Tab bar extends over side bar in FF4

I run Tab Mix Plus and All-in_One Side Bar.
In FF3.6 the tab bar extends to the edge of the side bar but not over it.
In FF4 the tab bar extends over the side bar.
I think there was an option in earlier versions of FF to control this behaviour, but I can't find it in the Options for TabMix, AOIS or FF.
I would like the side bar to extend above the tab bar.

Although it seems right to just add a float: right; to the menubar ul, it is better to enclose the menubar ul in a div and float the div right.
Applying the float: right; directly to the unordered list also styles various parts of the menubar with the float: right;, and not usually in the way you might like. I have also noticed that different browsers treat the float: right; differently (when applied directly to the menubar).
Once you restore the original float: left; to your CSS and enclose the whole menubar in a div, you should be fine.

Double arrow resize cursor of application frame extends over menu bar

Using Photoshop cs5 in application frame mode, when the cursor reaches any edge of the application frame it automatically turns into a double-arrow which when clicked and dragged will resize the application frame. (that is normal behavior). However, when the application frame is at the top of the screen against the menu bar, and then the cursor passes over the top edge of the application frame and onto the menu bar, that double arrow resizing cursor doesn't change back to the normal arrow cursor. Just very annoying to always see that double arrow when I'm trying to click any menu item on the menu bar.
I wonder if it's a photoshop issue or a mac issue, or if anyone else has noticed the same thing,

Just tried doing the same thing in illustrator and it does not have that problem, everything works like it should - I move the cursor to the top and I don't even get that resize cursor at all (which is the way it should be since the top of the frame is against the menu bar there's no room to extend it upwards) so leads me to think it's a Photoshop issue.
Any feedback is appreciated.

I can confirm that this happens on my machine as well.
Current work around is to click an empty spot on OS X menu bar to reset cursor to normal before selecting a menu item. I have seen this behaviour since initial release of PS CS5 (all updates installed and behaviour still exists).
Illustrator CS5 does not display this behaviour on my machine either, so it would appear to be confined to Photoshop (I am assuming the mouse-over parameters for resize may be to blame, or lack of recognition of menu bar proximity).
Machine specs:
Mac Pro (early 2008) - 2.8 Ghz. Quad-Core
OS X (10.6.4) - fully updated
8 GB RAM (1 GB / slot)
nVidia 8800 GT video adapter
ACD 23" display
Logitech LX8 mouse (no software installed for mouse, generic OS X driver)
Note - Wacom Intous3 drivers installed (haven't tested behaviour with tablet pen yet, but tablet only plugged in and used for specific painting, not during displayed behaviour).
Default install for PS CS5 and AI CS5.
Issue displayed with or without any third-party plug-ins installed.
A fix would be good.

iTunes has not had a sidebar for over a year. You can see one (as iTunes 10 used to show) by doing View > Show Sidebar from iTunes' menu.
But I'm not sure if that is your issue. You do not need a sidebar to do home sharing. Are you running the current iTunes (11.1.3)? Have you turned on sharing in Preferences? Have you done File > Turn on Home Sharing?

Minor problem - side bars not extending to footer

Hi-
I created a page layout that includes two side bars on either side of the "body" area. Normally these have text in them and adjust in height based on what's contained in them. Well my design is one such that there is purposely no text included and it's just a rectangle extending vertically from header to footer. So in order to get it to look the way I wanted it to I had to set a specific height in pixels of 800px. Recently, I added a collage and some faux text as I am starting to work on this particular page. I noticed that the bottom has white space between the side bars (on either side of the body area) and the footer. I need the side bars to hit flush with the footer. (see other pages for what I mean). I can't figure out how to fix this. I know it's probably something fairly simple but would appreciate any help. I wonder if maybe by my specifying a certain height to these side bars that it'll mess up whenever I add content with a greater width than what's set (800px). Is there an easier way to do what I'm acheiving with the side bar and not hinder the look of the site when I add content?

Your layout is badly broken for me in Firefox but I didn't check it in all browsers. See screenshot.
Keep your Spry Menus and images. Simply replace the CSS Layout you're using now with something more suitable for your project goals (equal height columns).

Can't read address bar/tab title/etc. -- black bar issue on Ff4

Please help!
I am using the latest Firefox 4.0 (it says it is up-to-date) as of 3/22/11. This particular machine has an nVidia Quadro FX 3450/4000 SDI card (nVidia control panel reports version 258.96). I am running Windows 7 (no SP).
I can't read the address bar or tab names or the search bar, etc. because they are covered by a black bar.
Other text is also unreadable.
Is there any fix for this issue? Thanks for any help you can provide. I would love to enjoy the new Firefox!

Same problem. It appears to be caused by the window border color and transparency in Windows 7 (and Vista, I presume). I changed it by rightclicking the desktop, personalization, Windows color, unclick the transparency box. Now I can see the FF toolbar.
This should not be necessary. It is an error in FF4. Hope they fix it soon.

Resizing tab and side bar

how do you resize the tab and side bar? Downloaded Maverick and can't find where to resize even after looking in the preference. It is small.....

Could be corrupt plist. Try deleting both the com.apple.finder.plist and com.apple.sidebarlists.plist and relaunch Finder.
Finder>Go>Go to Folder> copy and paste:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
delete it.
Finder>Go>Go to Folder> copy and paste:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
delete it.
Now relaunch the Finder. The Finder icon is in the very left of the Dock, hold the control and option key click the icon>Relaunch

How to stop book marks from opening in a side bar instead of the current tab

I was fiddling around with some add ons, but for some reason now whenever I try to open a bookmark it opens them in a weird little side bar thing on the left of my screen. How can I make it so that my bookmarks open up in my current tab again?

hello, you can right-click those bookmarks, select properties & uncheck the option to load the bookmark in the sidebar.

