TA38641 iPhone 5 Problems.

So, my phone has some issues letting me do things. I can't set up a passcode because my phone doesn't have it as an option. I also don't have a reset option either. Also, I can't delete apps and the Game Center keeps saying that I have 'Demo Mode' on and I can't change the account for it and my Photo Stream doesn't work when I get on the computer to check my iCloud. My phone is an uinlocked and I know that an unlocked iPhone 5 doesn't affect the problems I'm having right now because I had an unlocked iPhone 4 before and it didn't have any problems that I'm having right now.
Please help me!!

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

Major iPhone Problem

I'm having a major iPhone problem!!!
My phone crashed yesterday and wont turn back on or charge since then. It will start up with the apple logo and then the screen goes dark, will only stay on for about 30 secs. It's an original not jailbroken or anything like that. iTunes won't recognize it at all, I tired resetting it, hard resetting it, a different cord, basically everything and NOTHING works!

try doing a hard restart - hold home + power until the phone shuts down... then connect it to your puter.
you may have too many things running in the background on the phone... i have heard fetch & push can drain your battery like you experienced... i don't use them, i get my mail when i open the application.

3G iPhone Problems with iTunes 9.2: synch problems

About 3 days ago I started getting this error message when I tried to sync my iPhone 3G with my Outlook 2007: "iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone [name of phone] because the sync server failed to sync the iPhone." I tried various ways to try to overcome this including a hard reset of the phone, going through all the settings in iTunes, uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes, etc. etc. etc. Nothing worked. So I called Support.
The first thing the Tech asked me is whether I installed OS4. I said no, it's too buggy on a 3G: I had tried soon after OS4 came out & my phone got stuck in backup for over an hour, after which point I aborted the process. Plus what would I gain on a 3G? Nothing.
We talked for a while & he admitted that the issue probably was the fact that the latest versions of iTunes (9.2+) are "supposed to be backwards compatible" with the 3G OS, but that it's really more designed to work with OS4. So the first thing he would have to advise me to do would be to install OS4.
Since it was a given that I wasn't going to do that, his response was a verbal shrug and a passing remark that I might have to find "some way" to downgrade my 9.2 version of iTunes to 9.1. But of course he couldn't tell me how to do that.
Meanwhile, during my long talk with Support my Better Half did a Google on "downgrading iTunes 9.2 to 9.1.1". The result was: http://hackstor.blogspot.com/2010/06/downgrade-itunes-92-to-911-macwindows.html
I followed the instructions on that site & they worked. Curiously enough, my Better Half hasn't been experiencing any of these problems because he did not update his iTunes or try to dl/install OS4. Hmmm... Is there a pattern here???
My conclusion: I won't be updating my iTunes or iPhone OS until all these bugs are worked out. Will I be buying a 4G in the near future? Hmmm....
Disclaimer: I am not an iPhone Tech nor did I sleep in a Holiday Inn this week. I can only tell you what happened to me & how my problem was solved. YMMV.

Yes, I don't disagree with the first part. However, I could sync my iphone (to itunes 9.2.1) when I had 4.1 installed from another computer).
I think that I am limited to an old os (10.4.11) on my mac as it is old (pre-intel) and therefore I can't update my OS. If this isn't the case, then an update to my OS could solve the problem. I'll check the requirements of the newer OS now.

IPhone Problem Hardware and Software Overview

Dear iPhone Users, over the time I myself have been using the iPhone for some months and discovered some hardware and aoftware problems, with perhaps some solutions to such problems.
a) The "Dead-Flashlight" Error: This is an annoying error, which is based on a hardware problem. I read a topic on the web which pointed out:
i) There are two flashlights: Camera Flashlight and Flicker Flashlight. Camera Flashlight is adjusted near to the camera recorder, this is the exact place of error. It seems that if this light does not turn on, you've probably managed to move its original place to behind the camera lens, where it may have become non-progressive. While flicker flashlight is adjusted on the other side or portion, even if you manage to drop your iPhone this light will not lose its function.
ii) Solution: Apple company should manufacture the next product carefully, just so that in near future the company does not get defeated by competing industries. Finally, if you want to fix it, you should go see a hardware mechanic, they probably can fix it.
b) No "Adobe Flash Player": First of all, Steve Jobs, explained that Adobe Flash should not be allowed to run on iPhones due to security reasons, what are those reasons?
- Unauthorized Camera Access through Flash?
- Redirecting to virus defined websites?
- Recording the voices of a user while the Flash Object runs?
- Too much cookies (save/load object files being stored)?
- Decrease in Acceleration?
To all these I would reply: "Bull-Crap". Flash is one if the best advancements ever created, it provides benefits like:
- Most widely used for entertaining purposes.
- Allows people/users to watch flash videos at low size but at high-quality.
- Does not buffer, once loaded a flash onject video, you may stream it over and over again.
- Provides great interface for educational purposes.
- Easy to code, has examples all over the world wide web.
- Many Popular MMORPG/RPG games are available.
- Easy to upload and share.
- Has great interface.
- Almost all websites provide uploading and sharing facility.
There are many more benefits, Flash should be on the iPhones.
c) Wifi/GPRS related signal problems: The signals are very weak compared to product of Samsung Company (Samsung Galaxy Siii).
Solution: Please make a product that is worth the money people pay your company, for gods sake!
d) New Opportunity? Merge/Joint Ventures: Well, if iPhome wants to really be dominant? Then there is one company out there that will Make there next iPhone even more powerful, destroying its competitors. And when the name is displayed people rush to the iPhone stores: e.g "iPhone 6 Nexus"/iPhone 6N.
Well I might know a company, but not going to tell until I think Apple is ready.

