I am 89 years young. I use a 6 year old iBook G4. It has gotten slower than me. I can't open firefox anymore. I can't get to google in Safari. The wheel just spins. Can someone help me?

How long has it been since you did any hard drive maintenance?
After six years of use, the hard drive may be so full that it is hampering performance.

Determine the available space on your Mac OS X startup disk
In Finder®, select the startup disk icon. For most users, this is Macintosh HD.
Press the Command-I keyboard shortcut.
The Info window for your startup disk opens. In the General pane, the Capacity, Available (free space), and space Used on your startup disk is displayed, as seen in the following screen shot:
As a general rule of thumb: if the Available space on the Mac OS X startup disk is less than 10 GB, it is time to free some disk space. We suggest 10 GB as an absolute minimum as this is generally the amount of free space required to reinstall Mac OS X 10.5 and earlier via an Archive and Install and still preserve space for VM swap files. More free space is better. For example, users of FileVault may want to retain more free space than that occupied by their encrypted Home folder: disabling FileVault requires free space somewhat greater than the size of your encrypted Home folder.
Even though Mac OS X 10.4 doesn't take as much space as Mac OS X 10.5, you still need to keep quite a bit of free space on your hard drive. A too-full hard drive is a common cause of system slowdowns.
If you find that you do have enough disk space, post back and we will explore other potential problems.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I don't think you would get a thing from the App Store running 10.3.x on a PowerBook. It would help if you told us what you really are using and what version of OS X you were running.
It would also help to tell us what the "stupid ball" is. In fact it would be a big help to give us a thorough and intelligible description of your situation so we don't have to guess.

Try:
- Another cable
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The work path is a vector object, and infinitely scalable, but when you stroke it, Photoshop lays pixels on a layer that follow the path. These pixels are raster based and can not be scaled without loosing quality. You do have options. If you want to make the raster layer bigger, transform the work path and stroke it again. Or work at a higher resolution in the first place.
Incidentally, you can't stroke a Path with the Pen, because it is a Vector based tool, and stroking is a raster based function.

I have a VI A. I want A to call another VI B and execute. After B executes, I want it to close automatically and go back to A. Is this possible ? I tried using open reference and those methods, but I am not able to do it. Can someone help me ? Thanks !

I've created a customized menu and at the instance of me selecting a menu, a VI should load itself dynamically. I am using call by reference. Sometimes it works and sometimes it won't. In short, what I want to achieve is load VIs dynamically and close them dynamically once they finish executing. Thanks !

Lower left corner should be a key with 123 on it...are you saying tapping that does not bring up the numeric screen?

this usally happens when the backup you tool was from an old ios version. Two options that you can try is
1. Delete the back up by going to edit> preferences> devices & delete back up on itunes & try backing up again
2. Update the ios software of the iphone4 & then take a back up. then try restoring

It sounds like you are trying to do something similar to this Memory Test Reference Design. Check out the code linked at the bottom of the document, and try using part of the code that fits your need, and modify the rest that you don't need, or that won't work with your device. Also, are you going to be using more than the 32 channels of the one board, or will you require 2 devices? If so, then you should check out the Tclk examples, but if not then the above should be enough to get you started. Hope this helps get you started, or at least an idea of what you might be able to do.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately "Restart" did not change the situation. I then used the "Restore" option. After about 45 minutes of the unit going through the process, Apple TV was up and running again.

with your cc apps you should try to use the sync feature. that's never worked consistently for me, but when it does work, it's helpful.
there are preference folders and presets and settings that you could copy but you're better off installing fresh because a common problem for people with adobe program issues is a settings issue.

Why is my new MacBook louder than my 5-year-old iBook?

New 2.4ghz MacBook aluminum owner here. There a very low hum coming from my new MacBook, and it is always there. I don't know if it is the hard drive or the fan, but is is quite obvious in a quiet room.
I compared it to my 2003 plastic iBook, and the iBook is SILENT compared to the new MacBook.
I checked the iStat Pro stats, and the fan is around 2000rpm and the temps are normal.
Anyone else notice this? I love the new machine, but this noise is slightly disappointing, especially compared to a 5-year-old iBook.

A G3 iBook is quite different than a G5 tower. The iBook was silent and would run 5.5 hours on a single battery. Of course, it was a nightmare to change the hard drive. The video wasn't shared with the CPU like the Macbook. Unfortunately, said G3 video card also wasn't affixed very well to the logic board either.
My Macbook doesn't quite have the same battery life, sounds like it has a turbocharger when doing video or heavy CPU, and will literally burn my left leg if I set it directly on my lap. There is a reason why Apple stopped selling "laptops" when the Macbooks came out.
