  • There is no "performance" tab in Preferences

I just watched the new YT video about "hidden gems in lightroom CC" I am keen to try these new features, so I updated to v5.7.1 and I can't see these improvements. There is no "auto" in Catalog Settings\Standard preview size and there is no "performance" tab in Preferences. I'm in Australia, are we getting a different version? Can anyone help?

Hmm - I have this problem too.
    I'm confused.
I have Photoshop/Lightroom - what I thought was CC - I pay monthly - my understanding is that I get the latest Lightroom and upgrades when they are available. The about in Lightroom has only ever describe it as Lightroom 5.x... Never Lightroom CC. Photoshop is described as Photoshop CC.
Today I was offered an upgrade - Pano/HDR/Performance improvements etc. So I upgraded. It upgraded but is showing Lightroom 5.7 - not 6 not CC. Pano/HDR etc are all there.
So what am I missing? What do I have to do to get version CC/6? I have tried to find where to upgrade to CC/6 on the Adobe web site - but I can't find it.
What is it that I'm not understanding?
I'm running Windows 7 64bit, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 with latest drive from Nvidia site.

  • ITunes freezes if I Click burn or burn tab in preferences

Whenever I click burn or the burn tab under advance in preferences iTunes freezes and I have to use the task manager to close and re-boot. I am able to import without a problem at all. Also, when I tried to do the CD-Diagnostics test, it froze too. I am not sure where to go next as I have tried re-installing multiple times.

(1)JUST BECAUSE YOU DO NOT KNOW AND CAN NOT FIX THE ISSUE IS NO REASON TO GET STUPID WITH ME.
    (2) THE REASON I AM USING THIS THREAD YOU POPASS (NO NOT A MISS SPELLING) PUNK. IS BECAUSE I AM NEW TO ITUNES I FIGURED THEIR MIGHT BE SOME PEOPLE THAT WORKED FOR ITUNES TO LATCH ON AND FIGURE THIS OUT, BUT IT IS OBVIOUS YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. IF YOU DID YOU WOULD HAVE JUMPED RIGHT ON IT.
I CAN DO ANYTHING I WANT AS LONG AS I HAVE A BLANK CD IN BAY 2 BEFORE I OPEN ITUNES. WITH OUT A BLANK IN TRAY 2 AS SOON AS I CLICK EDIT, PREFERENCE, BURNING ADVANCE TAB THEN BURN MY MACHINE LOCKS UP ONLY IN ITUNES AND DRIVE 2 IS ALSO LOCKED UP IT WILL NOT EJECT CD OR ANYTHING. AS WILL CLICKING BURN IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER OF ITUNES I CAN STILL DO OTHER FUNCTIONS ON THE COMPUTER, BUT TO GET THE DRIVE BACK OR TO CLOSE ITUNES I HALF NO CHOICE BUT TO POWER MY MACHINE DOWN. YES THE PROBLEM IS PROBABLY CONFLICTING SOFTWARE THAT I TUNES DID NOT DO AS THOROUGH OF A JOB AS THE SHOULD HAVE BEFORE THEY RELEASED THEIR SOFTWARE.
I ONLY CAN SAY TO Vicasey TO TRY AND PUT A BLANK CD IN THE DRIVE 2 AND TRY IT. IF ITUNES STILL LOCKS UP THEN CLOSE EVERYTHING OUT IN THE SYS TRAY EITHER THROUGH THE START, MSCONFIG OR JUST CLOSING EACH ITEM OUT ONE AT A TIME TO FIND OUT WITCH SOFTWARE IS CONFLICTING, OR ITUNES AGAIN NEEDS TO DO THEIR JOB AND PUT OUT A UPDATE FOR THE DRIVE'S WE ARE USING SO THEIR SOFTWARE WILL WORK LIKE IT SHOULD BEFORE THE RELEASED THEIR CRAP.
SORRY I STEPPED IN YOURE THREAD VICASEY AND GOOD LUCK WORKING WITH THIS RUDE PERSON THAT DOES NOT HAVE A CLUE

  • TA38263 i have no burn option in preferences?

i do not have a "burn" option in preferences - anyone know why

Yes, those settings were rearranged in recent releases of iTunes.
Now, you open the playlist you want to burn, and use the command File > Burn Playlist to Disc.  This brings up the "Burn Settings" dialog where can check your preferences for that burn.
Check the boxes as you wish, and then click the button for "Burn."