Side Bar with Tabs

I know there is a template for 1 level tabs with side bar. I need to add tabs withing the side bar. Is this possible?

Let me clarify some.
I created 3 list items that will display as tabs:
Admin
Manager
Marketing
Under each 1 these tabs (list items) I only want to display specific items.
For example, Item1 should be visible only when the 'Admin' tab is active.
I think seesion state will let me do this along with a display condition. Yes?
Also, I want to make the current list item (tab) bolded when they click on it. Now they all seem to display the same.

How do I drag and drop files in iTunes 12? I don't see my other computers in the side bar only playlist?

I upgraded to Itunes 12 and now cannot drag and drop my movies & music files between my shared computers? The side bar option, which only appears under the Playlist tab does not show my other shared devices where I used to simply drag files over and drop them on them to transfer. I have 2 IMACs and a macbook pro that i like to keep hard copies of my music and video libraries on. Anyone know how I can get my shared computer to show up on the side bar so I can drag and drop like I've been doing for the last 5 years?

Thank you Peter. Mine is more about creating playlist on my iMac and then wanting to drop it it on to my macbook pro for tailgating and family events, instead of recreating. That doesn't seem like something that should bother apple as I already have the music and I am not going to go purchase it again off iTunes if this is what they are thinking. I think this is about limiting our ability to share music and movies.

Why most of the pages of my site are named "About me" if none have that name in the side bar nor in the inspector?

Each page has a different name in accordance with the content both in the side bar and in the inspector it shows.

Anyway, there is a textbox out of view that holds the title :
Beats me what it is doing there, but here is the oft repeated explanation :
iWeb uses the textbox in the Header layer of an iWeb page as the title in the browserwindow.
If the textbox in the Header is missing, iWeb uses a textbox down the page in the Content layer. If that textbox is also missing, it uses another textbox. If that fails it uses the pagename in the Sidebar. To replace a missing textbox in the Header, choose another theme and then change it back to the original one.
Sometimes you may want a different text in the titlebar and not display it on the page itself. Or not display it at all.
So use that textbox in the Header layer. Type your text. Do Command-T to open the font palette and make the font smaller (Or do Command--(minus)). Then select the textbox. In the Inspector choose T, click a color to open the color palette and drag the opacity slider to 0 (zero).
Resize the textbox. You may want to change the height of the Header layer.
Do Command-Shift-B to move the textbox to the back, possibly behind other objects.
Next add a optional second textbox to the Header layer and use that one to display text on the page.
If you want to move the textbox to the front again to make changes, but can't remember the location on the page, drag the area with the mouse to select the objects.
Deselect objects you do not want to move forward by Command-dragging the mouse over these objects.
Next do Command-Shift-F to move the textbox to the front. Repeat the steps in reverse order to make the text visible.

I want to have JMenu on a Side bar(JPanel) with sub menu.

I want to have the JMenu on the sidebar(which is a
JPanel placed at WEST). This JMenu shall have the sub
menu with it. I got the JMenu on the Sidebar but when

Hi Ashwin,
I saw the above code which is approaching my requirement... Thats cool man. Taking that as reference i modified it to make it what i want. The code i have modified and which is very closer to my requirement is attached below. I have set the Windows Look and Feel, because its easy to track my problems with it. The problems am having are:
1) When the mouse is removed from the menu its submenu is not disappearing.
2) When i take the mouse over the menu its making the name(Books/softwares/tools) of the menu invisible.
3) When i take the mouse over the sub menu items they are not getting highlighted, which means they are not listening
I hope u will solve these issues for me...
Also make the menu items work ie., just make them print when i click submenus like "Clicked books->java" and "clicked softwares->.Net" so that i get an idea of events....

My hard drive crashed recently and i can no longer see my web site address in the iWeb side bar

Let me start with the general advise...
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

How do I stop the side bar from popping up in the left side of my screen when I click on a bookmark on my tool bar?

I just got a new laptop, and redownloaded mozilla as my browser. I've set up my tool bar tabs but when I click them they only appear on the left side bar when I click them. This didn't happen before on my previous laptop, so I'm confused on how to get it to stop opening the sidebar when I click them, and have them instead appear in my main window.

Opening in the sidebar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.
You can check the properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the sidebar (Ctrl+B; Command+B on Mac).
In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.
Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" is not selected.

ITunes 12-Please please restore side bar functions for playlists -and how can i tell when and if it is safe to "eject" devices after synching

ITUNES 12-4points
1) Please restore the easy function whereby the side bar easily accommodates playlists
2) How do i know when devices can be ejected following synch--no visible drop down ?
3) How can i change the fonts and font sizes of the library-over and above the noddy large/small toggle in preferences
4) Look forward to a proper Apple update which includes full functions of iTunes radio. Hurry up with the latter-Spotify is overtaking you guys!

I can only tell you based on what I see w/ my iPhone...
When I plug in my iPhone I get the following icon on the top bar:
If I click on that (that's when it turns blue), I get a sidebar. At the top I see this while it is syncing:
The circle-arrows spin. Once the sync is finished, I see this:
I then know the sync is over and I click on the Eject icon that replaced the circle-arrows.
Are you seeing something different?
