What is the "charger cable thing"? Is that the USB docking cable?

Apple told you it was unrepairable.... You had it serviced by an unauthorized party. It's now no longer eligible for out of warranty replacement by Apple.
There's really nothing else we can say about it. Find a competent 3rd party repair shop or buy a new one. -
the charging cable now longer fits all the way in the charging port. I can't see if any lint is in there, but if there is how can I get it out?
Go to the Music section of your Library (very top-left corner) and see if your songs are there. The "Purchased" playlist may have been deleted or gotten corrupted, but if that happens it's not a big deal because your music should still be in your main Music Library.
If your music is NOT in the Music section of your Library, then go to the iTunes Store homepage and find the Quick Links list on the right side. At the top of that list, click Purchased and you can redownload all of your previous content that you might have lost. -
Can you use the same charging cable for both an iPhone and an IPad or are they different? When I use the charging cable for my iPhone on my Ipad, it doesn't charge.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

Upgraded to iOS6 and now charging cable doesn't work
I just upgraded to iOS6 n my iPhone 4, and now my charging cable doesn't work. No...it's not an "official" Apple charger, but even the usb cable doesn't work when I plug it into my computer. If I plug my iPad charger into it, it works fine. How can the new operating system determine what kind of usb charging cable it "wants" to accept? This charger and cable worked flawlessly before the OS upgrade.
Same problem here. I use a wall charger and have had success by unplugging the charger from the wall, plugging the adapter into the iPhone, then plugging charger back into wall. Had the same problem with a car charger and got the phone to charge using the same procedure. I'd love to know if this works for you. Good luck!

I had a lightning cable, that came with my iPhone 5s, that frayed and broke at the connector. I took the cable and phone into the Apple Store and they exchanged the cable for a new one with not a question asked. Good experience.
I think part of it is that the design of the Apple cables is quite flimsy especially at the connector and I think they see a lot of them fail. -
IPhone is plugged in to my laptop and is charging but will not sync. The phone logo doesn't appear in the right hand corner. i have updated itunes restarted both phone and laptop, changed connectors and still nothing. help?

Tried to update iPhone 5 to latest OS. When I looked at the phone a while later, the screen was dark except for the iTunes icon in the middle of the screen and another icon showing the charger cable and an arrow point to the iTunes icon. Now I'm bricked out of the phone. When I hold down the power button after the screen goes completely dark, the Apple logo appears, then the iTunes icon I described.

I just bought a new iPhone 6 and i'm very happy with the phone itself. Natural upgrade from my old iphone 5. But i kinda feel ripped off by the following: I bought an official apple 2m lightning charger at an official apple seller about 6 months ago for about 30 euro (don't know the exact price). Worked perfectly with my iphone 5 and allowed me to use my phone in a better way while lying in bed. But when i try to charge my iPhone 6 with that charger it says that the asseccory isn't supported by the phone. It really ****** me off. Why is an official apple charger not supported on the iPhone 6?Does the charger-cable that came with the iPhone 6 work properly, does the extra charger work correctly with other devices? If so, could be an issue with the extended cable matching the new iPhone. You could take it to an Apple Store Genius Bar and have the techs check it to see why it won't work with the new iPhone. Could be the resistance is too high for the new iPhone.

My iPad needs recharging. I plug in the charge cable in what I think is the recharging slot. I cannot find anything in any of the literature or on the website that identifies the charging slot but the plug seems to fit! But it won't charge.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW.

I updated my iphone4 today and now there is just a black screen with a blue itunes circle, below that an up arrow and below that a picture of the charging cable that plugs into the phone. If I hold the power off button down the screen shuts off but no slide msg to power off. The home button does nothing.

6 year-old battery makes horrible sounds, the charging light doesn't appear anymore

My battery (and my laptop HP Pavillion zt3019ea) are 6 years old and for few weeks now my battery has made horrible sounds (like a loud mosquito) when connected to the charger. When it's not connected to the charger the sounds stop but it looks like the battery hasn't been charged at all.
The charging light doesn't appear anymore, or very rarely.
Is it the end??!
Is it worth buying a new battery for a 6 year-old laptop (i already changed the hard drive few months ago)?

View Solution.I will definately recommend buying a new battery for the unit since you still work on your notebook.
It is bettery to buy geniune spares from HP than buying third party spares as you will have a warranty on the battery purchased.

Your iPhone is in recovery mode and because a reset did not resolve the issue you are left with plugging the iPhone into a computer with iTunes and restoring it to factory settings.