  • I tried to burn a cd and i went to the menu and then preferences but theirs no burn tab

I tried to burn a cd i went to the menu and then preferences but there is no burn tab??

Keith nailed the title explanation, iTunes sends some information to a database which checks "fingerprints" of your song against what it has on record. Once you can mount your disc, you can send the information about your specific album to gracenote through iTunes (it's likely under the Advanced menu, but look around for the option to submit info).
as for your CDs not working, its possible you got a bad run of discs, it does happen ocasionally. if you can get another batch (and especially brand) of CD to try you may find that that one works.

  • How to fix freeze/lock ups when opening Burn tab under iTunes Preferences

Played around the past few nights with two PC's with the same problem after upgrading to iTunes 6.0. Would open burn tab under preferences and promptly lock up iTunes. Thought it was a driver problem, etc... Thanks to Toonz, here is what solved it simply for me on both PC's:
Run iTunes Help, CD Diagnostics, Run "CD diagnostics" and save output file from CD diagnostics somewhere on your PC (not even sure it's necessary to save file) and you should be able to view your burner tab and the CD/DVD drives preferences. Seems that iTunes CD diagnostics file gets corrupted, and needs updating after updating iTunes.

Silver, thanks for posting these instructions which were originally posted by MacMuse on the following thread.

  • TA38263 My itunes doesn't have a 'burning' section under preferences.

I am trying to burn an audio CD. Every time I try, it appears to burn on my lap top, although when played back in a car, or other CD player, it hasn't actually worked. After reading up on it, I hve discvered there is no burning button under preferences on itunes. How do I get this? Please help!

The burning preferences were moved out of the Preferences menu several releases ago.  Now, you can set them in the dialog that comes up when you select "Burn Playlist to Disc."
If the CD does not work, there are several possible causes.  Try the following:
Make sure you are using CD-R blanks, not CD-RW.  The latter frequently have problems in regular CD players.
Make sure you have selected to burn an Audio CD (not MP3 CD or Data CD).
Burn an audio CD with some other program on your computer, to make sure your CD drive is OK.
In iTunes, use a lower burning speed, and also try a different brand of CD-R blank.

  • No burn tab in my itunes

If I insert a blank cd I get the pop-up..so it's obviously reading my disc player.. but there is no burn tab at the bottom of iTunes. No burn tab in preferences and no burn selection if right clicking on the album to be burned.

    Anyone know why this is?

As you can see from the pictures.. that is a playlist as far as I know and everything is checked. the pictures also show that I did right click it. There are absolutely no burn settings and no burn options available. I can burn fine from other programs like winamp.. I just don't want to have to go through the hassle of reorganizing everything in winamp like I already have it organized on i-Tunes. I have no problem importing cd's so connectivity isn't the problem.
If I'm doing something wrong please post a picture of what your burn settings look like so I have something to compare to.

  • Burning tab missing from Advanced tab in Preferences

When I click on Edit in I-Tunes, then open the Preferences, then open the Advanced tab there is no _Burning_ tab to change the space between songs I want to burn to a CD. Whats going on?

My problem is this. How can I set individual songs on a playlist to different spacing gaps. For example: The Bob Seger album, "Live Bullet" has a cut on it called "Traveling Man" that transitions straight into "Beautiful Loser" with no interruption.
If I set gap to 2 seconds for the rest of the playlist, then the program automatically sets a 2 second gap for those songs and I do not want a 2 second gap, I want 0 at that point.

