T7900 + XtremeMusic + headset quest

I have a Sennheiser PC60 (headphone with mic), a Creative T7900 and a Creative XtremeMusic. I'd really like to be able to connect the speakers and the headset at once. So... is it possible to plug the headphone into the headphone jack on the volume control on the T7900 and plug the mic into the top jack on the x-fi?

I'm assuming T7900 is a speaker set, and I'm too lazy to verify (lol).
As long as the cable is long enough you can do that, but make sure the "What You Hear" is turned off for you mic, otherwise you'll hear feedback the whole time it is just sitting on you desk or whereever. The card knows no difference between a set of desk speakers and a set of headphones, it just outputs the signal to where its supposed to and lets whatever recieves the signal do its thing.

Audigy 2 ZS Gamer & Headset quest

I just bought an Altec Lansing AHS602i Gaming Headset. I have a pannel that sits in my CD dri've bay that I can connect a headset / microphone into along with other things. When I plug the headset in it turns off my speakers, but I am not getting any sound and the mic makes some echoing sounds. Is there something that I am missing. When I get home I'm going to plug it into the back to test the headset.
Any ideas I can try when I get home?

I have it setup right in the mixer. It works great when I plug it directly into the sound card in the back. I would like to use the plugs in the front pannel in my Bay. I plug in the headset and my speakers turn off, but I can't hear anything in my headset with any of the volume's turned up. I've also tested the mic up front with no luck either.
Tonight I will double check the connections to the front panel, but has anyone else run into this?

I bought this card thinking that I could hook up digital(optical) audio -without- the breakout box, but there is no place that says you can't. So now I have a receiver that I can't run digital on..yet. Its a Pioneer 5. Home Theater system. It has digital ins (optical, STB and DVR) and standard RCA ins (just red and white plugs). Is there a way I can get surround to work with this using the digital connectors? (maybe a conversion plug from the digital coaxial cable to mini?) Right now I'm running a split RCA cable to the receiver..

I can hear myself and my keystrokes in my headset and it's fairly annoying. I didn't have this issue on my regular Soundblaster card that was four years old.
I have my mic muted in the volume controls but I can still hear myself almost like an echo. Am looking for advice or a solution.

My original iPhone did this when new. I always blamed it on a system glitch with AT&T.

X-fi XtremeMusic makes ugly noise first, then turn off

Hey, I bought a XtremeMusic just some days ago and tried to install it. First question I had, was, if the card needs an extra current entry because in the manual is written, that I only need it for a E/A console, which I don't got.
So I just connected the PCI Slot and started the PC. I didn't have to deactivate the Onboardsound because I got another Soundcard before. So I just installed the drivers. (I got to say here, that I connected the card analog with my z5500 5. system)
First, anything I got was high peep tone - then I heard nothing. So I looked through the settings - everything was okay here. I visited the official homepage and loaded the newest drivers. After some reboots the card actually worked - for a day.
Today I wanted to test the headphonefunction of the card. I switched the card to headphones and put it in the green box. What I got was a feep-tone again. So I tested the headset with my mp3-player and it worked. So it's the soundcard again, making ugly noises.
But when I wanted to get the sound back to 5. - the tone remains. After a short time, the sound disappered fully. The strange thing is, that I can't really play music. When I play a song in Foobar, it can't start. Same in Youtube, it stocks after 3 seconds. Just the WMP plays songs - without sound.
I don't know what to do know because all the links in the stickies don't work. Please give me an advice howto clean all drivers to install them again. (And of course give me further information - If you know the problem)?

I may have misunderstood what you meant, but when I reinstall again over top of the existing drivers, the add new hardware wizard never even pops up. I only get that when I do a fresh install.. And in that case I ordinarily do select cancel..

X-Fi XtremeMusic = Headphones&Mic + Speake

I've got a Audigy X-Fi XtremeMusic installed and all works excellent! (I love the 24bit crystalizer ^_^d)
But I'd like to listen to some music on my stereo and on the other hand I'd like to use some communication-software (teamspeak, skype.. etc), which should be directed through the headphones.
At moment I try to get along by having installed the onboard-soundblaster (ac97 @soundmax version 5.2..3630, mobo: asus p4c-800e-deluxe) and using the "SoundMax Digital Audio"-Device for Teamspeak. The headphone and the microphone is plugged in the motherboard's sockets... and generally it works. BUT.. if I change the master-volume-control on the SoundMax-Control-Panel this change will also affect the master-volume of the creative-audigy-panel!?!?!
Is it possible to change the volume independently? And if so, how? Or are there any other solutions?
I've just discovered a button near the volume-control of the entertainment-mode.. apparently the headphone-volume can be changed autonomously.. so, maybe it's possible to do it with just the Audigy X-Fi Soundcard and the right adjustments?
I'm very confused and I'm very bad in understanding technics... and my english is bad too, sorry!
But, if you understand my problem and have any solution... please help me...!

I am having similar problems. I can use my mic fine but the static/overall quality of recording with my mic is HORRIBLE. I have tried 2 headsets and a regular microphone that I bought awhile back. I have an X-Fi ExtremeMusic that I just recently bought, and I installed the drivers off the cd, then updated the drivers on the soundblaster website. If I switch to Game mode, my record device is set on mic, but the static is unbearable.

