Tab bar mouse buttons

First of all I really hate the middle mouse button click to to open new tab. How to disable that?
Next how to bring the menu (shown on the picture) when right clicking on tab bar, currently it gives the menu to choose toolbars.

And how to disable the context menu (when right clicking) in status bar (status-4-evar)?

i use middle click since it's easier instead of positioning exactly on the button. also I have removed the X button -close button.
I won't mind about the context menu but i really hate the middle click to open new tab. I would like this option removed somehow...

Bookmark tab + Middle mouse button

I've searched around a bit and can't seem to find this anywhere:
On my Mac I can middle-mouse click anything on my bookmark tabs and it will open a new window, however when I switch to my PC and do this it doesn't recognize it and there is no configuration ( that I can see ) to change it to detect it. I know my middle-mouse button is working because I can use it to click hyperlinks and open them up as new background tabs...
This is about the only thing right now that is keeping me from switching from Firefox on my PC. Any help on this is greatly appriciated!

IMHO the must-be feature is simply not yet implemented. But of cause you can file a feature request to https://bugreport.apple.com to ensure that Safari team wouldn't forget about it

How to disable "Double Click on Tab Bar to Open New Tab" feature?

Since I upgraded to FF3 I've noticed this very annoying feature with tabs. If you double-click the 2-3 pixel wide bar just beneath tabs, it opens a new empty tab and sets the focus to that new tab (Which means I then have to go close that tab before going back to the tab I originally wanted). I happen to do this a lot by mistake (I go to click on a tab, but haven't clicked high enough, and of course, it doesn't change to the tab, so I unconsciously click again, which activates a new tab). I never open new empty tabs (alt-enter + middle click), and I have tabs to load in the background (i.e. to not *steal* the focus), so everything about this feature serves as an annoyance to me. Is there anyway to disable this "feature" (Either by disabling it, or making the width of the bar 0. I don't care either way)?

You can hold down the mouse button on a scroll button a bit longer to initiate scrolling multiple tabs. 
Otherwise you need to wait longer between the clicks on the scroll button. 
If you click twice on a tab bar scroll button too fast then you perform a 'page up' or 'page down' and the tabs scroll a tab bar width like you noticed.
I'm not sure what you mean with new feature because this is the behavior in Firefox 3.6.x as well.

How can I set firefox to stack my tabs one after the other so that I do not have to move through tabs using the buttons at the ends

when I open multiple tabs which do not fit the tab strip I have to move through tabs using scroll buttons. is there any way way I can stack the tabs on each other or suggest me a add-on which can help me achieve this

You can consider to access the tabs via the list all tabs button.
You see the "List All Tabs" button in current Firefox versions if there are that many tabs open that you get the Tab bar scroll buttons appearing.

Inside the browser, right click on the mouse seems to be disabled. How can I enable the right click button? It works fine on toolbars and tab bar but not inside tabs or windows. I would like to be able to copy and paste and such. Thank you

Right mouse button does not open any menu when clicked inside of tabs or windows. Works properly on the toolbars, in the address line, search bar...etc. but has no action on the page I'm browsing. I purchased a mouse recently and like the old one, the right button works in all other areas of my operating system. I would like to know if there is a setting in firefox that I can change to correct this.

There are also websites that can disable the right-click context menu.

Tab bar will not generate new tab if press+ - Links work- Right Button click 'open in new tab'

Now working with 3.6.18 (I had v4, then v5 briefly), the tab bar 'failed' in v5 so I went back to v3.6.18, but the problem followed.
No matter how many tabs are open I cannot get a new blank tab by clicking the "+" tab on tab bar.
I CANNOT get a new tab by mousing over another tab, right button menu "new tab" will not work.
I CAN select a bookmark "open in new tab" it works.
I CAN do the same on a link, "open in new tab" it opens in a new tab.

Didn't even know I had one, so I told it to display then went to the right hand end where a drop down menu offered "uninstall" and fired that , and again, and again, and again, the sticky little booger grinned back, but would not leave.
Reminded me of early Windows days when Win would die and tell you, "I just lost all your work" "OK?"

On Windows7 Premium Home Edition, I cannot get a new tab to open no matter what I try. On occasion, if I click on a link on the current page, a second tab will open, but 99% of the time I am stuck using the first tab for everything and using the back button. Middle mouse button not opening links in new tab anymore

Sinc ea few days ago I can no longer open links in a new tab with my middle mouse button. All the other features in firefox that use it remain the same. (ie. middle click tab to close, tab bar to reopen last tab,scrolling.) I have changed no settings and have gone over them multiple times, but to na avail. Is it Firefox 6.0.1? Please help I like opening tabs without having to use a right click function.

in the earlier update my middle mouse buttons used to close as well as open tabs for me in firefox..
but after the update 32.0.2 this feature of mine seems to be not working....

