, works great in Apple mode.
Hello all,
My 2008 iMac in Windows XP 32bit mode (for work programs) stopped working. The crazy thing is that its AWESOME in Apple mode, but in Windows mode, it fails totally. I cant communicate with the modem. I have tried reloading the drivers for the Broadcom from the OSX CD/Bootcamp Drivers, but that did nothing.
Any idea how to fix this?
Please help me. I have spent a week on this, and its been malfunctioning for several months now. I must get it working right.
lhA couple of things, first there is a Boot Camp forum so if you want support I'd think that would be the best venue.
As you have discovered Boot Camp only supports Windows 7 on the current machines so you are in a box if you must run on Boot Camp. However instead of using Boot Camp you can use virtualization software such as Parallels or VMWare Fusion which perform very well. The are many advantages of virtualization one primary one is you can still run XP. Others include being able to run MS Windows within OS X so you can use both OS's simultaneously. The only downside to virtualization is if you run graphics intensive apps (3D Game, CAD/CAM, 3D rendering) then performance will not be as good as with Boot Camp. However for almost all other apps performance is really good and most cases users don't complain.
While it will cost a few dollars (I believe about $79) virtualization is a very solid alternative. -
ITunes 10.5 on Windows 7 (32bit) doesn't display the iTunes store
Hello there,
on my Windows 7 (32bit) system, already with iTunes 10.4 I encountered the problem that the iTunes store remained inaccessible - it simply wouldn't load/display. Problem was solved by removing all Apple software, cleaning up the registry, rebooting, reinstalling iTunes 10.4.1, and NOT installing Safari 5.x - because as soon as Safari got installed, the problem would reappear.
Now with iTunes 10.5, the problem is back. Only that this time it does not matter if Safari is installed or not - the store simply won't come up.
I've tried the whole support articles suggestions up and down - to no avail.
It's not a problem of firewall, antivirus, hosts file etc. - the diagnose function says clearly that even https is OK, all settings in the internet options are right, etc. etc. - I've spent days on that, and believe me, I'm sure about it.
The diagnose function says, however, than QuickTime would not be available. No matter if QuickTime IS installed or not, before or after iTunes 10.5 that says it would neither contain nor need QuickTime anymore.
After cleaning out all Apple software and its traces, a reboot, and a reinstallation of iTunes 10.4.1, the store is accessible again - only that iTunes 10.4.1 can't use my iPhone with iOS 5 on it.
So I'm either stuck with an iTunes that CAN access the store, but can NOT sync my iPhone, or with one that CAN syn my iPhone, but can NOT access the store.
Besides, with iTunes 10.5, the separately installed iCloud control panel app simply won't come up - I can click until I get blue in the face...
Obviously, for iCloud control panel, although it is only listed as "recommended", it seems it's actually "required" to have Outlook 2007 or 2010 - and I have Outlook 2003 and do NOT intend to switch to a higher MS Office package.
I got an appointment at the Apple Store nearby now for Wednesday noon - to revert my iPhone to iOS 4. Then I could at least go on using the iPhone until again the first apps won't support iOS 4 any longer, as it happened shortly after the launch of iOS 4 when iOS 3.1.3 wasn't supported any longer.
Oh, I forgot to mention - during the update/upgrade to iTunes 10.5 / iOS 5, the sync destroyed my recent backup and hung - the only way out was to kill the backup process and continue, which resulted in a "new", blank phone. Lost some years' app data and a lot of important bookmarks that way.
Needless to say that the iPhone was my last Apple product ...Peter Hah
After spending another two days on pinning down the iTunes 10.5 blank store page problem, here's the solution to be found: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3372617?start=0&tstart=0
Look out for "japiohelp".
In short:
a) press Windows key + "R", enter "cmd", and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter (= runs as admin)
b) enter "netsh winsock reset" and pres enter
c) reboot the computer
and Bob's your uncle.

How can I login to Oracle Express Ed 11g Rel 2 on windows XP 32bit?
I installed Oracle Express Ed 11g Release 2 32bit on windows XP 32bit and I can not login ito it. Installation asked for a password to be created at installation which I used to login with.
The login window is started from a shortcut that installation created on my desktop. I tried to download and install three times. I went thru a SW removable before another download. The login responds with "Invalid Login Credentials"
I have admin rights to my PC. What could be the issue?
Please help.
Thanks. What could be the issue? Could be many different causes. Mistyping the password is one, or the database could be offline but in most cases that will give a different error message. Open a command box, Start/Run/cmd and try:
$ sqlplus /nolog
connect system
... Password ... <the one used with the installer> ... Connected.
select name from v$database;
login window is started from a shortcut If you're talking about the Apex page, the one that opens a web browser to http://<hostname>:8080/apex and that one needs Apex credentials, not database user credentials. Apex users can be mapped to database users but that is something done via the apex administrator.
Two database accounts "out of the box" are SYS and SYSTEM users, those are special- SYS owns the catalog, SYSTEM is a user with dba role privileges, almost as powerful within the database as the SYS user. -

Not a lot of documentation on that one, I'm afraid, but there's some general principles troubleshooting we can try with it that might get us moving forwards.
(1) Do you currently have a copy of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package installed on that PC? If so, try downloading the following security update:
[Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update|http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=766a6af7-ec73-4 0ff-b072-9112bab119c2&displaylang=en#filelist]
Does iTunes install for you after applying that update?
(2) If no joy there, head into your Windows Update and click on the Update History. Have a lot of Updates also been failing for you recently? If so, doubleclick on the entries for the failed updates to bring up more information on each. What error codes appear for you for the failed updates? (Precise spelling, please.) -

thanks for your help if you know the answer.Hi all, I know this is a very old thread, but I was battling this issue for awhile and wanted to provide my solution in case future users encounter a similar issue.
I am running Windows 8. I encountered this issue while trying to install iTunes 11.1 x64 version. After some troubleshooting, I discovered that the real issue was trying to install the Apple Mobile Device service.
My resolution was installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package. It is available from Microsoft. A search on Google should reveal it. However, here is the latest link that I used: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=14431
Note that redistributable packages for more recent versions of Visual C++ (eg 2008, 2010) will NOT work. Only 2005 version worked for me.
Good luck! -

I tried to install driver on connecting PC, i tried to install printer as Local printer with local port - \\WIN7-32bit\HP PSC 1310 Series\ - and i got access denied, and before i reinstall Windows on 64Bit machine its worked correctly... anyone know how to solve this problem ?
*Edited*
When i connect it on 64 Bit machine printer requesting driver *.inf and not specific file...
i try to install 64bit driver on 32 bit machine in sharing options and they didn't support it...More than likely, you are receiving the access denied error because there may not be a HomeGroup in place.
To handle networks securely with Windows 7, Microsoft took a different approach. A HomeGroup essentially creates a trust among all the devices in that home group. If a device is not in that homegroup, then that system will essentially be denied access.
Click on Install a printer on a home network to get basic steps to install a printer in a network environment.
Click on HomeGroup: recommended links to get more information about Home Groups, including setting one up.