Is there a headset connector in X-Fi XtremeMusic, just like in XtremeGamer? I know that its a quite stupid question but I am not sure about this after reading the technical data of those cards. buttons for volume stop working I can only use the headset to listen to music now but I cant change any volume or double click to change the song.
Since I plugged in and unplugged it into PC they just do not work. (it was a first time when I plugged them into PC since I bought them).
I heard from a few people that they have the same, but you now, its not supposed to happen like that.
Such a simply stuff and "all that amaziness and greatness" its not the same now
Does anyone have solution for that?
I cant afford to speend another £30 for headset because I plugged them into PC and they do not work any more...

X-Fi XtremeMusic and Inspire T7

'Ello,?I want some advice, on some prodcuts I am thinking of buying. I was thinking of getting the X-Fi XtremeMusic sound card and the Inspire T7900 speaker system, I was wondering can that sound card support the 7. speakers and will it work with Windows Vista. I ahve tried looking on the website but cannot find anything about if the sound card will work with that speaker system or not. Sorry for what is? probably a stupid question but untill I buy these I have never used any speakers that cost mroe than ?20 so am not sure on this.

All X-Fi series and audigy2 zs support 7. speakers. I don't know about the support for vista though, but I'm pretty sure that they will finally support it a few months later if you are patient enough.

now i have the x-fi xtrememusic a teufel concept e magnum and a sennheiser headset
i would like to use them both (teufel for music sennheiser for gaming) without changing the cables on my x-fi all the time
and it would be nice that if i use the headset the speakers would be muted or something like that

What you describe is possible on a model with a dri'vebay, but not on the X-Fi Xtreme Music. Everything connectors to the back of the card so there is no way to distinguish between normal speakers and headphones. On the dri'vebays there is a headphone jack, which can automatically switch settings when you plug in headphones.

Tips for my 7.1 headset plea

Just bought these Razor Barracuda HP- - headset and it's a 7. headset but i connected it analog so its just 5..
I'm using it for gaming and I before I've used the "Headphone-mode" but I want to use all of the speakers in the headset. The problem is when I put the "7.-Speaker-mode" it's not the warm sound you get by the "headphone-mode".
I guess the "7.-speaker-mode" is not ment for headphone, and I wonder if anyone could show me how to equalize and configurate my settings so I'll get the perfect sound.

That's your opinion, but it is pretty much contrary to any research that's been done. And, there are different reasons for RAM to be cheap. One is not having a manufacturer's lifetime warranty. I never recommend buying RAM that is called economy RAM if it does not come with a manufacturer's lifetime warranty. I never recommend buying RAM from a vendor whose return policies may be questionable or unfavorable. I also never recommend that people only chase after bargain basement priced RAM.
If you read any of my other posts along this line you will know I always recommend OWC and DataMem.
EDIT: FWIW, I've read many complaints about RAM not working that was bought from Crucial.

Where can I buy a 4:3 cable for 7.1 XFi XtremeMus

I've recently purchased a stand-alone OEM XFi XtremeMusic Soundcard for building a new machine with. I bought this as it supports full 7. audio and the gentlemen I'm building the system for already has a 7. speaker set.
However, upon going to set it up, I noticed that Creative does not use the industry standard 4:4 audio cable connection, but rather a seemingly propietry 4:3 cable. After an hour or so of looking about on the net, I cannot find one -anywhere-.
Where the heck can I get one of these cables? Buying a new set of speakers is not an option, and if the answer is that you can only get them with Creative Speakers I'm gonna be upset, as it doesnt state anywhere that the card can only do full 7. when paired with Creative Labs speakers.

The 2 sound cards above support 7. sound and but why they only have 3 3.5 mm mini jacks ?
If you use industry standard connector then you will need 4 3.5 mm mini jacks (one for center and sub, one for front left and right, one for side left and right, and one for rear left and right). Creative 7. speakers (S750 or T7900) have 4 3.5 mm mini jacks.
To connect these speakers to Creative sound cards, you have to use the supplied cable (3 minijacks to 4 minijacks INSTEAD of 4 minijacks to 4 minijacks). It's not the industry standards because Creative chose to do so, and only Creative use this kind of cable.
I can't find this cable anywhere for spare, help us please.

FATAL1TY headset problem

Have just purchased this new headset and have connected it up to my Inspire T7900 system but i can only hear the faintes of sounds in the headset, i have connected to both the PC direct and the remote handset for the T7900 but still the same problem. By the way the sound works great on the inspire T79000

I have the same problem with the headset and have just emailed the support team. The headset was straight out of the box, lugged it into the computer and the sound is far too low even with the volume control up to 100%. I then tried another pair of creative headphones (EP-630) and the sound was as expected with the EP-630.
Maybe we have faulty headsets, anyone else experience this???

im looking to buy a headset to plug into my soundcard x-fi fatilty or the speakers t7900 (the volume control thing which has 2 wholes where the headset plugs into.

I am not sure about the 5./7. capability of your Syberia headset, you may need to check with the manufacturer about this. For a common headset that uses two stereo jack, simply connect the audio out to the line out jack and the microphone to the Flexijack of your X-Fi XtremeMusic card. Try this to see if there is still crackling sound.