As for closing a tab with middle click, you may need an add-on. I use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-mix-plus/ Tab Mix Plus extension] for that feature.

Middle mouse button does not open tab with new url

Suddenly, Firefox (3.6.10 on Kubuntu) changed the behavior of the middle mouse button.
Before, pressing the middle mouse button on the regular window (not tab bar or tool bar or such) and not on a link caused Firefox to open a new tab and to attempt to load the content of the buffer as URL.
Now, Firefox shows a weird circle with arrows and my page scrolls vertically in a weird way.
How to get back the original behavior?

Very glad to see I am not alone. Alas....that answer did nothing on my system. I also am very very frustrated that, all of a sudden, my middle mouse button brings up a weird four pointed arrow! (see pic) I NEED it to open links in tabs for researching!!

Ok, I used to be able to open links up in a new Tab using my middle mouse button. However, I updated firefox with the automatic Updates on the 26th of October and now I no longer can open links with my middle mouse button. Why? I use this feature just about every time I go searching on the internet so I really would like it back. How do I restore the "close tab" button to the END of the tab bar, WITHOUT USING AN ADDON

Up until FF31, I used to have the following setting configured which moved the little 'X' button that closed tabs off of the tabs themselvs and onto the far right of the tab bar.

No, this no longer works. It has still moved the close buttons back to the tab buttons. Until I can figure out how to fix this, I will be moving back to a previous version. I can't for the life of me see why this feature was removed, other than Mozilla's seemingly arrogant insistence that it knows what people want better than they do.
I was since told by someone that I can use an addon to fix it, yet the problem is THEY DO NOT WORK. The addons that supposedly solve this all have intermittent failures where they don't load correctly, leave random dead tabs open, and in one case it even seemed to open new tabs when I tried to close one.
It's absolutely inexcusable that the dev team is so arrogant to take away a feature that has fundamentally no impact on the rest of the browser, other than, as I said before, they THINK they know what we want better than we do. It's no small wonder that FF is losing market share. The only thing keeping me on board was really this function, as I prefer this layout, and if it's gone, I see no reason to stick with FF over others.

unfortunately it is not possible to restore the close button to have only one (customizable) close button on the Tab bar without using an extension.
The extension is necessary because you need to create a new toolbar button and bind the proper code to it to make the button act as a tab close button (command: BrowserCloseTabOrWindow()).

Why is it that sometimes when I use my middle mouse button to click on a link to open it in a new tab I will have it open it in an entirely new instance of Firefox instead of a new tab?

Occasionally when I click on a link with my middle mouse button, instead of opening the page in a new tab, it will open a new instance of Firefox.
I've looked through some of the settings and I wasn't able to find anything. It really gets to be bothersome at times because I prefer things to be in tabs instead of a new browser.

It's not specific sites. I can middle-click on the same link 50 times and it will open it in a new tab 45 times and 5 of those times, it will randomly open it in an entirely new window. I don't know what's causing this.
It happens so randomly that I don't know how to pin-point what it could be.

The problem is that the extra buttons on the mouse (small buttons on the side) i have are assigned as "mouse button 4" and "mouse button 5". Now to a standart mac system these buttons are assigned to open a new window or a new tab in safari but when I customly set these buttons to something else it does both of those things. For example i sat the mouse button 5 to mission control (show all windows) but now if I am using safari it also opens something in a new page if I am holding the cursor on a link.
I just want to know how I can remove that function. To make the mouse button 5 and 4 do nothing.
The system I use to customise the mouse buttons are a separate program. I need to know how to disable this new page function in the mac software.

Firefox did an automatic update to 6.01, and now my middle mouse button is not working in the browser. It doesn't close tabs, it doesn't open new tabs by middle clicking a link, it doesn't allow me to middle click to scroll the page...

I'm on Firefox 3.6.21, and I got this problem today after a Greasemonkey update (To version 0.9.10, apparently).
Disabling Greasemonkey solved the problem, and re-enabling it reproduced the problem (middle-clicking links to open in new tab did not work, merely highlighted the link).
I should also note that while Greasemonkey was enabled and the bug was affecting me, Ctrl+Click to open links in new tabs was also broken.

EDIT 2: GREASEMONKEY HAS NOW BEEN UPDATED with a workaround to fix the problem. Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/versions/ to install the update manually.