  • In systems preferences display there is no arrangement tab, in systems preferences display there is no arrangement tab

in systems preferences display there is no arrangement tab
i had it in OSX 10.8 but not in mavricks

The Mac uses a heavily parameterized Driver for the graphics cards, rather than drivers for each attached display. For this reason, displays MUST respond to requests for their identity and capabilities, so that the parameters can be set properly to get a picture.
You can see whether the display has responded to the request by looking in:
    About this Mac > ( More Info ) > Graphics & Displays
to check for the name of the display. "No Display Connected" is exactly the problem you need to solve. Sometimes the ( Detect Displays ) button will help, but sometimes the Display itself needs its settings changed so that it knows the HDMI port is actively connected to a computer.
[√] Mirror displays is RARELY helpful, because it requires both the built-in and the TV to use the same resolution. This does not work very often -- one or the other may go dark. Uncheck this until you get it going.

  • Adding photos to 30 gig ipod...there is no 'ipod' tab in my preferences...

    Hi-
I looked in other topics, but none of them answered my question.
I opened up itunes and clicked edit, and went to preferences. However, there are only 7 tabs that show up, ipod not being one of them. The ones that show up are general, podcats, playback, sharing, store, advanced, and parental control. Umm...help?
    Thanks,
    -Kate

What version of iTunes are you using? In iTunes 7 the iPod preferences aren't under Edit>Preferences any more. If you are using 7 connect your iPod and click on it when it appears in the Source list, this will bring up the preference tabs in the main pane, one of the tabs is Photos. You can see the new preferences here: iPod Summary

  • ITunes freezes when trying to access "burning" tab in advanced preferences

iTunes freezes when trying to access "burning" tab in advanced preferences and also when attempting to hit burn cd button in lower left corner.

Thank you SO much!!! This is Exactly the problem I was having. I have spent untold hours in the last couple of days trying to resolve not only iTunes freezing up, but my network connectivity went bust as well. I like Blink so I'm undecided about whether to uninstall it yet, so I just disabled all of its firewall settings, and presto!... I can not only get my CD/DVD player to read and burn CD's, but iTunes and my computer remain functional. I got my computer to reconnect to the internet by doing a System Restore at a point prior to my trying to burn a CD. Thanks again so much. You saved my entire week!

  • Selecting Burning Tab In Advanced Preferences

    Greetings!
When I select the 'Burning' Tab in 'Advanced' preferences, my PC locks up and this lasts for 20 minutes plus. The only option is to ctrl alt delete and force quit the iTunes app. I am selecting this tab because my iTunes 7.4.1 will not burn CD's. I had this problem in the past and corrected it by selecting a slower burn rate from the menu in this tab. How can I access this in preferences without iTunes freezing? Any help would be enourmously appreciated!
    Thanks
    Walter

The Import settings button has moved in iTunes 8 to iTunes prefs -> General.
    Click the *Import settings* button.
    Set it as you want
When you right click a song, you can select *Create xxx version*, where xxx is what you have set in the *Import settings*.

  • I see no burning TAB

i went to my iTunes preferances and i see no tab called "BURNING"
i added a few songs to my library
and i wantd to TEST burning to cd just to make sure i can do it before i start purchasing songs from the store
the help section says the following but i have no tab called BURNING
Burning an audio CD in iTunes for Windows
Using iTunes for Windows, you can burn an audio CD with your computer's CD-R or CD-RW drive.
If your computer has a CD-R or CD-RW capable drive, including some DVD-R and DVD+R drives, you can make or "burn" an audio CD using iTunes for Windows. If you're not sure what kind of drive your computer has, or if it can burn a CD, you can easily find out.
    To burn an audio CD:
    1. Open iTunes for Windows.
    2. From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
    3. Click the Burning tab.
    4. Select "Audio CD" as the disc format.
    -------------

When you have the playlist open that you want to burn, look in the lower right-hand corner, there's a "burn disc" button. You push this and you should be good to go.
(This button location has changed from previous iTunes versions so it's confusing.)

  • What happened to the CD Burning tab?

I want burn to an external CD burner but the tab in Preferences is no longer there.  Since my internal drive is unreliable, I need to use another drive.  How do you do that??
    Thanks

When you select a playlist and use File > Burn playlist to disc, a burn settings dialog box opens where you can make your choices, including an external burner.