My iPhone problems after the 1.1.1 FW upgrade

Hello everyone,
It appears I'm not the only one having issues after upgrading to 1.1.1. I'd like to document the problems I've encountered after upgrading to 1.1.1 in case others can relate. Some of my observations are similar to others, while I think i've seen some other funky behaviour not documented yet.
1) POOR battery life. Used to get about a whole day of use no problem before needing a charge...now I have to charge two or three times a day. Just now I saw my battery diminish from full to empty in less than 1 hour!
2) Phone runs HOT often, although this is intermittent. Sometiems it's ok. Like what others have reported. Probably a stuck process in the background?
3) Now notice the iPod "play" icon on the top right of the home screen pops up even if nothing is playing. I can temporarily resolve this by going into the iPod function and playing and then stopping a song. But sometimes the icon pops back up shortly after! Maybe this is the "stuck" process?
4) Some movies on YouTube return an error "movie cannot be played" which i do not recall seeing prior to the upg. After a while of trying, the movie can finally be played.
5) Some of the icons (metadata?) representing my photos are now missing. There are blank white boxes for them. But when you press on the blank area, the original image is still there.
6) Phone now locks-up intermittently. FORTUNATELY a hard reset still works. Since you can't take the battery out, I'd be SOL if the hard reset fails too.
7) When syncing to Outlook on a Windows XP system, I now get an error indicating a sharing issue with Outlook.ost. Basically when syncing with Outlook running, it seems to lock-up Outlook. Work around is to make sure Outlook isn't running prior to syncing. Never did this prior to the update, and this is annoying!
8) Date and time goes WAY off when set to sync automatically!! Breaks all scheduled appointments.
9) Checked device usage and one time it showed 803 hours. Took a picture of that, LOL!!
10) Intermittent internet connectivity on both Edge and WiFi. Like the browser locked up. A restart corrects the issue.
11) volume for speakerphone and earphone seems lower than before. Probably similar to what others have reported.
12) Bluetooth has intermittent auto-pair issues. Prior to 1.1.1, my phone would have no problem auto-pairing with my car when I got inside. But now it seems it doesn't do this sometimes, requiring a manual re-pair sequence from my car.
Here's what i have tried to do to correct the issue:
1) Visited the Apple Genius Bar in Valley Fair, Santa Clara, CA. Per their recommendation, we did a full iTunes removal and re-installation on my computer. Then we did a full phone restore, pulling a "fresh" 1.1.1 image from the Apple server.
The next day I found I still have the same issues.
I suppose I can try another restore?
As most of my problems take some time to manifest/develop, it's sometimes hard to demonstrate this to the Apple store help. But i'm not sure if in my case the problem is still with the FW, or with the phone itself. I'd feel more comfortable if they replaced the phone to eliminate that, but can understand if they want to address the FW first. Maybe go back and try their help again?
At any rate, I hope Apple support is tracking issues documented on the forum. Seems there is something up. Hopefully a FW update will be released to get us back to a stable base.
Oddly, it seems not everyone is experiencing these problems, at least from the sound of it on this forum. Weird issues!!

Ipod playlists syncing onto Iphone problem

I got an X-mas iphone, and I'm so confused. I have created multiple playlists on my ipod, and I was hoping that I would be able to copy and sync them onto my new iphone. Problem is, when I go to drag and pull them into the Iphone on Itunes, it won't allow the transfer- Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
One other quick question?:
I have a tape deck adaptor for 2000 celica and direct link adaptor for my 2006 Rav4. Will these adaptors recognize my iphone and play music through my vehicles stereos? Will I have issues with Bluetooth in my Rav4?

The iPhone doesn't allow "drag-and-drop" syncing. Select on the iPhone in the "devices" list in iTunes, then select the "music" tab and check the boxes for the music you want to sync. Click "apply". You'll have to do the same for anything else you want to sync (videos, photos, calendar, contacts, etc).
As for your other question, I have no idea...

BT Infinity Ipad and Iphone problems

Help please, got fibre installed yesterday and almost everything is perfect, my PC is fine, my wifes Ipad also fine, however; my Iphone and Ipad simply won't do anything. I thought it might be a safari problem so reset the data etc etc,
It could acces almost everything, FBook, Maps etc etc, but won't do anything else, I mean I cant use the internet, which is odd as that's what FBook and Maps use
It wont download anything and wont connect to ICloud at all, no matter what I do it says I aren't connected when I clearly am.
So I totally reset the IPad deleting everything and starting from scratch, still can't connect to the Cloud or app store, it won't even connect for messaging.
Oddly enough I managed to connect to cloud when setting up as it emailed me to say I accessed it
It connects to Itunes music and the App store yet no downloads happen they just sit there waiting
The devices are clearly connected as shown in my hub manager
Any advice most welcome

Make sure you turn off "Smart Set Up" on the Homehub. See link how to do that

Some devices have a problem with the Homehub dual band having the same SSid (name). Try giving the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies different SSids. Just add a 5 to the end of the 5Ghz SSid so you know which is which. Check the 5 GHz Sync with 2.4 GHz: is set to NO.
Once you have done that "forget" the connection on your device and then restart the device and log onto both the SSids if the device can use both frequencies. Not all devices can use 5GHz.
